2.0.1.8.0 Cumulative Patch

Just learned that Beehive 2.0.1.0.8 is out: Patch p14372656
Here a citation from "What's New in this Release":
    Oracle Beehive Extensions for Outlook
        Support for Outlook 2013
    Oracle Beehive Extensions for Explorer
        Support for Office 2013
    Web Conferencing
Support for Java 7 on MacOS 10.8
    Supported Software Versions
        Standards based clients
Support for Thunderbird 17.0.2 ESR with Lightning 1.9
        Desktop access
            Support for Windows 8
        Mobile access
            Support for iOS 6
Browser support (does not apply to Beekeeper)
            Support for Firefox 17.0.2 ESR
        Updated Database support
            11.2.0.3
That's good news: the promise to support current clients is fulfilled
so far.

I also learned that Internet Explorer 10 certification requires moving to Beehive 2.0.1.0.8.
Are there already production installations of Beehive 2.0.1.0.8 out there?
Thanks for sharing your experiences.

  • Adobe Reader Patches - lack of cumulative patches!

    Dear Adobe,
Could you *please* think about us poor sods who have to actually maintain your products in enterprise setups?
I dont want to have to install V9.1.1. and then patch with 9.1.2 and then patch with 9.1.3. This is a nightmare. How about either releasing a straight 9.1.3 base product or a consolidated patch that can be applied straight to 9.1.1? You know - like the majority of other software vendors do...? (I know not all do, but in this day and age the lack of cumulative patches is inexcusable).
Yes I'm ranting, but I'm getting rather tired of lots of insecure products and poor management practices from vendors.
    Cheers,
    Mike

  • Latest cumulative patch for 10.2.0.1.0

Can someone tell me what the latest cumulative patch is for release 10.2.0.1.0.
    Operating system is Win2003 32Bit.
I downloaded p4547817_10202_WINNT.zip from metalink, but I'm not sure that's the correct one.
It's not all clear to me what the steps are to find out what the latest patch is for my Database.

I highly recommend you bookmark and review
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/security/alerts.htm
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/support/patches.htm
And of course - assuming you have access to Metalink and permission to manage patches - in Metalink from the 'Patches & Updates' tab you could always click on the "Quick Links to the Latest Patchsets, Mini Packs, and Maintenance Packs" link.
Finally, going to that same patch and update tab, you slick on 'Simple Search' > 'Search by Product or Family' = 'RDBMS Server'; Release = '10.2.0.3' (the target); Type = 'PatchSet or Minipack'; Platform = 'Windows 32 bit' and get your answer ... you do not have the latest.

  • CLI admin password rest using install cdrom not working on ACS 5.5 cumulative patch 1

    Hi,
I can't log onto either of our ACS 5.5 servers using the CLI admin passwords (which we do have recorded and no one appears to have changed ).
I get accessed denied on both.
On our DR ACS I went through the procedure of resetting the CLI admin password using the install cd mounted in the VM (the iso is actually for 5.3) , but even after picking a new password,  I get access denied when I try to use it.
Does anyone know what could be wrong?
Is it possible that patching to ACS 5.5 from ACS 5.3 (a month or so ago) has some how locked out the passwords ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
The reason why it is not working is because you need to use the ISO image or cd for ACS 5.5.
If you try to reset the CLI administrator password with an ISO image or cd for other ACS version it will not take the new password.
Please give it a try with the 5.5 image.

  • Cisco ISE 1.2 Patch 6 -- 8 Update failed

    Hi all,
I wanted to know if any bugs was registered for the cumulative patch 8 for Cisco ISE 1.2 and how to mitigate any patch failures.
Important notice : I though that this error could be an unlucky try but i've tested the update two time.
    Indeed, i have three deployment : A Pre-production one, a 4 nodes distributed and a 2 nodes distributed.
The patch works fine on the pre-production one, on the 2 nodes too but fails on the 4 nodes one with a very anormal behaviour.
On the "show nodes status" in Maintenance - Patch manage, i can see that my both PAN are successfully patched and the first PSN too but when the "Patch in progress" appears on the second PSN, the "installed" status is cancelled in the first PSN and become "Patch in progress" so i've two "Patch in progress" in parallel, that is an anormal procedure not discribed by Cisco on the document "Installing a software Patch". (wich discribe a sequential update of all nodes)
The symptoms after this error are :
    - Unable to process EAP-TLS authentications ! (CA are stored on the First PAN and seems to be unavailable from PSN to exchange the handshake)
    - The Application server try to restart but fails indefinitly even if i try to restart the node (on both PSN)
    - GUI Unavailable
    - MAB Auth is working
    - Endpoint and Endpoint Groups menus are missing on the GUI (I push the MAC Address through the ERS API but it is very strange)
    - Logs indicates one first "Patch success" on PAN and a second "Patch failed" still on PAN :(
The task that resolves this issue is to launch the command "patch remove ise 8" on all nodes and everything come back functional.
My big interrogation is that on my two other deployment, the patch was successfull and quick to process.
    Thanks for your help.

This is that i did abviously... but the two PSN stay in status "Node down", the application service won't start correctly with these ADE-OS logs entries :

  • Adobe Patching / Versioning / sanity checks...

All right... Psyche...   Unlike the title, it seems Adobe knows nothing of these things...  Am about to lose the plot with Adobe nothing anywhere, ever, should be as tiresome and soul sucking as not only over-frequent patching cycles, but the seemingly infinitely deep capacity for Adobe to make it neigh on impossible to maintain a linear and eloquent patch maintenance plan...
I can't figure out is that despite their OOB patches, their security updates and their major quarterlies... I would assume that these patches would all likely affect the same files... e.g. the Quarterlies would have all the rollup / cumulative patches of the interim OOB, security patches...  Why then is it always a case of one patch type breaking another???   Wouldn't it be easier to do some sort of hash or version check so that any increased or newer patch could be applied to an older source... Sure it might mean patches might get a little bigger, but it would also mean that I wouldn't have to start at a raw .msi and patch up incrementally if I would like to have the most recent patches available at any given time...
Have a GPO deployed Reader 9.3.4... Got the 9.4 package and patched the original 9.1 msi up to 9.4, as there was no way I could seemingly get it to apply to my 9.3.4 distribution point...
    Now I get the message...
"Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed.  Setup will now terminate..."
Hmm... Last I checked 9.4 > 9.3.4 according to standard versioning rules???
Any ideas because I grow weary of this fiasco?

If you're pushing the install via GPO or SCCM and having problems, check your event logs. I ran into these messages when trying to use the MUI from the "official" patch page:
Product: Adobe Reader 9.1 MUI -- Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed.  Setup will now terminate.
Confirmed that I was using the 9.4.0 files, so clearly something didn't get updated by Adobe on the versioning.
Once I grabbed the exe off the FTP, pulled out the install files, updated our mst mods, updated packages, and pushed via SCCM, the update worked fine.
This also begs the question why Reader needs what amounts to a reinstall as opposed to Acrobat getting just an MSP this time around. I'd love to know.

  • Oracle Forms Patch 10 for 8i

Does Oracle Forms Patch 10 apply to Oracle 8i or do you have to be on 9i? Also, does applying patch 10, catch you up on all previous patches (1-9)?.

The latest Forms 6i patch is 12. It is not 8, 8i or 9i specific. You need to check the related certification matrix and review the patch readme file to find out if the fixed bugs valid for your platform/configuration. For example, if you are running Forms 6i against a 9.2 database, the only certified 6i patch is 12.
The patches are cumulative - patch 12 includes previous patch fixes.
    hope this proves useful
    regards

  • 8.1.5.0.2 patch now OK!!

That linux_patches.tgz ( cumulative patch from 8.1.5.0.1 to 8.1.5.0.2 ) is now ok. That is, it is no longer corrupted and I was able to completely ungzip and untar the file.
I still have to see though if it fixes the "Load Indicator" problem, but the README file "seems "to indicate that it does fix it:

  • Sequence of patches to apply

    Hello!!
    Tell me, please.
How to see the sequence of patches?
    For example,
    I have Hyperion 11.1.1.3.0 and i want get :
EPM Workspace, HFM, FR (requires 11.1.1.3.28),
    EPMA, HSS (requires 11.1.1.3.11)
Open tabs: Patches & Update (Oracle.Support)
    Select:
    product- HSS
    Release HSS 11.1.1.3
    Windows x64
get a result of 30 patches
    1 of 30
    Installing Release 11.1.1.3.11 Patch 9447876
    and
    11690104 (Contains fixes for 9027956, 9151497, and 9447876 (Patch) )
Is there any document or instrument (such as a plan - isn't suitable for hipereona?) where i can see what need patch and sequence of their application to the latest version.

    There is no automated way...
I would go product by product and look specifically at the bundled "Service Fixes". Do not worry initially about the merge patches.
Look specifically at the requirements a lot of times planning depends on business rules and Workspace and calc mgr...etc. Also look to see if it is a cumulative patch and the pre-requisite patch number that it should be applied on top of.
It can be complicated, but after looking at the readmes for a while it will start to make sense. Build a spreadsheet that starts to highlight the dependencies and patches you come up with.
Once you have the basic plan then you can review some merge patches to see if any after the last "Service Fix" has any interest to you.

  • Announcement : New SPS Patch Release (v 6.0.3) Now Available

A newer release of Service Provisioning System (version 6.0.3) is now available for download on sunsolve
The Release Notes for this release are available here and is a good place to start.
    {color:#0000ff}*You are strongly encouraged to go through the Release Notes AND the README instructions of all the patches thoroughly before starting your patch installations.*{color}
The following are the key changes that were incorporated in this release.
    1) A fix in the SPS transport layer code was implemented to provide performance optimization of deployment jobs over a raw, SSH or SSL connection. Specifically, customers using an SSL connection between MS and the RA/LD nodes can observe noticeable performance improvements while deploying large payloads.
    2) A fix was also added to correct the default database encoding for customers who want to use extended ASCII character sets. This would not only facilitate clean database migration between 5.2 to 6.0 of any UTF-8 characters, but also ensure data integrity on fresh 6.0 installation. It's strongly recommended that customers take necessary steps to apply this fix on their SPS 6.0 installations.
    3) Certain GUI related      bugs were fixed and some missing functionality was added back.
    4) It is to be noted that this is a cumulative patch on top of the earlier patch release version 6.0.2. Hence all the bug fixes that were delivered with the 6.0.2 patch are also accumulated into the 6.0.3 patch
    5) Response time of GUI login validation has been improved.

another option would be to make either the n1sps export not writing explicit end tags
    <element />
    instead of
    <element></element>
    or
making the import / schema a bit less sensitive about whitespace within elements. The current bug, that you cannot export the xml, reformat in netBeans and then re-import is extremely annoying.

  • Patch 8290549 for oracle 9.2.0.8

    Hi,
I need to install April patch 8290549 for oracle 9.2.0.8 but have some doubts if it
is cumulative patch and if it is include Jan patch.
I will appreciate if someone could help with the two questions below.
Is April patch 8290549 for oracle 9.2.0.8 is cumulative patch ?
Is it include January patch 7592365 ?
    Thank You,
    Ronen

All CPUs released by Oracle are cumulative i.e. they include all the fixes from the first CPU released for a particular release (f.ex. 9.2.0.8) till the current one.
The Readme for the patch itself has following lines
    <quote>
Critical patch update (CPU) patches are cumulative, which means fixes from previous Oracle security alerts and critical patch updates are included. It is not required to have previous security patches applied before applying the CPUApr2009 patches. However, you must be on the stated patch set level for a given product home before applying the CPUApr2009 patches for that release.

TCP Port 8080 is used for the transfer
You start with the management package , then the software package , after that you patch the server.

Resolved Issues in Cisco ISE Version 1.1.0.665—Cumulative Patch 4
Lists the issues that are resolved in Cisco Identity Services Engine Maintenance Release 1.1.0.665 cumulative patch 4.
You must deploy this patch on Cisco Identity Services Engine Maintenance Release 1.1.0.665 (with or without patch 1, 2, and 3 applied), otherwise the patch install will fail and Cisco ISE will return an error message stating, "This patch is intended to be installed on ISE 1.1.0.665."
To obtain the patch file necessary to apply the patch to Cisco ISE Release 1.1, log into the Cisco Download Software site at http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/navigator.html?a=a&i=rpm (you might be required to provide your Cisco.com login credentials), navigate to Security > Access Control and Policy > Cisco Identity Services Engine > Cisco Identity Services Engine Software, and save a copy of the patch file to your local machine. Then refer to the "Installing a Software Patch" section of the "Administering Cisco ISE" chapter of the Cisco Identity Services Engine User Guide, Release 1.1. for instructions on how to apply the patch to your system.
If you experience problems installing the patch, please contact Cisco Technical Assistance Center.

    Caveat
    Description
    CSCui22841
    Apache Struts2 command execution   vulnerability
Cisco ISE includes a version of Apache   Struts that is affected by the vulnerabilities identified by the following   Common Vulnerability and Exposures (CVE) IDs: CVE-2013-2251. This fix   addresses the potential impact on this product.
    Managing Software Patches
You can install patches on ISE servers in your deployment from the primary administration node. ISE patches are usually cumulative; however, any restrictions on the patch installation will be described in the README file that will be included with the patch. Cisco ISE allows you to perform patch installation and rollback from either the command-line interface (CLI) or GUI.
    Standalone Deployment
When you install or roll back a patch from a standalone or primary administration node, ISE restarts the
Application. You might have to wait for a few minutes before you can log back in.
    Distributed Deployment
When you install or roll back a patch from the primary administration node that is part of a distributed deployment, Cisco ISE installs the patch on the primary and all the secondary nodes in the deployment. If the patch installation is successful on the primary node, Cisco ISE then proceeds to the secondary nodes. If it fails on the primary node, the installation is aborted. However, if the installation fails on any of the secondary nodes for any reason, it still continues with the next secondary node in your deployment.
