Hi,
I want to know if this new training
Oracle Database 11g: Administer a Data Warehouse
sufficient to prepare for that exam or we need additional training or book (beside documentation off course) ?
If I am not working with an OPN company, what title that I will get after passing the exam?

One additional clarification. You do not have to be working for an OPN company in order to obtain this certification. Anyone can take the exam and pursue this certification and will receive the credential Data Warehousing 11g Certified Implementation Specialist. Those working for an OPN company will receive the additional designation of Oracle PartnerNetwork Certified Specialist.
Regarding training, the OU course that has been identified that has been identified to best help candidates prepare for the exam is 'Oracle Database 11g: Data Warehousing Fundamentals'

Is the Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2 enough for preparing for the 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-144 Exams?

I am planning on getting certified as an OCA PL\SQL developer. I will be teaching myself and I have all the material needed to prepare.
Except, I don't have a database that I can solve exercises on and practice commands.
The two exams I will be taking are the :
1Z0-051 exam: Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I
1Z0-144 exam: Oracle Database 11g: Program with PL/SQL
So is the Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2 is enough ?
If it is not what other options do I have (I am running Windows 8.1) ?

Yes -- 11gXE should be sufficient for practicing the vast majority of the skills required for those two exams. I *think* that PARALLEL is not enabled in XE, so you could not test the functionality referred to in the "Use NOCOPY hint, PARALLEL ENABLE hint and DETERMINISTIC clause" topic of 1Z0-144. I don't consider that to be a significant problem, however. The material from the manual should suffice for the questions you'll see.
As for what other options you have, you could download and install VirtualBox (free from Oracle). You could then make a virtual machine on your Windows 8.1 machine and install Oracle Linux (free from Oracle). You could then download and install Oracle Enterprise for Linux and install it on your virtual machine (allowable under the licensing when used for learning purposes only). I have a similar setup on my Windows 7 laptop that I use when I absolutely have to test some feature that requires Oracle Enterprise. Mind you, when I have the VM running on my system... it is ssssslllllloooooowwwwww because of the memory requirements. I seem to recall at some point that exam vouchers were not transferable .... this may certainly apply to some voucher types ( I guess particularly WDP ones between individuals). But I dont have a reference URL for where I think I saw this.
It is just possible that you previously looked at the exam pricee in a low cost country ... and are now viewing it in a high cost country. Or the change may be due to volatile exchange rates.

Exam 1Z0-591 - Oracle Business Intelligence Foundation Suite 11g Essentials

does anyone knows if this exam can be taken online, or at all ? When pressing 'Register for this exam' at 'Oracle Certification Program: Oracle Technology and Applications Certification ' I'm directed to a general page for exam-registration, but I cannot find the exam at i.e. Pearson VUE. I'm not able to find the exam at 'Oracle University' either.

I'm not really sure what you mean by "find the exam at 'Oracle University' " The exam information page is at the following URL, but that's not where you would schedule the test. The link to that page follows:

I logged in to Pearson Vue and found the 1Z0-591 exam without a problem. If I had any desire (and sufficient knowledge in BI), I could have scheduled it. The exam is there. I can't give you a link to that because it requires logging in.

Hi All,
If I read the book "Getting Started With Oracle SOA Suite 11g R1 - A Hands-On Tutorial" thoroughly will I pass the "Oracle SOA Suite 11g Essentials" Exam?
or do I have to read more?

When I took the exam it covered a lot over the business rules component, but overall the book is a good start.

May i go for sql expert(1Z0-047) exam or 11g sql fundamentals 1(1Z0-051)

You may use either exam along with the Oracle Administration 1 (1Z0-042) exam if your goal is to get a 10g DBA OCA credential.
The SQL Expert exam is quite a bit more challenging than the SQL Fundamentals exam. On the other hand, the SQL Expert exam gives you a separate SQL Certified Expert credential. If you can pass it, you should take the SQL Expert exam.

3) IMHO It is unlikely this exam will have further topic changes from those currently shown on the exam page.

Pearson VUE -- unable to sit 1Z0-052 exam

Good day to everyone,
I am writing to ask for an advice regarding 1Z0-052 exam in Australia with Pearson VUE.
My experience that it is pretty much impossible due to technical issues in testing centres.
I have had the exam scheduled for 5th August 2010 in EXCOM Education (Brisbane, Australia), but the exam failed to start on the day.
After waiting for almost two weeks (Pearson VUE was "investigating incident") and nagging them a few times I've been able to have exam rescheduled to September date. Before the exam date I have been called again and informed that the testing centre is unable to run the exam. Rescheduled again, this time to Dimension Data centre in Brisbane. The nearest available spot happened to be on 25th November.
The exam failed to start again in the new centre. This time again I've had to call Pearson VUE several times over the past three weeks to get a response... that I have to reschedule the exam again, at a new testing centre.
The problem is -- there are no more testing centres in Brisbane. The closest centre offered is more than 700 km away, and there is no guarantee that an exam will actually run there this time.
I am not happy with this solution, as I have wasted two working days already with no results and I don't want to waste time and money again (it would cost me $500 just to get to the testing centre).
Now it is almost five months since I have been ready to pass the exam and I have not a slightest idea when it might possibly happen.
Could anyone tell me if s/he has sat an Oracle 11g Administration I exam (1Z0-052) anywhere in Australia?
I am looking for a testing centre that is actually capable to let me sit the exam, as Pearson just doesn't seem trustworthy anymore.
Or should I just get a refund and forget about Oracle certification?

All problems have been resolved by now.
I have been contacted by the Pearson VUE in the end of December.
They said that there is a new testing centre opening in Brisbane that would be able to deliver the exam.
I was also refunded the exam fee I have paid before and given a voucher code for a free retest.
I have successfully passed the test at the Training Choice testing centre and now happily await the certification kit.
I dare to say that before you interfering my perspectives did not look promising, so thanks for your help.

My name is Jon Toshmatov and I am preparing for 1Z0-051 exam and I would like to ask you a few questions.
First, a little my background, I work for IBM in mainframe storage team and prior to IBM I have a few years of DBA experience.
Within 3 months I want to pass the 1Z0-051 exam and next 3 months 1Z0-052 exam and obtain OCA certification within total 6 months. Is this doable?
I am using this book "OCA Oracle Database 11g SQL Fundamentals I Exam Guide: Exam 1Z0-051 (Osborne ORACLE Press Series) " and Oracle manuals from Oracle website. Any other textbooks you would recommend?
Please share some tips and hints with me so I can build my preparation strategy.

Preparation time depends on the individual and how much time they have. Do not be surprised if your preparation time for 1z0-051is shorter than that for 1z0-052. Also be aware if you want to move to DBA OCP you need mandatory training at some point

Should I use olap plus package in my data warehousing project?

I will build a massive data warehousing which size is over 3t.
And I will provide many analytical functions to users.
Oracle 11g is my choice. But OLAP is suitable for me, I don't know?
In my opinion, OLAP is helpful to analysis, but it's hard to refresh data when it's based on a large table.
