Hi,
The question is about Exam 1Z0-216 Oracle E-Business Suite R12: General Ledger and Receivables Fundamentals.
I would like to know how the exam is. I saw that there is two sections with two differents passing scoring : 1- General Ledger 62% 2-Receivables 60%. Does that means you can succeed a section and fail another? Why they don't make two differents exam like 11i. I'm very confuse. If someone can explain me how this exam work, i would appreciate.

You can be fairly certain if you fail one section you will fail the entire exam. For example if you get 92% on General ledger but only 58% on Receivables then you will fail the receivables section and therefore need to retake the whole exam.
If you would like to pay nearly double the amount for two different exams then so be it ;-)
Anyway if you know the material well enough then you will pass.

Although I am an Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) for the Developer Track, Incase the Hand On Course is required for accomplish it, Can i attend only one Hand On Course like Essential and get all my exams and certifications by only one course or i have to attend all courses for all exams???

You are referring to two separate certifications below:
E-Business Suite R12 Financials Certified Expert Consultant, Payables and E-Business Suite R12 Financials Certified Expert Consultant, Receivables. You can obtain both certifications by passing the 3 exams 204, 215 and 216 and completing one course as well as the course completion form.
You are not required to complete a course for each exam that you take. On each exam page, we list recommened training. This is the course or courses that we feel will best help you prepare for the exam. However, these courses are not required. You can select one course from a list of approved courses that will fulfill your training requirement. E72 unable to discover BH-216 headset?

Greetings!
I have just bought a Nokia E72 to replace my old Nokia 6120c. Now, the 6120c was a great phone, but lacking a full keyboard as well as WLAN and GPS made me go for the E72.
Now, I have a strange problem: The E72 is unable to discover my BH-216 BT headset, that was previously paired to the 6120c, and works perfectly with the old phone.
The E72 however is unable to even detect the BH-216, and I do not know why? I already deleted the pairing on my 6120c, but I don't think this has any effect? Do I need to do anything special to get this to work?
I'm puzzled by this problem...

Obviously, the BH-216 stores its pariring. Switch BH-216 off, then back on (hold on/off button for 6 seconds until green LED starts to flash rapidly) => Device open for discovery and new pairing.

Unable to access Smart View 11.1.2.5.216 within Outlook 2007

All,
I uninstalled Smart View 11.1.1.3.x from my MS Windows 7 (x32) Professional SP1 machine and installed Smart View 11.1.2.5.216 during the same session (ie, without rebooting).
While SmartView comes up perfectly fine when I access Excel, Word and PowerPoint and I can connect to the various 11.1.2.3.00 EPM data sources, I cannot see the Smart View ribbon under MS Outlook. This is in spite of:
- having changed my MS Office 2007 installation to run Visual Basic Scripting Support on my PC for MS Outlook 2007 only (ie, via Control Panel > Programs and Features > MS Office Standard 2007 > Change > Add or Remove Features);
- deleting the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hyperion Solutions key and underlying sub-keys, after uninstalling 11.1.1.3 and before installing 11.1.2.5.216
There are no disabled COM add-ins displayed under MS Outlook 2007 and there were no further Hyperion-related entries (ie, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Hyperion.CommonAddin) to amend\delete under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\AddIns. Moreover, I searched but could not find the Smart View PST file on my machine.
Would anyone have any suggestions as to where else I could be looking and\or what else I could be doing to enable Smart View under MS Outlook 2007?

Yeah for SmartView in outlook it does need PST file and on installation it created it automatically.
Could you try adding smartview addin in outlook,
and browse hsaddin.dll and hstbar.xla which are smartview required files.hstbar.xla in mandate one. do try this. if it doesn't work then i would suggest you to try uninstalling SmartView
reboot your machine
open cmd prompt with admin rights and navigate to the path where smartview executable is present and launch it through cmd prompt , it would install smartview with full admin rights and solve most of the issues.

Upgraded SCCM 2012 SP1 to CU5 - Problem updating Endpoint Protection Client (to V4.5.216.0)

We upgraded SCCM SP1 to CU5. We got one primary site, on which we had no problems with running the CU setup. After the upgrade we pushed the new administrator console and client.
SP1 CU5 - console update -> Updated on all administrator users (50 computers)
SP1 CU5- x64 and x86 client update -> Updated on pilot group (50 computers)
No problems so far.
We are having troubles updating the Endpoint Protection Client version. This was V4.1.522.0 before the upgrade. When we enroll a new computer, it receives the new V4.5.216.0, which is the last version.
But we can't update our older clients. We try to deploy the software update (Update for Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 Client - 4.5.216.0 (KB2952678)) but it doesn't install. After 20 minutes, if I look in the Deployment logs, it says the installation
was successfull; but it isn't, it's still the old version.
Strange thing is, we can upgrade to an inbetween version (Update for Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 Client - 4.3.215.0 (KB2864366)). Which installs on a test client.
If I look to the cache files of the new EP Client update, and use the UpdateInstall.exe manually, the update does install. Then I see in the logfile EndpointProtectionAgent.log it still refers to the version 4.1.522.0.

Errors in 1z0-051 and 1z0-061 Official Oracle exam guides

What can we do about errors in the official Oracle exam guides.
I am doing the 1z0-061 (Oracle Database 12c: SQL Fundamentals).
The 051 and 061 exams are exactly the same.
051 is written by John Watson and Roopesh Ramklass and the 061 is written by Ramklass, but the thing is, both books have the same content word for word.
I found these errors in the books:
(1.) In chapter 08 (Using subqueries to solve problems) in both books it says "A subquery can be used to select rows for insertion but not in a VALUES clause of an INSERT statement".
But this is wrong. You CAN use a subquery in a VALUES clause: This will work ->
INSERT INTO values_test (f1) VALUES ((SELECT SYSDATE FROM DUAL));
However you have to have the 2 brackets in red.
(2.)
Chapter 2: Self test question 9
The following character literal expression is selected from the DUAL table: SELECT 'Coda""s favorite fetch toy is his orange ring' FROM DUAL; (Choose the result that is returned.)
A. An error would be returned due to the presence of two adjacent quotes
B. Coda's favorite fetch toy is his orange ring
C. Coda""s favorite fetch toy is his orange ring
D. Coda""s favorite fetch toy is his orange ring'
The books says the correct answer is B. But this is wrong.
Correct answer is C, since the "" are 2 double quotes and they will appear as it is.
Even if "", is actually 4 single quotes the output then will be Coda''s favorite fetch toy is his orange ring
which has 2 single quotes.
I wrote to the author (emai [email protected]) but got no reply.
How can we let Oracle certification know that there are errors in these books. This can affect the exam and can mean the difference between passing and failing.

Can i use "Oracle Database 12c: Performance Management and Tuning " training for getting certification on "Oracle Database 11g: Performance Tuning 1Z0-054"

i have taken "Oracle Database 12c: Performance Management and Tuning new" training from oracle university. Now i would like to get certified on "Oracle Database 11g: Performance Tuning 1Z0-054" exam. Is it possible ?

I essentially endorse and refer you to Matthews' and John's post above.
I would differ with slightly with Matthew because my guess is you would often be able to use like for like 12c training for an 11g certification ( I believe there are precedents). BEFORE ANYONE ASKS THE OTHER WAY DOESN'T HAPPEN.
.... but totally concur with Matthew you would ill advised to procede on that basis without one of:
- This being advertised as possible on the website : e.g. https://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=654&get_params=p_id:169 ... option 2 show courses.
- Confirmation from Brandye
- Confirmation from an Oracle Certification Support Web Ticket ( http://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP )
... The more common (and in my opinion usually better) way would be get your 11g DBA OCP ( or higher first) and then take the 1z0-054. I am almost certain they will accept your 12c course for the 11g DBA OCP.
If you are choosing the route of not being a 11g (or 12c ) DBA OCP first but are on option 2 and relying on the course for certification then the issue is more in the balance and you are even more strongly advised to get confirmation before proceding (remember if the rules need to be changed for you only then any profit out of the exam is lost).
In general my understanding is Oracle would prefer to encourage people to train on the latest version of product that is available for training and will prefer to avoid restrictions which would cause you to train at a lower version. ( This is simply my guess at Oracle University Policy ... personal opinion only).
Having said all I have said I'd encourage you to go with the advice of the earlier two posts.

Forms11g Installation-Error starting OPMN server-216.34.131.135:BIND error

Hi,
I am getting an error while installing Forms 11g.
As in the installation manual, i have installed Weblogic server and then installed the forms/reports (select only Forms Server, Report Server, Forms Builder, Report Builder and HTTP Server). The software installation completed, but the configuration failed with following errors..
Error creating ASInstance asinst_FR.
Cause: An internal operation has failed: Error in starting opmn server
Operation aborted because of a system call failure or internal error
Action: See logs for more details.

Weblogic 11 G Certification 1Z0-102 Contents Updated?

I've been working for 1Z0-102 Weblogic 11g Exam since some time now and I recently checked the exam objectives to validate my prep. It looks like it has been reduced and although objectives still cover clustering and fail over, exam contents do not !
Am I looking at wrong information, or it has been updated? Was it ever there? I can recall having these topics in WLS 11G Cert. Can someone validate?

It is possible (though infrequent) for exam topics to be updated; there are precedents for this; it happened on DBA OCA/OCP 10gR1->10gR2 and for Solaris 10 under sun. It also happens sometimes after beta.
That is why it is always useful to periodically go back and check as you have sensibly done.
I admit my knowledge of weblogic is patchy. I know very few some obscure parts, a lot of basics I don't know.
From the knowledge I have (which may be imperfect) I believe you are right to question why:
On the exam topics page: http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=5001&get_params=p_exam_id:1Z0-102&p_org_id=&lang= there appears to be noo mention of any clustering topics. On the associated certifcation page http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=458&get_params=p_track_id:Weblogic11g as you rightly say the certification does cover clustering. The suggested training course: http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=609&p_org_id=1001&lang=US&get_params=dc:D58682GC20,p_preview:N .... covers clusters.
At least three possibilities exist:
- Clustering covered under other topics or throughout exam (IMHO unlikely)
- Clustering topics were in exam, but removed, and certiifcation description not changed to suit.
- Clustering topics are on exam but missed from topics list on the webpage
Brandye (cert forum moderator) is usually great at checking this and following up (but she can anlso randomly on holiday etc) .... but IMHO there is more than enough reason here to raise a SR here (note it may take a few days to get an answer):

( Not sure about which Issue type to choose ... its a toss up between ( BEA Certifcation / Certification details or OTHER) ... I think OTHER might be safest).

I see a number of certifcations / exams which appear to be related to weblogic / weblogic clusters to a greater/lesser degree:
Oracle WebLogic Server 10g System Administrator Certified Expert (WLS 10g OCE via 1z0-108 ) #### This certainly covers clusters ...
Oracle Certified Associate, Oracle WebLogic Server 11g System Administrator ( WLS 11g OCA via 1z0-102)
Oracle Cloud Application Foundation Certified Implementation Specialist (CLOUDAPP OCS via 1Z0-468) ### very loose connection ( beta finishing soon)
Oracle Application Grid 11g Essentials (APPGRID OCS via 1z0-523) ### quite loose connection
Oracle WebLogic Server 12c Certified Implementation Specialist (WLS 12c OCS via 1z0-599) ### Covers cluster
... I suspect as the WLS 11g OCA is at OCA level I postulate it may have been felt appropriate to leave clustering it for a later or different exam (e.g. WLS OCP 11 should that ever appear). Generally the OCS exams are for Oracle Partners and often lean towards installation/deployment of the associated product and things needed by a partner.

OCP: Exam 1Z0-040

Can anyone pls provide the details on study guides available in the market for oracle 10g release 2 (OCP 1Z0-040 exam)?
Surfed in net but couldnt find any certification study guides for oracle 10g R2.
I am not asking for free dumps or free study guides just names of the book available in the market. In a plan to buy from store only :)
I have guides written by bob bryla and sam alapati. but they are for oracle 10g release 1.
Pls dont suggest oracle course,its too costly and i cant afford that much :(

DBStudying for and passing the exam has benefit to you, but without the resident course, you can't actually get the OCP.

Which book topics to follow for exam 1Z0-007? Sybex or Oracle press?

Hi, I am studying following both books for exam 1Z0-007 but sybex book by Chip Dawes covers more topics then oracle book. I am wondering if i still need to study those topics in sybex book which are not covered in oracle press book? For example DML Locks have been discussed in detail in sybex book as compare to oracle book and few topics are missing in oracle press and don't know if there will be any question in the exam from those topics?

The proper method is to look at the exam topics on [http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=41&p_org_id=1001&lang=US&p_exam_id=1Z0_007] which is authorative.
either the Sybex or Oracle Press book is authorative, and sometimes exam changes after these are printed (with revision from 9iR1 to9iR2 for example).
In general you should probably have enough material in the two books given for this exam. Its probably cheaper to take the exam itself rather than buy additional Selftest questions. Your time may well be better spent practicing the things you have trouble with. Also be aware these books can have errors. And learn whichever is in either book even if it isnt examined. Its good for you!
