2 different itunes accounts, 2 computers, 3 different types of iphone/ipods, how to share?

I have an iPhone, and 2 iPods and my own computer and itunes account. My daughter has an iPod, her own computer and her own itunes account. At some point (not that long ago) I found a way to add the songs she bought to my phone and add the songs I bought to her iPod. Apple prompted me to link our accounts some way. I don't remember how I did that now and can't figure out how to add the songs she bought to my iPhone. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry - not sure what you are asking. The Purchased music on your device is either on your device (i.e., downloaded to it), or it is not downloaded, in which case it is in iTunes in the Cloud. On your Mac, the same is true. Each device or machine may have different Purchases downloaded from iTunes in the Cloud.
What is it that you are wanting to do?

New to Apple products (finally) - can I use my Itunes account with multiple products e.g. Iphone and Ipad?

Oh yes! Apple will be happy for you to buy as many Apple products as you can afford.
As and when needed, each can be given its own selections of content to sync with.

  • I have an iphone 4. I disconnected it from my iTunes account but I am still using the iphone and the Apple ID. If I make a purchase will it work? Also, how can I reconnect my iphone to my Apple ID?

    I have an iphone 4.
I disconnected it from my iTunes account but I am still using the iphone and the Apple ID.
If I make a purchase will it work?
Also, how can I reconnect my iphone to my Apple ID?

Do you mean that you removed the phone from the 'manage devices' section of your iTunes account ? If you do then that won't stop you being able to purchase items on your phone - you only need to be logged into an account to be able to purchase with it.
If you do mean the 'manage devices' section then you can associate, or re-associate, a device (or computer) by using iTunes Match, or automatic downloads, or redownloading past purchases on it : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

I have created an iTunes account on my current computer for my daughters ipod touch and tried connecting my ipod nano and it won't sync and says that it is associated with another iTunes library so how do I merge the two libraries?

    You do not merge libraries.
iDevices sync to one and only one computer.
If you want a single library, you manually move the content from one library to another... all content will still be associated with the Apple ID it was acquired with.

Trying to set up Fam Sharing but can't get past the prompt telling me to add a payment method. I already have a payment in my iTunes account and wish to use it for FS. How do I do this?

    Hi printspat,
From what I gather, you have a payment method selected for your iTunes Store account which isn’t being accepted when setting up Family Sharing.
Take a look at the he article linked below provides, which provides a lot of great information about Family Sharing, and make sure you're trying to use a valid payment method for setting up Family Sharing.
Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support
One adult in the family—the family organizer—can set up Family Sharing for the group from their iOS device or Mac. When you set up Family Sharing, you'll be asked to confirm that you agree to pay for purchases initiated by the family members you invite and that you have a valid payment method on file. Valid payment methods for setting up Family Sharing include credit cards and debit cards.*

  • If I log out of my Itunes account will I lose my apps on my ipod?

I'm planing on giving my ipod to my brother, I want to get out of my itunes account so he can get on his but he wants some of the apps that I already have. If I logout of my Itunes account will my apps still be on my ipod?

It will not remove any media form the iPod except if you sign out/delete tjhe iClould account Contacts Calendar, Notes and Reminderswill be deleted.
    Note:
    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

  • HT1386 We have 3 ipods in family. Can I use same computer for 3 different itune accounts? When I plug in my Daughters ipod or ipad, my own library with all my music comes up, not hers, even when I've logged out and logged her in? Can anyone help? Thanks

We have 3 ipods and 2 ipads in our house, with one computer. I have set up my own itunes account and one each for my two Daughters. When I try to add music or sync their ipads/ipods, my own library with my own music comes up, even when I have signed out of my own account and put their account in. Am I able to have 3 accounts on the same computer with seperate music libaries and able to sync without each persons music syncing onto the wrong device? Thank you.

  • How to share one Itunes account between computers

I'm trying to figure out how to actually move music in Itunes from one computer to another. I have the same account set up on both my desktop and laptop and I can access music from one on the other when they are both signed into Itunes. However, I would like to move some music from the desktop onto my laptop. Can I do this without hooking them up together (i.e. firewire cable, or whatever you would normally use)? Thanks!

  • De-authorising my iTunes account on computers

    Hi,
My account says that there are 4 computers authorised to use my iTunes account. Is there anyway I can reset this and stop the other computers being able to access my account? Not sure which computers these are..
    Kind regards
    Sabita

It looks like 4 computers are currently authorized to play music that you have purchased. They would still need to know your password in order to be able to purchase music, TV shows, or movies.
To deauthorize all computers click on "Store" and then "View My Account." Login and click the button appropriately labeled, "Deauthorize All."
You can only deauthorize all computers once per year. However, if you know what computers you have authorized then you can deauthorize each computer individually.

  • One iTunes account, two computers...

    Dear community,
My first post: I'm looking for some advice regarding my iTunes account. Can anyone solve this conundrum?
My ex-girlfriend and i used to share a computer (windows vista) with my iTunes account on it. I used to sink my iPhone 3G on it.
We went our separate ways, still friends, now she has the computer. I bought a laptop (Windows 7), loaded iTunes on to it and opened my account but no sign of music etc.
I'm borrowing the old computer for a week to see if i can sink my phone for the first time in a year but chiefly to duplicate our music collection using an external hard drive. I would like to be able to sink my phone on my own computer in the future and return the old computer with her music still intact.
Do you think i will need to start a new account for her or de-authorise her computer and load a copy of the music back on to her computer?
Can anyone help? Very many thanks. (I'm about to receive an iPhone 4S so really should be ready).

You can copy the entire iTunes folder from the old one to the new one. Recommend you change the password to your account if you haven't done so already, but I guess you can leave her machine authorised until you find you need all five authorisations for yourself.

  • Multiple iTunes Accounts Multiple Computers

We have 2 MacMinis, and  a new  AppleTV2  and  one SonyTV.   How  do we get the AppleTV2   to work  with BOTH our iTunes  accounts.  One on each  computer?  Right now  it  just sees  the  first device.   We share a secure wireless network of  an Airport Extreme router.  All works well, but  with only one of  the Minis.

you need to authorize home sharing on both machine using the same iTunes store account. once that's done, it doesn't matter if iTunes on Mac 1 is using iTunes store account X and the other is using iTS account Y.

  • 2 iTunes Accounts, 2 computers, multiple iPads/iPhones/iPods

My wife and I have several iDevices between the two of us, and we currently share one iTunes account.  She recently received an iPad for work, and needs to set up a separate iTunes account that can be linked to her corporate credit card for business app purchases.  She is going to set up her own iTunes account on her work computer, and from now on, sync her devices to her account.  But I still want to be able to share our music and apps (which are associated with my iTunes account) with her.  I think homesharing can do this, but I'm a little confused about the best way to go about transferring all of the apps and music to her work computer to be synced with her new iPad.  Does anyone have any suggestions/tips on the best way to separate our account and devices?  Also, what is the best way for us to make iTunes purchases moving forward?  She will have her new iTunes account linked to her corporate card for business app purchases, but what about when she wants to make a personal purchase?  Can she somehow make it from my iTunes account?  Anyone have any suggestions on best practices for our situation?

I have 3 iPhones, one iPad and 2 PC's, all using the same iTunes account.  I want to be able to have each iPhone keep their own list of accounts and music list and the I pad different as well.  I want to 2 PC's music list to match.  How do I do this?
Additionally, when I connected iPhone #3 to one PC, it removed the contacts from #3 and replaced it with contacts from iPhone #2.  How do I get those contacts back and prevent this from happening again?

    Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:

  • I have 2 itunes accounts and I want to cancel one of them how do i cancel it?

I have 2 different itunes accounts and I need to cancel one of them.  where can I go to do this, I can't find anywhere on the itunes website to cancel my account

Stop using it.  Take your credit card info out of it.
No need to do anything else.
All purchases made from that account will still be tied to the account so you will have to authorize your computer to that account as well.
