You'll certainly need a new logic board.
If I were you, I would take the machine into your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them evaluate the problems and give you an estimate for repair. If you're out of warranty, be prepared to pay a very high price to get your computer repaired.

  • HT4060 my ipad has been charging for days and not taking the charge what else can be wrong.?

i have an apple i pad 16 gb...i have it charging for days and its not taking the charge what else can i try...

Could be the charger, cable or the iPad.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.
Or - Recalibrate the battery. See link below.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Verizon iPhone 4S SIM UNLOCK Tutorial
    SGMD1 Oct 19, 2011 9:40 PM
    Currently Being Moderated
Verizon has confirmed (here and here) they WILL unlock the SIM on the iPhone 4S, allowing for use of local SIM cards while traveling abroad (no word yet on whether this will allow for use on AT&T and T-Mobile.) This is different than the jailbreak unlocking method; SIM unlocking through Verizon is permanent and will not affect your warranty in any way.
    1. Meet the following requirements:
    * Must be a Verizon Wireless customer.
    * The iPhone 4S being unlocked must be active on a Verizon Wireless line of service.
    * The line of service must be active at least 60 days.
    * The line of service must be in good standing for the past 60 days.
    * Only one SIM Unlock per line every 10 months.
If you don't meet one or more of the above requirements, call anyway. You may still get lucky.
    2. Insert a foreign SIM into the SIM card slot on the side of your phone (only required to confirm that the unlock is successful.)
    3. Call 1-800-711-8300 (Verizon Global Support) and ask the representative for a SIM unlock. Occassionally a representative may not know exactly what you are referring to; make sure you are not transferred to a different department. You are in the right place. Explain that they should have a walkthrough on how to do this, and that it allows for the use of local, non-Verizon SIM cards while traveling abroad.
    4. Get confirmation from the rep that the unlock has been applied to your account, then check your phone to make sure it recognizes your SIM and can connect (if successful it will roam on AT&T, assuming you are calling from the USA.) You will NOT see an unlock confirmation in iTunes as that is for a factory-applied unlock only.
    5. Enjoy your new unlocked iPhone 4S!
****ALSO I JUST SPOKE WITH NICHOLE (VZN GLOBAL SUPPORT) REGARDING IF THE IPHONE 4S HAS TO BE ACTIVE AFTER SIM UNLOCK AND THE ANSWER IS: NO!

Let's say I have my Ipod on 24/7 running a random app and is on the charger, what would the life of the Ipod be?

I have no idea except it should be many years.. However, you should almost fully discharge the battery monthly to maximize the battery life in in the eventwant to use it on the battery.

  • HT1476 My Ipod Touch 5 is not charging.  Checked the cord and cleaned out the charging port.  Any ideas on what is wrong?

My iPod touch (5th generation) is not charging.  I have checked the cord and cleaned out the charging port and it still won't charge.  Any ideas or suggestions?

    Not Charge
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use. I do ot know what youmeant by "have checked the cord ")
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

My iPad Air when charging cuts in and out, also the charger is extremely hot. Have tried different chargers with and power outlets, all with the same outcome.

The troubling thing to me is the fact that the charger gets extremely hot - according to what you are saying. The charger can get warm and can get fairly warm when the iPad is charging, but it should never get extremely hot. Make an appointment at an Apple Store, take the iPad, the cable and the charger with you and ask them to look at everything for you.

  • HT1222 How can I check if I currently have QuickTime 7?  Is there a charge for QuickTime 7.7.3 and what is the charge for the QuickTime 7 Pro registration?

How can I check if I currently have QuickTime 7?  Is there a charge for QuickTime 7.7.3 and what is the charge for the QuickTime 7 Pro registration?

This is the iPhone forum, you should check the Quicktime forum. But, to try and help a little, I would say go to Help, About Quicktime and it should tell you what version it is. Also, Quicktime Pro does have a cost involved.

  • Why did you change the ipad to that crappy lightning cord.it does not stay plugged in to ipad to use it on ac power the cords short and overheat damaging the charger units. please change back to the old style.in this case newer is definately not better

anyone else think the lightning cord as a piece of garbage

I agree. It's much better than the old one.
If your have a problem with something overheating, that's not normal. You should take the charger, cable and iPad to the nearest Apple Store. Is the charger an Apple charger or a third party one? Many of the third party chargers are badly made.

  • Hi i have a proplem.yesterday i was playing on my ipad while charging it and then it turned off because the charge ended then i slept and kept in the charger all night ...when i woke up i found it still turned off now it keeps show logo then turn of.

First try a reset, by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

  • HT1414 After installing ios 7, my ipad 2 is taking a long time to charge, like 8 hours and not holding the charge. Help

After installing IOS7 on my IPad2, it takes a very long time to charge and does not hold the charge. Should I uninstall IOS7, how do you do that? HELP!!

Do you have the cover on your ipad? If so you may need to go into settings>General and turn on lock/ unlock so that it goes into standby when cover is closed. Not sure this is your problem but it was why my battery didn't last long. As far as long charge time goes I have noticed it is taking longer to charge also. Hope they fix some of these bugs in the first update.

  • I have problems with my charger. Because of the frequent use the wire was bended and damaged near the charger block.

I want to know why the device which is mobile and easy to use has such fragile.
Due to my work I have to travell a lot. I use my favorite Mac Air almost 24 hours per day.
Unfortunately, after 10 months of usage the charger broke. The wire of the charger bended and damaged.
I'm wondering why the charger for this great mobile device - Mac Air is not stable enough to carry its usage.
I'm asking the Apple Support Team to help me and replace the charger.
    Thank you.

    I travel a lot too.
You have to use common sense when handling anything with a power cord. With careful use they will last for many years. Mine have.
