2.0.1, no iPhone to iPhone calling

Updated iPhone 3G to 2.0.1, called my sister with original iPhone, version 2.0 software. Call connects, we can't hear each other! Totally dead air. Then call fails, have tried calling 10 tens and it doesn't work. Bluetooth echo is worse that before. Reception seems to better on 3G and it switch down to Edge where 3G is week works now. Only wish I could talk to my sister. Come on Apple, get your act together, this is getting old Fast!

Possible Resolution??
I just had the same problem after a reboot.
Steps leading up to problem:
I have been running 2.0.1 since day one with no issue. I do not use bluetooth, but today started to play with a headset I have. I could not access the internet and thought a reboot may help (prior to the reboot my phone was in airplane mode, WiFi enabled and Bluetooth enabled), when I rebooted WiFi was greyed out.
Action taken to correct:
I turned off Bluetooth and reset the phone by pressing and holding down the Power and Home buttons until the apple logo appeared. When the phone completed the reboot WiFi was back.
I hope this helps someone else get their phone working again.
Thanks,
Carl

Those were added by syncing from iTunes and need to be deleted by syncing again using the instructions quoted below from Sync photos to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch in iTunes - Apple Support
    Delete synced photos
In iTunes, locate and click on your device.

  • Why can't my iMac be on Ethernet with WiFi ON (to allow iPhone Calling)?

With iOS 8's option to allow other Apple devices to make and receive iPhone calls, I read its help article (LINK: OS X Yosemite: Use your Mac to make and receive phone calls ) and saw that the Mac needs to have WiFi on.  My desktop internet has always been more reliable with an ethernet connection, but I want this iPhone calling feature, so I turned on the WiFi also.  In preferences I DID change the order so that Ethernet comes BEFORE WiFi, but once I turn WiFi on, NO connection works at all!!  My browser keeps displaying a message that it can't reach the network.
(The ethernet cord is plugged into the same router transmitting the WiFi signal.  Other devices that "need to be on the same network", like my TiVo & Blu-Ray Player, are connected with Ethernet with WiFi off, yet still recognize my network remote controls that are using WiFi.  Why doesn't the iMac seem to work that way?)
How do I use my more reliable Ethernet connection for everyday iMac usage, but still use FaceTime's "allow iPhone calls" feature?

It should work the way you describe. Mine is set up that way and it works. Internet via Ethernet cable and iphone on same network via WiFi.
what are the IP Addresses you are getting on your Mac?

  • HT4009 I downloaded a game on my Iphone called shopping story from storm8 and purchased coins with diamonds that were not intended for it. How can I reverse it?

Hi, I purchases an app on my Iphone, called fashion story, by STORM8. My Storm id is purrrrfection and I'm at level 19. I made an accidental purchase of 100,000 coins for 100 diamonds and and I also accidentally purchased ankle bracelet for around 25000 coins or 50000 coins, don't really remember. How can I reverse it?

If you want to return your iPhone, you must do so through whoever you purchased the iPhone from. If that was someone other than an Apple Store, either online or physical, then that dealer's return policies will apply; Apple will have nothing to say about it. You may have to talk to Sprint in regards to your contract with them. I believe you have 30 days to return your phone and cancel your contract, but I'm not certain about Sprint.
iTunes works fine under Windows on many, many systems, including Acer. Perhaps if you'll post details here, someone can help you sort things out. The thread you refer discusses an earlier version of iTunes and probably no longer applies even if that were the problem on your system, though I cannot say with certainty.  Note that if you are running Windows 7 Starter on your netbook, that version is reported to have problems with a lot of software, not just iTunes. Many people have installed and run iTunes quite successfully, though.
they claim iTunes is a whole seperate brand from Apple computers they know nothing about
I don't know who you talked to, but either there was a misunderstanding - the statement would apply perhaps to the iTunes Store, but not to iTunes as a program - or that person was an idiot. iTunes, the program, is most definitely an Apple product and should be supported fully by the Apple Store technical staff.
    Regards.

Actually I have found one more input into this. My wifi network supports 802.11b+g+n and not 802.11ac.
Could this be the possible problem ?

  • Can't place iPhone call from Mac (can receive calls though)

-MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013) with Yosemite (10.10)
    -iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1
Both use same iCloud account and same FaceTime account. Both have 'iPhone Cellular Calls' enabled under FaceTime settings.
I cannot place an outgoing call from my Mac. I've been getting an error 'iPhone Calls Not Available. Your iPhone must use the same iCloud and FaceTime account' but it does indeed..
I tried to reboot both devices, signed out/in iCloud, played with the toggle-switches - still nothing. Though when I am receiving an incoming call on iPhone - I can take it on Mac.
The only idea I have - my cellular provider is not supported by Apple FaceTime server so I've been using only AppleID to place FaceTime calls (no phone number used) and it's been working fine up to now. But if you go into FaceTime settings of my iPhone you see 'Activation unsuccessful.'
Can anyone confirm if you can place calls from Mac with having FaceTime activated only by AppleID (no cellular phone number) on your iPhone?
    Thanks.

I was able to get it worked after enabling iMessage/FaceTime with my phone number. This issue made me to find out a way to do that -)
In case you are with WIND (Canada) here is the solution to activate FaceTime:

  • Crackling noise during iPhone call on Yosemite

I am using an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.0.2 and an Early 2011 15" MacBook Pro. When I use the iPhone calling with Yosemite feature, it connects, works, but I hear a very loud crackling noise that comes from the computer, starting immediately when the call is placed and continuing for a few seconds after I hang up, no matter what number I dial. Has anyone else experienced the same problem? Might it just be interference? It is so loud that it gets picked up by the microphone and makes having a sustainable call impossible.
    Thanks for your help!

I found this happening when I was calling with Yosemite through my iPhone 5, but only when I was calling my wife's iPhone 4. When I called my land line, the noise wasn't there. Were you calling an iPhone 4?

  • Is iPhone call logs that primitive

It looks like I am missing some thing. I just cannot believe iPhone call log is so primitive. I could not get the following information from the call logs:
    1. Is it an incoming or outgoing call?
    2. How long was the call?
    3. List of calls made / received to/from a particular number
    4. Call logs that lasts 30days or more.
First 2 has been there in all the phones including the very basic ones for many many years.
Secnd 2 has been there in BlackBerry for atleast 4 years that I know.
Is there an app that would provide these capabilities. Looks like there is an app for all the Apple shortcomings, I would think there is one for this also.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

If I may ask you, do you own a iPhone? The reason why I ask is because that way your statement was made, you don't owe one, or maybe you're just a new user... well, you said that the call logs of the iPhone is primitive... now let's do this point by point. I hope this will clarify things with you
    Point # 1
Q : Is it an incoming or outgoing call?
A : Under the Phone Icon, tap on it, then tap RECENTS, & from the arrow to the right, tap on that & there you'll see if the call is an "Incoming or Outgoing."
    Point # 2
Q : How long was the call?
A : I've got no answer for this question. For me, there's no point of knowing the length of the call, whether outgoing or incoming.
    Point # 3
Q : List of calls made / received to / from a particular number
A : Again, you'll see this list from the RECENTS calls. From this lists, you can see if the calls were made yesterday or today & if it's today, you'll see the time the call was made, outgoing or incoming. There's even a tab above the name list where you can see "ALL" or "MISSED" calls only.
    Point # 4
Q : Call logs that lasts 30days or more.
A : Again, why do you need a call log that keeps your calls for 30days. iPhone call logs last at least a week. For me, that's long enough already.

  • My iPhone calls the wrong number

When I try to call a specifik mobilenumber the iPhone calls another number. So I have one contact/numer that I can´t call at all. What is this? And what can I do?

The problem seems to be at the  iTunes store end.  There are 2 accounts with the same user name (Apple ID).

  • Continuity:  Microphone does not work during Continuity/iPhone calls

    MacPro, Yosemite (10.10.2)
    iPhone 4S, 8.1.3
Continuity has worked fine for me in the past.  However, I now have an issue where I can make calls from my Mac....they go through with trouble....but my microphone is not passed through to the call.  I can hear them...they cannot hear me.
Voice-to-text, FaceTime, and Skype all work fine, so I know that my microphone is not having troubles.
This is the first time I have used this since upgrading to 10.10.2 or ios 8.1.3.  So, possibly related...possibly not.
    Ideas?

    Errr.....sorry guys. I mis-typed something....
When I make a call, it goes through WITHOUT any trouble.  No trouble that is except nobody can hear me.
