My downloaded films from iTunes are no longer viewable.
I bought a lot of films from iTunes since ive had my Mac and now all of a sudden it wont let me view any of my movies, anyone got any ideas why ?

    Hi Winston Churchill -
Nothing comes to mind, but lots of things could have happened between then and now. There are the obvious software updates that take place - either via Apple or other third party stuff - but I don't have anything installed that I know of that would be an 'enhancement' to iTunes or AppleTV.
That said, I ended up forcibly removing all movies from AppleTV by unmarking the sync boxes in iTunes, and then syncing with the Apple TV. I then broke the sync between AppleTV and iTunes, and then re-selected my iTunes library from AppleTV. Finally, in iTunes, I re-established the syncing with my movies and now they all play correctly.
A lot of gyrations for sure, but it made things start working again. I'm still curious why movies downloaded after 5/17/08 wouldn't play... perhaps a change in Apple's DRM that manifested itself in an unexpected way? Who knows? But at least it's working again.
    Thanks everyone!
    TRB

  • Why does my downloaded film from iTunes not sync to my iPhone?

I cannot work out how to get my iPhone to sync and include the film I've just downloaded from iTunes. Feel as if I've tried all the obvious things. Any clues welcome?

Have you gone to the video tab (in itunes) and selected sync movies and selected the movie that you want synced?

  • HT4759 I cannot download anything on to my iCloud storage and there is lots of gb available.btrying to downloads films from itunes

I cannot download an iTunes films on to my iCloud and there is plenty of gb space? This is the first time I'm using the iCloud storage tha I've purchased

You can't upload films to iCloud no matter how much storage you have: it doesn't provide general file storage in the manner of Dropbox or the defunct MobileMe iDisk. Its storage space is specifically for email, iWork 'Documents in the Cloud' and iOS backups.
'iTunes in the Cloud' has nothing to do with iCloud and I wish Apple would stop suggesting they're related - they aren't. Songs you purchase on one device from iCloud can in most cases be downloaded again to other devices; and 'iTunes Match' will match or enable you to upload songs your've taken from CDs or obtained elsewhere. However purchased films can't be download in this way because of rights restrictions by the distributors: a puruchased film can only be played from the device it was purchased on (directly or through an Apple TV).

  • Downloading films from iTunes

I've just bought a movie and downloaded it straight onto my iPad from the ITunes Store. I would rather keep in it in the cloud should i decide to delete it in future if storage space on my iPad starts to get low. I don't really want to keep syncing films to my desktop either can I do this without lthe fear of losing all purchases and simply recopy videos back onto my devices as and when I want to rewatch them?

That's good to know. As I would never want to pay for them again.  I still have enough space to take me to October. Thank you for letting me know.

  • I have downloaded films from itunes recently but the actual data has been deleted so I will need to re-download it, is there anyway to do this for free?

    -

It has always been possible to re-download 3rd party apps without having to pay again for purchased apps and recently the same is now available for iBooks and music purchased from the iTunes store, but not for movies and tv shows.

This is one of the reasons why including your iTunes library with your computer's backup along with all other important data is a good idea.

It depends on the speed of the Internet connection.

It seems that I have solved my issue by performing a full factory reset (erasing all content, something which I had hoped to avoid) restoring from an iCloud backup did not alleviate the issue, I had to set up as a new iPad.
Hopefully anyone else else who has this issue in the future will be able to find this.

I've been working at the same problem for hours now and it's really driving me crazy so any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

  • Downloading a film from iTunes to iPad

Have purchased a film from iTunes but it is taking hours o download, help!

What did you rent the film on, your iPad or your Mac ? If you rented it on your iPad then it should have downloaded into the Videos app on it (you should get a rentals tab in the app). If you rented it on your Mac then it should be in the Movies part of your Mac's iTunes library, you will have to connect your iPad to your Mac's iTunes and move it from your Mac to your iPad (I think that it should show on the iPad's Movies tab for moving)

  • Why is one film from iTunes Store taking over two days to download?

    Hi,
I bought a film from iTunes store two days ago and it is still downloading, loading about 0.1 MB per ten minutes. iTunes is telling me that I have around 80-100 hours until the download is completed, which seems absolutely crazy for a film that is only two hours long. I'm beginning to lose patience and would like to know if anyone knows why it is taking so long for this film to download? And, is there a way to increase the download speed without downloading any untrustworthy files?
    Thank you,
    IsabellaAMG

Because the people who hold the copyright to a song may be different in each country; everything on the iTunes Store is available with the permission of the copyright holder.

Maybe it is in the Purchased category of iTunes,
    Try going there

My itunes wont let me download films from my purchases, y?

    You don't.
You buy one and only one download.  It is your responsibility to backup your purchases.
