1v-5v output linearly by using 5v supply, voltage divider and variable resister

How can i get 1v-5v output linearly by using 5v supply, voltage divider  and variable resister  ?

Do you have it wired like the attached file?  Using my schematic, you can calculate the current through the pot based on the desired voltage drop across the pot
4V / 10Kohm = 0.0004 A
From Kirchhoff's current law, we know the same current will flow through the circuit so now we can calculate the lower leg of the divider based on the current and the desired voltage drop across the resistor
1V /  0.0004 A = 2.5K Ohm
My schematic keeps the current through the circuit constant so the voltage divider should never change.  Assuming a linear pot, you will get a linear voltage swing as measured at the wiper.  If you wired the pot a different way, then more then likely, you are changing the total resistance from 5V to ground which would effect the current which would effect the voltages.

    Hi Friends,
I am new to use to Soap Adapter. Please help me out bellow doubts.
1.When you use Use Adapter-Specific Message Properties and Variable Transport Binding .
       2. Where exactly  we r using below parameters.
Remote User : (technical name: SRemoteUser )
Remote Host : (technical name: SRemoteHost )
SOAP Action (technical name: SHeaderSOAPACTION )
To transfer further header fields, set the relevant indicator. You can then store the following attributes and their values in the XI message header:
    Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName1 )
    Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName2 )
    Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName3 )
    Thanks&Regards

    Hi,
1.When you use Use Adapter-Specific Message Properties and Variable Transport Binding .
SAP Help says both are needed to be checked when you want to process adapter attributes
Configuring the Receiver SOAP Adapter - SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure - SAP Library
These attributes can be get/set using dynamic configuration and their technical names are what you have pasted:
Remote User : (technical name: SRemoteUser )
Remote Host : (technical name: SRemoteHost )
SOAP Action (technical name: SHeaderSOAPACTION )
To transfer further header fields, set the relevant indicator. You can then store the following attributes and their values in the XI message header:
    Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName1 )
    Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName2 )
    Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName3 )
Remote User - the username used to send a message to the adapter engine using SOAP
Remote Host - hostname which the remote user used
SOAP Action - SOAP Action of the XI webservice (sender) / SOAP Action of the receiver webservice
Variable Headers are additional key-value pairs in the HTTP Header that could be accessed in the XI Header using dynamic configuration. The limit is only three though.

  • Subtracting two waveforms, one aquired using DAQ analog voltage input, and the other one being internally generated

    Hello NI Community,
I am new to LabView and was hoping someone might be able to help with a question I have. Right now, I am using a DAQ unit to sample an externally generated sinusoid and I would like to alter that signal by adding to it another signal that I could control using the front panel. Whenever I try to just connect the input with something like the sine waveform vi and put a subtraction sign between them it doesn't work (I get an empty waveform graph). To get around this, I have resorted to sending out a signal (through an analog output) and then reading the signal on the Daq, and then finally I add the two together. Doing it that way works, but it wastes two channels and I imagine there is a better way. I have attached my VI, and I labelled the location of interest  "Where the Signals Get Subtracted", which is currently shown using the two inputs.
    Thanks,
    Leo

What a mess.  I have no idea where you are trying to do the subtraction.  Can you make a very small VI (one whose Block Diagram fits on a single screen) that shows what you are trying to do?  Include the Sine Wave Generator, and you can include a "Black Box" that says "From DAQ".  But thank you, at least, for posting code, not a picture.
Here's a suggestion that may help make things less messy -- do you know about the Diagram Cleanup tool?  See the icons at the top?  The right-most one looks like a broom next to a VI.  Save your VI first (in case you don't like what it does), Select All (Ctrl-A), then click this button -- you may like the result.

  • Can I measure the analog USB supply voltage using Labview?

I'm basically powering a sensor from the 5V (nominal) USB supply but the full scale output depends upon the actual input voltage for any particular measurement- what I want to do is get labview to measure the voltage at the USB port at the same time it samples the sensor voltage output then from that the full scale output for that instant in time can be calculated and thus give a more accurate measurement. Can this be done in labview? Thanks very much.

    Go to Solution.

There is no such hardware feature that is universal to all motherboards. Additionally, depending on the current being used, the length of the usb cable, etc. the voltage present at your sensor would also vary, probably a lot more than the 1% accuracy. I know that some motherboards have onboard monitoring of key voltages, but think it more at the the "main 5V" level, not individual usb ports.A USB DQ device may be the only way to actually measure the supply voltage at the sensor.

  • How do I set upmy Imac to allow using both my computer speakers and a Bose SoundLink system as outputs at the same time.  I can use one or the other, but not both.

how do I set up my Imac to allow using both my computer speakers and a Bose SoundLink system as outputs at the same time.  I can use one or the other, but not both.  From systems Preferences I must select one or the other.  I want both to work all the time.

    Hi,
I would recommend you to use 0FI_AP_4 rather using both, particularly for many reasons -
    1. DS: 0FI_AP_4  replaces DataSource 0FI_AP_3 and still uses the same extraction structure. For more details refer to the OSS note 410797.
    2. You can run the 0FI_AP_4 independent of any other FI datasources like 0FI_AR_4 and 0FI_GL_4 or even 0FI_GL_14. For more details refer to the OSS note: 551044.
    3. Map the 0FI_AP_4 to DSO: 0FIAP_O03 (or create a Z one as per your requirement).
    4. Load the same to a InfoCube (0FIAP_C03).
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

My Bluetooth USB wireless transmitter for my portable BT speakers has quit working.  Preferences says, "The selected device has no output controls", it used to work just fine.  The internal and a pair of wired external speakers work fine.  Can anybody help?

Just tested something and it worked.
If I put the headphones all the way in, the mac recognizes it as a digital output.
But if i don't put it all the way in, it recognizes it as headphones and works perfectly.
    It's probably this crappy headphones.
If anyone has the same problem, try this out.

  • Counter output 2V when using gate and source at the same time..

    I'm using NI TIO-6601.
    I connected output of counter_0 to pfi 34 and pfi27 on hardware(CB-68LP).
pfi 34 is used for gate to counter_1 and counter_2.
With this gate, counter_1 and counter_2 generate pulse trains when the gate is in high state.
pfi 27 is used for source to counter_3.
With this source, I'm trying to let counter_3 count event on counter_0.
However, after this connection, the voltage from counter_0 is about 2V measured by Oscilloscope.
Also, counter_3 cannot count the event on counter_0.
Is there any problem on my connection ? or any tips for solving this problem??
    Thanks in advance!!
p.s. It works when only two counters are working.
for example, when counter_0 generates pulse tra
in and output is connected to pfi_27, then counter_3 can count the event on counter_0.
    Thanks again!

    Hello,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.
This issue may be related to amount of current the output of counter 0 can produce. You may want to try a different method for making these connections. Try routing your counter 0 output on to RTSI line 1. Then use RTSI1 as the gate for counters 1 and 2 and the source for counter 3. This way, you will not need to use two seperate PFI connections.
If you are using Trad. DAQ and LabVIEW you will need to use the Route Signal.vi. If you are using DAQmx, you will need to use the Export Signal.vi

How to Download displayed output to Excel Using Bsp Application.

In my condition I am getting data in  2-3 table view formats on one page and i want download that in Excel.
    please help me.

    Hi,
This is more a question for the BSP forum.
Anyway, as such it's realy easy since you can use HTML in order to import to Excel. All you need to do is add
    runtime->server->response->set_header_field( name = 'Contnet-Type'
    value = 'application/vnd.ms-excel' ).
    runtime->server->response->delete_header_field( name = 'Cache-Control' ).
    runtime->server->response->delete_header_field( name = 'Expires' ).
    runtime->server->response->delete_header_field( name = 'Pragma' ).
    Also check threads like
    Download BSP data into Excel
    export bsp-table to excel
    Export BSP Table to Excel

    Hi Ali,
You need not have to create a spool request in order to convert the SAPScript output to PDF..
What you need to do is to convert SAPScript Output to OTF format and then convert it to PDF format using the Function Module CONVERT_OTF and then download the PDF data to desktop using the Function Module GUI_DOWNLOAD.
    Here is my entire code.

  • Is anyone successfully outputting 8 channels using ETT/Insert ?

I've been trying to do an 8 channel output, but can't get it to work.
If I choose 8 channel audio mapping in the Device Control preset, with RS222 control, then in my ETT window the destination track control popup for the audio tracks shows channel 4 as already enabled but its greyed out and can't be modified.
Then, regardless of ouput channel selection, FCP's device control seems unable to control channels 5 to 8 on the recorder.
In FCP, if I select any output channels above channel 4, then all channel selections below 4 are ignored, and the recorder receives a signal to enable channels 1 to 4 relative to my selections in FCP for channels 5-8.
    Any tips greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
    Andy

we're using a Decklink Extreme card and sending to a Sony IMX vtr (msw-2100)
... but i'm not sure this has anything to do with the deck or the card as the problem seems to originate within FCP. as i mentioned, you just have to select 8 channel audio mapping to see the problem - as soon as you do that your destination audio controls in the ETT window get srewed up (can't un-map channel 4) and if we manually override the channel selection on the deck we can see and monitor the output channels and they are all ok.
heaven forbid, but it seems to be a bug.

  • Can a Didital output task be used to read a line

I have a digital output task, but I would like to be able to read the value of the line as well (to save me having to store the last value I wrote to it). I have tried, and it appears to work fine, but I can't find any hint that it is supported in the documentation. Intuitively I might expect that it would work.
Is it a legal operation (will it ever stop working in a future release!)?
Am I reading the actual value on the physical line, or some internally buffered version of the value I wrote?
My DO task is using programmed IO, on demand modes - and I am using DAQmxWriteDigitalScalarU32 to write values, and DAQmxReadDigitalScalarU32 to read them. These are some of the DO properties
    **Task: Write Laser On
      Task - Name: LASER
      Task - Channels: Vestibular/port0/line31
      Timing - Sample Mode: 10123 DAQmx_Val_ContSamps
      Timing - Sample Timing Type: 10390 DAQmx_Val_OnDemand
      Write - Wait Mode: 12547 DAQmx_Val_Sleep
      Write - Sleep Time: 0.0010
Buffer - Output Buffer Size: 0
Channel - Output Data Transfer Mechanism: 10264 DAQmx_Val_ProgrammedIO
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
This is a legal operation on the NI-DAQMX, you can read the digital port lines current state and as far as I'm aware it's not expected to change in future releases. You are reading the actual current state of the line, I hope this answers your question.
