$199 only for those eligible for an upgrade?  Is tihs true?

While browsing the AT&T site I came across a little diddy of an asterisk. Namely, that for current AT&T customers have to wait to be upgrade-eligible to get the $199/299 price.
Is this common knowledge, because I've read A LOT about this phone release and have just now come across this information.
And I'm a little miffed.
What's the story?

This is true.
No different from any new phone when introduced that is subsidized by at&t.
When a new phone becomes available by any cell phone manufacture that is subsidized by at&t, existing subscribers can purchase the phone at the subsidized price if they are eligible for upgrade pricing on a new phone.
Existing iPhone owners under contract qualify since the first generation iPhone was not subsidized by at&t in the traditional way.

  • Network timeout only for library upgrade items

I purchased an upgrade of my library, which totals 430 songs. The purchase went through fine, but when I would try to "check for downloads" so I could download the items, I kept getting "network timeout" errors. I ran the diagnostics, and after sending a support request, I was told it was probably my third-party firewall (even though it was properly configured and I had always been able to download without a problem).
I uninstalled the firewall and related security software, and when I continued to have trouble I was advised to disable all startup items. I did that, and even disabled Windows Firewall (which also was properly configured for iTunes), and I continued to get the same result.
I re-enabled the startup items and the Windows Firewall, and, just as an experiment, I tried purchasing an album from the store. The purchase went through and the album immediately downloaded without a problem. After that, I tried again to "check for available downloads." (Incidentally, iTunes shows there are 430 downloads available.) I again got the same error.
It seems clear, at this point, that I am able to connect and download, but there is something wrong on the other end of this deal that is preventing me from downloading the music I paid for. I am getting extremely frustrated, because by now I have spent hours and hours trying to get the music I paid for.
Anyone else experience anything like this, where the "update library" purchases seem to be the only thing you can't get to?

I was finally able to have the issue bumped up to a Senior Tech, who was able to help me. According to him, some ISPs have a problem with very large downloads. Over the course of several days, we broke the library upgrade into smaller chunks, with him placing the songs into the queue.
We did have a further problem at one point where some of the "upgraded" songs were duplicates of the m4p files (rather than the unprotected files). We never figured out the problem there, but he re-placed all 430 of the upgraded songs in my download queue, and this time the whole set of 430 downloaded.
So I'm not sure why it would work that time, if it was my ISP causing the difficulty, but whatever. It only took about three weeks of work and a hundred bucks or so, but I now have the items able to be upgraded.
I have to give a big thumbs-up to the techs I finally dealt with when I took matters into my own hands and called AppleCare--going through the ExpressLane was useless and a waste of time. Notody even reads the emails--all you get are form replies telling you to do what you already say you have done.

  • Only send those records in report where expression is True

    Hi,
I have created a formula with two formula variables on Dates. The expression in formula is Solved Date < Due Date.
This results in report showing 1 and 0 (1 where expression is true and 0 where expression is false)
But in BEx query designer is there any way to send only those records in report where expression is 1 (true)
    Thanks
    Ahmad

    Hi Ahmad,
You can suppress zeros changing the query properties in rows/columns tab. If you select effect on rows, it doesn't show 0 values in the report. This will work if you have only that KF in your query, if there are any other KFs and you still don't want to show other rows then you can use conditions as seshu has mentioned.

I recently purchased LR 4. Am I eligible for an upgrade to LR 4?

Probably not. Adobe will inform us all when LR5 is released, but based on past experience, only people who purchased LR4 within 30 days of the release of LR5 get free upgrades.

  • Eligible for Sprint upgrade

I purchased a Blackberry Style two years ago through Best Buy with Sprint as the carrier.  I am now eligible for an upgrade.  I am considering switching phones to the Samsung Galaxy 3.  On the Sprint website the cost of the upgrade phone is $199.  The phone is currently being sold through Best Buy for $99.  What would be the actual cost of the phone to upgrade in a Best Buy store?

Hello and thank you for visiting us. Currently we are running a promotion where you can save up to $100 on the Samsung Galaxy S3. If you are eligible through Sprint,  you can get the Galaxy S3 for $99.99 w/ 2 year activation. Check them out here:

I saw the commercial about upgrading to the iphone6 and also chatted with a rep about it. She explained how the trade in works. Neither she not the commercial says anything about being eligible for an upgrade. So another wasted trip to Verizon. I will be eligible for upgrade in Feb 2015. I have the 5s in excellent condition. If I am willing to extend my contract for another 2 yrs I don't see why it should matter about an upgrade. I think I should be able to trade in and get reduced price. Just another ripoff but at least they could tell you upfront what is expected before a trip is made..

You don't need to be eligible for an upgrade to take advantage of the trade-in. You can still get the $200 off on the trade in, however I think that offer may have already expired. The $200 off would simply be on the full retail price which starts at $650.
You have to be eligible for an upgrade to get a discounted phone, but that has ALWAYS been the case. The commercial says NOTHING about waiving that requirement of the contract you had already signed. The trip was wasted ONLY because you were hoping to get out of your contract when NO indication you would be able to do so was given.
Verizon doesn't "extend" contracts as you would like because Verizon would have people with 10 year contracts and an ETF of over $1000 if they chose to leave. Of course, people would then complain about that.
    Example:
Sign a 2 yr contract and have a $350 ETF.
After a year, you want a new phone and extend the contract 2 years(3 years total now) with another $350 ETF, bringing the ETF up to $350 + $350 - $120 = $580
After a year, you want a new phone and extend the contract 2 years(4 years total now) with another $350 ETF, bringing the ETF up to $350 + $580 - $120 = $810
After a year you want a new phone and extend the contract 2 years(5 years total now) with another $350 ETF, bringing the ETF up to $350 + $810 - $120 = $1040.
ONLY 3 years after signing your original contract someone could easily be locked in with a 5 year contract and a $1040 ETF for a single line. Verizon would be CRAZY to allow people to do this.

  • Can you trade in your iphone5 for the iphone 6 if you are not eligible for an upgrade?

I want to take advantage of the iphone trade in offer Verizon is offering, can I do this if I am not eligible for an upgrade yet?

    No.
Either wait it out for your upgrade time, or switch to a Verizon Edge plan (you have to turn in your iPhone 5 in lieu of ETF fees).
With Edge, you don't get anything in return for your phone, except out of your current contract.

I have an iphone4 and that I have had for four years and they are saying that I am not eligible for an upgrade until the end of July 2015. That is four years and 3 months after I purchased this phone. "Customer service" said I had an upgrade at the end of July 2013, which I did not. She said that in the system my husband took an upgrade July 29th 2013. He didn't even have a Verizon phone, he had a work phone with T-mobile. I have asked what device he supposedly upgraded to since no phones have been activated and we all still have our same phones and numbers. Remember at the time, said husband had a work phone with T-mobile. I still have the very same phone as do all of the rest of my family members. No one has upgraded. I spoke with "customer service" for more than a half an hour today, Char promised me that her supervisor (Emily) would call me back by 7:30 tonight to clear up this problem. Well guess what? No call back so where should I go from here? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

someone swapped upgrades.  Phone could have been sold For quick cash.

I want to know when I am eligible for an upgrade?

Hi RJ1950. I'm delighted that you're looking into your upgrade. It's an exciting time waiting for a new phone! Both tikibar1 and jimfitzgerald were right, you can log into My Verizon http://bit.ly/xB4iTc and see your phone's upgrade eligibility from the home screen under the usage section. Is there something I can help with while you look into your upgrade?
    Thank you

  • Solaris 10 5/08 live upgrade only for customers with serviceplan ?

Live upgrade fails due to missing /usr/bin/7za
Which seems to be installed by adding patch 137322-01 on x86 according to release notes http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-4078/installbugs-114?l=en&a=view
But this patch (may also be the case for Sparc patch) are only available for customers with a valid serviceplan.
Does this mean that from now on its required to purchase a serviceplan if you would run Solaris 10 and use the normal procedures for system upgrades ?
    A bit disappointing ...

  • Where can I get a manual for Photoshop Elements 10? Am I eligible for an upgrade to 11?

I bought my Photoshop Elements 10 last September 6th of this year and I was wondering where I could get a printed manual for the program or PDF that I could print. It is hard watching a video and then doing what they did. I would like a printed manual so I just look at the instruction and then do it. Also am I eligible for an upgrade to 11? If so, how much is the cost?
Thanks for any response to this.

  • FAQ: I'm eligible for an upgrade to Revel Premium. How do I get Revel Premium on all of my devices?

Q: I’m eligible for the upgrade to Revel Premium. How do I get Revel Premium onto my computer and mobile devices?
A: To get Revel Premium, first you need to download the Revel app to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Then simply log in to Revel with your Adobe ID and password, tap or click the Settings menu, and you’ll see that your account has been credited with a complimentary one-year subscription to Revel Premium.

This is a legitimate question.  I cannot get Creative Cloud running on the computer I use primarily.  I cannot use Photoshop, FlashBuilder or Lightroom on any computer because Creative Cloud broke them.  My Adobe products are non-functional.  I have the purchases listed on my Adobe license list so I have evidence I purchased them.  I purchased them from Adobe.
I'm willing to work with tech support but they have been unable to help.  The installation of Creative Cloud has consumed massive amounts of time but has been unsuccessful.  The new error breaking my non-CC products was passed off despite being purchased from Adobe.

  • Why OS 5 upgrade only for BIS subscribers?

I have blackberry curve 8520. OS ver 4.6.something
I want to know why  the OS 5 upgrade is only for BIS subscribers and not common blackberry users?
I mean we also paid the price for the phone and we also want most out of the bb. If blackberry considers the BIS subscribers the only customers then why sell the phones to others as well.
If blackberry want to decrease the number of bb admirers and users, then its a good step to limit the OS upgrade to only BIS users, otherwise whats the point of limiting the update to only BIS?
Dont they want the blackberries to look and work cool, at least compared to other cellphone giants.

    I do not agree,
    1. I should not have to pay  for newer versions of my firmware, paying them to fix what they messed up in the first place, i did not have phone until now that charged for something like that(even apple gives it away freely).
2.BIS is very expensive i WILL NOT pay 9 euro+VAT for 5 MB transfer. At these prices they might as well steal your money out of your pockets.
Wow. Where to start on this one.
First off, you are not paying for a newer version of the device software. You must pay for BIS to utilize all the features that your Blackberry has to offer, such as having your e-mail pushed to your phone, having the entire internet at your fingertips whenever you want, wherever you are. You are WASTING your Blackberry by not having BIS or BES. I'd be willing to bet that 99.9999% of Blackberry owners pay for BIS or have BES, and the other 0.0001% are the idiots who buy a blackberry to "look cool". That is not what these devices are made for, or marketed as. If you want a "cool" phone, go get a Samsung touch-screen, or an iphone.
