1800 series router - MPLS - VoIP

I have a customer who wants to implement a VoIP solution on an MPLS network. Will the 1800 series router work in this environment or would they need a different router? If not what would be the minimum router they would need?

The model will depend on how my IP phones who are looking at and SRST support and things like that. If the number of users is more than 250+ you will have to go with 3845 considering growth.

1800 Series Router and QoS

Ive run throught he QoS wizard on SDM which seems adequate, but I have another questsion.
I would like to classify the PCs on my network according to the MAC addresses for their network cards. For each class I want to allocate existing bandwidth such that some classes of PCs have their traffic prioritized over other classes of PCs. Can anyone offer guidance on how to get astarted with this?

You could classify the traffic using MAC based acls. These are 700 series of ACL.
Ex:
access-list 700 permit 0040.96a5.b5d4 0000.0000.0000
class-map match-all test
match access-group 700

Newbie question, can the switch module on the 1800 series router be assigned it's own IP range like any other interface?

You define vlans on them, and each vlan can be configured with an interface.
Or to each port you can say no switchport and configure each port as a layer 3 interface (with ip address).

License on the Cisco 3900 Series router.

I am trying to understand what does the "data" license exactly do on the Cisco 3900 series router. What I understood is that the data license supports "MPLS.ATM. Multiprotocol support".
Question is is a do not have this license will I not be able to run BGP, EIGRP and terminate service provider links?

1600 Series Router & WIC-1ADSL

I have some 1600 series routers and was hoping to use them for my Broadband connection.
Is this WIC compatable with the 1600 series router?
What is the required IoS if this is posible?

The ADSL WAN interface cards (WICs) supported on the Cisco 1700/2600/3700 series routers are also supported on the Cisco 1800 (modular), 2800, 3800 series Integrated Services Routers (ISRs).
As per the link it start supported only from 1700 series routers ony.

Bandwidth throughput Cisco 1800 Series

Hi All,
Currently looking at upgrading our 10mb leased line to 30mb. We currently have a a Cisco 1800 series which Cisco's technical manual says supports up to 40mb throughput, however our ISP are saying we should upgrade to a Cisco 1921 to support the additional bandwidth.. Has anyone run into this before? Any ideas if what our ISP are telling us is correct?

What I notice in the original post is this error
ARP: address resolution for 10.0.0.2 timed out.
which says that the router is looking for the 10.0.0.2 server but not getting response to its arp request. Can the original poster clarify for us how the device that has the image file is connected to the router that has the problem? Also what kind of device is 10.0.0.2? Is it a PC running TFTP server software or is it something else?

Setting up a dsl as failover on 2600 series router

Hi everyone, I am just about to get started preparing for my CCNA... I am looking to pick up some used Cisco 2600 series routers to set up a home lab. I am wondering if it is possible to connect a cable modem directly to a 2600 series router? If so, do I need a certain type of WIC? I want to go from my cable modem, to a router, to my switch. Yes you can, using the Ethernet port on the cable modem, you can connect the cable modem to the router 2600, and the 2600 comes with builtin ethernet or fastethernet (according to your platform).

Anybody have idea how to configure snmp v3 in 1800 series routers with Nagios configured for monitoring? Can we keep the community name if keep v3 running? I have configured snmp v3 as per the manual. But if I remove the v2 community name it stop responding? Please can I get the complete example configuration of SNMP v3 on cisco routers or switches with encription enabled?
