2 AppleTv with the same wifi...
Hey Guys,
I've got an Apple TV at home... but I share my internet connection with one of my neighbour... and now she want an AppleTV but we dont want to share the same movie or something else...
there as a way to get 2 differents ranges on the wi-fi... so I would have my apple tv and she have her apple tv...

Home sharing is based on Apple ID's. I don't see any reason why you couldn't have two different home sharing setups working within the same network.
Just have her ATV and computer set up with her ID and yours with your ID.
Unless I'm missing something obvious.
Airplay is different. I think that you would see her ATV (and vice versa) when using Airplay, but as long as you don't select them then no harm done.

My Ipad 2 cant find my HP3050A j661b airprint printer although the printer is connected to the same wireless network and software updates are current on all and my other laptops also work properly with this printer.further more it used to work with my IPAD2 before when I used the old wireless router but now I changed it to HAUWEI HG231f but I set everything in the same way it was. Thanks in advance.
When you change to the new router, did you re-run the CD to re-set the new SSID and password to the printer.
Otherwise your iPad will not be able "talk" to your printer. -
Has anyone else found solution to Apple devices not 'seeing' each other on Home Share? I have a Macbook Air (new Nov'12) and Apple TV (new Dec'12). Software updated on both. Both are logged into the same Wifi network and the same iTunes account (I can view movies purchased from iTunes on my AppleTV). Home Sharing shows 'ON' for both devices. BUT...AppleTV shows no computers... and ... Itunes sidebar does not have a 'Shared' area at all. Help please as without this functionality, my Apple TV only provides portal to purchased (i.e. Netflix,...) content which I can get from Wii or Xbox.
I have already tried the following without success:
1. Homeshare DID work the first day after I setup Apple TV... but the next day it has not worked since then.
2. Powered off 30 sec then re-started (Apple TV & Macbook & iTunes login)
3. Checked Firewall settings per Home Sharing troubleshooting guide (correct settings)
4. Turning on Photostream in iPhoto and selecting iPhoto within iTunes and then checking to see if Photostream shows anything on AppleTV (it shows 'on' for my iTunes account but 'Zero' pictures found ... despite the >3,000 pictures showing avail in iTunes).
I also have 'Remote" app on my iPhone 4, with Home Sharing turned on (same Wifi network)... it has a very similar message as the Apple TV and same result that despite all devices having HomeShare 'on' they cannot see each other: "Remote will automatically find the iTunes libraries and Apple TVs that have Home Sharing turned on using the account xxxx (it lists my correct itunes account name)."I solved this by reset of the Wifi (unplug cable and power to both modem and wifi ... wait 60 sec ... plug in modem cable and power ... plug in wifi power and LAN to modem ... restart AppleTV and Mac ... Turn Home Share 'OFF' in iTunes then back "ON" ... it took ~60 sec for the AppleTV to pick up my Mac in computers.

the scenario is the following:
WIFI connection with TISCALI operator. Encryption made by WPA2 EAS with router SITECOM or tested also with another router DIGICOM with WPA TPK.
From December up to end of March the IPAD2 working perfectly serfing and downloading.
By two weeks it has a very strange behavour without have changed any configuration on IPAD or network:
with WIFI turned on it discover about 4 different ntw among them the mine, I successfully authenticate with psw the my ntw,
the IPAD2 start to run with Safari without problems, but after about 1 minutes, it stop to serf or download and answer that the Server cannot be reached or the page cannot be open, at the same time the signal is present on the icon of WIFI and it is strong.
This problem is systematic: If I dissasociate the ntw and then authenticate again I start to serf again for 1 minutes (more or less) and then it stops again, this occurs every time I authenticate the ntw after a disassociation.
I made some test changing the encryption from WPA2, WPA and also without encryption but the result was always the same, after about one minute the server seems to be for the IPAD2 no more reachable while the others PC and netbook connected to the same router continue to serf/download without problems!
I also tried to change the router with a DIGCOM that I did not use generally, but the behavour is always the same.
Since the IOS was the 4.3 revisin, I made the upgrade by means Itunes to IOS 5.1 succesfully installed.
But unfortunatelly all test repeted have had the same negative result with the same behavour!
Yesterday I tried to do the complete restore of the System but the tests had the same rsult.
I really don't know how to proceed, the problem started suddenly without any action from my side....is there someone that can help me?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

I have two IPhones and one IPad all with the same Apple ID. I can call facetime between the two IPhones, but I cannot call the IPAD from either of the IPhones and when I call my IPhone from the IPad it rings my wife's IPhone after briefly calling mine.
Each device needs a separate address. Use an email address (gmail.com) on the iPad.

I have a IPhone 5 and Iphone 5s, each phone is activited with a different service provider. Both are set up with the same account ID and running IOS 8.0.2. When the phones are connected to the same Wifi at home, both phones will ring when someone call in to one of the phone. Hence you do not know exactly which line the caller called. If you answered using the wrong phone, then anyone calling the other number will not get through. Anyway to solve this problem?

Thanks for the question. It sounds like your devices are set up to use continuity together. Specifically, it sounds like you are signed into the same Apple ID in FaceTime, and have iPhone Cellular Calls enabled. To resolve your issue, simply disable this setting:

Hi all, i can't sync over wifi between my iPhone 4 and Windows 7 64 bit, wifi sync works with the same phone and my Windows 8 machine so the problem seems confined to Windows 7. I've tried solutions from other threads -
Making sure everything is allowed through firewall
Rebooting phone/laptop/router
Disabling ipv6
Disabling all networks except the one curently on
Re-installing iTunes
Restoring iPhone
No luck with any of those unfortunately so i just thought i'd see if anyone else is still without wifi sync after trying those as well and if you ever found a fix, thanks.I just wanted to leave a note that it's working now. I'm not sure if it was the latest iTunes update that got it working or that i decided to start a new library instead of using the one i had backed up on Windows 8 (it didn't occur to me to check using the old library when i re-installed iTunes). But if anyone is having this problem, it might be worth trying again with a new installation of iTunes to see if the latest update works for you, and if not, try using a fresh library instead of a backup (by fresh library i mean discard your old library completely and start a new library, not just restore as new iPhone, a whole new library).

Hello, I am having some major troubles connecting my iPhone 4S to my home wifi. When I try to connect on my phone, it says I have an incorrect password. That's not possible because I can connect my MacBook to the same network with the same password. I have reset my network settings on my phone, reset my router, called apple support, triple checked I was trying it in correctly, I have no clue what's going on.
The only thing different is I just moved, but I have the same router/phone/internet provider.
I've seen some discussions of router security options being the problem, I have my router connected to : WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES].
The other options are: WEP , WPA-PSK[TKIP] , WPA2-PSK [AES] , WPA/WPA2 Enterprise.
My troubleshooting and understanding of all this is pretty limited, my applecare service did not help, please can anyone help me?

Not sure of what? In your second response you said the issue was with airplay. You were also having issues connecting laptop to computer, which points to a laptop connectivity issue. I simply asked if home sharing was an issue as well, since that will confirm the laptop as the cause. Your response that home sharing is on doesn't really help since that doesn't itself have a bearing on airplay nor does it answer the question in regards to if home sharing is working on Apple TV

why my iphone 4 connect to wifi, but when i open safari and search something it say i not connect.. but in the same house my sister using iphone4 too but she can online with the same router. i go and check over the detail of the network i connected, over the ip address and subnet mask have the numbers, but over the DNS and router don't have any number...isit the problem???? i can online at any other place but just my home cant...y????

Using mirroring with my apple tv and everthing shows up on the tv untill i try to watch a movie, i get the sound but no picture. I checked and both are on the same wifi?
I had this problem also. Several times in fact. And it has not been any relation with sw update (Apple TV). I managed to fix this on a strange way. I drop off WiFi in iMac and joined back. Right after thatI tried to adjust Airplay settings, but I didn't manage. Reason was that my iMac didn't found any Airplay devices (?). After about 2-3 minutes iMac recognized my Apple TV. And also audio "posting" to Apple TV started to work.
So restart your WiFi connection on your iMac or MacBook Pro - it may help.

We are on holiday in Mexico. Our iPad2 has no problem connecting to the Internet through our hotel's subscription WiFi network. But, both of our macbookpros can not with the same password. What can we try?
We can join the network, but can not access the Internet. The password is correct. We have tried network assistant and diagnostics, restarting the laptops, re-joining the network. Our iPhone 4s also works all the time.
Same location. Signal strength is good.Since I couldn't figure out a way to edit our original post, here's another potential clue.
Our laptops, when in System Preferences>Network, say "WiFi has the self-assigned IP address of XXXXXXXXX and will not be able to connect to the Internet".
Strangely, my six year old MBP running OS 10.6.8 accessed the Internet straight away, just by opening Safari to my home page. My wife's six month old MBP running OS 10.7.2 could not. -
I am trying to update my iPad 32 with retina display and whenever I do it tells me that I am not connected to the Internet even though I am. I have tried several different wifi spots with the same results. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks
Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go.

on the same wifi my iPhone 5s iOS 7 works fine please guide meI have iOS 8.0.2 running on all my devices. Two iPhone 5s', an iPad Air, an iPhone 6 and an iphone 6+. Both iphone 6's have virtually no wifi connectivity. The older devices are working fine on the same iOS version. When performing a speed test on both iPhone 6's, the speed goes from 20Mbps to 0Mbps for a few seconds then spikes upwards of 20Mbps again, on both upload and download. When the test is complete it averages the speeds and is around 3Mbps. The other devices on the same network average around 19Mbps. Again this is only happening on the iPhone 6 and 6+. The iPhone 5s and iPad Air running on iOS 8.0.2 have perfect connections. I have not seen a battery issue on any devices, like some people have been dealing with. I have attempted forgetting the network, powering down and through both iOS updates nothing seems to help.
