2.1 and Unknown error 13213

After upgrading my iPhone to 2.1 I started getting Unknown error 13213 messages. I found this thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1701609&tstart=0 for the iPod and it seems to have fixed my iPhone.
1. Power off iPhone and shut down iTunes 8.
2. Start up iTunes.
3. Leave iPhone off and plug in.
Phone will power up and sync normaly.

The workaround fixed the issue for me but if I have had to restart my iphone due to other 2.1 issues, the syncing problems comes back.
I am thinking of trying to figure out if I can downgrade back to 2.0.2.
Any thoughts?

  • We could not complete your iTunes store request! And unknown error occurred! (12002)

    Hello everybody!
I finally installed Mac OS X Lion on my MacBook Pro yesterday and I bought it from Mac's App Store! However I went to iTunes stroe using my Lion Operating System and I downloaded the new Cut the Rope: Experiments and my account was working fine in the beginning of the day! Then I realised that I wanna changed my accounts e-mail adress and this is not my main e-mail adress! So I changed it and after that I am not able to sign in to iTunes Store from my Mac OR FaceTime! BTW FaceTime was working fine as well! I tried creating new Apple ID's but even they didn't work for me! I received the error "We could not complete your iTunes store request! And unknown error occurred! (12002)"!
I tried signing in with my friends MacBook Pro with a different IP and he we received the same error again! I can sign in to apple.com through Safari and I can sign in with my iPod Touch! What should I do ??! Any soloutions ?!?!
    Peace

Got it. I realized that I am logged in under my old log-in name (email) on my iPad. After I signed out and logged in back under my new log-in name (email) on iPad, it went through on my Mac as well. Check if you are not logged in to iTunes under the old ID on another device.

I have an iphone 4s and was restoring it from a back up and now all i get is and unknown error occurred (29) halfway through the restore. Any ideas on what I can do?

Your error is connect to hardware, try these steps to solve it:
    Related errors: 1, 3, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer might have a hardware issue that stops the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't blocking your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Make sure that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

The iTunes library file cannot be saved.  and unknown error occurred (-54)
    Help!!  What does this mean?

    Hi Mr.Jones,
I started with the questions marks because I did not understand what you were asking.
I had the impression that yo wanted to make a backup of the Library.
The Library is "saved" in it's standard folder when you change something. Restarting iTunes, or even restarting the Macbook normally solves problems.

  • Zen V not recognized and unknown error transf

    Hello,
This is my third Zen during the past two years, and none of them seem to work for at least one week. I bought a Zen V 4GB and have had it for two days and it is already not functioning correctly. I noticed that my songs would be transferred, but everytime I tried to transfer pictures, they just wouldn't. The reason it would give was "unknown error". I decided to download every update I could find for the Zen V (firmware, media source, etc), but the updates wouldn't finish installing correctly (the Zen would freeze after reboot, etc). I had to format the Zen and then install everything all over again, after that, the updates managed to install correctly. Afterwards, I successfully transferred pictures. I turned off the Zen, and when I later tried to transfer music, the unknown error message would appear again, and also other error messages such as "insufficient disk space", which was impossible because I had only transferred 68 pictures. I formated the Zen V once again, and gave it a "reload firmware". I managed to transfer some pictures and music afterwards, but, as soon as I disconnected the player, and connected it again to transfer more stuff, the error messages appeared again. As my patience was wearing thinner by the second, I disconnected the player, and connected it again. Now, the computer doesn't recognize it at all. The Zen V appears to be docked, though it sometimes appear as if it were charging and sometimes it doesn't, but still the computer doesn't recognize it. It says that the player isn't connected. I did notice that on my taskbar, the icon of "Safely Remove Hardware" began to appear. I double clicked it, thinking that the computer was recognizing the?player as a mass storage device, but there were no devices or components displayed on the window.
I really don't know what to do anymore, and I'm tired of having to format it, just so that it'll work correctly once. I don't know if I'm not doing something right, or whatever it is. I just feel very dissapointed. These problems were very similar to?the ones my other Zens (I had?a Zen Micro and Zen MicroPhoto before). Creative just keeps coming up with great innovati've products, but the same problems appear in?every one of them, what's up with that?I really need help with this... Any suggestions? Thank you.

I am having the same problems!
!!! Now my Zen will not turn on. How is a 2 child supposed to use this if her mom can't? I am not the only one experiences problems, my daughters friend also got one and her dad took it back to the store 2 times before he got one that actually worked. I have called customer service and after spending over an hour on the long distance phone call they were unable to help me and I eventually figured it out myself only to have it tell me the device was not connected IN THE MIDDLE OF DOWNLOADING!!

  • Can't Restore Gen 1 iPod Touch - Serial Number n/a and Unknown Error 1

I had just bought a Gen 1 iPod Touch off of eBay. It is said to be fully functional and was restored to factory settings. It also appears to be in great shape (just as it was claimed to be). When I plugged it to my PC and it said, "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes". However, every time I click "Restore iPod" it reads, "The iPod 'iPod' could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1)". So, I am not sure how to fix this problem and I need help.
I had tried all three iPod cables/cords I have just to see if there was a problem with the one that the iPod Touch came with, but I got the same results. >_<

It may be toast since te problems started after dropping it. BTW, iOS 2.2.1 is the latest free update for the 1G. The 1G can be updated to iOS 3.1 but you have to pay for that update. Have you tried the guidance here:

  • 100% CPU Usage, Sound configuration Error and Unknown Error (0xE8000001)

Hi, I just bought a iPod Touch - amazing iPod I must say.
Pluged it in to my Windows Xp to sync some music. (I've been using iTunes for several years now and just upgraded from a 1st generation iPod nano to a 16 Gb touch).
It connected very well and I was ready to sync but then I made a stupid mistake - I updated iTunes to be sure that every thing was up to date.
After the update I get an error about my sound configuration (I've tried uninstalling QuickTime and installing again - didn't work). iTunes open up and starts to sync and now a second issue apears. It uses all of my CPU - flatlinig at 100%, so I cannot use my computer at all. It is now syncing but extremely slow - one song takes about a minute. Now the iPod touch starts to say these weird sounds and rebooting every 20 seconds or so. Finally I get an eroor in iTunes saying that there has been an unknown error (0xE8000001).
So I'm stuck with iTunes not working and no songs on my iPod.. :o(

  • IPod freezing and unknown error 9?

Hi. This is my first time using the forums so please be patient with me.
I have an iPod Touch 2nd generation 8 GB. Last night, the battery died because I had not charged it for several days. When I plugged it into my computer using the USB port today, the iPod started charging, but then it froze. No buttons were working. I finally managed to restart it by holding the home button + sleep button but the iPod would go to the startup screen with just the apple icon and freeze again. I would restart it again, and it would freeze again. I finally managed to put it in recovery mode and tried resetting the iPod to factory conditions, but I would get a message that says, "iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9)." I've tried switching the USB port which some people have recommended, but it didn't fix the problem. So now I'm out of options.
Some more information that may be useful:
    1. I'm running Windows 7 x64 on my computer. I think the iOS is 4.1 or 4.2 (not sure).
    2. My iPod has run out of batteries before but this is the first time encountering this problem.
    3. My computer did not have iTunes when I charged it. This is a new computer and I didn't download iTunes yet. But I have previously charged my iPod with this computer. Only when I tried resetting the iPod did I install iTunes.
    4. When I mean freeze, I mean it would stay in the same screen for hours. The brightness of the screen wouldn't even fade.
I appreciate your support. Feel free to ask me if I need to clarify anything.
    Thanks!

Here's what I have found about error 9:
Error 9: This error occurs when the device unexpectedly drops off the USB bus and communication stops. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB isolation troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.
You should remove all Apple related software and install iTunes again, to be able to restore your device.

  • Insufficient memory and "unknown error 961"

Periodically, I receive an insufficient memory error when I try to update an app. It happens about every other time and eventually fixes itself -- that is, does download the update.
Today I received an additional error "unknown error occurred during download '961.'"
I've removed all pictures and downloaded files. I've cleared the cache.
Both the device (internal) and SD storage have numerous gigs of free space.
The device also runs very slowly.
Any suggestions? Any advice is appreciated.
    Thanks!

Method 1: Clearing the cache and data
    1) To do this, go into your phone’s settings, then Applications (or Apps or Application Manager), swipe to the left to ”All” and scroll down until you find Google Play, tap on it.
    2) In the app information page, tap on the button to empty the cache.
    3) If this doesn’t solve the problem, try to delete the data from the Play Store

  • Any help for my problem with iTunes 11.2.1 update and "unknown error (-54)"

After downloading iTunes 11.2.1 update I can't get into iTunes Store and keep getting an error message "unknown error (-54)".  What does this mean?  How do I correct it?  No sense in having iTunes if I can't get into the store or my account.
    Thank you for any help.

Why is this Itunes such a pile of junk?  If I restart my computer I can sometimes find the recently added music in my Itunes Library.
It would be nice to know if other people are having the same problems.

  • Html snippets and unknown error when publishing - the mystery deepens

Can anyone make sense of this?
I have been using iWeb for a year or so. Personal site with added extra goodies like widgets using iweb more.
Upgraded to iWeb 08 with a few formatting problems (which I chose to ignore for now) - after version 2.01 I replaced my iweb more extras with the new html snippet thingy and everything was fine - although I still didn't get around to sorting the formatting issues.
    Now we are at 2.02 I decided to use one of the new themes and so I created a new page using golden rod and merrily cut and paste from the existing page. I was loathe to delete the old page until I knew the new one was fine - my plan was then to do a bit of page renaming and voila a newly themed home page. Anyway what I got was;
Unknown error - when the new page was being created.
Ok - deleted the offending page - site now publishes fine -so we know this isn't .mac.
Now I decided to build the new page a bit at a time to see what was causing the problem.
    It turns out to be a html snippet (which works fine on my home page still);
    div style="text-align:center"
    a href="http://outcampaign.org/"
    img border="0" alt="image" width="143" src="http://pharyngula.org/images/scarlet_A.png" height="122"/
    /a
(I have broken the tags by removing the 's so you can see the text itself)
When I added this to an HTML snippet the unknown error returned.
Now I have deleted it and I still get the unknown error for that page.
So this is definitely an iWeb problem and not a .mac problem.
    Any ideas?
    Home page;
    http://web.mac.com/theedonfamily/Site/Home.html

why do you use the snippet to actually add the thing? you can just place the image directly into iweb and then activate it as a link. (there are some errors in the script as well!)
if you want to use the snippet way, then id just change the code a bit:
    +⊗p style="text-align: center;"⊗+
    +⊗a href="http://outcampaign.org/"⊗+
    +⊗img style="border: none;" alt="Image" width="143" src="http://pharyngula.org/images/scarlet_A.png" height="122" /⊗+
    ⊗/a⊗
    ⊗/p⊗
replace every ⊗ with either < or >.
