1921 ISR certificate request not valid

I'm trying to perform a certificate request on a 1921 router.  I've followed the wizard using Cisco Configuration Professional several times.  First I created a 2048 RSA key pair, then used the "Cut-and-Paste" wizard in CCP to generate the CSR using that keypair.  When pasting the text into Godaddy's CSR window, Godaddy responds with "Invalid CSR submitted. Please re-create your CSR and submit your request again".  Done this numerous times tweaking this and that with no success.
I've tried adding the  "-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----" and "-----END CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----" but that has not changed the behavior.
Anyone seen this before?  I've Googled it to death and can't find a solution.

Hi.  Yes, it's for an SSL cert.  Just moments ago I got it to work, but only after running the CSR through one of the online decrypters.  I was trying to make sure the encoded information was valid.  One of the decrypters automatically reformatted the text, and added the header and footer lines I mentioned above.  Only after copying THIS text and pasting into the GoDaddy window was the CSR valid.  Very weird.  I attempted this process no less than 25 times and was about to tear my hair out.
I can't say what the problem was but some for of reformatting the CSR output was required before GoDaddy would accept the CSR.
The output that worked, and my output, look exactly the same.  Not just characters, but formatting, etc. including the header and footer lines.
This should be a very repeatable issue.  Anyone with a router and a copy of CCP can see the issue.
At any rate, problem is solved for now, but I can't say what the solution actually was.

  • The certificate is not valid and cannot be used to verify the identity of this website

Question posted in Stack Overflow too: java - How to solve "The certificate is not valid and cannot be used to verify the identity of this website" error? - St…
The question is, How to solve "The certificate is not valid and cannot be used to verify the identity of this website" error?.
    Here are the details:
I have a signed applet that has been working fine, until I updated Java to 8u25 (1.8.0_25-b18). Now, the application shows an alert message "Do you want to continue? The connection to this website is untrusted". There is a note in this message too, "The certificate is not valid and cannot be used to verify the identity of this website".
The applet is loaded without problems. But when the user tries to use a specific function of that application, the warning message is displayed.
I've checked the java console when this happens, and this warning message is displayed right after these lines:
security: Obtain certificate collection in SSL Root CA certificate store
security: Invalid certificate from HTTPS server
network: Cache entry not found [url: https://sub.domain.net:9876, version: null]
The application is downloaded from a different domain, say "https://app.domain.net/ .....", so no jars are downloaded from "https://sub.domain.net:9876 ", but the applet connects to "https://sub.domain.net:9876 " to send/receive data.
The applet is signed correctly, and so far, it meets all the security requirements according to Java. This issue seems to happen when the application tries to connect internally with an HTTPS url like https://sub.domain.net:9876. That sites' SSL certificate is valid, issued by GoDaddy and has not expired.
Again, this started to happen after updating my JRE to 8u25. I've tested adding the offending URL to Java security exception list, with no success.
Here are a few screenshot of this problem:
This is the warning message displayed:

For what it's worth we discovered what the issue was.  When we installed the new certificates onto our servers we also discovered that you have to install the certificates of all intermediate servers listed in your certificate.  This mean that all URLs listed on your certificate, have to have the intermediate certificate for the certificate authority installed.  This also includes all the Alt Names of your domains, even if they do not use the applet.

  • Why, as of last night, do I keep getting the message that the security certificate is not valid on sites I use all the time, like my hotmail account, paypal, facebook, etc?

I even got that message when I tried to post my question! It says that Firefox cannot verify a secure connection with mozilla, or whatever website I'm trying to visit, because the security certificate is not valid. It even gives the dates that the certificate will be valid, and the date shows that it is valid. So frustrating!! I have to "override" Firefox every time.

I have the same problem but I've corrected the time on my windows clock and I still got the same problem. Do you know if there's anything else I can do?

I have tried to generate a certificate request on my domain joined Windows 2012 R2. I have tried both online and offline requests. I am using the web server v2 template.
Both Method fails with error message that the cryptographic algorithm is unknown. I am using these settings apart from the template:
This is the error Message in online request:
The error Message in the offline request is somewhat similar.
An event error is also appearing in the application log:
    The CSPs from the template:
I am wondering if a cryptographic service provider or several of them are missing? They are installed With Windows update are they not? The strange thing is that this supposedly have worked before with another user. Could it be that I do not have the
correct permissions to request a certificate with this template, or has something happened with the server?

    Hey dag
    Thanks for posting ,
If You try duplicate the web template for using it in version 4 - can You see any difference?
Also check the link below for certificate templates versions:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/13303.windows-server-2012-certificate-template-versions-and-options.aspx#Version_4_Certificate_Templates
In previous operating system versions the configuration of CSPs and KSPs were on different tabs in the certificate properties. For version 2 certificate templates, CSPs were configured on the Request Handling tab. For version 3 certificate templates,
KSPs were configured on the Cryptography tab. Starting in Windows Server 2012, the configuration of the providers is consolidated on the Cryptography tab. To learn more about the cryptographic provider options present in previous operating systems

  • "Distribution Certificate is not valid" - error downloading the ZIP file from App Builder

    Hello everybody,
I'm trying to download the Distribution App (.ZIP) from App Builder.
    - The App is made with a Professional account
    - The app is a Multi-folio for iPad-iPhone
    - The App has the Push notifications option activated
    - I made a couple of Push Certificates (production + developing), I checked on Apple Keychain and they are valid (green dot)
    - I made a new App ID with Push Notification option enabled
    - I made a couple of mobileprovision files (production + developing) based on the App ID and
    - I download the .IPA and it work
The App Builder report this error: "This is not a valid Apple Distribution Certificate"
    Any ideas?
Is this related to the Pro account and the fact that I made another App for Android?
Has someone the ability to try using the same settings to understand if it is a bug or a real issue?
    Thanks,
    Andrea Spinazzola
Ps.: Obviously, we are on deadline...

    Hi Neil,
as you can imagine reading my list, I already do everything you suggested to me.
So It's not my mistake, I need to know if it is a bug or a known behavior.
When I'm talking about Pro Account and Android App, I mean that a Pro Account is for only one "project" (no more infinite Apps as in the past) and due to a content issue, I had to create two Application Account with two different Adobe ID and emails.
    Is this the cause?
I appreciate every help that could solve my problem but just to let you know, I work on DPS since it start and this is about the fifteenth apps that I did in the last 5 years, so I know exactly how it works.
Have you tried to reproduce my list of thing?
    It works for you?
    Yes?
    No?
I have a problem, i can't generate with DPS App Builder "App distribuzione.zip" to be sent to Apple to publish APP, this is the error message: is not a valid distribution certificate Apple. What do I do?
Same problem, same answers, same unsolved problem.
I made new certificates (it was the first thing I did) and It doesn't work.
    Thanks.
    Andrea

Is there anyone I can hire as a consultant to get my simple apps done. I really think adobe should give us multitouch code snippets to just use in our projects. Looking for code like sherlock holmes is kind of a drag especially for someone like me that is more a creative type and has minimal action script experience.
    Thanks in advance.

I originally generated the key, certificate etc on a mac at uni, i read somewhere on this page that its probably a problem with using the mac to generate these things so i downloaded OpenSLL and done it through that and it all works finme, just trying to install the app now onto the ipod but now thats pissin me off, thanks though

  • This certificate is not valid (host name mismatch)

How do I fix this error message? Safari can't verify the identity of the website ....keeps saying the certificate in invalid.

Normally a button appears "Trust..." (can´t remember what does it say exactly).
And there's also an option to always trust the certificate.

  • I try to log in icloud to check if I can use Find my Iphone but the page doesn't work. There appears that trusted certificate is not valid. I want to know why...

    I have a Iphone 5 with IOS 7

If you are using mobile safari on the iphone to access icloud.com, then that won't work.  Mobile safari can't log into icloud.com
What you need is the Find My iPhone app at the app store.  It's free.  Download it and use that.

  • Cannot install applications because the certificate for .... is not valid

    Hello,
We have an in house enterprise app that can no longer update.  We have taken the steps outlined here.  These steps include installing a SSL certificate on the server from a trusted CA (GeoTrust) that shows as valid in Safari on OSX.  Also the http to https redirect has been setup and verified in Safari and FireFox.  Addtionally, the plist file's XML has been manually updated to point HTTPS.  New installs work on iOS 7.1 without an issue.
However, the program has automatic updates that fail with the message "Cannot install applications because the certificate for .... is not valid".
The update process works like this:
A Plist file exists on the server that contains the version number of the build on the server.   The app will download the file and parse it into a NSDictionary then the verison into an NSString.  If the version doesn't match the current version then the user is prompted to install updates.
When the user says yes to the prompt a UIApplication is sent the Open URL message with a hard coded download URL that looks like this:
    imts-services//?action=download-manifest&url=http://www.example.com/app/Release.plist
On iOS 7.1 the user will receive the message "Cannot install applications because the certificate for example is not valid".   This error occurs even thought the certificate is valid.  It almost looks like the URL isn't respecing the redirect from the server.
Has anyone else seen this?  Is there a work around for it?  Or do I have to redeploy the app (with an HTTPS in the hard coded URL)?

kkoishi, cskimble, OS 7.1 update forced all software installation services to use the HTTPS protocol instead of HTTP. Here is Apache config that adds certificate support and code for changing links in existing *.plist files automatically: http://cases.azoft.com/how-to-fix-certificate-is-not-valid-error-on-ios-7/

  • Site Recovery Manager (SRM) v6.0 fails to pair sites - certificate chain not verified

I have used the default self-signed certificates throughout the vCenter and SRM setup.  When going to pair the vCenters, I get "Server certificate chain not verified".  These are 2 new VCSA 6.0 VMs (embedded PSCs for each) and 2 new Windows 2012 R2 servers to run SRM 6.0.  I can view the Site in each respective vCenter but can't pair them.  Does anyone have suggestions?  We have tried valid SSL certs before on our original 6.0 deployment and continuously run into these certificate chain not valid errors.

Yes, I always used the FQDN.  This issue was actually the result of having an incorrect vCenter topology.  The error resulted in us spending hours with support all around valid or self-signed certs.  In the end, I had to completely redeploy new VCSA 6.0 appliances and follow the 3rd recommend topology.
    http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2108548
With this setup, it also links the vCenters and it seems to be much quicker than Linked Mode in previous versions.  I was able to pair the sites in SRM without issue.  FYI, I am using self-signed certs all around at the moment.  SRM is very finicky about trust with SSL certs so I won't try implementing valid SSL certs until I get some working failovers.

  • Can i disable security warning about not valid cerificate?

    Message looks like this:
"The certificate is not valid and cannot be used verify identity of this website.
This application will be blocked in a future Java security update because the JAR file manifest does not contain the Permissions attribute. Please contact the Publisher for more information."

Did this also happen with older versions of Java or is this the first time you visit the website?
You should only make changes to the security setting in Java if you really trust this website and only for testing as this makes you vulnerable to security exploits.
You can try to clear the Java cache.
