1841 SEC K9 with HWIC-2FE

Hi!
Is it possible to use the HWIC-2FE module into the 1841 SEC/K9 bundle? Using the online Cisco Dynamic config tool, HWIC-2FE is not listed as an option when you select the 1841. Does it mean that this configuration won't work? Thanks very much for your help!

Unfortunately the 1841 does not support the HWIC-2FE module. It only supports the HWIC-1FE module. See attached link for more details -

I'm not sure what you are referring to. How many VLANs can be untagged while the port is in access? Or how many VLANs can you pass on a trunk?

HWIC-2FE fails to pass ping packets greater than 449 in slots 0,1 on 3845

When we install an HWIC-2FE card in slot 0 or slot 1 of a 3845, the interface fails to pass any ping packet greater in size than 449 bytes. It works fine up until that limit is reached, but then fails completely on a larger size packet. If we move to slot 3 or slot 4 on the 3845, the card works just fine! I have looked through the cisco official bug tracker for HWIC-2FE, but could not find a similar symptom listed. We're running advanced ip services 12.4(24)T7 code on the routers. We're wondering if anyone else has encountered similar problems and may know if there's a software fix or if this is a platform problem with the 3800 series. Thank you for your time.

I'd be tempted to accept your response, but it doesn't explain why the card works when moved to another slot, without making any other changes. My impression is there's some kind of hardware/asic problem with those slots in the 3845.

Click Firefox shortcut - 4 secs delay WITH white screen, then firefox loads, also every new tab flashes a white blank page fOR half a sec.

Firefox 31, Windows 8.1, AVG, Spybot, dusabked addins ni change, used several suggestions on internet, nothing works. changed proxy settings to manual 127.0.0.1 and port as suggested - no change, could I have an NSA reroute of firefox?

Before doing anything I started Tor Browser Bundle, then exited. Started up Firefox – no 4 secs delay, very minor delay but no white page at all it seemed. Then clicked on the Open New Tab (x) and saw a white flash then the new tab – again a .5 sec delay or less before the new tab appeared.
Shutdown computer. Restarted and clicked on Fireforx shortcut. No blank white page anymore and no delay except for a very minor one.
But still had the white page flash when loading a new tab from the small x on the current page tab. Saw a white flash, then the new tab loaded. Shut down computer, restarted same problem with the new tab click on the small x - .5 sec or less white flash then tab loads.
Went into Firefox Add-Ons and disabled a number of items. Surprise no white flash on loading new tab. Decided to enable AVG PrivacyFix 5.0.11 – miracle, no white flash at all on clicking the small x on the current tab. loaded veryfast no delay there.
Will alert AVG of this issue. But still very surprised that the original main issue of having a 4 secs delay with a completly whtie screen with nothing on it except white disappeared after launching Tor Web Browser throws me for a loop.
Have not tried BlueHell yet and wonder why I should now in addition to the fact that AVG is certainly far superior to it. But if Bluehell does a better job than AdBlocker, willing to try it.

I Use motherboard MSI-6545(i850, with 3 USB 1.1 ports), printer HP Laserjet-1200 and scanner HP scanjet-5400. OS Windows Xp pro SP1.
2 cables USB are length 3m.
I have found that speed of downloading from scanner to PC and from PC to printer is about 400Kbytes/sec instead of 1500Kbytes/sec. Very very slow. Why?

PVDM2-12DM compatibility with HWIC-1CE1T1-PRI

I'm hoping someone can assist. The setup i am trying to get working is the following
User dials in over POTS to an ISDN30 Line. The ISDN30 line (3rd Party Supplier) is connected to our 2911 via a HWIC-1CE1T1-PRI module. We have inserted a PVDM2-12DM into the router to handle the POTS call.
Problem we have is that we cannot seem to get a modem tone when the user dials in. The ISDN line connects and the debug modem command shows the modem SETUP & INIT phase - see below

The ISDN line is working fine as a normal ISDN dial in is successful.
Has any one tried this before or is there a known issue with this solution?

Updated the IOS but made no difference. Turns out i was missing the line 'network-clock-participate wic 0' Added this to the config and managed to get incoming POTS calls. Only problem now is that the PITS call won't stay up for more than 5 seconds. Looking at the Modem AT registry settings.

[Cisco 1841] Being desperate with wireless config

hi guys,
I'm desperate in need of some help configuring my 1841 as a basic
access point.
First let me explain what I need it for. I need to connect my laptop,
using a wireless connection, to a device connected to one of the FE
ports.
I see the SSID in my Windows connection manager, but I can't connect
to the router. Als I think I need to set-up a route from the WIC to
one of the F! ports.

As Andrew said,
Add the bridge-group command to your Fast Ethernet interface. This should delete your IP address on the FE. Now your FE will be bridged to your wireless network. All IP addresses then, will be on the same subnet as your BVI interface. You will either need to assign IP addresses on the 192.168.10.0/24 statically for your hosts or you need a dhcp server on the 192.168.10.0/24 for your hosts.

I am trying to get NAT working on a Cisco 2801 with HWIC-4ESW.

I have a 2801 that had a failed Fe0/1 port. The Fe0/1 port was used to give sub-interface Fe0/0.200 access to internet. We installed a HWIC-4ESW into the 2801. I have successfully moved the sub-interfaces ( 0/0.1 , 0/0.100 , and 0/0.200 ) from the Fe0/0 to the HWIC-4ESW. I have reconfigured the Fe0/0 to connect to my ISP. However, I cannot get traffic from vlan200 to pass to the internet over Fe0/0. I have a guest wireless network set for vlan 200. Clients get an IP address in the appropriate range (192.168.200.0), but they cannot get to the internet. Below I have included the results of "sh ip int brief" and some of the "sh run". I think that it is something simple, but I canot get it working.
Help would be appreciated.

So, I just built this in the lab, and it seemed to work ok. I attached a sparse config, but it does let my host on the GuestWireless get the internet via NAT.

Query run in Browser 3 sec but with webpage is 60 sec

Hi,
When I run a query in the browser from the query screen, it takes 3 seconds to run. I created a webpage with only that query and blocks for conditions, exceptions. We access the webpage through the portal and it takes anywhere from 30-90 seconds to get the result.
We are on 3.5 using an ITS. Where should I start looking for the problem?

I would start with the portal. Check the log of your request in the Portal to check how long it takes to get authentified in your BI system from the portal, and how it takes to get the data transferred from BW to the portail iview....
The issue might come from the workload on the portal

1841 - 3G HWIC problem

Using Cisco 1841 router with HWIC 3G Module, Now I can ping any public IP address from the router, but cant browse the internet from PC.. through Ethernet or Dor11-WiFi.
How can I get DNS address automatically, or how can can I check if its already assigned to the router!! It looks like I have only IP address in the router.... Please look at attached configuration file and update if you have any idea.

Are you using your ISP DNS server or just any public DNS server? If you didn't use your ISP DNS server, try to use them. Using your own ISP DNS server should provide you with faster DNS response rather than just any public DNS server.
To find out your ISP DNS server (and other stuff), you can issue the following command on your router
show dhcp server
Make sure you are using the correct version of Cisco IOSÂ® Software. The 3G WWAN HWIC is supported on Cisco IOS Software Release 12.4(15)T and later.

AP-G-A HWIC not recognized in my 1841

I am having problems with my 1841 router recognizing my HWIC-AP-G-A wireles card. I am running the following IOS: c1841-advsecurityk9-mz.124-3g.bin. I have tried placing it in slot0 and slot1. Any ideas?

Hi Shawn,
Here is a clip from Ben's (from Cisco) excellent post (he knows ALOT more about this than I ever will :)
The HWIC-AP is supported with the 1841, but you must be running a 12.4T IOS image (in addition to the correct feature set). I'd suggest 12.4(11)T with Adv. Security or Adv. IP Services Feature Set. Make sure you meet the minimum memory requirements as well.
Your next best option would be 12.4(9)T2 with either Adv. Security or Adv. IP Services Feature Set."
