1st song only part downloaded from CD

I have searched for answer but to no avail!
Why does my itunes 9 now only record about 30 seconds of the first song from the CD I am downloading and then is OK for the rest of the download.
This is very frustrating as I want to hear the whole CD on itunes.

From your first post I thought it was just one CD, but if you're saying it happens to many - or all - of them, then either every single one has a got a scratch or finger mark on it (towards the middle of the CD if it's the first track) - or - perhaps more likely, there's something wrong with the CD drive in your computer.
Is there another CD drive on your computer (mine has two)? If so, try using that instead, although you may need to tell iTunes to look for it.
Otherwise, I suggest you try narrowing down the problem, as follows:
If it is always the first track of many CDs, then do check the playing side of the disc for marks (the playing side is the one without the text/picture on it, not everyone knows this). Then, if that doesn't show up any problem, I think it could be time to ask for an opinion on the CD drive itself. Do you have a local computer repair shop nearby? If so, ask them for an opinion and estimate of cost before taking it in.
Personally, I don't think "reloading iTunes" will achieve anything and while moving to your Mac might solve that particular problem, I think it'll cause you many, many more! First of which (and I may be wrong on this), doesn't an iPod configured for Windows not work on a Mac until re-formatted (and the same applies the other way round)?

I have downloaded an album this morning from the itunes store, however, it has only part downloaded. My purchase history says I have purchased it all??? Please can you advise how I can get the rest of the songs?
    Thanks

in iTunes, access your *purchase history* via your account in the iTunes store,
find the file in question, and click on the *report a problem button*. report the problem. more info in [this|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1933] support article.

  • Downloaded song only part downloaded - Help

I downloaded a song which shows as being 5.32 minutes long on my i-tunes but when I play it, it only plays for 15 seconds then skips to next track.  How can I 'redownload' the song so I have the full 5.32 minutes?

It's a new purchase ? Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads with the same problem then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

i purchased an album from itunes,2 of the tracks only partly downloaded.itunes have since sent me the tracks again but they wont sinc with my ipod, which still has the defective tracks on it.any help would be great.

First, I would suggest that you try restoring your iPod (although it sounds like it might be a problem with your iTunes or the files themselves).
For info on restoring and iPod, see this:

  • HT204406 I authorized a second computer on my iTunes account, and downloaded my library from the Cloud to my new computer. However, many songs only partially downloaded, and now I'm having a hard time getting rid of them to do full downloads.

I authorized a second computer on my iTunes account and tried to get my first computer's library on my second computer via the Cloud. Many of the songs only partially downloaded, and I am having a hard time getting rid of the library with the partial downloads (so I can get full songs). I am considering nuking the current iTunes on the second computer and re-installing, giving myself a clean slate to work with. Is this the right way to go?

  • HT204406 some of the songs i have downloaded from iclouds cut out after about 50 seconds? Has anyone else had this problem?

Some of the songs I have downloaded from iclouds cut out after about 50 seconds when i play them? Has anyone else had this problem and if so did you manage to fix it.
    Thanks

I've had this happen several times... I suspect the download was interrupted for some unreported reason so it only has a partial file or has a corrupt byte in the file it failed to catch.
Just delete the local copy and re-download from the cloud and they play fine.

  • My last computer died, but we've been able to transfer my files onto an external hard drive to put onto my new computer.I have now got exclamation marks next to 100 songs which I downloaded from Frostwire years ago. How can I fix this?

After my brother transferred all my files from my old computer to an external hard drive, he then put them onto my new computer. It appears that 100 songs which I downloaded from Frostwire years ago have the exclamation mark next to them. I cannot find the files on my new computer, and cannot remember where they were saved to on my old computer as it was over 3 years ago. I have also tried to consolidate the files as I've found people suggested, but that is not working. I have also read that you should tell itunes that you are moving the music, but my old laptop cannot be read when it is on. Is there any other way tofix this issue? I don't want to have to buy over 100 songs which I already have.

  • How do I transfer my songs that I downloaded from another computer onto a different computer?

I have an Ipod Classic 160GB. I have all my songs downloaded from an Itunes library on a different computer. I want to know how I can take all the songs that I downloaded from that computer onto a new Itunes library for this computer. This is a Mac I dont know what brand its just a Mac.

In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
Once you get the domain.sites file copied from your old Mac to the User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder on your new Mac follow this:
To open your domain file in Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

  • How do I return to iCLoud a playlist of 80 songs that I downloaded from iCloud to my MacBook? I only need the songs downloaded temporarily due to no WiFi. I want to keep the playlist in iCloud; just don't want them downloaded

How do I return (to iCloud from MacBook Pro) a playlist of 80 songs that I downloaded? I only needed the songs downloaded temporarily due to no WiFi. I want to keep the playlist in iCloud; just don't want them downloaded. I know how to delete songs, but is there  a way to just "undo" and return songs to iCloud and maintain existing playlist on MacBook?

Use Flash Media Server to stream the files.......set up a timer and have all three of them play at once....and have a button switch the streams depending upon which stream you want to play.....and wallah......
you can also capture the stream.time from the video playing and resume from that point on the other videos as well....havent done this theoretically so I dont know how smooth the transistion between streams will be....but it can be done....
plus u may have to use double buffering techniques to make sure it starts up right away......

  • HT1451 I used to be able to sync all songs that I downloaded from CDs to my iPad. Now I can only get the songs that were purchased from iTunes.  Can someone tell me why?

I used to be able to sync songs that I imported from CDs into my library onto my iPad and iPad touch. Now I can only sync the purchased from iTunes songs. What has changed?  Do I have to subscribe to iCloud to do this now?

    Hi Cricketdaw,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
iTunes should sync your entire library, and not just songs purchased from the iTunes Store, as mentioned in this article:
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1535
By default, iTunes automatically syncs your entire iTunes library whenever you connect your device to your computer. On each subsequent sync, iTunes will automatically add any new music or videos to the device and remove any items that are no longer in your iTunes Library.

  • I want a SmartPlaylist that shows only songs I have downloaded from iCloud Match

is there a way to create a playlist on iTunes(desktop) that will show all the tracks that are locally stored on my computer??

All my music is in the cloud, i dont want the majority of it stored locally, so at the moment when i put my music on shuffle iTunes (desktop and even more of a problem on iPhone) will on occasion pick a cloud track and begin to download it (slowly on my connection) - I want it to only pick local tracks to avoid this problem. Also the tracks I have downloaded from my cloud are obviously my favourite ones and therefore the ones I want to play most often - i realise i could create other playlists for this but the simplest way to do it would be to have a smart list of my local tracks.
I'll try not to be judgemental about your musical choices.
Seriously, though, your extra information is very helpful. I didn't completely understand what to do previously. So try this Smart Playlist:
All my music is "on my computer" so this, of course, doesn't exclude anything for me. But let us know if it works for you.

Songs skipping after downloading on iTunes

    Hello, cajunkiwi.
Thank you for the question.  There are a couple options to help you with this.  If limited purchased media skips only on the iPhone, then delete the affected content and download it again free of charge via the purchased section of the iTunes Store.  If almost all of your media library skips on the iPhone only, remove all music from the device by removing the preference to sync music.  After this has been completed, restore the sync music preference to place the media back on the the device.  Below are a couple articles that will walk you through this process.

  • How do I get songs I've downloaded from iTunes to be transferred to my iPhone 5?  I have to use internet or data to play now.

I recently got my new iPhone 5 and now all the songs I previously downloaded can only be played if I'm on the internet or want to use part of data package.  Is there anyway to get these songs on my iPhone?  In iTunes it says the songs are stored on the cloud and I can't sync them with my iPhone.  Any help would be appreciated.

This topic has been covered in-depth on this forum.
With iTunes Match enabled traditional syncing of music via USB is disabled and all music management takes place directly on the iOS device. To sync via USB iTM must me disabled.

  • Where is the song I just downloaded from iTunes

    Hi There,
I'm new to Mac and iTunes. I just went to iTunes store on my Mac Book Pro and bought song.
But I can't find it under my music.
Please help me. Where do I go to see the song?
    Thanks

On my Mac, on the left side of the main iTunes window, the second group of playlists is marked "Store" and third on that list is one named "Purchased" and within it are all the songs I've ever downloaded from the iTunes Store on this machine over several years - many freebies along with the few that I paid for.

  • Songs Unable To Download from iTunes to iPhone 4S

Everytime I attempt to download a song from itunes to my iphone 4S, it stops, goes straight to saying its done, then starts from the beginning again...how can I fix this? Sometimes when I buy and download a song it does download but, the songs that keep re-starting do not. They skip to the end then start from the beginning several times, then eventually just stop and say "Download Error". I had this problem once before but randomly it stopped and the songs with the problem downloaded. It randomly started again though now and I am not sure why. If anyone knows how I can fix this it would br great, TY^^!

Either the service did not install when you set up iTunes, or it has been stopped for some reason.  If you are using Win7, go to the start orb, click, type services at the bottom. Then look in the window that opens for the Apple service(s), and start them all.  Then reload iTunes and try again.  If you don't find an Apple service, then you will need to install iTunes again, and be sure it is the current (10.2) version.
