2.93 MBP - Problems before I even opened the box.

Well. My new MBP arrived about 20 minutes ago. The shipping box was double taped on the top. I peeled the top layer off, and the tape below was slit, so the box was opened and then resealed. Fine...
I took out the box that houses the computer, and low and behold, there are two clear pieces of tape holding the box closed. You have to look closely: They aren't lined up perfectly.
Now my issue is: Why is this brand new machine from China resealed? Was this a defective machine that was repaired? Was this formerly a 2.8 machine that had the motherboard replaced to make it a 2.93?
I'm really frustrated, and angry. Before I open it, I may call Apple and ask for a refund. There's just too many concerns going on with these new MBPs to NOT be concerned about this.
Any thoughts on this crappy situation I'm in?

With international shipping, random packages within shipments are opened for Customs inspections, then re-sealed. I suspect this is what happened in your case.
If this was the case, then the inside box would not be be retaped with the same "security seal" that Apple uses on the inside box. FedEx shows no delays, and the machine shipped yesterday.

There's no higher incidence of problems with this model than with any previous model. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, these forums are like the emergency room for Macs, and if you judged people by that, you'd think that most of the human population was sick or injured.
My first thought was that maybe they did some kind of modification or "fix" to the machine before sending it out.
Open the box, power up your MBP, and enjoy!
I wish I could. I just know that once I break the (second) seal, there is no gong back, and I have committed to 3 spending grand.

I used the phone for about a month with no problems at all, even had my apple ID in the icloud and everything... well ios 7.0.6 came out and I used my computer to restore the phone, because I feel that the cord and computer gives it a better restore, it did great no problems, and when it went to the part where I went to activate the phone, I get a enter your apple id and password to complete activation... Wait... why is this up i thought, I thought I did everything like I suppose to to succesfully switch it to me, the new owner... but now its asking for some C******@yahoo.com.... I only have @gmail.com emails and none start with a C... The guy sold me the phone because he was switching to Verizon, and I tried to call him, and now the number is disconnected... I guess he switched to Verizon with a new number... Now im stuck with a paperweight that costed me $200.00... What can I do at this point... Please help me... You mean the default OS X mail app? Try reinstalling OS X Yosemite if that's the case.
If you are referring to 3rd party mail applications, that's a compatibility issue. Some apps don't work in the new operating system. You have to wait until the developer updates the app, or you have to revert back to Mavericks to continue using it.

I'm not sure if this will be a fix but it certainly can't hurt a thing. Locate this file:
com.apple.bluetooth.plist It's here: /Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Open the Preferences folder, locate that file, drag it to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot. Sometimes pref files can become corrupted and cause all kinds of problems. Your Mac will create a new pref file for you when your reboot.
See if that helps... post back.

Netflix just 'hangs' and won't even open the home page, although if i log in as a guest then I can access it.

Netflix won't even open the home page to let me register and just hangs for ages. I have the same trouble on both safari and firefox but have updated both anyway. I'm guessing this is an 'identity' issue because if I log in as a guest on my own laptop I can open the netflix site, although there are all sorts of parental controls on there that I can't seem to override!
I have un-installed silverlight, tried again but no luck.

A password reset would certainly be a good idea. However, it could be an iCloud issue. If you Mac matches your user password to your Apple password, it could be that when you initially start up, you don't have an internet connection...
Logging in as guest gets you connected, thus being able to authenticate. So when you change it, either make sure it's stored locally, or run some diagnostics on wifi connection upon startup. Out of interest, are you connected at the login screen (top right next to the time will tell you)?

Ok, here is what I have so far. Appdelete the iWork and reinstalled. Pages and Number work, but not Keynote.
Now, I downloaded a couple apps that I need, and no matter what I did, the spinning ball came up and the download stopped till it unlocked itself. It is really frustrating because the download was not completed and whatever came through would not mount. Could this issue be the internet connection? Permission fix showed a lot of Airport issues. How do I know if the iPad mini has the retina display, before buying it, by the box it comes in?

I was recently trying to buy an iPad Mini with retina display but the box it was in did not say anything about whether it had the retina display. Also the price they were going to charge me was $299 and not the $399 of the Mini with retina display. So how do I know by looking at the box if the Ipad Mini in the box has the retina display?

do you mean on the back cover of the box or the iPad itself. If it is only on the back side of the iPad itself, then I wont know if I have actually purchased the iPad Mini with retina display until I have opened the box. To me this is unacceptable as it creates a huge hassle if my intent was to buy thr iPad Mini with retina display but was actually sold the iPad Mini without retina display. When I return it for eith the right iPad mini or my money back, certain retailers have a habit of treating such people like criminals even when it was the retailers mistake. The box should be clearly maked to indicate which iPad mini in contains so the purchaser does not have to feel like they're playing roulette.

Skype is auto-answering even though the box is not...

I have a problem. Skype on my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S3) is automatically answering calls, even though the box is unchecked. Sometimes I don't even realise someone has called me, but my phone has already answered, so they can hear everything I am saying!
My Android Skype version is 4.6.0.42007

Very scary and outright dangerous. Wouldn't surprise me if a bug like this could have arosen from faulty answering button logic (i.e. the phone/framework thinks the green "answer" button is being pressed all the time though it is not).
In either case, this is just more icing on the cake which is a client broken beyond all repair. Android Skype just needs to be scrapped and rebuilt from the ground up if they are serious about supporting the platform any longer. As bad as things are now, I'd respect them far more if they just slam dunk announced that they have stopped supporting Android and are focusing on other platforms.
