DBStudying for and passing the exam has benefit to you, but without the resident course, you can't actually get the OCP.

  • 1Z0-040 Recommended   Study Software

I'm due to take the 1Z0-040 exam shortly and have been using the Sybex 1Z0-040 book to date. The book is good but I haven't had the time I'd like to study for this exam so I think I'm going to have to buy some supplemental exam software. The cheapest I've found is from pass-guaranteed.com at $39.99 but I'm sure if it's any good. Has anyone use this or any other product from pass-guaranteed.com? Or any other software for this exam that you can suggest? All suggestions are greatly appreciated :)
    Thanks
    Paul

well, I didn't realise that it was only a PDF file and not software that I was buying from pass-guaranteed.com but that's my fault for not reading it correctly. The PDF itself was full of typos and some of the questions didn't even have answers. But in saying that, the questions were very representative of what was to come up in my exam and I think some of them were actually identical and it definitely helped in me passing the exam. I've nothing to compare it against but typos aside, I would recommend this..

  • 1Z0-051 exam tips

    Hi everybody
My name is Jon Toshmatov and I am preparing for 1Z0-051 exam and I would like to ask you a few questions.
First, a little my background, I work for IBM in mainframe storage team and prior to IBM I have a few years of DBA experience.
Within 3 months I want to pass the 1Z0-051 exam and next 3 months 1Z0-052 exam and obtain OCA certification within total 6 months. Is this doable?
I am using this book "OCA Oracle Database 11g SQL Fundamentals I Exam Guide: Exam 1Z0-051 (Osborne ORACLE Press Series) " and Oracle manuals from Oracle website. Any other textbooks you would recommend?
Please share some tips and hints with me so I can build my preparation strategy.
    appreciate your help

Preparation time depends on the individual and how much time they have. Do not be surprised if your preparation time for 1z0-051is shorter than that for 1z0-052. Also be aware if you want to move to DBA OCP you need mandatory training at some point

  • 1Z0-040 ( 9i to10g DBA upgrdation exam ) study material needed....

    Hi,
    I am a OCP9i DBA. I wish to upgrade to 10g now.
Can any member of the community please provide me with some good study material or dumps ??
Want to upgrade to 10g soon.
    Thanks.

Absolutely no dumps or materials are being shared here, moreover sharing of Oracle Materials or any dumps is an illigal.
For your upgrade exam 1z0-040 preparation use the Oracle Student Guides/ILT Materials and Self Test Software and Transcender test engines. Take a look at below url.

  • OCP Exam 1Z0-040: Installation Performance

    OCP People,
I'm looking at topic areas for the OCP Exam 1Z0-040.
    I'm curious about this topic:
    "Installation Performance Enhancements"
What should I know about it?
Do many Oracle DBAs think that Oracle 8i,9i installation is too slow?
    Perhaps 10g installation is faster?
When I see the term "Performance Enhancements", assuming I'm not reading a spam,
I expect a discussion about speed.
Perhaps there is more to it?
Maybe aside from duration, the 10g install is less likely to error out
or provide a better installation experience?
This could actually be a broad topic. I'm not sure what parts of it
the author of OCP Exam 1Z0-040 wants me to focus upon.
    Thoughts anyone?
    -Owen

There are improvements with the OUI installation process. Can you list these? Do you know what is different between the 9i and 10g install screens? Have you looked at the New Features manual?

  • Need information for writing 1Z0-147 exam

    hi gurus,
I am going to write 1Z0-147 Exam. Can any body please share the information related to 1Z0-147 exam.
    thanks in advance...

I also plan on taking this exam next month, am currently going thru the exam topics and using whatever material I get my hands on. What I really would like is some kind of test simulation software to prepare for it - unfortunately transcender/selft test don't cover this exam. Please could someone, who has taken the exam, give me some tips on how best to prepare for the exam.
    Many thanks

Plz its very urgent....The nature of your posts impllies already have a 9i DBA OCP. Then I hope you realise it is very difficult for me to see how you would not realise any link or material you are sent is :-
    1) A link to material in breach of copyright ...
    2) Material in breach of copyright
    3) unauthorized learning material.
    4) Relatively limited or useless.
About the only useful link you could be sent is ones into the Oracle Website or authorized training material. But you should, as a DBA, know these already!
Overall .... there is a high chance of an NDA breach with any answers to post ... with possible subsequent loss of existing certification.
    - There is a Sybex book ... ISBN-13: 978-0782143553 or equivalent ... that may be helpful ... but the exam topics may have been updated since.

There is no such specific Oracle Documentation given in Oracle, rather you will have to refer a couple of related Oracle Documentations.
Here are the Oracle SQL Documentations.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/nav/docindex.htm?remark=homepage#index-SQL
If you need specific document on this exam, you will have to undergo the related training course, then you will be given Oracle Student Guides/ILT Materials.

  • How to prepare for 1z0-050 exam

Can u help me guiding how to prepare for 1z0-050 exam. It will be every much useful to me.
    Thank
    Arunkumar Gupta

There's a new guide available for this test not mentioned in the supplied thread:
"Study Guide for 1Z0-050: Oracle Database 11g: New Features for Administrators: Oracle Certification Prep"
It's available at Amazon.com. Be aware that it is very condensed -- it's a study guide rather than a textbook. It should not be the sole source of your preparation for this test. On the plus side, I don't believe it to have near the number of errors that exist in the Oracle Press book for this test. You can also borrow it for free if you have a Kindle and are an Amazon Prime member.
Full Disclosure. I am the author.

  • Is the Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2 enough for preparing for the 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-144 Exams?

I am planning on getting certified as an OCA PL\SQL developer. I will be teaching myself and I have all the material needed to prepare.
Except, I don't have a database that I can solve exercises on and practice commands.
The two exams I will be taking are the :
1Z0-051 exam: Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I
1Z0-144 exam: Oracle Database 11g: Program with PL/SQL
So is the Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2 is enough ?
If it is not what other options do I have (I am running Windows 8.1) ?

Yes -- 11gXE should be sufficient for practicing the vast majority of the skills required for those two exams.  I *think* that PARALLEL is not enabled in XE, so you could not test the functionality referred to in the "Use NOCOPY hint, PARALLEL ENABLE hint and DETERMINISTIC clause" topic of 1Z0-144.  I don't consider that to be a significant problem, however.  The material from the manual should suffice for the questions you'll see.
As for what other options you have, you could download and install VirtualBox (free from Oracle).  You could then make a virtual machine on your Windows 8.1 machine and install Oracle Linux (free from Oracle).  You could then download and install Oracle Enterprise for Linux and install it on your virtual machine (allowable under the licensing when used for learning purposes only).  I have a similar setup on my Windows 7 laptop that I use when I absolutely have to test some feature that requires Oracle Enterprise.  Mind you, when I have the VM running on my system... it is ssssslllllloooooowwwwww because of the memory requirements.  I talk about using virtual machines as a certification aid in the following article:
