1st sync of iCal to new 4S went OK. Now new items added on phone not showing up on iCal on Mac. Not using iCloud
The first time I synced my new 4S I was getting duplicate calenders showing up. I deleted all the calenders on my iPhone and picked replace items on my iPhone with items on my computer for iCal. That worked and I got them synced. Now when I sync, my calender on my computer does not get the changed items from my iPhone. I am not using iCloud just syncing with cable in iTunes.
I just had the identical experience. Both laptop and desktop have the same prefs set from within iCal to sync my calendars and address books. I've synced (sunked?) three or four times now, it appears to be working, but when all is said and done I am left with totally blank calendar on my desktop unit. Both have the latest Leopard upgrades. I also selected "merge all data" when prompted.
What gives?

There are a couple of possibilities that may apply to the email you have received regarding your Apple ID. The first is that the email may be a legitimate warning that your Apple ID has been compromised. For this reason I would suggest that you change the password to your Apple ID as soon as possible. The second possibilty is that the email is an attempt at "phishing" in order to get you to reveal personal information. I got the new iPhone5 back in Dec, I hooked it up to my computer for the 1st time this wk. It deleted all new data added since Dec (notes,contacts,texts,pics, info added to apps) and reverted back to all my old data (literally uploaded all of my old texts and 1400 old pics and deleted anything new). How can I retrieve all the lost data?? Please help!!

I have spent 3 hours trying to get my ical updated on my mac with events added to my iphone calendar. Itunes will sync the calendars from the mac to the phone, but not vice versa. I have read every post which relates to this problem, but I do not use iCloud, there is no iSync app on my mac, and there is no menu to delete sync history under system preferences. My mac is fairly new and is running Mac OS X 10.7.4. I tried to delete the iphone from itunes and start over, but can't even do that. Now what? Any advice short of throwing both devices out the window?

Ical on iphone does not sync with ical on mac, but the mac does it!
My ical on my iphone does not sync with ical on mac using MobileMe, but reverse it works very well.
so typing an new event in ical on my phone will NOT appear in ical at my computer. Typing a new event on my mac, than within 10 seconds it appears on my phone.
anybody know how to resolve this? never had the problem before

HeinI have solved my problem - don't know if yours is the same. I noticed on iPhone, when I listed the calendars there are two sections: the top line showed "All Calendars ->"; when I click on that I get duplicate entries for everything.
Below that is:
"From My Mac.
"All from My Mac ->", followed by a list of individual calendars. When I clicked on that I got single entries.
This led me to realize that in my Settings ->Accounts I had the old "...mac.com" a/c and new "..me.com" a/c. I had thought it didn't matter.
Once I eliminated the "mac.com" A/c, I had only one set of calendars.

I got a new lap top and my husband thought it would be a good idea to help me by downloading itunes on it. Well Not so much... I have not used icloud but do have it on my phone and other items. When he pugged my phone in to my laptop it asked if he wanted to backup he said yes. Then it reset my phone and now all my pictures are gone please help
If your phone was backed up to your computer, the backup would contain your camera roll photos (and videos). Restoring to this backup would recover them. However, if it was backed up a second time after losing them, this would overwrite the backup containing the data and your photos would be lost.
You can try restoring to your backup, but before doing so go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check "Prevent...from syncing automatically". This will prevent the phone from automatically syncing and backing up when you connect it to your computer, thereby overwriting the backup you want to restore to. After doing this, open iTunes on your computer and connect your phone, then right-click on the name of your phone on the left side of iTunes and choose Restore from Backup. (If you have iTunes 11 first go to View>Show Sidebar.)
Again this might work, as long as the phone was only backed up and then not subsequently backed up again after the photos were lost. -
Had trouble receiving texts, I did an IOS update, it lost everything on my phone. I had it synced to the computer it synced to my sister's iphone data and now I cant unlock my phone or do anything. I am receiving texts from her contacts meant for her!

Log in with your iCloud account with a browser on your computer to check if your Mac iCal calendar events are available with your iCloud online calendar. Depending on how many calendar events there are, the upload can take a little while - longer than 5 minutes since your last post. -

When I updated my iPad 3 and iPod Touch 4th generation to iOS 6 a few months back, I was able to update the iPad effortlessly over WiFi. but I kept getting error messages when trying to update the iPod over WiFi, so I used iTunes on my MacBook Pro.
Connect the iPad to the computer, launch iTunes. Select the iPad under the devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update
If you are using iTunes 11, go to View>Show Sidebar at the top - so the sidebar is visible. -

Go to Settings>iCloud>Calendar>On. Toggle the setting on and off. You don't have to use iCloud, so just turn the setting off if you don't want to use iCloud.
Turning the calendar on in the iCloud settings usually sets the + to appear again. -

I'm using OSX 10.6.8 and current itunes/iphone firmware. For some reason, I can only transfer my calendar events from my laptop to my phone and not vice-versa. I do a lot of scheduling on the go so most of my calendar entries are made or updated on my iphone. I need to be able to see these events on my mac's ical when making phone calls but haven't been able to sync my calendars (everything else sync's just fine).
Anyone know how to fix this? I've tried all the other apple community suggestions but nothing is working.No. Lion conflicts with photoshop and lightroom which are both programs I use on a daily basis for work so I'm still using Snow Leopard (10.6.x vs 10.7.x).
I used to back up my calendar using icloud but I quickly overloaded my icloud space so I went back to syncing to my mac.
