2.0.1 update has wiped my contacts details!

Since the update all of my contacts have been disassociated from their numbers. All recent calls and texts are there, but with numbers and no names. And all contacts are there in the phonebook, but without numbers.
My iPhone hasn't been jail broken ever.
What's up with that?! All contacts on my mac are just fine. I've even tried to sync them again with no change.
Is anyone else noticing this?

I found a solution in case anyone else has this problem. It was provided by "aftcb4g" http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1618254&tstart=0&start=30
He wrote "What worked for me going into account settings on iphone, turning off contact syncing, and then turning it right back on. Went into contacts and they appeared momentarily, then all disappeared. Syncing indicator at top of screen started spinning, and then in about 10 minutes (2000 contacts) all contacts restored complete."
This worked for me too.

Restore from previous backup, be sure use the same iTunes and account you used to store your stuff into your device.

Wont sync music and now the new update has wiped out my 2,000 contacts!!!

If you'd like to ask a question and get help there are people here who like to help. if you just want to just rant then don't expect much help. While most here can sympathize with you on lost data, there are thousands of posts here with either how-to's on making backups or links to those same how-to's. All of Sdgardne's posts (and there are tens of thousands) have links to how to set up and maintain backups.

The new update has wiped 6 months of writing!

I just updated my ipad, and with it the pages application. And now my entire programe is wiped. Along with it, 6 months of writing of stories and projects I have been working on. How can I get it back? I assumed there would be a back up on itunes, but the app on itunes is also completely blank! I am desperate for ideas!

New software update has cleared my contacts and notes app no longer working

Help! I'm traveling and today when I turned on my phone getting off the plane, the s/w updated and all of my contacts are gone. i use the HTC People app, not google contacts. Also the Notes application no longer works, and comes up with an error to force close. Any ideas on reversing the s/w upgrade or getting my contacts back? Thank you.

If you were using Verizon's backup assitant you should be able to hit Menu | Settings | Accounts & Sync | add account and select backup assitant and it should prompt you for your pin number and restore your contacts. If you were not your only option for restore would be if you had backup software installed, or if you sync'ed using HTC Sync to outlook or some other program...I wish you the best of luck.

Latest update has wiped my iPhone

I installed today's iPhone update and now my PC says there are no drivers installed and iTubnes won't recognise it. Worse still, it has teh graphic on the screen you get when you first buy it telling you to connect to iTunes. Any ideas?

Having the same problem. I updated and my phone suddenly showed minimal battery power and turned off. Now I it is stuck in a power cycle and won't boot up, gets to the apple screen and cycles power. Try doing a System Restore.Choose a date before the update that messed up your machine. Not sure what OS you are running so will post links to both Win 7 and Win 8.

How can i get my notes back after ios8 update has wiped them all?

After updating my ipad to my horror my notes have all been deleted
It's really important to me to get them back. My daughter died 8 weeks ago and there were things that we wrote together on there. Irreplaceable things.
Why didnt apple warn of this before releasing the update
Also hate what its done to my photos. Again no warning
i followed advice from these forums and plugged into laptop and itunes and restored.
I now have even less. Half my apps have now gone too

I understand that your text messages are missing after an update on your iPhone. If you have a backup of your device on either iTunes or iCloud, you can restore from that backup and bring your information back. Address Book RSET has wiped all contacts not just the unwanted ones

I'm on an 8520 Curve running v5.0.0.681.
I recently added an e mail account for my wife. In adding it, I allowed her contacts to be synched in. After deleting the e mail account, her contact list stayed (all1700 of them) swamping my contacts.
I read on these forums that using RSET in Address Book Options would remove the list. It did but also removed all my contacts. There is no back up on a PC or on my SIM. I can't even add contacts manually as they refuse to save.
Any ideas on how to get my contacts back or at least to allow them to be re-input manually?

I've solved this myself now.
The problem was that in doing the RSET it got rid of the address book from the BB phone. Address book was effectively not installed.
I followed http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB2...
I have my contacts back too as they were synched with my e mail account contacts. I still have the issue of deleting all the contacts from my e mail account that I don't want on my phone.
BB should have better warnings on using RSET

Yesterday did update and now have lost everything as went back to factory settings. Some iTunes logo came up couldn't do anything 300 photos lost

Go to settings do a reset when reset is done you will need to enter your Wireless key for your router. Then go to software updates and download new update 8.0.2 That help me. Bsydd uk

I don't know enough to not follow directions. I bought the software brand new in a sealed from factory box. Had it sitting around until - last week when I deleted flash on my computer and had to upgrade to the new OSX. Mountain Lion doesn't use iPhoto - so I had to go with something else. Since I already had this new - unopened package I opened it up. Shut down all running programs - inserted the disk and followed all the directions for installation. Still it didn't work.
I have now uninstalled it (the proper way) and am going to try again.

The first thing you should do is have your friend log out of your account and change your password.
Do you have a back up from when you had the contacts on your phone.
