2.2.1 problems - can anyone help please?
I downloaded this new update last night and now I cannot sync music with my 2ng gen ipod touch. If I download a game from IT store I can sync this but it does not recognise any changes to my music folders etc. I have tried restoring ipod touch to factory setting (as suggested in previous topics) but when I sync it it is only recognising games and photos - I now have no music on ipod!! Can anyone help please!!??
Have tried:
1. iTunes restore repeatedly - it never finishes and I get error 1604
2. Tried alternative usb ports
3. Tried alternative pcs - both xp and vista
4. Uninstalled itunes, cleared registry, rebooted and reinstalled itunes
Still no change. If I went into Apple and booked a Genius appointment could I pay £140 for a new phone?

I've just started using an N71 that I bought second-hand. It's fine except that every now and then a question pops up on screen:
"Allow sim card to send message?"
It never says what's in the message or where it wants to send it! Can anyone please advise where this is coming from, if it's important, and how I can stop it?
Thanks.You generally get this the first time you put your SIM card in... I believe it sends an SMS to request network settings, such as GPRS and MMS, from your network. There's no way of telling exactly what SMS it sent - just click 'yes'.

3G problems can anyone help please?
I did the latest software update as itunes recommended, however at the end of the update it gave me error 1604. I tried to carry out a restore as well, but the same thing happened it says cannot restore. Another problem is, that when the phone is turned off, or the battery runs flat the phone does not turn on, instead all I get is the sync with itunes screen.
Can anyone tell me what to do? I have tried using a different PC, tried restoring from my old files but it will not work. Thanks to any advice....Have tried:

Screen problems can anyone help please?
I have a problem with the screen suddenly slipping off and content on it not being accessible, this happens when playing games and is particularly annoying as I cannot continue the game. Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean when you say the screen suddenly slips off and content on it is not accessible?
Can you post a picture showing what happens?
Are you still able to see the mouse cursor and move it after the issue occurs?
Does the issue only occur with a particular game? What is the game? Does the game have any updates available?
Which version of OS X are you running? Your profile lists 10.6, but I suspect you may have a later version.
My first recommendation is to check for software updates and install all available updates. The software updates contain fixes for many common issues. If you're not running the latest version that could be your solution. -

My ipad 3 is 7 month old and I have the following problems can anyone help please?
1) it doesn't always fully charge
2) sometimes closes page/app I am on without me touching middle button
3) sometimes goes dim then I have to lock and unlock screen to fix
4) freezes and fuzzy on FaceTimeDo a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)

I do not store any photographs on my computer they are all on an external hard drive, the only image on the computer are the ones I am working with. Firefox frequently 'not responding' having auto-installed version 10 yesterday. No previous problems. Have disabled all plugins and uninstalled and then re-installed Firefox several times today. Problem persists making continued use of this browser very unlikely unless a quick solution is found! Can anyone help please?

I have a Bose soundtouch system .Until today I could play my iTunes music through it via air player . .I have just uploaded the latest upgrade from iTunes and now I am unable to connect to the Bose system . Can anyone help please? I can connect via my iPad and by using the Bose app so it is not the Bose at fault
@puebloryan, I realize this thread is a bit old, but I have encountered a similr problem and wondered if you had found a solution. I've been using home sharing from itines on my PCs for years, but two days ago, it suddenly stopped. I can share from my Macs, but not from the ONE PC library where I keep all my tunes. I tried all the usual trouble-shooting measures.
After turning home sharing off on the PC's iTunes, turning it back on and turning some other settings off and on, my Macs and Apple TV could briefly "see" the PC library, but as soon as I try to connect -- the wheel spins for a bit and then the connection vanishes. It's as if they try and then give up.
Since this sounds so similar to your problem, I was hoping you finally found a solution. I am also starting a new thread. Thanks! -

Thankyou- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

My IPhone 5, was backed up and restored. Music doesn't sync, when reconnecting device each time, it only offers restore or new phone rather than sync option. I have reinstalled ITunes but still this hasn't worked. Can anyone help please?
This problem started last year when ios 8 was released. I think apple is trying to force users to buy music on iTunes store and that's why it's impossible to sync other music and also that's the reason why they haven't solved this serious problem. That's really disappoints me and i'm angry with apple because i have like 10 gb of music in mp3 and i can't sync music from iTunes to my iPhone.

When I try and download an app, I get a message "MZCommerce.CreditBalanceMismatch.Mobile_message". This is even for free apps, and I do have plenty of credit. Can anyone help please?
With a standard account you need a valid payment method even for free apps.
From the message it sound like there is something wrong with your account or some of the information you entered in the account is not correct.. Verify that the information is correct and then if still problem contact iTunes.

My iMac goes to disc utilities on startup, repair disk doesn't cure it and I can't reinstall Mountain Lion because I don't remember my ID and password at the time I bought the software the system isn't accepting my current details and Apple isn't recognising the answers to my security questions. They don't even seem to have my correc date of birth so I can't progress the reinstallation. I'm currently abroad and have my iMac with me but with no way of contacting Apple that I can find, I'm at a loss and very reluctant to pay £35 to try and get my ID and pasword sorted out given that their system recognises my current details. can anyone help please?
AGwhen they gifted me the mountain Lion software several years ago.
Mountain Lion was introduced in July 2012. Did the people who gifted you possibly use their Apple ID for the purchase of your OS? If you used your own Apple ID, you should have simply used the one you use for all things app store. The problem with any purchase at the app store is: whatever Apple ID was used to purchase, it willl stay tied to that Apple ID forever. And, purchases from the app store are not transferable.
So, you can check with the person(s) who gifted you or spend $20 to buy it - or, if your hardware is compatible with the new OS Mavericks, you could download it and associate it with your Apple ID.
FWIW, according to the licensing agreement, the OS remains the property of Apple and you are only granted a license to run it.
