1sync with W810i

the first time i got the phone i was able to sync with my macboook but i have just tried again and i get a message saying "Plug-in for this phone model is missing"
Can anyone help and tell me where has it gone and how do i get it back?
The Orange and Sony Ericsson helplines tell me that isync does not work with the W810i but it did the first time!
macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

The W810i is officially supported in iSync 2.3 as part of Mac OS X 10.4.7.
The message you are getting usually occurs if incorrect modifications have been made to the iSync application (i.e. editing the internal metaclasses.plist file).
The best way to fix this is to download the Mac OS X 10.4.7 Combo updater, and re-install it. This will re-instate iSync back to its virgin state. Before doing this though, make sure that you have not moved the iSync application from its default location in [Your Hard Disk]/Applications
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate1047combointel.html
It's a big download (215mb) but this is the only one that completely updates the installed apps.

  • Sony ericsson W810i connection problem with macbook

I have a Sony Ericsson W810i, and I want to transfer some photo's from the phone to my macbook. I can get the bluetooth to link with the phone for tranfer, but I'm having problems when I try to use the USB cable. When I connect the USB cable, the phone recognizes the connection, and warns not to disconnect from the cable untill...etc. however, I never get an Icon on the computer recognizing the phone. in short, The mac never sees the phone. any ideas???

I don't believe Macs are cell phone compatible without some 3rd party hack or application. You might do a Google search for your phone model and Mac.

  • Sony Ericsson W810i and iSync 2.4: "can not connect to this device"

I am using Mac OS 10.4.11 and iSync 2.4, which I believe are the most up to date versions. My Sony Ericsson W810i is shown as being compatible with iSync as shown on the iSync support page, but while I try to add the phone to it I get the message:
    "W810i
iSync can not connect to this device".
Does anybody have any ideas how to sort this problem? I've tried restarting both my computer and phone before trying again.

I finally figured out how to fix this problem. The mobile phone had to be initially added by the computer under Bluetooth to pair them before adding the device to iSync. Adding the computer as a device to the phone to pair them, as I had been doing, didn't allow it to work with iSync.

  • Current best phone to purchase with Syncing in mind?

    Hey everyone,
I was looking at the Motorola RAZR and the Motorola KRZR phones as a replacement for my T-Mobile MDA, which is getting a bit bulky...
I figured before I splurged on a unlocked phone, what's currently the best slim phone (similar to the RAZR or KRZR) on the market that syncs with OSX? It's alright if I have to edit some files manually, I'm fairly proficient when it comes to root access and using vim. =)
I'd love to have a phone that syncs the address book photos, and hopefully the phone will allow for more than a single phone number per entry (which may take the RAZR out of contention!). I'm very meticulous about my Address Book and would love to have a phone that can keep up with me in that aspect...
I'm moving away from the MDA simply because I've come to the realization that I don't need a PDA today, as much as when I originally purchased the device... I'll probably keep it as a backup phone though...
    Any advice is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Ricky

Thanks for the feedback... I did look at the isync device list, but I wanted everyone else's opinion as to the best phone.. There's a lot to read inbetween the lines on that list!
I think I'm going with a Sony W810i. I have to get it off of EBAY, but I'm sure I can sell my MDA to make up the difference...
I'll let everyone know how well it works when I get it in next week..

In particular, note the "Configurations" table at the
bottom of the page. Basically, smartphones are the
only devices that sync the Address Book photos.
However, smartphone = phone + PDA in once device, and
you stated you don't need a PDA... so you'll have to
    decide.
If you're looking for a stupidphone, and want the
best iSync functionality, you need a Sony Ericsson
    phone with Bluetooth.
Motorola phones are extremely limited in terms of
iSync. You can have multiple #'s per contact - kind
of - by changing the view options in the phone's
address book from "all" to "primary."

  • I'can't synchronize iCal and my w810i...

    Hi all !
I saw that a lot of person have a problem with iSync/w810i/osX.4.6... But for me (osx.4.8), I can use isync for contact and task.
    It's really great.
    But for calendars...
After a synchronization, I don't see events in my phone. The calendar in my phone is empty, but I have a lot of events in my iCal's calendar ! If I try to create an event in my phone, after a synchronization, this event is remove from the phone, and it doesn't appear in iCal !...
    Why ?
I watch the iSync's history, and I see that iSync copy only 5 events from iCal to the empty calendar in my phone (I have 50 events in iCal), and in the same take, iSync remove 5 events from my phone !
    Why ?!
    iCal's data are corrupted ?

    Damned !!! It works !!!
    Thanks !
I reset all my config, and make only 2 events in "Travail". I choose the "Erase data on device then sync option from the phone first sync", and sync.
In the calendar in my phone, I have nothing, and in the iSync's history, I have:
    14:53:10 [Mac -> TelToto] Modification des événements du calendrier : 2 ajouté(s), 0 modifié(s) et 0 supprimé(s)
(In english: Events modification in calendar: 2 added, 0 modified, and 0 removed)
After, I reset sync history, and re-sync.
I have an alert, because iSync want to add an event in iCal from the phone. Now in iCal I have 3 events. An event is duplicated from the first day to the second day.... hum... hum... And in my phone... nothing appear !
And... I saw that I have a problem with the year... In my phone, the calendar was in 2006, and iCal in 2007...!!!
    Now, all is right !

  • GDS/1SYNC Schema

    Hello,
We are going to implement the SAP GDS Console (SAP MDM-GDS) on SP06.  However, how does this tie in to the 1SYNC schema version?  If 1SYNC decides to upgrade the schema, how do we do that on the GDS console/XI?  Do we need to upgrade the entire GDS console?  Also, what is the easiest way to tell what schema version we are on?
    Thank you.

    Carley Hi,
One of the features of GDS 6.0 is its flexibility. When 1Sync upgrades or updates fields, you have the capabilities to change these on your own. For example if they add a new field you can add this field with the MDM console and then use the UI configuration in the GDS Console to add the field to any tab you choose.
The GDS version is alswys displayed on the upper left of the Internet Explorer
    hope this helps,
    Stanley Levin.

  • Need help with Nokia 6233

    Hello,
I had a nokia 6233 about December 2006 and had it for a year.
Had a Nokia N95 for a while and then wanted an iPhone, sold the N95 and carried on with my new iPhone which I got in July, which I'm pretty happy with. Until it breaks a week ago.
I now my old phone (6233) and have a question.
It is an Orange phone, which isn't unlocked, I have a 1GB microSD card in it, which I'd assume would merge with the phones useless memory. No. It doesn't. Orange had this stupid idea that installing a "Downloads" application which uses all the phones memory.
I send a text which is fine. I then recieve the reply, and I get a message telling me that the phone hasnt got enough memory to save the message so I need to delete something. All thats in the phones memory is the "Downloads" application. Now I have a problem. I can't delete the "Downloads" application because it's a system file. The memory card has memory but I cant save texts or anything on that I think. Unless theres a way I don't know?
Anyway, I was trying to find out if I can delete the Downloads application. Is it possible?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ryan.

I am having the same problem and wanted to know if anybody has solved this. I have a 6233 with latest updates from nokia and trying to run latest opera, gmail, google maps. I am able to browse the web using the nokia software already on the phone and get the [G] sysbol at the top of the screen. A couple of things particular to my situation are I am in the US and the carrier I have ATT(formaly cingular) claims they do not support this phone. The programs have downladed and installed. But when I run them I get the packet data service first message. One funny thing is that my brother has the exact service plan I have and he is able to use all the above programs on his sony ericson w810i. This make me believe that my problem still lies in my setting somewhere.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Unusual error syncing Sony Ericsson W810i :0

    Hi all,
I am trying to sync my mac (Powerbook G4) with a Sony Ericsson w810i. My iSync version is up to date. In the iSync menu where you can select to sync contacts and calendar, I am not able to select iCal. Whenever I select to sync iCal events, i immediatedly get a popup saying "You should select an application that can be syncronized using Mac OS X. Would you like to open iCal now ??" whether I open or not the iCal sync option is automatically unselected - and hence i do not get the events to my phone.
    Any responses will be appreciated.

  • ISync and SE w810i

Does anybody know how to sync an Apple Mac computer with a SE w810i?

Yes. You must be using Mac OS X 10.4.6 and iSync 2.2 and then download and install the W810 plugin I made from here:

  • W810i Sync Fails

I have a SonyEricsson W810i and run 10.4.7 (Tiger) with iSync 2.3. For a couple weeks everything was wonderful. I was truly amazed at the good Sync. Hallelujah! But, now my bliss is broken. Now the sync appears to go well but at the end I get a sad tone from my phone and the message (verbatim) "Session failed Communication interrupted" on my phone. iSync also pops a dialog box with the error "[W810i] An unexpected error occurred. Device "W810i" synchronization failed." The iSync logs also reflect the error.
I tried updating the phone's software, removing the battery, resetting iSync sync history, and resetting devices (overwriting their data with data from my Mac). I've tried deleting my contacts, tasks, and calendars on my phone. All to no avail. Every time I sync, I get the error on my phone and in iSync. Fortunately, the sync actually seems to go well despite the error.
My only other clue is that the sync seems to take a long time, almost as though it's trying to update everything. Previously, sync was fast, as if it only had to change a few things with each sync.
I've seen this issue reported by others elsewhere on the Internet, but no one has any resolution to the problem. What next?

I'm getting the same message for my iPad. I have to connect the ipad to my computer with the usb cable in order for itunes to be able to "see" the ipad. This ipad is only a few months old and this is what happens? Are Apple products starting to suck or what?

  • Warning using SE W810i

If you, like me use the data connection cable to charge this phone (Sony Ericsson W810i) heed this warning. Upon plugging in the phone it asks you if want to do data transfer or put it into phone mode. If you forget and carry on with what ever you are doing and get call, DO NOT UNPLUG THE PHONE otherwise if you do a kernal panic will ensue!
Make sure that you choose 'Phone operation' and then you can safely unplug the unit when you want to. My guess is that if you leave it, it mounts the Memory Stick inside the phone and Finder freaks out when it is uncerimonously disconnected.

  • ISync W810i

Help: I bought a brand new Sony Ericsson W810i. When i go on mac.com supported devices by isync it's in but it won't isync on my computer? Would anyone have encounter such problem and give a hand?
    thanks,
    jl

Your signature says you're using Mac OS X 10.3.4. If that is true, then your version of Mac OS X is 14 versions out-of-date and was released long before the W810i, so its never going to work with it.
The Apple Supported Devices list relates to the current version of Mac OS X, which is 10.4.8.
Support for the W810i was added to iSync 2.3 which was part of the Mac OS X 10.4.7 update, released on 27th June 2006.
So, at a minimum you should upgrade to Mac OS X 10.4.7 for W810i support.
If that is not an option for you at the moment, you should at least upgrade to the free 10.3.9 update from the Apple Downloads site (link above).
Then, you may have limited success in syncing your W810i by following some instructions to 'hack' iSync 1.5 from my site below:
    http://mobile.feisar.com/isync_panther.html
Bear in mind that this is unsupported, not guaranteed to work, and if you don't make adequate backups before proceeding and make a mistake, can break your iSync installation.
    Proceed with caution!

  • Sony Ericsson W810i

    Hi
Are there any plans to include the new Sony Ericsson, the W810i, in the isync phones list?
I've just bought one and am very happy with it. It comes with a USB cable which when plugged in, charges the phone, pops up iphoto and let's you import photos directly, like any other camera and let's you drag mp3s on to it like any non apple mp3 player. You can drag mp3s directly from itunes but it limits the number of songs you can copy across in one go to about 20. This is easy to get around by either dragging from the folders directly or by dragging your songs from itunes to a temp folder and then into the phone memory card (512mb card, upgradeable and 22 mb on board), you may want to do this if copying the party shuffle or a playlist.
Anyway, back to isync, if it's going to be included soon that would be great, rounding off a great inter manufacturer combo...

    G5 iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   Sony Ericsson W810i

The Mac OS X 10.4.7 Update will ship soon, bringing incremental improvements to iSync, and will likely include support for additional mobile handsets, including—possibly—the SONY Ericsson W810i. That's about as much as I can say about unreleased, unannounced software.
If you are interested in an immediate solution, or future updates don't include support for your mobile handset, you can take a look at this low cost alternative from Nova Media:
