1st gen, 2.0: exchange over http - possible?

on my PC, I've set Outlook to connect over HTTP when not on the corportate premises / VPN.
Any way to duplicate this setting on the phone?
Thanks,

I think I recall seeing another poster say that you need to uninstall iTunes 7.7 (ie, go back to 7.6) and then use iTunes to restore your iPhone. As iTunes 7.7 is required for iPhone 2.0, iTunes 7.6 will restore your iPhone to 1.1.4.
Hope that helps!

  • Connecting to Exchange over http??  Entourage 1 Mail 0....

    Hi
It seems like Mail can't connect to MSExchange over http - I can get Entourage to connect and sync, but Apple Mail steadfastly refuses.
My Exchange server does not provide IMAP or POP3, and the Exchange server seems inaccessible from everything except outlook. However, Entourage allows me to use the OWA web address as the Exchange server - but Mail seems to allow it, but not work with it.
Any ideas if anyone has successfully received email from an Exchange account using a web address rather than a servername?
    Regards
    Shaun

    Hello Shaun.
My Exchange server does not provide IMAP
The following was copied from Mail Help.
An Exchange account allows you to connect to your Exchange server via IMAP, and if you enter text in the Outlook Web Access Server field, Mail filters non-email related content from the server. (You can get the text you need to enter from your mail account provider.) For Exchange to work with Mail, Exchange administrators need to configure the Exchange server for IMAP access. Some system administrators may refer to an Outlook Web Access Server as an Internet Information Services (IIS) server.
I don't believe there is any way around the requirement for configuring the Exchange Server for IMAP access.

  • 1st Gen TC and newest Airport Extreme

I purchased a new AE and have it as my base station.  It replaced a 1st Gen Time Capsule.  Is it possible use that TC to get wireless backups from other clients and use the AE as the main router base station?  Or what capacity can that TC be used, now?
    Thanks
    jf

The TC can be configured to "Extend a wireless network".
In this type of setup, the TC will provide more wireless coverage in the area where it is located. As you might imagine, the TC must be located where it can receive a strong wireless signal from your Express to function correctly.
Your Macs will be able to backup using wireless....or, if you have a large backup and want things to go much faster, you can connect the Mac directly to the TC using an Ethernet cable.

My question was if there is a solution -or not- that faces this kind of issues. It is not clear if you are talking about Sun Solaris or x86 Solaris.
I don't know if it makes any difference, but it might.
Maybe your question is: why this guy wants to do something like this? No. I am not concerned with that.
Just trying to help you ask the right questions.
And maybe you will find the answers yourself once you have the right questions.
I'm integrating some biometric solutions on Sun Access Manager. But the biometrics vendor only provides windows ocx's and DLL's. And Access Manager is running in a Solaris box.
I want to know if I can do something by myself or just tell the biometrics vendor that they must provide a Java solution.
I have been trying to find something on the web, but I asked this forum because maybe someone has tried to do something similar. The suggestion by jschell is probably your most promising option.
Integrating the .dll files with Java on a Windows box
and communicating between Access Manager / Java on the Solaris box and your Java code on the Windows box
    (possibly using RMI).

  • XML over HTTP using BPEL (not using SOAP)... is this possible?

    Hi there.
We're trying to expose a BPEL process which will be exclusively triggered from a HTTP POST. The Client Partner Link in the BPEL process models Oracle's Transparent PunchOut standard. This standard is strict XML-over-HTTP, SOAP is not involved.
However, I am getting issues when I POST the XML to BPEL. It is telling me that it requires a SOAPAction in the header. Again, the design dictates that this is raw XML over HTTP, so we are not to use any SOAP specific header values nor any kind of SOAP wrapper.
I deployed the sample 'HTTPPostService' process which was delivered with BPEL. I am seeing the same error when I try to POST XML to this process as well. I get a response (in a SOAP wrapper) saying that it wants a SOAPAction in the header. The WSDL used to create this sample process clearly does not bind to SOAP, (there are no mentions of the SOAPAction in the operation, etc) so I do not understand.
So, my question is: Is is possible to POST raw XML to a BPEL process? Or does BPEL require all processes to follow the SOAP 'protocol' ?
    Thanks for any help.

  • Is it possible to replace the internal wifi antenna in a itouch 1st gen with a stronger internal wifi antenna from a slightly newer model, such as a 2nd or 3rd gen itouch?

Is it possible to replace the internal wifi antenna in a itouch 1st gen with a much stronger internal wifi antenna from a slightly newer model, such as a 2nd or 3rd generation itouch?

That is not very likely as the antennae are different physical designs and fit will be an issue.

Does adding this component require a reboot or interrupt Exchange functionality?

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, there is no need to reboot the Exchange server 2007 when you install the Windows RPC over HTTP Proxy component.

  • Dropped my ipod touch 1st gen on the floor and now it completely doesn't work. Since the first generation is discontinued, could I exchange it for a newer version?

My iPod Touch 1st Generation fell off the bed and now does not work. The screen didn't crack or anything but it won't turn on or do anything. I tried resetting it but that did not help at all. The computer recognizes when the iPod is plugged in but the iPod does nothing. I was wondering if I could exchange it, but since the 1st gen iPod is discontinued, could I exchange it for the newer version? Or even just return it?

You can only turn it into your local Apple store to be recycled for a 10% discount towards the purchase of a new one.  That's it though.

  • RPC over HTTP trouble Exchange 2013/2007 coexistence, 2013 RPCProxy cannot ping GC.

I currently have an Exchange 2013/2007 coexistence scenario which gives me trouble with the RPC over HTTP part with users with a 2007 mailbox. the MS RCA website performs 2 tests with the MAPI address book endpoints, once against a 2007 mailbox server and

    Hello togehter,
if anyone is using the Interim Update (Hotfix) "Exchange2013-KB2997209_2997847-x64-en.msp" please be aware of the following bug in this hotfix:
NOTE: Another issue that we have seen only from some E2013 On-Premises customers who installed
fixes for any of the above E2013 CU6 related issues is that “Using OWA, users cannot create new messages or reply to existing messages” – These are mostly installer issues where OWA files are not copying correctly in the new version directory. Ideally the
content of these two folders, i.e. “V15\ClientAccess\Owa\prem\15.0.995.31” and “V15\ClientAccess\Owa\prem\15.0.995.29” should be identical, now if for any reason, they are not then it can break the OWA experience like described above. Take these steps if you
    run into related issues:
-Backup the contents of “15.0.995.31” folder to a different folder/directory
-Copy the files and folders from “15.0.995.29” to “15.0.995.31” folder – this should fix the issue …
    Best,
    Martin

If there were older versions of those apps that worked with iOS 5, you can try:

  • Outlook 2010 RPC over HTTP to Exchange 2003 users remain disconnected after login

    Greetings Guys,
I am unable to find a solution, Windows 2003 DC, Exchange 2003, all user were working great, RPC over HTTP, until Tuesday at about the same time perhaps before the MS update  KB3002657
all remote users using outlook 2010 did not have authentication popups as was noted from this KB. But instead all login successfully, ( looking at  the security logs in the exchange) , but all are remaining disconnected, immediately after login.
The users had already been configured with the registry DefConnectOpts RPC key, so I doubt their Outlook profiles are the problem.
I suspect the DC's ( we have 2 ) or the exchange have picked up an issue. I am out of ideas.
    Any help would be awesome
    Barry

    Hi,
According to your description, I understand that Outlook(Outlook Anywhere) client display disconnected after install MS update KB3002657.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
KB3002657 is a security update to prevent attacker logging on to a domain-joined system and being able to monitor network traffic. More details about this update, please refer to:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/ms15-027
For your question, please try to reconfigure a Outlook profile for testing.
If it works, you can try to below steps to pop sign in page in Outlook client:
    1. Open Outlook---> File and click “Account setting”, then select account name and click “Change”.
    2. Click “More settings”, switch “Security” and check “Always Prompt for logon credentials”。
    3. Restart Outlook to login your account.
Once this done, you can uncheck this setting for convenience.
Besides, I find an similar thread about your question, for your reference:

  • Is it possible to uninstall iOS 3.1.3 on a 1st gen Ipod?

I recently updated my 1st gen iPod up to iOS 3.1.3, and upon doing so I discovered that my ipod was no longer compatible with the Sony clock radio dock that I have been using. I wish to find a way to uninstall 3.1.3 in order to go back to the previous operating system i was running that was compatible with my dock, however, when I attempt to restore my ipod to factory settings it always still has 3.1.3 as the iOS. Is there any way to revert to old software?

My 1st Gen Apple TV remote worked fine yesterday and today acts like it is unpaired (amber flash when I hit a button).  Is there a way to pair it or another remote now?
    Thanks.

A 5 GHz network cannot reach as far as a 2.4 GHz one, nor is it able to penetrate walls and the like anywhere near as well, it is not therefor always an ideal solution. It can help avoid interference from neighbouring networks but it may not avoid interference from other household appliances. You might want to try another wifi channel or even temporarily move the Apple TV closer to the AP for diagnostics.
