My system is as follows (all with latest drivers):
AMD64 3500+
1GB Corsair XMS RAM
ASUS A8V Deluxe (with latest BIOS updated this December)
ABIT Radeon 9800XT 256MB (with latest Catalyst drivers and control panel updated this December)
NEC DVD-RW
Maxtor SATA-150 160GB
Windows XP Pro with SP2 installed
.NET framework 1.1 (necessary for the latest Catalyst)
DirectX 9.0c
I have had my 1820m soundcard for about a year now and have always had one issue with it.When using an ASIO program such as Cubase SX2 my card behaves perfectly.However, if I then close the ASIO application and open another application such as an mp3/video player or a game when I next go back to Cubase SX2 (after closing the other application) the ASIO channels do not work.Cubase shows signal going out of its mixer but this does not reach the ASIO channel (the pair selected in VST Connections in Cubase SX2) in Patchmix.I can go to the VST connections dialog within in Cubase and if I switch to a different set of ASIO channels (any that are open in Patchmix but were not used previously,or any freshly created ones) then the sound works immediately.Unfortunately, I can obviously repeat this bug until I have the max number of ASIO channels available but none of them responding.This wasn't that much of a problem as I generally only used one stereo pair as I found that Patchmix couldn't really handle that many ASIO channels direct from Cubase so I just send the Master output to Patchmix.It was mildly annoying but I could live with it so didn't bother to complain.
However, this month I noticed that ATI had updated their Catalyst graphics drivers (to v5.12) and whilst looking on the internet I thought I should see if Emu had updated the Patchmix drivers and utilities.I saw that there had been an update (v1.81 Patchmix and v1.82 DAS drivers) so hoping this (as with all the other updates I had installed) would fix my minor little bug.As I had also installed my new graphics card drivers I thought I would try out a game too.Installed Morrowind and patched it to the latest update.15 minutes of play with my display looking fine but some really weird audio artefacts when trying to play the "jumping" sound. Other than the strange audio error (which occurs always) the game was fine until 15-30 minutes of play when I get the infamous SOD (or sample loop). My display then cuts out but my PC stays on and I must hard-reset it. These crashes also seem to corrupt files on my hard-disk every time it occurs. Knowing how buggy Morrowind has been in the past, it was only when I was running Morrowind (a 3D game) and the fact my screen was turning off made me think it was a graphical issue.Using ATI's specific Catalyst un-installer I removed all of the new Catalyst drivers and tried 3 different versions of Catalyst, v5.3 (what I had been using previously and had been stable), v5.6 (the driver listed as most current on the ABIT website), and v5.8 (one I had downloaded but never got round to installing). Each time all of the same problems. Fine in Windows with ASIO applications, mp3s videos etc. but run a 3D game and sample loop, system crash and then a hard reset.
So I search and I search on the internet and try everything suggested on all the gaming forums, still convinced it's a 3D issue when I come across the thread on the Audigy section (of these Creative forums) pertaining to this extremely similar problem. The thread has been closed now and was resonably unsolved as far as I could tell. Users were describing how EAX seemed to be causing these system lockups, which sound identical to ones I have. I am unsure as to the 1820m using EAX and if it does how to disable it. In game options I always set to low and I have tried disabling hardware acceleration in the Windows settign for the soundcard. I have noticed that my Promise SATA378 TX2+ onboard controller is (unfortunately) sharing the same IRQ (18) as my EMu-DSP but they are not sharing with anything else (AGP is on 16 I think). Is there a way to change this in Windows or will I have to re-intall without ACPI? My onboard sound is disabled in the BIOS along with my COM port and Parallel ports (who wants these old connectors now anyway ;]).I have tried the system with the 1394 adaptors and Gigabit adaptors disabled
in Device Manager just to see if these made any difference and there is no change.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated and thanks to anyone who managed to read this far.....sorry for the lengthy rant ;]

Thats's right I uninstalled the new Patch Mix drivers and application and went back to the stock ones supplied on the CD with the card and now no crashes in 3D games. I still have the weird ASIO channel loss as I had described in my previous post (the start to this thread). Unfortunately my IRQ is still shared between my SATA and my EMu 1820m but as the system isn't crashing it doesn't seem to be writing corrupt data to the disc. When I re-format I will use the IRQ reservation function on my mobo to keep a few empty IRQs and hope that the EMu will install into one of those.....wish me luck

Why is my iPod crashing and glitching more often?

I have an iPod touch 4g with IOS 6.1.2 but this problem started occurring when I had IOS 5.0.0 already. The iPod is slowing down in use and I’m doing more things to speed it up but nothing works. Now it's about the app real fishing 3d. Also other apps glitch and crash but this one is driving me crazy. I really have moments I want to throw my iPod out of my window. The first time I played the app nothing was wrong but it started to slow down. Right now it's too slow to function right. I can't play the app anymore, it's glitching so much that the screen reloads every 5 seconds and my fish is gone by then. Even apple's integrated apps cease to work. Right now I’m writing this on my computer because the keyboard on the iPod glitches too much. I have just got it a year and my warranty limit was last month. I can't bring it back or anything. Is backing up and resetting a way? I really don't know what to do. I never had to do anything and now I can't keep one app in the background without having trouble. Even closing background apps is hard because the iPod is too slow for taking note of the double home button press. Sometimes the home button says I’ve pressed twice when I didn't. I’m getting the newest iPod this summer but my iPod is my agenda for school so I can't miss it right now. Nothing changed on the app and some time ago it worked on IOS 6.1.2 but it's getting slower every day. Please help me out.

Try:

Premiere Pro on brand new MacBook retina 11,3 2014 crash and glitch

Ok, I've read a lot of post about the CUDA compatibility on new MacBookPro, and i don't have installed and don't use the cuda driver but only the OpenCL,
I have the MacBook Pro 11,3, 16GB Ram with NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB and 2,8 GHz Intel Core i7 Yosemite 10.10.2 installed on a 1TB APPLE SSD
It is brand new and i have only my AdobeCC installed;
Now I think it's not normal to see glitch on screen or jerky video during the video playback and crash of my premiere pro (2014.2 release, 8.2.0 (65) Build) or I miss something about the Yosemite compatibility?
PS. working with normal 1080p files, DSLR or similar not over 50 Mbps 422

so many problems i don't know where to begin... no access to email or instant crashing of email, most apps sticking, curser sticking making it impossible to dial phone numbers or text. phone is so useless all of a sudden. it was fine until a month after i downloaded os8. now there is no more space of for to update it further. wish i could go back to the way things were before the update. can i? thanks for any help.

Thanks for your response, but turning the unit off and on did not solve the problem..........in digging around I finally found that the MAC addresses on my portable devices had inadvertantly been filtered by the software.....it sure wasn't user-friendly. I do not know how this all of a sudden happened but when I "allowed" those blocked MAC's, all was well and I was able to get on the network with my PDA.

Crashes, graphics glitches, and more crashes when editing video clips

Can't for the life of me figure out why PE keeps crashing on me, so I'm here for help.
My system consists of a i7-970 hexacore, 6GB ram, 1x 500GB os drive, 3x500gb raid 0 drives (this is where my video clips are stored), 2x GeForce GTX460 video cards.
OS is Windows 7 Profressional 64 bit.
The video files I work with are generally in the 50-200GB size.
A little background - the videos that I am working with are recordings from Battlefield Bad Company 2 that I have recorded with some capture software called Dxtory.
I record at 1920x1080 at 60 FPS to avi files. The avi files are using the "xtor" codec (Dxtory's own codec)

[ISRC] Video:YUV420 Audio:Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Audio is PCM 192000Hz recorded in stereo.
Let me start by saying I have not had trouble with this before until I started recording the videos at 60 FPS. 30 FPS worked ok (some crashes here and there, but they were bearable), but the frequent crashes started happening when I started working with the 60 FPS videos, done mainly so I could play around with slowing the clips down, etc.
Sometimes I can open and edit clips just fine.
Recently, a project that I'm working on is crashing when I try putting two different clips from different files together on the time line. I managed to get it to work once, and saved the project after that. Then, PE crashed randomly and when trying to reopen the project, it just crashes and won't let me get any further.
I should mention the graphics glitches as well - occasionally (especially when previewing video clips before adding them to the timeline) after I close the preview window, the graphics in PE will glitch out, causing random lines to appear in certain areas, graphics to stack on top of eachother and freeze up, and sometimes I can click on the "play" button in the main project window and hear everything start playing, but the graphics are completely screwed up to the point where I can't view the video or hit the pause button.
All of my computer hardware is fine, all drivers, and PE, are up to date.
Can someone please help me figure out what is going on? I'll be happy to provide any more information that might help out.

The most likely issue is the codec that your program is using the create your video. It's apparently not compatible with Premiere Elements.
This often happens also when people try to record their on-screen video with FRAPS.
You'll see lots of discussions on this issue in the Premiere Pro forum. However, it's even more pronounced in Premiere Elements, which is designed to work almost exclusively with camcorder video.
Some video programs are a little more versatile with this type of video. Some people have found Corell's Video Studio better at handling these non-traditonal formats.
But I did a Google search on Dxtory editing and couldn't find any information on it.
Sorry I can't offer a solution. But I can pretty much assure you that Premiere Elements isn't it. sorry.

Thanks to everyone for the tips on my CS2 question. It turns out in the end it was some plug-in filter software that was causing the glitch, not a lack of an Adobe registration key. As for why he still uses CS2, it does the job for him, so that's all he needs.

PS CS3 Crashes and Won't Force Quit

Using Mac OS X 10.5.2 and latest PS. PS crashes and won't force quit. I have to reboot. Then after opening PS again and barely start editing a file (nothing else is running and I have 4GB ram) PS crashes again.
Also the reset password function on the Adobe site refuses to work and I can't get any support. This is getting really frustrating.

I assume you trashed your preferences? Look in your user Library/Preferences folder and delete your com.adobe.Photoshop.plist file where your preferences are stored. Other than that, I have no clue. Did you try editing different files to see if it could be just that one file giving you problems? I have been using PS CS3 for the past three days, and I have noticed a lot of instability which I didn't have with PS 7. Of course, new machine, new programs, I was expecting a few glitches, but hopefully the dust will settle soon and my workflow will become stable again.

Crashing and Lagging

Hi I have had a 32gb iPod touch 4th gen for about 2 years now, recently it has been glitching out quite alot;Most of the apps I have crash halfway through; even the in-built apple applications crash on me often:apps store, imessage, facetime,camera and music; Multi-tasking has become a big problem; if I have music playing in the background I cannot use another apps otherwise they both crash and it stops completely.
I have recently started to use a non apple charger for it, so now i have stopped using it as i thought that could be the problem, is there anything i could do maintenance wise to help the poor thing go faster and open apps properly??

Try:

IPod Touch videos won't show then crash and apps respond slow

Here's the deal, I bought his iPod a couple months ago, 3rd generation 64GB and I could put videos on it fine and they would come up and I could play them, now since I updated it with 4.2 or 4.1 software from iTunes everything's running slower. My iPod takes longer to respond when I open an app or it just crashes and brings me back home. My video (standard) app won't even show any of my videos, it's just a white screen and then crashes. What happened and how do I fix it?

I'm also having the same problem with the Videos app - interestingly enough, also with a 64GB 3rd Gen. Touch running 4.2.1 (build 8C148). Try to open Video app, it goes to white screen for a bit, then quits.
Checked out another thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12678404&#12678404) and experienced the same behaviors as well: temporarily works if you change languages; restoring as a new iPod does NOT fix issue; music videos seem to play fine (though it seems to repeat a video, rather than move on to the next); and all that.
The more I read about it, the more this seems to be a glitch in iOS. Moreover, it seems to be related to music videos somehow. Seems that the Music Videos and regular moves aren't playing nice.
While music videos do play in the Music app, that's not particularly convenient for me. Going off one of the posts in the above-mentioned thread, I'm going to tray a temporary fix of relabeling my "Music Videos" to "Movies". Seemed things went wrong when Music Videos entered the picture. While a work-around, for me it's a little more usable than the inverse.
Will report back whether or not this temporary fix works until Apple can release an update addressing this problem.

Crashes and Lock-ups

I have been experiencing crashes and lock-ups in Premiere CS4.
Last week I was running Encore to burn a DVD and when I noticed the processor was running flat out. I decided to run Core Temp to check the temperatures. At that point my encoding stopped and Encore locked up.
Now I usually have Core Temp start when I load Windows. I have now disabled it and when I ran Premiere last night guess what? No lock-ups. Now this is early days but I suspect Core Temp might be the problem. I hope so. I'll report back with my findings when I have had more time to experiment.
PS I'm running Windows XP SP3, Quad Core 6600 and 4Gb RAM

My macbook crashes and when I start it again, there's a crash report and I click on send to apple, after a minute or so it says failed to send to apple. It has happened many times and I think it's getting worse since I can't send any reports.

Don't worry or even bother sending the report, Apple doesn't want to hear about 10.5.x at all... if they eer did.
Copy & Paste a few lines here, maybe a couple dozen, we'll take a look.

Your content will only be where you put it. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. You should get the option to merge the data when you sync.

My old PC crashed and I ended up buying a new one. I was able to recover all my music from the old hard drive and restore it in itunes. I purchased a new album online thru itunes and added it to my library. When I tried to add the album to my 6th nano it wouldn't download. All the tracks are check marked and I can listen to the album on my pc but it won't sync onto the ipod. The new pc is authorized, any ideas?

You can only sysc with one iTunes library. The new computer is a new library. You have to restore your iPod on the new conputer and then sync.
