2 approvals 1 pending, thanks to you guys on this forum
My mom was telling me she wants to get a travel card. SO, I did a quick search on here at the posts and encouraged her to get the chase sapphire, it was not an instant approval and she was ready to throw in the towel so I gave her the backdoor number and she just needed to verify apt #. $15,300 approval. Next she went for the venture with instant approval for $10,000 Finally she went for the NFCU flagship (not sure why she picked this one and I didn't even browse to see what it was) But got the 3-5 day message and was told to call back next week and it is not a denial. I am happy for her!!!! Thanks to all of you active posters!!!
Thanks again!
Revelate, I am not sure, last she told me with her fako scores from CapitalOne was about 750 something. I know she did check her fico score but cant remember what she said it was. She pretty much have the prime cards, C.O she had for over 5 years (starter), an amex, chase freedom. One store card: Macy's.

I'm really sorry to bother you guys, but this is all new to me! i'm trying to put my face on another persons photo as a gag! i have been struggling with this all day! can anyone explain to me how this is done in language i can understand??? thanks in advance!
What software do you own? Give details, please.
Photoshop is a professional level application that makes no apologies for its very long and steep learning curve.
It's not something you can learn in a forum, question by question. Teaching someone Photoshop from scratch exceeds the scope of this or any other forum.
The process involves isolating your face, by selecting it and deleting the unwanted parts around your face or with layer masks, then placing it as a new layer on top of your target image, making sure it's the right size, color, lighting, etc. Google for tutorials on any of those elements you are unfamiliar with, -
i recently lost my 3rd Gen iPod and ive been using find my iPhone to send messages to it, my email then instantly tells me that it had been displayed or it suonded off however it doesn't find the iPod's current location. you guys think this app actually works? i feel like my alerts are just bouncing back at me. please help. Thanks!
... AFAIC Location Services is a joke.
With both devices sitting side by side on my kitchen table, Location Services has NEVER shown the devices to be any where close to each other, and at times Location Services has been as much as a 1/4 of a mile off between the two devices.
Your iPod Touch has no GPS receiver so determining its location relies upon wireless routers whose location is known. Its "location" is actually that of a wireless router. Your iPhone 4 can use GPS, cellular triangulation, and Wi-Fi. One would think GPS would be most accurate but urban areas have a greater density of cells and GPS signals are easily obstructed so cellular triangulation is often more accurate.
Therefore the two devices' locations can be expected to be different. Differences of a quarter mile are easily explained if you understand how location services works: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1975
Skyhook Wireless (I think Apple uses its own database now): http://www.skyhookwireless.com/howitworks/
Location Services is not a "joke"; its intended use is for basic navigation and for such applications as determining where the nearest restaurant is. It cannot tell you that your iPod is under the couch cushions and that your iPhone is in the car. -
Do you guys know this???
I see this effect in very many music videos and it makes them kinda look cool and professional. This light streaks usually, red, pink, purple used for transitioning between one cut to another. I know its not lens flare. Please check out this music video. You will see it. I want to know the name and how its done. That light streak is continuously used in transitioning.....
I really hope you guys know it,and give me the link to there
And the tutorial too.....please give me a proper anwser^^
Don't give me a bunch of WORDS...because i really lazy to read
Give me the tutorial video.....
I know there are some kind of Plugins of Fottage of these stuff...i hope you guys know it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psKuyTVOwXkBasic Workflow will show you how to layer and set blend mode.
Find some light leak stock footage, download, make a comp with 2 layers, top lite leak stock footage, bottom, your video, set blend mode of top footage to Screen, Add or Linear Light. This is more than basic AE. -
In what universe did you guys think this was a good looking UI for iTunes?
This is the ugliest, and pain in the *** to use UI, I have ever seen. Please please reconsider it. The UI is absolutely horrific to use (I had iTunes set up the way I wanted it prior to update, and now you can't set it up the way I had it before....)
Many thanks for these helps to get a little of the usefullness back into this dreadful distortion of iTunes; but can ANYONE help with key strokes to LOSE the "grid" of "album covers" in "Music" and go back to a more useful alphabetical LIST (you can do this in the OTHER genres - why not HERE where it is most necessary?!) - actually THAT I just found: you have to list things by SONG (actually track, since most of my library is not music) and then organize THAT by Album to get back to a useful screen.
The New York Times reported that under the new system you will not be able to durn discs with "gapless playback". Is this true? If so (and even if not), can anyone PLEASE tell us how to get back to the last version of iTunes 10?! There must be someplace it can still be downloaded. I would NEVER have installed this version (and I have *always* installed the latest version of iTunes when sent out) had I known about the Album Cover Grid (which precludes, as far as we can tell, the LARGER illustrations many were able to use under the old system) or the loss of the "gapless playback."
We are still Apple people, but before making THIS radical a change, some warning should have been given that this was NOT a simple cosmetic change like when we lost the charming little rotating cursor during downloads...and when a Community member blithely says "if you don't like Apple go somewhere else" he's ignoring that there IS nowhere else. iTunes has always been the gold standard of audio managing programs.
There changes alone degraded iTunes to something less than Windows Media player just for the sake of novelty and meaningless (except in their irritation quotient) cosmetics. If they wanted to go in that direction why, in heaven's name, couldn't they have offered a new "iTunes-Pop" version for people who don't actually USE their audio or graphics, and leave a great product essentially ALONE for the rest of us as "iTunes BASIC" - or at the very least had the default version closer to the version most of us LOVED rather than forcing us to search for "work-arounds" to make the most useful sound management program on the web useful again! There were things which NEEDED upgrading, and the gnomes at Apple addressed none of them.
The Search Engine has needed improvement for years - the size bar at the bottom of a screen has always been listed in inaccurate tenths of an hour rather than the more USEFUL minutes and seconds shown for individual tracks - THOSE things that actually NEEDED fixing to be useful they left alone. -
You guys think this will work?
Im just wondering if you guys think that this will work on intels.
http://www.resexcellence.com/news/?p=127You need Boot Camp and Windows installed as the ATI utility is .exe (make sure it's the latest .25 version)

Have you guys seen this fatelf stuff before?
I was just reading through some of the backpages on reddit... Anyhow, this fatelf concept is new to me. I was just wondering if it would ever be possible for something like this to be utilized by arch. I think it would be really cool if both the x86 and the x86_64 portions of arch could be merged back into one. I must admit that I don't understand this all too well, but it really does seem quite interesting.
http://icculus.org/fatelf/From the standpoint of the x86 version I do agree with the added size and complexity that this would create. However, for the 64-bit version of arch I think it would make things more clean. I think i have around 30 different lib-32... packages on my computer, which all work great until I install something which is not familiar with the arch lib layout, then there is trouble. I think if the 32-bit and 64-bit libs were combined under the 64-bit ed, then such situations would just not arise. Perhaps I am just looking at this from the end user's point of view though. If it was considerably more difficult for the people making the packages, then I would see it as a bad thing. However, if on the other hand it took the same amount of effort to create one combined package as it would to create either package seperately, then what would happen is there would be less work in total for the people creating these packages. Or maybe at some point in the future there could be the option to install a 32-bit, 64-bit combined library instead of the standard 64bit lib that would come with the system. That way people who have no desire to run 32bit software would not experience the swell from these larger binaries, however people who do want to run 32bit stuff would have a more simple implementation.
Sorry to worry you guys, I don't really have any intention of wanting to make arch into archbuntu. I just thought this idea was interesting and wanted to see if it could be usable here and if so where. -

I am no expert, but I did not see anything that I recognize as "the problem." In cases like this, diagnosing kernel panics is a step-by-step process. Start by disconnecting all peripherals and restart the Mac to see if the problem goes away. If the problem remains, continue with the next suggestion and repeat until you find the problem. Then you will know what to fix.

ADOBE EMPLOYEES, DO YOU EVER READ THIS FORUM?
Do you, or is this just a way to make us users believe that you care?
I'm asking because I've read about some features and strange interface behaviours that a lot of people want/complain about for years, and everything's still the same.
Just want to know if I'm wasting my time or not.Yeah, and I already sent them a revolted e-mail to the "Feature request / Bug report form" page (https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform). If you know any better place to forward this message, please tell me. Anyway, here's my angry letter, if you're curious about it:
"A question about feature requests
I apologize if this isn't the right place for this complaint, but I couldn't find any better place for it. I also apologize previously to you, the reader, if none of what's about to come isn't of your responsibility at all, but if that's the case, I ask you, please, to forward it to someone that has it, or even better, to someone with the power to do something about it.
I have lots of feature requests, but first I would just like to ask you something. What is the use of the programs's feature requests forums? I know forums are for discussion and help among users, but one would think these would be different, because naturally, you submit requests to the company, not to other users (although it can be interesting to see if they agree with you or not). I submitted a post a month ago asking you, adobe employees, if you ever read that forum (the Illustrator one). It now seems clear to me that you don't, since I got no answer. (Apart from the fact that made me suspect of this in the first place, which is the nonexistence of some features that have been asked for years).
So, my point is: either read what us users suggest, or don't even create such forums, since by doing that, you're just wasting our time, making us believe that you listen to your customers.
I hope you realize my respect for Adobe as a company has decreased enormously because of this and that I feel deeply offended, since basically, you're treating us users like idiots, we who take valuable time out of our working days in trying to help improve your products. And guess what? Microsoft, a company for which I didn't have much consideration for, and usually doesn't give a damn about design, accepted my feedback enthusiastically. Life's full of surprises, isn't it?
Hope to hear from Adobe soon (that's the least yo could do really, if not, just to say "Go kill yourself")

Wow, faster speeds thanks to you guys! But I could...
Hi,
Me again. I would just like to say thank you to everyone here who helped me out. I bought a BT Business hub and my speed has rocketed. My line capacity was at around 650-750kbps, now I'm topping 950kbps, which means I went up a profile! This meant my speed increased by 50%, from (512kbps) 60kBps to (750kbps) 90kBps.
I couldn't be more grateful to be honest and I'm actually getting close to the next profile threshold of 1152kbps for a profile of 1000kbps. But, I musn't get greedy now, so I'm content with what I'm at.
The reason I need help is because I'm struggling to decipher the BT Business Hub.
The first question I'd like to ask is. Can I manage the devices connected to the router, i.e. Change their Client IDs to something more readable and apply Port Forwarding (e.g. for a games console) by client as opposed to by the DHCP IP address, like I could on the very user friendly BT Homehub 3?
The second question is, could you help me interpret this information? For instance, where it says Rate. Is that the IP Profile threshold I should be assigned to? And where it says Max Rate, is that my line capacity? The Rate cap, is that just the same as my Max Rate as it seems to change with it?
The reason I'm interested is because I like to know what's going on with my internet, and it frustrates me when I don't.

Thanks again,
MikeHi to answer your second question max rate /rate cap the are the max your line can support
rate is your actual connection rate
as to port forwarding this may help

How you guys do this ? finding the latest thread and applying recovery
hi guys,
i am doing a bash script and i need to do know the latest arch log sequence every archived.
to know the latest arch log
i) either get the max(seq#) from v$archived_log
or
ii) i can go to the arch folder and get the one with the latest date.
however,
how do i get that value out and apply it in rman ?
Inside my rman script, i have got this..
recover database until sequence xxxx;
how do i fill in the value 'xxxx' ? with the latest archived log in the database ?
please advise
regards,
NoobV$LOG_HISTORY to view the redo logs that you have archived.
Perform an incomplete recovery until log sequence number 6 on thread 1:
run {
set until logseq 6 thread 1;
allocate channel ch1 type 'sbt_tape';
restore database;
recover database;
alter database open resetlogs;
reset database;
back up the database for new incarnation
run {
allocate channel ch1 type 'sbt_tape';
backup database;

sometimes when I try to make a call to someone, I can't hear the connecting tone im my phone, but the other party's phone is ringing. I have to end the call again and make another attempt. The connecting tone could only be heard after I made a redial. I have checked with many friends on different telcos, and they told me they also face this kind of problems. Can this problem be rectified?
I went back to the service provider twice and they reactivated my phone the first time and the second time the tech rebooted the phone and told me how to tell if it was on my end or the other person's end. Of course it didn't happen at the store, but right after I left I called a family member (on my plan) and the phone did this problem. It can be frustrating. The cell towers are strong in my area, so it can't be that. My next stop is to an Apple store but I am waiting until after Christmas. I can't deal with the shopping crowds!!!
