2.0.2 is the problem (step by step on how I bricked 2 iPhones in 2 days)

So yesterday I made a trip to the Apple store by my work to take care of my bricked 3G (by bricked I mean it's siting on the loading screen and doing nothing). Here's how it bricked.
I was moving icons around and deleting apps in the menus (2.0.2), I got a phone call from a friend, as soon as he hung up the iPhone was frozen. Plugging into iTunes did nothing but freeze itunes.
So I ended up getting a replacement phone, bricked that this morning, here's how.
I was moving icons around and deleting apps in the menus (2.0.2 again), after doing so, I clicked on the settings, iPhone bricked. Plugged it into iTunes @ work, seems to be doing something, prolly going to have to restore.
UPDATE: Couldn't restore, looks like another trip to the Apple store this evening.
So what this tells me is that Apple needs to scrap the 2.0.2 update ASAP, put 2.0 or 2.0.1 (or release 2.0.3) back on iTunes so I don't have to deal with a $300 paperweight.

Stop wasting time to go to Apple store. A lot of people got stuck at the Apple Logo and I think we should also start a title for S.A.D (Silver Apple of Death) together with 3G reception thread.
I have also encountered numerous iBrick, S.A.D and all you need to do is:
1. Completely shut off your iPhone by press WAKE/SLEEP and Home Button until you iPhone is completely shut off.
2. HOLD the HOME button while connecting the Sync cable to your iPhone and PC. (DO NOT RELEASE THE HOME BUTTON YET)
3. Wait until your iPhone enters the Recovery Mode. Which you will see the picture telling you to connect to iTunes.
4. Go to iTunes and click on Restore iPhone.
Sorry, this is a very long process and extremely tedious. You must need iTunes to un brick your phone. You can't do power recycle like every other cell phone on the market. Pitty Apple!
So DON'T WASTE TIME AND GAS to go to Apple store for exchange when iBrick, unless you just want a new phone again.

And without info - it's near to impossibly to help. Try my general troubleshooting note:
Troubleshooting note
When iMovie doesn't work as intended this can be due to a lot of reasons
iMovie Pref files got corrupted - trash it/they and iMovie makes new and error free one's
problem in iMovie Cache folder - trash Cache.mov and Cache.plist
Creating a new User-Account and log into this
This forces iMovie to create all pref. and cache files new and error free
Event or Project got corrupted - try to make a copy and repair
a Codec is used that doesn't work (even though iMovie and/or iDVD tries to / they fail in the end)
version miss match of QuickTime Player / iMovie / iDVD
preferences are wrong - Repair Preferences
other hard disk problem - Repair Hard Disk (Disk Util tool - but start Mac from ext HD or DVD)
External hard disks - MUST BE - Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted to work with Video
( UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - works for most other things - but not for Video )
USB-flash-memories - usually do not work
Net-work connected hard disks - usually do not work (most often not fast enough and WRONGLY FORMATTES as DOS etc)
iPhoto Library got problems - let iPhoto select another one or repair it. Re-build this first then try to re-start iMovie. When iMovie starts-up it first look trough this iPhoto library and if faulty it all Halt’s.
This You do by
First - close iPhoto
Secondly - on start up of iPhoto - Keep {cmd and alt-keys down}
Thirdly - now select all five options presented
THEN - WAIT a long long time (>20 hours are not strange)
free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk to low (<1Gb) - I never go under 25Gb free space for SD-Video (4-5 times more for HD)
external devices interferes - turn off Mac - disconnect all of them and - Start up again and re-try
GarageBand fix - start GB - play a few notes - Close it again and now try iMovie
Screen must be set to million-colors
Third-party plug-ins doesn't work OK
Run "Cache Out X", clear out all caches and restarts the Mac
Let Your Mac be turned on during one night. At about midnight there is a set of maintenance programs that runs and tidying up. This might help
Turn off Your Mac - and disconnect Mains - for about 20-30 minutes - at least this resets the FireWire port.
In QuickTime - DivX, 3ivx codec, Flip4Mac, Perian etc - might be problematic - temporarily move them out and re-try
(I deleted the file "3ivxVideoCodec.component" located in Mac HD/Library/Quicktime and this resolved my issue.)

i have an iphone and yes i bought it! the problem as described above, is with all my Apple IDs, actual emails and devices i own.
after upgrading the iphone to iOS 7 im stucked at the activation lock and im OK with that - i can see my email (i guess) as the one supposed to free my phone.
still when i try to login with my details i receive the "********@gmail.com cannot be used to unlock this phone" - and truely i see other devices under this Apple ID but not the one im trying to unlock.
i deeply understand this security mechanism, the only thing im asking for is an option to send an email to the specific email attached to this phone, because obviuslly i dont remember which email is attached to this device - but what about sending a notification to that email ?
will that be possible ?

Now, when I got to the point where I had to kill someone........I had to install Battlefield Vietnam.....I can't fly a Huey without my trusty joystick!...So I load up the software and set up the joystick (the game is awesome on a fresh OS install)...Everything is working great!!! Until, I couldn't get the computer to detect any other devices I tried to install..No luck with the force feedback wheel, printer or digi camera?? I switched the working joystick around to a few different USB ports, and it works fine in all of them?? I'm stumped? Also, I started a Teamspeak Server for a few friends and I(which I did all the time on the old rig), and now noboby can connect to it...I can start the server and connect, but everyone else gets an error message saying the server is not running?? I have my AV and Firewall set to ignore Teamspeak thinking that was it, but??....Man, this keeps getting tougher and tougher...Knock one problem down, two more pop up....If any more info is needed, just let me know....Help....Silly

Wonka, I tried as you said...I powered down, unplugged front side USB, restarted...Windows detected nothing...Then, I uninstalled all USB drivers and ALL USB listings deleted from the device manager as I did so...I then powered down and plugged front side USB back in...I powered up again and Windows detected several USB thingy's and installed the drivers....
Once this was done, one at a time, a new message appeared for all 6 USB ports..It read that the following devices are malfunctioning or drivers not found or some crap like that(I guess I should write more down, sorry..).... Then clicking on details, it listed all 6 USB ports, and read UNKNOWN DEVICE next to each one....I checked my device manager and it is the same as before...It lists 12 devices under Universal Serial Bus controllers...The first three are Standard whatever and are working properly and are enabled...The next six say Unknown Device...Then the last 3 Root Hubs are enabled and working properly...
On the six Unknown Devices it says they are enabled but no drivers are found...When I click on the drivers tab for any one of them it reads: Driver Version - 5.1.2600.0....Then under Digital Signer it reads: Microsoft Windows Publisher....Now I'm really stumped...HELP MEEEEEeeeeeee e e e e..........Silly

Aha! I see the problem but don't know how to fix it. Multiple IDs!

Over the years, my apple reliance has increased. I have two different email addresses in a bizarre combination on my iMAC, iPhone, and iPad. It prevents me from doing backups completely, getting the latest version of some apps, and using the cloud as it was meant to be.
IDs, next, are shortened to make this more readble.
My iMAC uses an itunes ID called TAR. This is where I have bought plenty of iTunes music, but always export to MP3 -- so if I have to trash this ID it'd be ok.
My iPad shows an iCloud ID of TNT, an iTunes store ID of TAR, and my appleID as TAR.
My iPhone shows an iCloud ID of TNT, and an apple ID of TAR. I have purchased some apps and I fear not using TAR on it may nulify all of those purchases.
Should I simply DELETE my iPhone and IPad iCloud accounts and then create new ones on those devices with ID of TAR?
Please advise! What do I need to set where so that I have one and only one email address for everything.
If this is NOT the cure to my problems, what else can I check? (Eg. when I do a backup in iTunes on my iMac it says that my iPhone and iPad are not recognized... yet it proceeds with a backup MOSTLY. Authorizing/reauthorizing it from the iMac seems to make no difference.
The password guesses and resets over the years have been insane, as you might have gathered.

yeah, remove the icloud accounts, and choose to keep the data on the device when you do so. then, when you sign in with the other id, it'll ask if you want to merge, and you will. then all your information will be in one id
