2.1 Firmware Update Crashes ALL Apps

After updating my iPhone to 2.1, things appeared fine, until I tried to show off my iPhone to a friend, and every app would crash immediately after trying to open it! (Embarrassing, right?) I've read that I must restore my iPhone. What a pain!
It made a backup before I updated to 2.1, so I hope all my data will come back with the restore, or I'll be very disappointed.

I found the answer just after posted this. Thanks to a user named CloudWalker. Solution is to go in AppStore, View Account under "Store" Menu and unhide any purchases.

App Store shows 9 updates but all Apps are up to date I have tried re downloading all the updates. All Apps show the correct version number post update.

I have the same issue with one App in the App Store. The app is installed and current. But the App Store says I have an update. I tried restarting. No help.

Printing since updates causes all apps to crash

Since the last round of updates from Apple, including the EFi firmware update, I am unable to print at all.
I have two printers, neither of which will print, I dont even get the print box come up before the applications "Unexpectedly quit".
I am using an Epson R1800 printer and a HP Laserjet 1018, the latter of which I know doesn't work with OSX natively but using a 3rd party driver always has.
I have tried running the Disk Utility to repair permissions, and also run the reset printer option, followed by a reboot and then added the printers again. Still no joy. I have also tried these steps but only added one printer at a time and still the apps crash.
Has anyone got any ideas?

Itunes crashes after updating apps - auto update of all apps doesn't work

i just upgraded to the new itunes 9.0.3 for WinXP and still have the same two problems. iphone is also on OS 3.1.3
1.) when there are more iphone apps to update i try to use the update all button, but i nearly never work - everytime an error message pops up (something like unexpected error try again later) and i need to update all the apps manually
2.) after manual update i switch to the iphone tab of itunes. when i now change to the programs app, itunes either freezes or crahses instantly.
when i load it up again i have some ghosts in my programs folder in itunes - all the apps that were updated have a second, grey icon. i need to delete all of them manually.
this is happening in 90% of all app-update procedures - what's the problem here?

Well, b noir, some folks have to use that "workround" as standard operating procedure.
If it persists, Darth, I suggest you contact Apple about it....the more folks who bring this to their attention, the more likely something will be done about it.

I don't have much advice about the crashing/freezing when you go to the apps tab of the iphone, other than not to sync when you're in a hurry.
This has also been reported. Several folks said if they left it alone (for what seemed like hours) the tab finally displayed. Seems itunes is having problems drawing all the apps icons, since there is no list view for the iphone. That problem has also been seen when a lot of movies were getting synced and going to the iphone's movies tab - it takes itunes forever to draw the first frame of the movie.
It was also seen in v7 when the apps windows (on the PC, not the iphone) only had the grid view. A later release made it so apps could be shown in list and cover flow.

Crashing all app on 3.1.2.

I have a problem for a few days. After updating to 3.1.2. when it came out everything worked just fine, but few days ago it started randomly crashing, restarting and showing "slide to power off"... 1st i restarted it and nothing happened than I tried to make a hard-reset and again it didn't solve the problem... As i wasn't at home I couldn't restore it... Than when i finally connected it to my Mac and sync it, everything worked again just fine, but for like 2-3 hours. So, yesterday I finally restored it, and thought that its going to be OK. But, in the morning (6-7 hours) after restore the same thing again... All app's are working normally, then iPhone restarts itself (which takes more than it usually does) and only Apple app's are working and others (Facebook, About Battery, Skype etc.) just flash for like second or two and crashes back to home screen, it seems that I managed to solve "slide to power off" problem, but not the other ones.
So, please help me out if anyone knows about a same problem and maybe a solution!
P.S. It's a completely legal iPhone bought at T-Mobile Store in Zagreb, Croatia.

Did you try to restore "as new iphone" instead of using your backup? There might be corrupt data copied back to the phone from that backup. Make sure to transfer your purchases before you restore.

Apple RAID Card Firmware Update crashes

Early 2008 Mac Pro 2.8GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon
I'm trying to install Apple's RAID Card Firmware update on my 2008 Mac Pro (which yes, has a RAID card) and every time the update utility launches it immediately crashes because it couldn't load the CoreRAID framework:

I've tried reinstalling the CoreRAID framework directly from the Mavericks install image with no luck. The same thing was happening with 10.8 and I was hoping 10.9 would fix it.
I did a lot of Googling and someone in a somewhat related issue suggested running "lipo -info" on the library. If that's helpful to anyone here's the output:
lipo -info CoreRAID
Non-fat file: CoreRAID is architecture: x86_64
but from that it looks like it should have no problem being run on my Intel Mac Pro.

Well, I went ahead and opened a support ticket on this.
Tech on the phone was not immediately able to come up with a solution, and has escalated it to engineering.
I am willing to bet that the RAID Card firmware update doesn't "know" about MP11.005D.B00 -- and will only install with MP11.005C.B08.
The question is this: What is the difference between MP11.005D.B00 and MP11.005C.B08 -- and does this impact the Hardware RAID in any way?

HELP! Frozen mac due to firmware update crash. How do i restart it?

I have had my Tiger 10.4.7 Mac for 4 months, no problems, but when computer done a firmware update, it got part way through and I lost power to computer. Now when I try to turn on all that happens is a black screen with the white power dot on constant. I tried to install the OS X install disc but I cant get that out now as none of the keyboard buttons seem to work. I tried the support phone line, but they just told me to download a firmware patch. I lookedon the site but have no idea which one they suggest to try, and how would I get it to recognise it anyway? Any ideas please?

There is a download for restoring original firmware on the Apple download page, for each computer.
You need to download it, burn it to a CD and follow the instructions.
And never do a firmware upgrade on any computer unless it is on a UPS. Sometimes it is not recoverable and requires factory service to repair.
But I suspect that the restore firmware CD will work for you.

App Store showing updates but all apps up to date

App Store icon on iPad is showing there is 1 update, but when App Store is launched all apps are up to date (there are no updates to be applied).
iPad has been sync'ed with iTunes and everything is up to date.
iPad has been restarted after updating to iOS 8.1.1.
App Store continues to display "1" in update badge.
What to do now?

ATtempt to power off your device and power it back on, if that doesn't work reset all settings should resolve it for you

Actually, there is no update to Angry Birds Rio and the developer does not know when or if they will get to it.

IOS4.1 crashes all apps 3rd gen touch

Basically my 3rd generation touch crashes when I quit applications. Namely the applications made by apple: settings, game center, music, app store....etc. They open fine, but crash my ipod when I close them. This has been going on since iOS 4 update and was hoping 4.1 would have fixed it. But it didn't. Anybody have a clue because this is getting real old real quick. Thanks.

I have a similar problem and have seen various versions on this forum. Mine is 2G ipod touch and I've just recently upgraded from OS2.2 (original, not jailbroken ever) to OS4.1. It worked fine (other than the battery seemed to drain a little faster) until today. I turned it off before my plane took off and when I started it up again later all third-party apps immediately crash upon starting up. I've tried rebooting several times to no vail.

ITunes 10.7 crashes all apps on Mountain Lion including Force Quit. First system wide prob with an apple computer since OSX introduced. Any ideas?

updated to iTunes 10.7 from app Store last night. After the update, iTunes opens then stalls with the "spinning pizza wheel". Force Quit is unresponsive and will not shut it down. If I then open other applications say Safari for example, the problem migrates over to Safari and it similarly stalls and becomes unresponsive. The only way to solve the problem is to manually shut the computer down. This is the most significant problem I have experienced on an apple computer since OSX was introduced because it impacts on Force Quit which means that you have to shut the whole deal down. There are obvious problems for use of Apple TV and apple store etc. ! I am running mountain lion 10.8.1 on a 27" iMac with 2T Time Capsule connected wirelessly. How do I downgrade iTunes back to 10.6? I had no problems with Mountain Lion or iTunes up to that point.

this is the exact same problem i've been dealing with for the past 2 days. after i installed itunes 10.7 for my iphone5 it would crash my mbp's lion system wide. i tried every solution i could find on google and i've actually had to reinstall lion & time machine my backups because of it. right now i'm too scared to redownload itunes 10.7. i actually feel like waiting for the "new itunes" that comes out in october.

"More Profiles..." crashes all apps that try it

When I try to print from iPhoto or even Firefox to a new Canon printer, and I choose "Color Options" / "Colorsync" / "More Profiles...", the app crashes. I don't even know how to begin fixing something like this. Disk Utility "Repair Permissions" didn't help. I opened ColorSync utility and had it check all the print profiles and they're all fine (says ColorSync, anyway).
What do I try next?
N.B.: I have to be able to do this because I need to select the "Generic RGB Profile" in order to print test charts for use with my ColorMunki photometer. It's the only way to turn off all color management in the Pixma 9500 Mark II printer driver. This particular driver has no "Off" or "None" setting available for color management - trust me on this.

For future Googlers, this was a cache/preferences problem. I moved "~/Library/Preferences/ColorSync Cache" and "com.apple.ColorSync.plist" out of the way and the problem disappeared.

I just purchased the IPad 2 and now when I purchase apps from the App store it says waiting and then dissapears. I have checked for updates and all apps are undated as well as my ios 5. I have turned off the power and reset the system and still nothing.
