2.1 software Restore and app install issues

I'm pretty sure a lot of people have had this problem, but when I was installing 2.1 software I had an unknown error and my ipod was frozen on the logo screen, so I unplugged it after like 20 minutes, and of course... it was all wiped out, so I am restoring it which makes me pretty mad.
Also - Ever since the app store came out I can NOT install apps directly on my iPod...
Every time I go to the app store on my ipod and download an app, it downloads, and installs, but then gives me the error message where I have to go to itunes and download it from there, and then sync my ipod again. It's really annoying and hasn't been fixed (well I'm not sure what the 2.1 update will do).
But yeah, that's about it.

I had similar problems. I updated to iTunes 8 and iPOD 2.1. I turned on the Genius feature. I also got message that iPod would not sync with unknown error 13213 I think. I restored iPOD and then reloaded (took hrs) only for same error. When this error occurred iPod thought it was still syncing over and over again. I turned off genius feature and eureka no more problems.
Other than having a few applications like the white-page (which says not compatible with this iPod everything else works fine.
Clearly Apple have a bug in the software, I hope there is enough others like us to get it fixed.

10.9.4 installed, now Software Update and App Store won't open

I installed the 10.9.4 update and now Software Update and the App Store won't open. I don't know what other information might be relevant here.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

Updating iPod Touch Software Version and Apps saved game data

When I transfer my apps from iPod touch to iTunes will it also moved the saved game data like in Zombie Cafe, Amateur Surgeon 2 so on and so fort? Because I want to update my software version...

No. Transferring the app to the computer only transfers the app itself. not app data. App dat is stored in the iPod backup that iTunes makes as the first step of the a sync and of an update. Therefore, I would do one last sync of the iPod before restoring and ensure that the backup gets made. You can check by going to the Devices tab in iTunes' Preferences and looking at the date of the backup. Also, make sure your apps are in your iTunes library since the apps themselves are not in the backup but are synced to the iPod at the end of the update.

G4 quicksilver 800 - do software restore disks re-install os9 only

I've got a g4 800 quicksilver machine. I want to do an disk erase and re-install of just OS9 without the 10.1.3 system that my machine shipped with. I've got a set of restore cds and a single 10.1.3 installer disk, but no single install disk for 9.2.2. ( I may have lost it, but I don't think it came in the box..)
Does anyone know if the software restore disks only re-install OS9 and not OSX ?

CC Menu bar panel and app status issues

After my iMac 27" late 2009 had to be force restarted after an unrelated crash the Adobe CC app shows that none of my apps are installed, even though I have Photoshop, Illustrator, Muse Lightroom and Indesign installed and running correctly. Lathough it doesn't seem to be effecting use of my apps I would like to see CC to display correct information as I might miss out on updates etc.
Also, I'm using multiple 'spaces' on my Mac to quickly swipe between various full screen apps. However, every time I swipe to another space the Adobe CC menue panel pops up. A quick click makes it disappear again but it becomes quite annoying after a short while.
Has anybody got any solutions to these problems?

Try to uninstall CC desktop app from Applications > Adobe Creative Cloud folder and then re-install CC desktop app from the CC wensite. https://creative.adobe.com/products

App Install Issue?

Hi all,
I have an iPad 1, OS version 4.3.2
I'm having an issue installing an app. Hopefully someone might have a solution, as there appears to be quite a few folks with similar issues (though not quite the same context and the solutions I've found don't apply or work).
Some background...
1. I bought an app from the AppStore using the iPad.
2. The app installation got stuck at the "Loading..." stage with zero progress (for three hours while I was out).
3. I went back into the AppStore app and it was displaying the green "Install" button for my purchased app.
4. I selected the green "Install" button, and a message was subsequently displayed saying something like "You've bought the app but it hasn't downloaded. If you're having trouble downloading then try downloading in iTunes and synching".
5. I followed this advice, and downloaded the app in iTunes via the "check for downloads" menu option.
6. The app downloaded into iTunes.
7. I synched the app across to the iPad and iTunes installed it.
And now the problem...
8. The iPad doesn't display the installed application, it only displays a "Loading..." icon for the app still.
9. The AppStore app on the iPad is telling me the app is installed as is iTunes on my PC.
10. The "Loading..." icon now is progressing, but it is actually downloading the app AGAIN from the app store (according to my router log).
11. Unfortunately I don't want to download the app for a second time since it is a 1.2GB application full of maps and graphics (and I have less than 1GB left on my ISP cap for this month).
So, some questions...
1. How can I cancel the app "Loading..."?
- I have tried jiggly-mode but no "X" comes up for this icon., just a "Loading..." and an ever expanding blue progress bar indicating that my ISP cap is being chewed up unecessarily.
- I have tried un-installing / re-installing from iTunes but that makes no difference either - the "Loading..." icon persists.
- I can't pause the "Loading..." as the single-tap over the icon (which normally pauses it) doesn't pause it.
- Turning the iPad off and on again doesn't rectify the issue either.
Basically it seems like the iPad won't be happy until it's downloaded the app all by its lonesome, even though iTunes has installed it on the iPad. The only way I've been able to avoid running out of GB cap is by disconnecting it from my wifi network which is not ideal.
2. How can I get the iTunes install process (i.e. via synch) to put an icon for the app on the iPad?
Any thoughts/comments or pearls of wisdom much appreciated...

not sure how much help i can be, but i was having similiar issues. what i figured out was, it happened with large apps (a game i was downloading). once it froze, anything i attempted to download after that just simply got queued and wouldn't download. i believe the reason was because i had a weak wireless signal (verified through speedtest.net). i was getting 0.85mps (my computer was getting 25mps, a huge difference). i then checked to make sure it wasn't the ipad, and found that it was my wireless settings. i unplugged my wireless router and plugged it back in. i then went to the settings (i have a linksys) and changed the following settings:
go to the Applications and Gaming Tab.
go to the far right under that and click the QoS Tab.
make sure WMM support is disabled (mine was enabled).
save. now test your speed.

JRE 1.4.2_04 install and un-install issues

I was having problems running a Java app and I decided to un-install and re-install my JRE. I am running Windows XP Pro SP1 and IE6 SP1 as well. I went to "Add remove programs" and I noticed I had both of the following:
Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition 1.4.2_03
Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition 1.4.2_04
I uninstalled revision 3 ok, but unistalling revision 4 gives me this error:
"Failed to extract file 'Dll_ini' from binary table"
I get the same exact error trying to re-install Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition 1.4.2_04
I'm stuck here... can anyone lend a hand?

So... 14 hours later...
I found a mirror site that had JRE 1.4.2_03 and I downloaded and installed it and I was able to run the apps, but I still could not un-install revision _04
I did these 5 things and was able to get JRE 1.4.2_04 installed. Actaully, once the Sun license acceptance page came up on install I canceled it because the errors Iwas getting previously happened prior to the License page, so I knew it work. I un-installed revision _03 and then installed revision _04 with the hopes of squelching further errors.
1. Check and make sure msiexec.exe is not in memory. If it is, and no setup is running at the time, end that task and restart the system. Alternatively, try START, RUN, type "msiexec /unregister", OK and then START, RUN, type "msiexec /regserver", OK
2. Clean out the Temp directory. C:\Documents and Settings\<USER NAME HERE>\Local Settings\Temp
3. Delete the C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Driver folder and then rerun the setup.
4. The other potential cause is a missing Stdole.tlb, stdole32.tlb, or stdole2.tlb file. These are core Windows files and should exist on your machine.
5. I ran SFC.EXE, I did have core WinXP Pro files missing. See MS Knowledge Base article Q310747 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;310747

Which AIR app are you trying to install? Can you please post your install log? It is located here:
Vista/Win7- XP- C:\Users\user name\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\AIR\logs
(must "show hidden files and folders" in View settings on your OS to see certain folders)
Also, by any chance did you turn off the User Account Control (UAC) operating system feature? If so, please turn it back on. To do so, from Control Panel, Open UAC and enable/turn on. A reboot maybe required. Retry installation again.

Download software once and then install it on two computers?

I just registered for a Creative Cloud membership. I want to install software on two computers. The internet connection on one location is extremely slow. Could I download everything on one computer and then install it on both from a portable medium.

I did try using the original downloaded files that were downloaden with the Application Manager. But when I tried to install it on the other machine, I got the message that the software was counterfeit.

Boot and OS install issues with K8T Neo2 F

Can anybody shed light on my difficulties?
Assembled a new computer yesterday. First power-on produced nothing except 3 (2,3,4) red leds on d-bracket. After reading several postings, tried the following:
Swapped around memory modules;
Did repeated JBAT1 data clears (NB if you happen to get a board with the V1.0 user guide, note that the JBAT1 diagram appears upside down - pin one is closest to the SATA slots (page 2 - 24). The MSI downloadable user guide (V1.2) has that error corrected (page 2-25)
The only memory config that doesn’t produce three red leds is with one 512 stick installed in channel 3 (green).
Can now get to the point where Windows XP boots to the point where install is about to start, and then advises me that it can’t find a hard disk!
Have dis/reconnected the sata cable (using different cables) and checked the bios setup but can find nothing strange except that setup refers to the hard disk as BBS 0 (RAID) ST3120827AS - the reference to “RAID” worries me.

Paul, there have been people here that have had to strip their system down to the bare minimum hardware to get windows to complete the install, so try that. I had trouble completing my windows install as long as I was trying to install the RAID drivers at F6. So I ignored the prompt at F6 and windows installed fine. Then I installed my RAID drivers afterward.
These things are extremely sensitive when it comes to memory. I had the same problem you are having. Mine was cured by a BIOS upgrade to ver. 3.3. The simplest way to do it is to use "Live Watch". It will locate BIOS ver 3.3 for you, and download it to a floppy along with the flash program, and make it bootable all in one easy step. Then all you have to do is boot from the floppy you just made, and follow the instructions. Very simple.
I've read all these stickies and posts now going way back, and IMHO anyone who wants to use RAM thats not on the list should do so at their own risk. Interestingly enough, the recommended list from MSI is not the same as the list from AMD. And the memory manufacturers have their own lists of RAM that they say will work with this board. I'm using 2x 512 sticks of GEIL from the MSI recommended list.
Check out these links to see what I mean. By the way, if you haven't noticed, most of the older posts about memory problems are with respect to the K8T Neo FIS2R which is a socket 754 single channel board, so although they are similar, they're not the same. My point is just because his K8TNeo FIS2R works fine with brand "X" RAM doesn't mean your K8T NEO2 FIR will.

OEI Install and Re-install issue

Hi all,
I have a user that has uninstalled and re-installed OEI, and now he is getting a runtime error
Runtime error '5';
Invalid Procedure call or Argument
Looking at his screenshot, it looks like it is when he is trying to sign-in to CRM OD.
Appreciate your help and expertise.

I had that happen to one of my users. The cause was firewall (Cisco Security Agent) settings on the user’s machine blocking Outlook/OEI access to CRM On Demand.
Resolution: Log into user’s machine as an administrator and clear all of the user’s firewall settings that are blocking the connection. In the Cisco Security Agent firewall, under Untrusted Applications, clear the log by highlighting all entries and clicking the Delete key. This will require the user to respond to the firewall the next time he/she uses Outlook Email Integration (OEI).
