I would like to know if AIM-VPN/EPII-PLUS (at the moment installed in 2821 ISR) is compatible with 1841 modular router?

AIM supports 2 or 3 times without the card, so I assume if AIM can support 800 tunnels, without AIM will probably support around 250-300 tunnels.

I am also trying to find out what are the performance hits when adding 1 or more cFP-1808 to a system.

Use an ethernet switch to connect as much as you want.
The filedpoint system is low-speed I/O with 10Mbit ethernet you should see no performance hit imho.

VPN service module choice 7600-SSC-400 vs. SPA-IPSEC-2G

Need to decide between the two VPN service module: 7600-SSC-400 and SPA-IPSEC-2G for a 6509 sup 720 3bxl. Not sure what is the difference and couldnt find too much info just searching the internet. What would be the benefits of one or another?

You will need both. The 7600-SSC-400 is the carrier module of the SPA-IPSec-2G.

Interface module in GTS from Non-SAP system

Hi, GTS experts,
Can you give me some hint please.
Now I'm plannning to connect Non-SAP system to GTS.
Are there any interface modules or something in GTS?
At least, following objects & actions are to be transferred and maintenanced.
- business partner (customer or vendor in ERP)
- customs product (product in ERP)
- customs document & customs declaration document (document in ERP)

Some further info to what has been provided above, here is how the following function groups align with data from the ECC system:
/SAPSLL/API_1006 -> Business partners
/SAPSLL/API_6800 -> Customs documents
/SAPSLL/API_6850 -> Products
For each group there usually is a function module for individual or mass update, e.g.
/SAPSLL/API_6850_SYNCH
/SAPSLL/API_6850_SYNCH_MASS
The function modules in these function groups are remotely-enabled (i.e., they are BAPIs).
It is, thus, true to say that GTS can interface with non-SAP systems. Some GTS users have done this. But you have to use some sort of connector technology to build up the proxy and call the function modules (e.g. JCo) from your non-SAP system directly.

IP sec VPN service module

Hi All,
we have a VPN service module that doesn't support AES 256 bits. is there a way to overcome this limitation by uploading a key? how can we do it if feasible?

CRS-1 8-Port 10 Gigabit Ethernet Interface Module

How much is the back plane speed for a line card on CRS-1? Does using a 8-Port 10 Gigabit Ethernet Interface Module in CRS-1 have an oversubscription of 2:1, like the WS-X6708 in 7209 chassis?

CatC6K in VSS mode / interface modules provisionning after reboot

Hello,
I am using 2 Cat 6509 in VSS mode. Everything is OK. My problem is the following : it takes interface modules approximately 15 min to be detected and brought up after rebooting of one physical switch. Is this normal ? I found nothing in the documentation related to this point.
Is there any tuning available to reduce this time ?

Assume the installation disk is an OS X disk? If it's the original one that came with the system (grey-colored disk versus black retail disk) have you tried to hold the alt key down when you boot? This would allow you to choose the Apple hardware test. If you can do this, choose the Apple hardware test, click the arrow to the right, and when prompted choose the extended test. Does that give you any errors or messages about a hardware problem?
Are you able to hold the C key down when you reboot, to boot off the installation disk?

Gilson 307 pump which are connected via a system interface module 506C

I have a master's thesis received the task to control gilson pumps.
Unfortunately I have no experience with LabView.
It is generally possible to steer the pump? I read a lot and it will describe this is not possible. But I have a compoliertes Pogramm and unfortunately can not get the source code and the driver. There you can control the pumps.
Can one of you help. I would be very grateful.
hardware:
three Gilson 307 which are connected via a system interface module 506C. The interface module is connected via an RS232 connection.

Does EA6500 has any kind of built-in VPN interface and also built-in VLan configuration feature??

Choosing VPN interface

I finally got my Mac Mini server not long ago, and i love it, but i ran into a minor problem with the VPN.
Ill explain my network setup first:
- I have two separate WAN connections
-- WAN1 <==> Airport Extreme =en2=[ Lion Server ]=en0=[ internal network ]
The network that is behind the Airport Extreme only contains the server secondary interface.
-- WAN2 <==> BSD Firewall <==> Switch ==[ internal network ]
The network that is behind the BSD Firewall contains all out local machines, i do not want to punch any holes in this firewall.
This is where the en0 from the server is connected. En0 is also set as the server primary interface.
My thought behind this setup was to have VPN access for me and my friends to the network that is on WAN1, without letting them access
or see any of the machines located on the internal network.
The problem is that when we try to connect trough WAN1, we get no response at all.
- the correct ports are open on the Airport Extreme
- the VPN server is running
- its configured to assign IP addresses on the subnet of the Airport Extreme, none of these addresses can be assigned by the Airport Extreme.
- we tried to connect on the Airport Extreme´s subnet, same issues
If we connect from the subnet behind the BSD firewall
- no problem at all
The server will only let us connect to its primary interface(en0), any attempts connecting to its secondary interface(en2) using VPN is ignored.
Is there some way to choose which interface the VPN server should listen on?
I have looked at the output from running
$ sudo serveradmin settings vpn
but no indication of any setting that dictates the interface to which it should listen.
Is this something that is even possible to set or in other ways configure?

Yes it is. Not sure where it is in PDM, somewhere in the vpn options, but is probably a check box that says something about allowing inbound ipsec sessions to bypass interface access lists. Is this pix 6 or version 7? Oops, skimmed through too fast, you're doing pptp, don't think that will work. Post a clean config.

Choice of the interface module, for step motor

Router vpn interface

Hi,
I ususally use cisco asa to connect site to site vpn. The outside Eth0/0 intereface I ususally use for public internet static IP and eth0/1 to connect internal network.
For router. I have saw a lot of example over the web. It usually use FE0/1 for public internet static IP for both site to site VPN connection point and FE0/0 for internal network. Could you tell me why ? My concept is outside interface of FE0/0 must use for public IP address because the less security level. Please help to explain. Thank you

Hi,
The interface ID doesnt have anything to do with the interfaces security on its own. On an ASA the "security-level" is used to define which is the least secure interface (the one facing Internet), not the port ID.
You are free to use any physical interface on a Cisco Router or ASA to whatever purpose you want.
Most people tend to use the port with the ID 0/0 for "outside" and the others for local network connections.
There is nothing stopping you from using something different.

1841 VPN Problem

Hi All
I've just remoted into an 1841 router to set up a VPN but found to my surprise no commands available to set it up, ie. crypto isakmo policy n and the following subsequent commands are not available. Checking the flash there seems to be all the files I presumed would enable me to create the tunnel.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You would need the advance security feature set for VPN configuration.
At the moment, you are running "broadband" feature set only.

1841 VPN-AIM Maximum IPSec Tunnel Test

The Cisco website states that an 1841 w/VPN-AIM will support up to 800 IPSec encrypted tunnels. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps5853/products_data_sheet0900aecd804ff58a.html
When I do my own IPSec tunnel scalability test it fails at 255. I'm fairly new to working with IPSec and VPNs so I'm probably missing something in the config. Any chance one of you could look at the attached config and see if you find anything wrong? Much appreciated.

The 1841 router cannot support upto 800 tunnels, this number is huge considering other available alternatives. You should contact your Cisco local account manager and verify the maximum tunnels that the 1841 router could support.
