2.4Gig, No good for TV cards?

I've got a FlyVideo98 TV card.
I first installed it in an Athlon 700 and I had minor interference.
I then got a 1.2gig Athlon chip and reception was perfect.
With my new 648 and 2.4Gig P4, I get unwatchable
Ghosting. I tried the Spread Spectrum BIOS option but
no difference.
Looks like TV cards are very suspectable to CPU Frequencies.

Maybe your TV card is affected by CPU speed, but cards in general are not.
I've been using the same Phoebe TVmaster card for about 2.5 years. All the way from a 600mhz Duron, to my present 2.4B. Reception has always been excellent.
Did you change anything besides the proc? If the card you are using has poor shielding on the TV tuner section, any device could cause interference, not just the CPU.

Some Internet providers that limit access to a single device at a time do so by the device's hardware MAC address. If your ISP is one of those, you may be able to substitute the MAC address of your AirPort Express base station for the computer. I would suggest that you contact them to find out if this is allowable.

Looking for a good TV Tuner card.

Hello all,
I'm looking into getting a good TV tuner card that will work for cable and satellite (if possible). I have Rogers cable and a unused Starchoice Satellite dish that I might use down the road.
I don't really know anything about TV tuners, so, I would appreciate a few suggestions on which will work good with my rig and cable or satellite.
Or do you guys think I should go for the ATI All-In-Wonder graphics card? I do play games like FEAR, Quake3, Dark age of camelot, etc...
Or stick with the geforce 7800 GT + TV tuner option?

as you've posted in the MSI TV tuner forum, we're only going to give advice on MSI products here
personally, i'd always stick with a seperate VGA card and TV card solution
if you're looking for a good analogue capture card, and picture quality is important, then maybe a hardware MPEG2 capture card, such as the MSI Theater 550PRO-E is the best choice for you
as your board has PCI-E 1x slots, this is an even better choice, as PCI cards can sometimes encounter lack of resources on newer PCI-E boards, especially SLI boards

Yes; phone is for Verizon PREPAID plans. Sri I did not state that correctly. I see that there are prepaid plans with monthly usage etc. I see some offers on line for a $100.00 card that's good for one year. Trying to determine if that is available from a Verizon store to begin a new plan. Checked with two different Verizon stores and got two opposite answers and neither was sure of the terms. Simply trying to get a low cost backup. Thank you for responding.

The issuing bank for this card is Techcombank, one of the largest banks in Vietnam. According to the bank, the transaction is processed in the US. This is a legitimate Visa card.
Please let me know as soon as possible. Apple does a disservice to its brand name by declining legitimate Visa account holders from using the cards in Vietnam.

Just as a warning, your credit card number has been sent in the clear to probably thousands of people, including anyone who subscribes to e-mail alerts to this forum. That's very, very bad. The credit card should be considered compromised at this point, and you should cancel it immediately, if you haven't done so already.

The javacard API is for developing applets on card. Java 6 is for developing clients off-card.
yes u can use any java IDEs like netbeans or jcreator. But you will have to select the libraries within the downloaded java card kit folder for ur IDE in order to compile successfully.
try reading up the documentation and run the samples in the java card kit. thats a good place to start.

24" iMac any good for games (compared to Mac Pro)

I'm on my second Mac Pro and after no end of trouble so i'm hoping to exchange it for a 24" imac but i was wondering if it's any good for games?
I would probably configure it with the 7600gt and maybe the 2.33ghz proccessor.
My mac pro with the x1900xt ran Quake 4 and Doom3 etc at full stettings really well but i've just had to much trouble with it!

The iMac would be fine for games for now, but you are stuck with the configuration that you purchase as there is no way (for now) to upgrade the video card.
There is a thought that some OEMs might make an upgrade card, but as of now there are none.
The big advantage of the Mac Pro is that it has the PCI-express video card that you can remove the stock card from and add a newer, better card.

Minecraft does not have heavy system requirements, so any of the current models will play minecraft just fine. Either the Core i5 or Core i7 will do for what Minecraft requires, so if you are only interested in Minecraft then I'd go for whatever fits your best price (the 15-inch will ultimately do better than the 13 inch because of the dedicated graphics card). If you are looking to extend beyond Minecraft and do heavy graphics processing in games or otherwise, then go for the Core i7 and higher quality dedicated graphics card.

I would say your biggest issue isn't as much your operating system as it is the network you use your device on. For example the most secure device in the world can be used at McDonalds open wifi and have its info intercepted....and it's not your device's fault rather the connection. Any security program is only as good as its weakest component.
THe iOS operating systems are still very secure because they are highly resistent to viruses and malware....but a user can still click on that 'you won a million dollars' link in an e-mail and hand their personal info over to a hacker.
If you feel you can no longer trust it, then stop using it. But I would say a user's internet connection and behavior are larger security vulnerabilities than any device.

Creating cards for a card game

So I'm playing with the idea of putting together a simple battle card playing game and am running up against a data/code issue. In the game will be various Cards (potentially hundreds). Each card will have some data describing various its strengths and it may also have complex methods that handle what happens when you play the card.
(I'd like each Card implementation to represent what the card does, as opposed to who may hold a particular copy of it. For example, I'd like to have a unique JackOfDiamondsCard object that represents info specific to the card. I may then have several Hands that contain CardInstance objects, some of which may have a reference to the unique JackOfDiamondsCard object. Thus the JackOfDiamonsCard could appear in multiple hands.)
At first glance it's a simple case of having a root Card class and hundreds of children that fill out the details. However, this has the problem that I can create many instances of the same card, which both seems like a waste of memory (since all instances would have exactly the same data) and would make equals() and hashCode() give different results for different instances of the same card.
One way around this is to put all the cards together into a single enum, but that would quickly grow to an unmanagable (and unreadable) size. I'd also like to be able to group the cards into different packages, or maybe even spread them across several jars.
Another way may be to turn each card into a singleton and then build an index of all the cards in the jar (maybe using @annotations?) This seems kind of complicated, though, and writing all those singletons would make for a lot of boilerplate in each card class.
Any ideas on a good way to tackle this? Are singletons the way to go or should I put up with potentially multiple copies of the same card object floating around?

Thank you so much for your advice. And yes it worked out perfectly i am so happy with it, it is a fabulous machine, i love apple products that are very impressive with regards to technology and keeping out the viruses that all other computers can get.
I told my husband that he should be lucky and he laughed lol, yes he loves it too. When we pay for something here we are very protected even if its a private sale, even better when through paypal, which is a good thing. The trading standards here are very strict and have to pass all sorts and if no its thrown out plus the banks give us protection when we buy something too, if its not what it should be we are reimbursed and the seller has to pay the bank then, so yes we are very lucky.
I agree this community is fabulous, plus i am very happy also as i was able to "pay it forward" too i answered somebody's question that i knew the answer to i was so chuffed to bits hehe.
Du to my disabilities i have to spend lots of time in hospital and when at home i spend most the time on the bed due to my spinal injury, from hit and run, so robert bought me the iPad 2 when it girst came out and i have love it all the time, still do but wanted to be able to do lots more so we decided to buy another macbook and so glad i found this one, whether i have to lie down or sit on the couch even for short periods i have the macbook on a lap try, has polystyrene balls in then a hard tray attached to it so the macbook is ver on anything soft, so it is very protected.
