2-days and still downloading
I started downloading ML yesterday afternoon, only to wake-up this morning and it had not completed downloading. It has been downloading for about 2 hours now and the indicator bar has not moved. Is this normal, what do I need to do to get this thing up and running?

That is definitely not normal behavior, however the file is about 3GB in size so depending on your connection speed it could possibly take that long to download. However, if the indicator bar hasn't moved at all there is a possibility that your download has stalled. You may need to just redownload it again.

Disable anti virus software.
Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent apps from downloading including Mountain Lion as well as third party download managers.
Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation. -
16 days and still BT can't reset my IP Profile!
After getting one of the Hub 2.0 Type B in March I have been until June fault free. Gone are the constant random disconnects and the annoying flashing orange broadband light.
June 9th 2010 I rang BT and renewed my Broadband contract for 12 months. Was on Anywhere package but cancelled the BT Mobile and went to the unlimited Option 3, with the discount and saving from cancelling the mobile its down to £19.99 a month.
June 10th 2010 and thats the end of my constant 6 - 6.5mb download speed. IP Profile is down to 2000kbps. I ring the Broadband Helpline and its the usual plug into the master socket, change your filters etc etc etc. Then without even asking I'm put through to a floor manager. He checks my account and I ask is this anything to do with my broadband renewal the day before? Line goes silent. Apparently work is being carried out at my local exchange, everyone in the areas speeds will be a lot lower than normal but it will be completed by midnight on June 22nd. He'd personally call me on June 23rd at midday to check the speed has recovered. They carried out a line test and all came back as being fault free.
Asked a few local people connected to the local BT Exchange and funnily enough they have no Broadband speed reduction.
23rd June midday comes and goes, no call. I ring the helpline, there is no floor manager by the name I was given! Theres also no notes on my account from 10th June hence no call back. That's the next hour of my life gone down the drain having to explain everything again. I ask if the work at the local exchange has been finished. What work comes their response. So thats 13 days waiting for nothing. I'm told that my line speed is actually 5.6mb but when I explain the IP Profile is 2000kbps I'm put on hold again. Now onto another supervisor and re-explain yet again. A line test is run and now 3 faults are found. I'm told that an engineer is needed and I'll be called by that department shortly. 2 hours later engineering team call. All the faults have been fixed, its a BT Network fault. IP Profile has been manually reset to my original 7150kbps and within a day all will be fixed. I'm told the case will remain open for 5 days, any problems just ring the normal helpline number. Within minutes my IP Profile is now down to 1000kbps. So much for improving things.
25th June and still IP Profile of my line 1000kbps. Needless to say its a nightmare trying to do anything at all online. Once again I ring the so called Broadband Helpline. Spend ages explaining it all again. I'm told my IP Profile will be reset again as apparently its not been done and someone will call back in a few minutes. They indeed call and assure me its all fixed. I wait an hour (supposed to have taken seconds to fix) run bt speedtester and yup IP Profile for your line is 1000kbps. Another call, another excuse as to whats gone wrong, another supervisor and another line test, yes now apparently lines faulty again. So engineer booked for next day Saturday 26th June. I explain I've made arrangements and I'm out all day, I'm told if I'm not in I'll be charged, I asked about changing to a different day, not allowed you gotta take what your given. Thats my plans for Saturday out the window. I'm told without doubt whatever the problem is the engineer will fix it.
26th June engineer arrives. He's been given no information about whats wrong. I explain it to him and he tells me if its the IP Profile thats the problem he cant do anything as hes just there to make sure the line for the broadband is working. IP Profile is sorted out by Internet Service Provider (BT). The bungalow I live in is pretty new and the master socket is outside. Apparently all new builds now have no master socket inside the building its all outside in a little grey box. He connects to the master socket and gets 5.6mb download speed. Tries inside and gets slightly less. Fair play to him he checked every single telephone socket and took the wires out and re-connected them. There were some spare wires so he put a master socket inside and plugged directly into that. 5.6mb download speed. Connected my Hub and ran BT Speedtester.

He tells me when BT ring once he's gone tell them to reset the IP Profile. He explained how I can get over 5mb but until BT change my IP Profile 1000kbps is the absolute maximum. BT call, I ask them to reset my IP Profile. No that can't be done, an engineer needs to come out and do that. They'll ring back with a date and time.
They ring back, we've spoken to engineering department and we can reset it. It'll take a maximum of 2 hours. This was at 5pm. They told me not to use the internet or hub until 7pm. Then press the restart button on the hub and all will be fixed. They'll call to check too. Did what I was told, then ran another speedtest and get the same results as above. They call back, its all been fixed! I ask are they sure I'm still getting the same IP Profile of 1000kbps. Low and behold oh its not been reset yet again! Now I'm told theres faults on the line but I can get 5.6 download speed. Yes i can, but not until they rest my IP Profile which is limiting my broadband to 1mb! I ask what happens now? Gotta pass it back to engineers to arrange another one to come out. I asked what the line faults were but he refused to answer.
16 days and still no closer to getting anything fixed. Apparently its in the engineers report which they have been sent to that my IP Profile needs to be rest but apparently that is something which BT are refusing to do.

On your iPad tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account - that should give you a payments link on your account's page. Or on your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should also be a payment link.

I was in the process of downloading something tonight and decided to close my browser. Unfortunately, the download window also closed and that meant my download was gone and I would have to start over again.
I went back and started the download again and the download box showed the file picked up where it left off but when I closed the browser the same thing happened again; the download box closed when I closed the browser.
The reason I close the browser is because my downloads download faster when the browser is closed and now that option is closed to me.
Is this a new feature if so I don't like it as a matter of fact I would say I'm very pissed off with this new development. Please go back to fixing it so I can close the browser and still download.Hi cor-el:

I went to about:config like you suggest and changed the the thing you said. There is no improvement. Instead of my browser and the download box closing when I click on exit button/link now a box pops up with the message "If you exit now, 1 download will be canceled. Are you sure you want to exit?
I don't need a box to warn me that if I exit that the downloads manager would close as well...I already know that and that's the problem. I want a way to stop the download manager box from closing when I exit the browser like it used to.

I have a iphone 4s, it died and has been on the charger for the last two days and still wont turn on. Since you dropped and damaged your phone, you've voided your warranty. As such, you can bring it in to Apple for an out of warranty exchange, which will cost 199.00 USD. Or, since it's now out of warranty anyway, you can Google an iPhone repair shop in your area and see if it will cost less than that for repair.

It is the third day and still no change in my order, if it was delayed because of the earthquake would it say somewhere?
Current shipping indications, for iPad 2s ordered on 12 March, are for shipping on April 11, with delivery about the 17th of April.
This is not Apple's first rodeo. You'd think they would make some provisions for supplying customers who choose NOT to get in line at 3 AM, taking their chances of even getting an iPad 2, much less getting one the way they would like it.
It would be nice if Apple would at least compensate those who place their orders online on the 2nd day of supposed availability of their product by either offering a slight price advantage, or possibly some added accessory, such as a pair of earphones, which, by the way, the device should come equipped with in the first place!
Instead the give false estimates of shipping dates, then switch the dates once the order has been placed. It's a great product, and everyone knows it will be in high demand. I suspected there would be a one-month delay after the first day's rush, and sure enough, that's what there is. Why not tell it like it is from the beginning? -

Iphone 6 been restoring from icloud backup for 9 days and still not finished?
I got my iPhone 6 on the 19th when it came out. It's an ATT 128 gb model. I started restoring from icloud backup on that Friday (9 days ago). It still is saying it's restoring from backup. Daily it's asking me to delete the data or keep downloading. This phone is for my business, so the info is very important. I am also worried that all the things in the last week have yet to be backed up since then, because I can't back it up till the restore is complete. I also can't do the new software update 8.0.2. I am on a fast WIFI nearly 18+ hours a day and I can surf the net just fine, but why is my restore from 9 days ago still not finished?

This needs to get improved. I had the exact same issue migrating my 5 and wife's 5S previously. It's never worked well. We need status bars, and indications of what has been copied, what remains to be copied, and ways to resume it and pause it without hoping it works and getting messages in the morning asking if you want to resume it, making you wonder if anything actually occurred overnight. The message doesn't pop up within 10 minutes of connecting to power and wi-fi so I have no idea how long it actually takes to come up.
It's unacceptable to think any device owner wants to roll the dice and hope they have all their data. We use these devices for our jobs and that data is critical for some of us. It's not all just pictures of the dog! Even though those are critical, too!! It would be different if this wasn't a known issue and the resolution wasn't so easy...get this fixed!!! -
I have been trying for 2 days to connect my home camera dvr to the internet through my Airport Extreme. I have read several previous posts on this topic and have not been able to get this completed. I secured a Dyndns account and registered a host domain. I am not clear on which ip address to use and really which is which. Seems like the ip address for the router is different from the ip address that showed up when I secured my dyndns host name. I used the one that was listed on the signup that staed " your ip address is". I have read up on port forwarding and watched UTube and still no luck. Can someone walk me through a steo by step process on how to get this completed? I want to be able to watch my cameras from my iphone, ipad, macbook pro and the internet. I do have a manual that came with the DVR but it seems everything is setup for Windows and a different router, seems like the AE router had different settings. I can usually figure these things out eventually but I am really stuck this time. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

4 days and still 4500 songs to upload!
I subscribed to iTunes Match last week after 4 days it's still going through the initial setup stage. It goes through the first two steps ago but it's stuck on the third step where it uploads songs. Originally I had about 6000 songs to upload but it just keeps hanging on step here. It uploads about 100 or song songs and then just restarts the installation process and he just uploads another 100 songs at step three and then just restarts the setup process back at step one. If I stop the iTunes Match setup process it doesn't then allow me to manually upload the songs to iTunes match.
I do have about 100 error songs but apart from that I've waited 4 days so far for iTunes Match to complete my whole library and still got 4500 songs to go...at. Hs late it will take months for the initial setup to finish.
Help...how can I quickly complete they setup of iTunes Match and get all my songs uploaded?If phoning them gets you nowhere, then you might want to try this:
