2 CDs stuck inside

I have 2 CDs stuck inside the CD/DVD drive slot. Do I need to open up the back of the machine and take out the burner to try and get these out? When the computer is on the drive tries to automatically eject but nothing will come out.

Hello,Welcome to Apple Discussions.
The optical drive is a sealed unit so removing the back of the iMac won't loosen the discs.
Surely one of the disks is protuding from the drive? I can't see how two could fit in a slot loading drive (and I'm not tempted to try too hard to find out).
My feeling is that if you can't pull out either disk, then the only way to do it would be to removed the optical drive from the iMac and try to open the drive enough to free the disk - optical drives are precision bits of kit though and unless you know what you're doing you could very quickly end up with a dead drive.
It may be worth consulting your local AASP.

  • My lock button is stuck inside my iPod touch.

    Whats wrong with it and How much will it be to get it fixed?
    I have an iPod touch, 4th generation.
    I got my iPod about a year and a half ago, but I've only used it for a year. About a month ago, after dance I had grabbed my iPod and tryed to unlock it but it wouldn't unlock. Before I pressed it to unlock it, it was very loose. After I pressed it, it got stuck inside and its still a little loose but it wouldn't come out. So I pressed the home button to unlock it and I've been doing that ever since. I have to let my iPod automatically lock, because of the button not being able to work. I'm just tired of waiting and not being able to lock my iPod. I was wondering if anyone has an idea of how much it will cost to get this problem fixed without the warranty (I never got to set it up)
    Please if you know how much, let me know. Thank you.

    I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple stoe.  Maybe they can free the button.  If not, Apple will only exchange it for a refurbished one for $99, $149 or $199 depending upon the capacity.

  • MacBook Air. How to eject CD when it stuck inside of Super Slim DVD player?

    I'm using MacBook Air with Super Slim USB2.0 (portable DVD player). I inserted a Blu-lay disk in accident and then the disk stuck inside of the player. I can hear motor sound from the player but disk does not come out. I tried to write "drutil eject" on Terminal but did not work. Please help me how to take the disk out of Super drive. Thanks!

    Five ways to eject a stuck CD or DVD from the optical drive
    Ejecting the stuck disc can usually be done in one of the following ways:
      1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
          left mouse button until the disc ejects.
      2. Press the Eject button on your keyboard.
      3. Click on the Eject button in the menubar.
      4. Press COMMAND-E.
      5. If none of the above work try this: Open the Terminal application in
          your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following:
            /usr/bin/drutil eject
    If this fails then try this:
    Boot the computer into Single-user Mode. At the prompt enter the same command as used above. To restart the computer enter "reboot" at the prompt without quotes.

  • Stuck Inside Native Method

    I have developed some Java code to call a third party DLL using JNI. Most of the time everything works as expected, but once in a while (generally after several days of processing) my program hangs. The root cause appears to be related to an intermittent issue with the driver that I am calling, something that I have no control over. When I perform a thread dump I can see that the thread is "stuck" inside the native method that I am calling. I am able to detect the hangup using a timer, and even obtain the "stuck" thread, but I cannot kick it back into life...or kill it in any way. Does anyone have any ideas?
    My code that is calling the native method is as follows:
    public void process() {
        System.out.println("Hello world from Java");
        Timer timer = new Timer();
        timer.schedule(new MyTimerTask(), 1000);
        myNativeMethod();
        System.out.println("Goodbye world from Java");
    }And the code for my timer task is as follows:
    public class MyTimerTask extends TimerTask {
        @Override
        public void run() {
            System.out.println("Timeout");
            ThreadGroup tg = Thread.currentThread().getThreadGroup();
            Thread[] list = new Thread[tg.activeCount()];
            tg.enumerate(list);
            for (Thread t : list) {
                System.out.println(t);
                System.out.println("---------------------------------------");
                StackTraceElement[] st = t.getStackTrace();
                for (StackTraceElement ste : st) {
                    System.out.println(ste);
                    if (ste.getMethodName().equals("myNativeMethod") && ste.isNativeMethod()) {
                        System.out.println("stuck thread " + t.getName() + " detected!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!");
                        t.interrupt();
                        break;
    }

    Absolutely.
    I am assuming that you mean b), which is not really an option A process is a process. Doesn't matter what it runs.
    An advantage that hasn't been mentioned in terms of a separate process is that if the dll has a system exception it will cause the process to exit. And there is no way to stop that. If that process is your JBoss server then it will exit. Which probably isn't what you want.
    As a separate process if if exits all you need to is detect that (via correct usage of Process) and then just start it up again.

  • My iPad 3 microsim card slot is stuck or jammed. Manually cut micro sim is stuck inside the slot. I can't open it. How to proceed?

    My iPad 3 microsim card slot is stuck or jammed. Manually cut micro sim is stuck inside the slot. I can't open it. How to proceed?

    If they can't extract the SIM without opening the iPad (which no service center is authorized to do), and you can't manage to get it out yourself, then you'll probably have to pay Apple's out-of-warranty replacement price and get the iPad replaced. Use of a cut-down SIM is not covered under warranty.

  • Earphone jack tip got stucked inside port. What should I do?

    Something happened to my earphones that the tip hot stucked inside the port. I tried to take it out but i could not. So what should I do? I'm so sad right now!

    Did the tip snap off inside or is it still attached to the headphones?  If it snapped off, you may try tweezers to remove it.  If you can't get it out, a trip to your local Apple retail store or AASP will be in order.

  • I have An Ipod Touch 4g and My Sleep/Wake Button is stuck inside so i am unable to press it How can i fix this?

    I have An Ipod Touch 4g and My Sleep/Wake Button is stuck inside so i am unable to press it How can i fix this?

    If not caused by accidental damage, the iPod Touch includes a one year warranty. If your iPod Touch remains under warranty, you can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby. If the iPod Touch remains under warranty you open the iPod Touch youself or by a 3rd party, doing so will void the warranty. If you live near an Apple Store, make an appointment to see if the store can get the button unstuck. If not under warranty, there won't be any charge for this.

  • I have two cds stuck in my macbook

    I have two CDs stuck in my macbook.  Is there an easy fix?

    No not really.  You can look at optical drive removal here: http://www.ifixit.com/Device/Mac but I would bring it to an Apple store or AASP and have a professional look at it.

  • Microsim card tray stuck inside Ipad 2 3g

    My microsim card tray is stuck inside(with a normal sim cut to a microsim, its working and i have the 3g, but the subscribtion is about to end next month) and i cannot remove it. i think the card is catching with its corner as i try to remove it. I am using the tool apple supplies in the box.
    Any advices?
    I'm desperate.

    So basically I took it to the Apple Care Centre - After the initial investigation since there were no physical damages apple replaced the entire iPad.
    Somethings to make sure before you take it to the apple care - No Physical Damages should be there at all on the iPad else it voids the warranty and hence you need to pay upfront to get it replaced under one of apples replacement programmes - around 24-25,000 INR
    If all is good and you request the apple care peple to take up the case properly you'll be brining in a new iPad of course.
    Hope this help!
    PS - for out of warranty iPad's this wont work. I think paying upfront will of course do - always adisable to take up additional warranty for apple products you own - it does help in the long run.

  • After selecting "Tones" within iTunes on iPad, I cannot get back to the regular music section. I am eternally stuck inside Tones. Help !!

    After selecting "Tones" within iTunes on iPad, I cannot get back to the regular music section. I am eternally stuck inside Tones. Help !! It's driving me nuts.

    I copied this from an extremely knowledgable iTunes for Windows user in another discussion. Maybe this will help.
    In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
    ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
    CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
    CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
    CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
    Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
    Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit (iTunes) > Preferences > Store anduntick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
    If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit(iTunes) > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
    With iTunes 11.0.3 you can enable artwork in the Songs and playlist views from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view.
    If you are a Mac user, all you have to do is start navigating through the menu items at the top of the screen to find just about everything that is mentioned here.

  • Disk stuck INSIDE laptop - Pavilion 17-e110dx (F9L87UAR#ABA)

    Hello -
    I have a Pavilion 17-e110dx (F9L87UAR#ABA), running Windows 8.1. Today I put a DVD into my optical drive, and when I didn't hear it spinning, I ejected the drive, but the disk is now stuck INSIDE my computer....please help!  The drive opens and closes without any problems...where did my disk go?!   How can I safely remove the optical drive in order to get the disk out? I do not want to damage the disk, as it contains irreplaceable pictures.
    Also - I purchased this laptop about a month ago, Refurbished, and it is still under warranty.
    Thank you!
    This question was solved.

    Thank you very much...it worked! But I do have to tell you that when I pulled out the optical drive, the CD-R was actually inside the computer...not inside the optical drive. Very strange...never had this happen to me before, and I've been using computers for a very long time!
    thanks again.

    It has to still be inside the optical drive. It is a closed tin can. Flip the laptop on its back, open the service bay and look for a single screw with a DVD drive icon next to it. Remove the screw and the DVD drive should slide out of the chassis with a little push from behind with a flat blade screwdriver. Pages 47-49 in this Manual show how.

    Once the drive is out of the chassis you can use the pinhole to open it with a bent-out paperclip. Open it all the way and you should be able to see the disk in there to remove it.

  • Tip of the charger stucked inside my N73

    is there anyone here have the same problem as mine?
    i charge my phone last night and i kinda confused why it doesn't fit on the phone...and i found out that the tip of the charger (the rubber on the tip) was missing...geez it was stucked inside.

    I've never heard of this happening before.
    If you are unable to remove it then you should take your phone to a nokia care point. They will be able to remove it without damaging the phone.

  • Lightning cable stuck inside my iPad!

    Like everybody else, i have the same issue with the lightning charger's flimsy end
    breaking off and getting stucked inside the iPad. I am so so disappointed
    with this...
    I didn't know how to go about it
    at first - so I took it to a nearby apple store only to be told that i would have
    to pay $199.99 for a replacement !?!?
    im very disappointed i dont know what else to say

    You could put a drop of super glue on the end of a straight screwdriver and bond it to the broken connector. Then pull out slowly. If you get it partially out, you could use tweezers.
