1820m Stereo inputs split into mono inputs?

Hi,
I want to split the stereo inputs of my 1820m into mono inputs so I can record multi-tracks on Cubase. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance.

When you set up a strip in PatchMix, it is seen from inside Cubase as a stereo ASIO channel regardless of whether you use both inputs. Pan one hard to the left, the other hard to the right, and then work out your VST connections in Cubase, and route (say) the one you panned hard left to a mono Cubase channel's input, and the one you panned hard right to a second mono channel etc., then you can record each input signal onto different tracks.

  • Audio stereo signal split into 3 or 4 stereo audio signals (in one single clip)?

    Hi,
facing massice transcoding issues when exporting a project I had to analyse the involved video/audioclips...
and found out that for some of the video clips the audio signals have been split into even 3 or 4 complementary stereo channels.
Note: Each channel contains just a part of the original signal. This is obviously due to cutting action ...
What can I do? I have no clue!
    My question:
How to get one single stereo audio signal (2 channels) out of this mess?
    Thanx big time,
    Oliver

Assuming we're talking about shorter takes and not a longer, spanned clip, I don't think what you want can be done in PP.  Nesting will always bring the audio over as one track.
You may have to skim the clip sequence in the Program Monitor and copy/paste the portions you want to use into a second sequence for output.  This will preserve the audio.

  • Split Stereo Channel Output into Left & Right

Is there a way to split the output of stereo channel strip (in this case, consisting of an EXS24 sampler, with some samples panned hard left) into two mono channels strips, auxes, or outputs (left and right)? For example, in Pro Tools you can select "Track > Split into Mono" to split a stereo track into two mono tracks, and control each resulting track independently. I'm talking about signal path, not splitting a saved AIFF or sound file. Is there a way to do this within Logic?

Route the output to a bus, then create two new aux channels and assign their inputs to that bus. At that point, you'll be getting the full stereo output routed to each of your two new channels. To split left and right, click-hold on the mono/stereo button at the bottom of the aux channels, and select "left" on one and "right" on the other.
    That should do it!

  • Split Stereo into Mono in Prelude

    Hi All,
I'm just trying the CS6 demos out, basically as I'd like to transition from FCP here at University.  I run 4 edit rooms, and I really love the idea of a seperate program for ingesting when teaching students the basic concepts. I also enjoy the rough cut making, which to my mind would be great for getting the students to concentrate on that side of things first, before getting bogged down in full video editing.
As I was playing through today, I noticed that the material when recorded onto the camera stereo file, can't be split in prelude.  On import to premier, if a rough cut, the clip has to be taken out of the sequence, then the tracks split to mono, then put back in the sequence.  This effectively makes the rough cutting a bit useless in many ways, unless just being used as a reference for the video editor.
I realise this is partly a premier issue, but as a newbie to the CS software perhaps I am missing something?  If material on a sequence could be split to mono at the click of a button this would be fine but it seems in premier it needs to be done at the clip level.

Thanks for the quick replies.  I'm impressed with the responsiveness.
Regarding mono tracks in my "one man shop" workflow:
Frequently, I use the 2 discrete channels that my Sony PMW-EX3 records for different inputs.  For instance, when recording an important interview, a lavaliere mic on one channel and a shotgun mic on the other channel of the same camera.  Those are 2 distinctly different sources that I can work with that give me redundancy if something breaks or has an unacceptable rustle in it.
The applications of this discrete channel thought process are many. Perhaps I have 2 talking subjects that I need audio for, but need to control them independently in post production.  It makes my life much easier to have them each on a mono track.  Perhaps I want a concert board mix on one channel, and the live audience heard on the other.  The combinations are endless.
Forcing the combination of 2 audio channels into stereo effectively cuts the audio resources of my camera in half unless I split the stereo back out to dual mono.
Also, Why would I want to combine these channels into stereo, only to split them out again for editing?  I want them in post production to be as close to the original, unmolested recording as I can get.   That allows me to have maximum control over them in post.  it's the same reason I wouldn't record the sources with reverb, or some other effect "baked in" to my recording.  I may not want it later, but at that point, it's too late.
If I expect to have a stereo output, it seems to me that the best place to add that is in Audition, or similar.  That way, I can shape it the way I want for the desired stereo effect.
Combining to stereo also creates a potential computer resource issue.  If I have to double a stereo track and pan one to the left, and one to the right in order to re mix them in post, I am effectively playing back 4 channels of audio data only to throw away 2 of them in the pan settings.
Plus, it just needlessly complicates my already complicated workflow.  I mean, let's face it.  "Easy to use" is a relative term.  Professional level video editing programs are inherently complex.
I'm willing to change my workflow if there's a better way to do it, but for what I do, a mono audio workflow seems FAR superior to a stereo workflow.
Again, I really appreciate the reply.

  • Mono input-stereo fx

I created a mono input with guitar amp inserted. I want to hear the guitar thru a stereo chorus. If I make a stereo input for the guitar, the guitar comes thru on 1 channel whilre the fx are stereo. How do I set this up?

    Hey,
    3 ways to create it!
    1) Online/Realtime:~ means, get a Multieffects or Guitar Amp that have 2 Output and 2 of the output record through and Audio interface (something like M-Audio Mobile Pre -USB).after recorded, pan the 2 tracks to Hard Left and Right!
    2) Record an single input Chorus effects tracks, copy the track and drag the copy's track further 2-3 ms and Hard pan the 2 tracks to Left and Right!
    3) is what our buddy recommended add the Stereo Plugin effects!
    Done.

  • What am I doing wrong- input vocals in MONO?!

Hey there- I managed to hook up the Rode NT-1 mike with the Focusrite Saffire interface and that is hooked up to the MacBook Pro via Firewire.
I have NO idea how I managed to hook them up and get them to sort of work but they do.
Only ONE problem- the recording of the vocal is in mono. That means that only one of the two green equaliser-style bars records any activity (http://img112.imageshack.us/img112/5515/monogb3hr0.jpg). As for the output? It is stereo on the backing track (input separately via iTunes) but mono on the vocals (both of the lines move and appear to be there but only the left speaker gives back the vocals). And that sounds rather sad...
Here (http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/5298/interfacerc1.jpg) is the image of the interface with the pink lines showing the settings of the dials- the top set of lights on the right are showing proper movement and the mike appears to be sending a signal to the interface OK but then what is the problem?
Can someone have a look at the two images and tell me what I need to consider?
    Thanks very, very much.
    15" 2.16GHz MacBook Pro & 20" 1.25GHz G4 iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I wish one could edit one's threads. I uninstalled drivers after unsuccessfully powercycling the interface.
Then I tried again. Nothing. Tested GB3's ability to RECORD sound and found that it worked.
Good- so GB 3 CAN record sound.
I then uninstalled drivers and reinstalled and just kept pressing buttons.
Now it works. Nothing like before- the lights do not move as much but then that may be a good thing...
You see- before I could see the lights on the interface go green as it picked up the voice in recording and then turn amber with the occasional red flicker which we tried to control. Sprog has a generally soft voice but with the headphones lost her shy and belted out before the evening was through.
    Now those lights barely move.
And well- they also barely register on the GB 3 dash (top)...
    But the voice is there.
I think my problem is that I am dealing with two new bits of hardware (Focusrite Saffire and Rode NT-1A, although THAT is just awe inspiringly sensitive and fragile) and two new pieces of software (GarageBand and the drivers for Focusrite) and the possible button and dial combinations are scary.
And add to that a very eager young lady who wants to test sing her early Christmas present (she is to record Christmas Is All Around for her family for fun) and you have a very steep learning curve.
Give me a The Sims problem anyday- I can tell you how to fix, cheat and hack your way out of practically any situation- on PC and Mac! LOL!
HangTime- if your site has more Idiot's Info For GB then I will be spending a lot of time there- I need to learn to do this SOON or else!

  • Two mono inputs

I'm using a Blue Yeti USB microphone and am recording vocals in mono.  I see two different mono inputs in the multitrack editor:
    [01M] Microphone (4 - Yeti Stereo Microphone) 1
    [02M] Microphone (4 - Yeti Stereo Microphone) 2
Why are there two and what is the difference between the two?  Which one should I be recording with and why?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Yeah, I have no trouble recording in mono.  My question is what is the difference between:
    [01M] Microphone (4 - Yeti Stereo Microphone) 1
    [02M] Microphone (4 - Yeti Stereo Microphone) 2
Both record in mono and I have no trouble recording with either of those two selected mono inputs in multitrack.  I just want to know if one is better than the other or not, and why.
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • How to input data into an arraylist from a text file?

I am trying to take data from a text file and put that data into an arraylist. First here is the text file:
    [item1, 10, 125.0, item2, 10, 12.0, item3, 20, 158.0]
    3
    4530.0
    [item5, 65, 555.5, item4, 29, 689.0]
    2
    56088.5
    [item7, 84, 34.5, item6, 103, 0.5, item8, 85, 1.36]
    3
3065.1The text between the [ ] is the output from my arraylists. I have three arraylists. The first [ ] belongs to arraylist A, the second to arraylist B, and the third to arraylist C. The format of the arraylists is this:
    <item name>,<# in stock>,<value of one item>
The first number below the arraylists in the text file represents the number of items in the list. The second number below the arraylists represents the total value of the items in the arraylists.

  • Safari quits or freezes when I input text into a login field

    Hello Everyone,
Heres the problem: Whenever I input text into some login fields (on pages I have been using for a long time w/ no previous problems), the app usually freezes, sometimes it quits. I have scoured the forums for people with the same problem, and have tried everything (reset safari, delete the ~library/preferences/com.apple.safari.plist file, I have followed the advice of an Apple article for determining the problem file, I have tried fixing keychain, I have repaired disk permissions, I have deleted & reinstalled Safari, all to no avail. Safari does work when I log in as administrator.
    Please Help!

  • How to input data into a table with columns?

I am trying to input data into a table.  My table have 5 columns and an unlimited amount of rows.  I created a program in LabView that enters the data into the table but it enters all of the data in one row.  I would like to enter the first set of information into the first column, the second set of info into the second  column and so on.  I am including a copy of the program that I am working with.  I would like the number of runs to be put into the first column (it should count down like number 5 in first row, number 4 in second row, number 3 in third row, and so on).  I would like the applied voltage to be placed in the second column, and so on.  Any help or information will be greatly appreciated.  I am working with LabView Version 6.1 and 8.0.  I am submitting the vi from 6.1.

    Pondered,
I looked at your code and I think you might be making things too complicated. I've included a very simple example that demonstrates how to write a 2D array of integers to a table. Hope you find this helpful. It is in LV 7.1.

I would like to know what version of Adobe acrobat can allow me to create a document, where clients can input data into it?
    Here is an online example

    Thanks.

If your users will be using Reader and you want your users to be able to save the form or email it, you will need to apply 'Extended Form Rights' (version 8 Provessional or Version 9 Standard or better) and for signatures you will need to apply 'Signature Rights' using an Adobe server product.

  • Is it possible to input itunes into DVI/HDCP input from imac with Apple mini display portS?

Is it possible to input itunes into DVI/HDCP input from imac with Apple mini display port? Or is there another way?

The problem with itunes is needing a computer running it. or continuous internet connection.
A Time Capsule is AC mains powered.. no battery. Although you can certainly buy an older Gen4 TC and modify it ...

I have run my TC on a 12V SLA battery.. which would neatly meet that part of the functionality you want. But it is heavy and not really the rugged sort of device I think you want.
But I would look at other media players and other ways of storing movies than iTunes.. if you want to carry the whole lot around with you .. A bunch of SD cards even you could plug into the ipad??
    External storage for iPad?
A small cheap PC/Mac laptop with a 1TB hard disk  in it.. and 11" or 13" screen.. can often be a much better solution than lugging around multiple items so you can fit Apple devices into your life.
