The question is, I can't arrange Dim 4 and Dim 5 side by side, but it only can arrange line this: Dim 4
Dim 5
How to arrange it to Dim 4 || Dim 5?
Please Help
Regards
Maria

Hi,
Thank you for reply, I mean how to arrange 2 column side by side in pivot table

  • How to display the column into the narrative or section from pivot table

I have a report. I have the basic number displayed in the pivot table, but missing one column and I need move one column to the top. The column missing (% of tested) should be calculated by column c /column F's last number, ie, F7=48. My desired column would be H3=c3/F48 9/48, H4=c4/F488/48.... But I could not get the number 48 into my formula, because it is the running total of the all column E. These data is in Pivot table.
I also need display No of Students 74 in the top of the report. I am not able to get this number from pivot table. It is count distinct on student key from the repository.
    I appreciate any help.

I wish it was this easy. I must not explain it right. All the score from each student and each question for each subject and each test is stored in database. The number of question for the subject is the max of the questions for each subject. Basically, it needs 'parittion by'... But in the OBIEE, it would not let me add any 'partition by' in the column formula. Is this true? ie, can you use partition by in the column formula? Here are the query from trace file.

  • How to Sort Dimension in Pivot Table via Order Column which is changing like Factual values

    Hi,
Recently in of our product offerings we got stuck on this following question:
How to Sort Dimension based on the Order Value which Keeps Changing with Factual Values??
We have a data source laid out as (example)
In the above the “Order” columns are changing per
    Company/(DimensionA) for DimesnsionB.
Instead what we want is: (But only if we can get the following result without putting the “Order” Column in the “Values” Section.
If there are any configurations that we can make to our power pivot model for the similar data set so that the
DimesnionB in this case can be sorted by the Order column, would be greatly helpful to us.
    Sample File:
    http://tms.managility.com.au/query_example.xlsx
    Thanks
    Amol

    Hi Amol,
According to your description, you need to sort dimension members in Pivot Table via order column, and you don't want the order column show on the Pivot table, right?
Based on my research, we can sort the data on the Pivot table based on one of the columns in that table, and we cannot sort the data based on the columns that not existed on the Pivot table. So in your scenario, to achieve your requirement, you can
add the column to pivot table and hide it.

  • Percentage of Total Count of Category in Raw Data Column in Pivot Table

I have normalized my data in Excel and I have a column: "question 1" and then a column for "gender" which has values as "female" and "male". I have created a pivot table for these two variables, "Gender" and
"Question 1". My values for Females and Males from the Gender data are presented within my pivot table. I want to present these numbers as percentages of Total "Females" and "Males" that are in the "Gender" column in
my master dataset. Pivot tables will only allow me to do %'s of data already in the pivot table
I am attempting to use Calculated Fields within Pivot Tables to resolve this. I do not want to create a separate column in my master data set, but rather, complete all calculations within the pivot table

    Thank you very much,
The steps you provided use the total "gender" within the pivot table as the "grand total".
If I have a binomial variable, "gender" with "male" as one of the variables, I need the grand total be the total male in the raw data.
Example: if there are 100 total males in the raw data for the column "gender"
and I construct a pivot table with a dependent variable which is a survey question and "gender"  and 30 males "agreed" with the survey question and 20 females "agreed" with the survey question, your instructions for % of grand total would show 60% for
males who agree [males + females who replied to the survey question],
when, what I need is the total males in the raw data, 100, used as the total so that the percentage of males who answered "agreed" to the survey question is 30% of all males.
    Thank you very much

  • Variance between 2 columns in a Pivot Table

    Hello,
We have an analysis that is a Union of 2 analysis. It has two result columns in the Union, each column have a value of one month. We have to create a third column with the variance between the second and first column.
We are using a Pivot Table and creating a New Calculated Item in the month column with difference between the columns ($2 - $1). But this results in four different columns - The 2 original ones and the difference repeated (for each month).
Pls. is there a way to build the pivot table the way we need it ? with just the 3rd column as a variance result.
    Txs for any help.
    Antonio

You may get the logical query as below
    SELECT saw_0, saw_1, FROM (
    (SELECT A saw_0, B saw_1 FROM "SA" )
    UNION
    (SELECT C saw_0, D saw_1 FROM "SA" )
    ) t1 ORDER BY saw_0
I would suggest to create another column at first line of SELECT so that you can use those saw_0, saw_1 columns to get another column something like
    SELECT saw_0, saw_1, saw_0+saw_1 FROM (
    (SELECT A saw_0, B saw_1 FROM "SA" )
    UNION
    (SELECT C saw_0, D saw_1 FROM "SA" )
    ) t1 ORDER BY saw_0
This is just a hint you need to put in your requirements
    if make sense mark :)

  • Hide/remove column  in adf pivot table

Is it somehow possible to hide or to remove column (I need to hide agregate column, but is it possible for regular data cell) dynamically when some conditions are met? I've tried getDataFormat and getheaderFormat methods to set width of the columns to 0, but it doesn't work. Also I've tried to set rawvalue of data cell to null/"" and width to 0 but without success to hide column. Problem applies to adf pivot table 11g.
    Thank You!

    HI,
You have the option for the column as to be suppress or repeat
Go to column properties and go to column format second tab select the option Suppress.

  • OBIEE: Pivot table chart is not proper when GOURL is on Measure Column

    Hi All,
I a facing an issue with Pivot table chart drill.
    Pivot Table columns:
Row description column in row section.
Column description (Periods) in column section and
A Number format amount column in Measure Section (In BMM it is not defined as a measure column).
GOURL written on the Measure column to enable the drill in Pivot table data.
When I click on chart the pivoted reasults Graph: Vertical Bar, Type: Default, Style: Rectangle.
It shows the row description in X axis but the amount is not shown properly (it just shows 1,2,3..numbers on Y axis instead of the amounts which are in lakhs) on Y axis and alos there is not vertical bars showing up.
Any help in this regard is very helpfull.

  • Sort Order in Pivot Table

    Hi,
I am unable to get sort order in desc , even if I specify the descending order for that measure column in criteria.
The view I'm using is Pivot View.
    Thankyou,
    Vinay

Assuming the column you want to sort on is not the first column in the rows section of your pivot table, then do this:
    1) Duplicate the column that you wish to sort on.
    2) Move that column all the way to the left so it is the first column.
    3) Apply the sort to this column.
    4) Hide the column.
This will sort the pivot table...

  • DrillDown in Pivot Table - answer

How can I have a column title drill down in a pivot table?
When you create a regular table the user can do a Drill down by clicking the column title or a particular element.. when he click over the column title he get a drill down for all the element...
When I create a Pivot Table I'm getting only the element drilldown and loosing the column title drilldown
    Thanks!!!

How about just using a column selector? Would be a lot easier. If you show "Continent" by default as a level of your geo hierarhcy (just an example) and you want to see all "Regions" then you can just switch between levels with the column selector. Add the necessary prompts to the page to be able to constrain the data set retrieved and Bob's you uncle.
    Cheers,
    C.

  • Conditional formating in Pivot Table

    Hi All,
I have 3 columns Year, Month & Sales in my pivot table. I have applied conditional formatting to sales column as
if sales < 20 million Red
    Sales > 30 million green
    Sales between 20, 30 yellow
    Now,
I have set the drilldown such that, when i drill down the year it drills down to prod categories --> products --> etc
when i have just year, month & sales everything looks good, but when i drill down to next level ie: product category, the conditional formatting is getting carried to the next level which i dont want to.
Is there any way to make sure that the conditional formatting does not carry forward or give a new set of conditions to the next level.
    Thanks in Advance,
    VNK

With Navigation, you can customize the report that the parent report goes to when a user clicks on a value (or column). Set your child report with all the columns you want and with whatever conditional formatting you want.
On the value you want the user to click on to go to this child report, click on the format properties (finger icon) and click on the Column tab. Set the Value Interaction to Navigation and point to the child report.
In the child report, on the same column (you need to have the same column in the child report), add an "Is Prompted" filter.
This will give you full control of the conditional formatting you desired and the "drill down" effect.

    SELECT Periods."Year" saw_0, Periods."Month" saw_1, SalesFacts.Dollars saw_2, RANK(SalesFacts.Dollars BY Periods."Year") saw_3
FROM SupplierSales ORDER BY saw_0, saw_3
In table view the order is correct.
However in pivot table for 1998 (year) the order is correct, for 1999 not!
    Ordering : 1. Year, 2. RANK
    Page: Year, Rows : Months
    Measures : Dollars and RANK
( I tried to put the RANK into Rows section, the result is same )
What is the reason of this strange behavior?
    Thanks
    Laszlo

Try Sort Column and Row properties given in pivot Table Chart...

  • Can I navigate and drill down in chart and pivot table?

In the fact, the end user want to navigate to a detail report request when drill down to the final level.
I know when use table, I can navigate on data and drill down on column.
But in chart and "pivot table", I do not find the option of interaction to achieve this.
    Any suggestion?

You can drill down in charts but I just saw you can't in pivots (strange because I assumed that that must be possible)
However, you can always use guided navigation!

  • Sorting Column's Label in Pivot Table

    Hi Fellows !!
This is my problem: I have two tables, dates and rates, providing me data for a report. Dates has a DateId (number), Year(number) and Month(varchar2(12)), and Rates has DateId(number) and RateAmount(number). I wrote a quite simple query to obtain report's data:
    SELECT DATES.YEAR, DATES.MONTH, RATES.RATEAMOUNT
    FROM DATES, RATES
    WHERE DATES.DATEID = RATES.DATEID.
I must to show as a pivot each rate by month for each year. Years must be showed as row heading and sorted descending (this already works) and Months must be showed as column's labels. Something like this:
    ----------|January|February|......|December|
    2008 | 737.3 | 372.3 |......| 342.56 |
    2007 | 346.2 | 456.6 |......| 678.78 |
The problem is Months always appear in Lexicographical order: April, August, December, ..., September. How can I to define the correct sort for Month ? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Vetsrini, thank you for your answer.
I've included an additional DATES table's field in query, and it contains the number of month, according to your suggestion. Results for query show month's names in proper form, but when I set up the pivot table from template builder and get preview for results (pdf, html, etc), I still get month's names in Lexicographical order. All the examples and documentation tips (sorting tags and others) I've found seems to apply to normal tables, because none of that works in my pivot table. Any other ideas are welcome.

  • Error in displaying two pivot tables side by side

I am creating two pivot tables. They work fine when one after the other. BI Publisher gives an error if I place them side by side.
One more issue. If i use this "for-eachCOLUMN0end" I get the following:
    Balances with Central Bank
    Cash and Cash-equivalent Securities
    Inter-bank Deposits
    Cash
    Asset-backed Securities Assets
I want to just display any one of these, say Cash. How do I achieve that?
    Thanks in advance

The method has to diplay two boxes side-by side, as if they were sitting on the ground next to each other. The first box's character is the number 1. It has a height of 3, a length of 8 and has to sit six spaces from the left side of the page and be completely filled in. The second box sits six paces from the first, it has a height of 8, a length of 5 and the character has to be the number 2. This is filled in as well.
I understand I would have to build on the method. How would I go about formulating a plan to do this. The program is a textmode device, like a printer prints from left to right.
    Thanks for reply
