2 external HD via hub

I have 2 Lacie HDs (both powered) and am trying to connect via USB (again, powered) to AX (latest model).
Only one at a time is recognized.
I've tried both drives, one at a time, and both (not together) are recognized by the AX.
Both drives via USB hub; never.
Both drives, again, one at a time, direct to AX works fine, so I'm assuming formatting isn't an issue.
Both drives, singularly, via USB hub; OK.
Tried different cables (USB) to no avail.
Anyone with the same, or similar, conditions?
Any help appreciated.

I've tried 3 diferent powered hubs:
A Ebay cheapo.
A "Newertech" from OWC. Thought this one would work.
An "APC" that I had on my wife's "Mini".
Still nothing.
Bob, you helped me before with this problem, suggesting that the original externals (Iomega and "cased" SATA, might be the problem.
Got another Lacie just like the original and thought that would work. Nope.
Didn't realize that USB hubs could have "firmware" issues.

Still has me baffeled.
Might have to go to a bigger single drive to fill my needs.
Now I wonder if I could use 2 differant printers through the hub.
Might try that to see if the hubs works with printers, just not externals.

Problem with T61 and DVI External Monitor (via Advanced Mini-Dock)

Ever since I upgraded to Vista SP1 on my ThinkPad T61 (with an Intel integrated 965 series graphics card), I've been having problems when I try to use an external monitor via the DVI port in my Advanced Mini-dock. I'm curious if other people have experienced this problem.
The problems surfaces when I first boot up, or sometimes after my ThinkPad has been running for awhile (particularly when I do something graphics related, such as right-clicking to open display properties). The picture starts to flicker (or disappear and reappear, like the screen does when changing graphics resolutions). I also hear the "ba-bum" sound that you hear when disconnecting a piece of hardware, followed by the "bum-ba" reconnection sound - these two sounds happen repeatedly (sometimes as fast as once per second). If I don't do anything, sometimes I'll get a bluescreen.
Not long ago, I found a fix of sorts: to stop the flickering/reconnecting, I just open Task Manager and stop the process called "igfxpers" (an Intel driver problem). The problem always disappears after I do this, although I have to remember to do it every time I reboot or else the problem comes back. So it's not an ideal fix.
This problem doesn't happen when I connect an external monitor using the analog VGA port, or when I'm just using the notebook LCD. It's limited to just the DVI connection. I've tried two different digital monitors (one LG, the other BenQ) as well as two DVI cables - the problem is still the same. So it seems like a driver problem of some sort - unfortunately, the Intel drivers haven't been updated since last February.
I should also note that I've tried reinstalling my OS two or three times, and the problem always comes back. Has anyone else had this problem, and is a fix on the way?

You will see this on an otherwise blank screen. Assuming that the data cable is plugged in correctly, the video card is feeding the monitor a signal stream in excess of what the monitor can accommodate. The two main causes for this are that the user has set either the resolution or the vertical frequency rate too high. For example, you might set a new graphics card to display at 1,280 x 1,024, but if the monitor is only capable of 1,024 x 768 resolution, you’ll get a Sync Out of Range error. This is especially common in 14-inch monitors.
Solution:
Because you obviously can’t make settings changes from within regular Windows, you’ll need to reboot into Windows Safe Mode. When you restart the system, there is a point during boot up when the system switches from reporting diagnostics and detected components to loading Windows. This point is usually accompanied by a beep and the screen going black. Just before this point, you want to start repeatedly pressing the F8 key. This should bring up a menu of Windows boot options. The one you want to pick is Safe Mode.
From Safe Mode right-click the Desktop and select Properties. Go to the Settings tab and use the slider to drop your resolution a notch or two. Reboot and let Windows try to go into Normal mode. If this still doesn’t work, go back into Safe Mode and get to the Settings tab of Display Properties. Click the Advanced button, go to the Monitor tab, and check your refresh rate. The lowest advisable rate is usually 60Hz, although this works better for LCDs (liquid-crystal displays) than CRTs (cathode ray tubes). Apply the change and reboot.

Mac Formatted Time Capsule w/ PC Formatted External Drive Via USB?

I use a Mac-formatted Time Capsule to run Time Machine backups on my MacBook Pro. My wife backs up her PC laptop on a PC-formatted Western Digital "My Book" hard drive which is powered via A/C wall adapter. I connected the Western Digital PC drive to the Time Capsule via USB so it would be available on our home network and my wife could run her PC backups wirelessly, BUT the drive is not showing up on our network. Anybody have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

The format of the disk connected to a NAS is totally irrelevant.. if it offers windows networking file protocol.. ie SMB then it can store files on the hard disk.. it is just like sharing the disk in the Mac.. you can write to that directly from the PC. Try it.. The disk is controlled by the Mac. But it presents SMB to the Network.. On your Mac, go to system preferences.. sharing.. it should be in Internet and wireless.. but on Lion I have no idea. Open file sharing which should be ticked..there should be a public folder by default.. you can add others.. go to options, turn on SMB.. then from the windows computer you should see the disk available in networking. If not fix the names to SMB standard.. you will need to do this on the TC as well.. short, no spaces.. pure alphanumeric names. Copy some files from windows to your Mac.. you have now copied to a network drive.. with the drive format totally irrelevant to your windows computer.
I'm sorry, but I don't know what "windows networking file protocol" and "SMB" mean. Also, when you say "NAS" are you referring to the Time Capsule or another device? Can you please explain things like "The disk is controlled by the Mac but it presents SMB to the network" in a less advanced way. Pretend I'm a child. You won't be far off. It seems like this technique you're explaining is a way for the windows PC to write to the external drive via my MacBook. Is that even close to correct? The setup I must create needs to work regardless if macbook is on/off/out of the house.
3) Does plugging a USB drive into the TC never work properly or is this just a semi-common problem that happens sometimes? My odds of success will probably dictate whether I try this or not. I already own the windows USB drive and would like to avoid buying more hardware if possible.
It is problematic enough that I recommend you try it before committing to it. Even if you have to copy the files off to another location and then reformat the drive. Test it for a couple of days.. the issue happens especially when you are using Lion.. but will also happen with windows. Especially when the disk spins down it will not spin up again and become available to the network.

If the TC dies, can't I just plug the windows USB drive directly into the windows laptop and it will be the same thing as connecting the drive and laptop via network? HFS+ is not windows native format... so files stored by the TC on the USB drive.. when the TC dies.. they all die eventually may be difficult to recover unless you plug it into another TC.. as the PC cannot natively read them. If you format FAT32 then the windows computer can read it.. just there are other issues. eg the disk can be slow.. very slow and it has far less protection. eg a power failure can corrupt the drive.. this was an issue before we moved in windows to NTFS.
Why do you say "files stored BY THE TC on the USB drive" Why is the TC storing files on the USB drive? Isn't plugging the USB into the TC just making the USB available on the network to my windows laptop? Why is the TC storing files?

Problems accessing iTunes media folder on external drive via Mac

I have recently got a Mac Book Pro and assumed it would be easy to access my iTunes library - which I store on a Buffalo external drive and normally access via my Asus vivobook laptop running windows 8 - by simplying plugging the external drive into the Mac Book Pro, opening iTunes while pressing on the Option key (as I understand it is called) and then selecting the iTunes library .itl file when invited to choose a library. However, when I do this, I get a message saying that "the .tl file is locked, on a locked disc or I do not have write permission for this file".
If I click on the .itl file in the external drive via my Mac, it takes me straight into iTunes but, of course, without any of the content of my iTunes media folder.
I can access the media on the external drive when it is plugged into my Mac and am not aware of ever having introduced any restrictions on the library .itl file (I normally switch the external hard drive between my Dell desktop and my Asus laptop).
I have restarted my Mac Book Pro and quite iTunes etc. I also have the media folder correctly identified on the external hard drive in my iTunes preferences, Advanced Settings.
I would be most grateful for any ideas as to what could be the problem here.

Get info on the drive. Check the format. If it says NTFS it is a format that Macs cannot write to, only read, unless you install special software. It is a common issue with using Windows drives on Macs. "Locked" may mean iTunes cannot open it for full use since it needs to write to the library file as well as read it.
Your solution may be to reformat the drive to something a Mac can use fully too, such as FAT (beware file size limits with large video files). or trying to work with a NTFS driver for Mac.

Why do I get error "The LDAP server is unavailable" while connecting to external domain via sync connection in SharePoint UPSA ?

If you have Two-Way trust relationship then not sure if you have tried below:
Create a folder on the SharePoint server
Go to Folder properties - Security tab
Try adding user of the external domain on the folder
Please let us know if you are able to add the user or not. If you are able to add then it means that the connection and trust is proper and you should be able to create sync connection in UPA without any issues or else there is some issue with the connectivity
or the trust which is configured.
Please also make sure that you have given permissions to sync account as per below TechNet:

Replicate Directory changes permissions are also required on cn=configuration container, below are the steps:
Grant Replicate Directory Changes permission on the cn=configuration container

On the domain controller, click Start, click Run, type adsiedit.msc, and then click OK.
If the Configuration node is not already present, do the following:

While theoretically possible, sometimes the camera people disable recording back to tape from the computer due to DRM (digital rights managment) issues. They will allow tape to tape transfers however.
Test your process first is all I can advise.

Qosmio G30 - external screen via HDMI connection - bad resolution

Hi! This problem is driving me crazy, please help if you can...
I have just bought a G30-102 and I'm trying to use it with an external screen via the HDMI connection. The problem I'm having is that the native resolution of 1920x1200 cuts off the edges of the desktop and the quality looks terrible - its almost like the whole screen is zoomed in. I tried this with a BenQ FP241wz at first (which is 1080i 1920x1200) and the Toshiba helpline couldn't find a solution either - even after painfully reinstalling all of the drivers etc.
Its been going on for so long, I thought that I would try it out with my HDTV instead, just to be sure it wasn't a monitor issue. So I tried it with my Toshiba 32WLT66 - and have just found that it has exactly the same problem.
All of the display settings appear to be correct and the G30 is convinced that the output is correct, so the question I have now is - do you think that its a problem with my HDMI port?
Please help, I'm a designer and it is essential that I use the machine on a large screen. If this is a problem with the G30 hardware I need to talk to Toshiba immediately about replacing or fixing it.

If you have already ABAP programs /BAPI's in place then try to develop RFC interface and write some back ground programs to scheudl BAPI's and develop scenario but you need to implement error handling , data validation in PI mapping level.

if you are dealing with master data bit risky(correctness) but can be achived using PI.

Datamart management from cube to external system via XI

Dear All,
I upload data to another external system via XI from an infocube.
Data upload is done with delta update to the cube, also, deltas going to the external system.,,
I have two cubes. One of them is filled with deltas by transformation (i.e 7.0 property). But other is filled with update rules (i.e 3.5 property)..
when i click on data mart status on the cube that filles with 3.5 property nothing happens. No pop-up screen opens for me to delete the datamart status of the cube.
However, when i click on the cube that filles with 7.0 property, a pop-up screen opens for me to reset last delta.
Can you please advise?

Adding Proxy Servers
Use the Summary of Proxy Servers page to add and configure Proxy Server resources and make them available in Oracle Service Bus as a system resource. You must be in an active session to configure or reconfigure Proxy Server resources.
1. If you have not already done so, click Create to create a new session or click Edit to enter an existing session. See Using the Change Center.

4. In the Name field, enter a name for the Proxy Server resource. This is a required field.

Essbase External Security via Shared Services

I have hit a problem with essbase external security via shared services, might be fairly trivial, first time doing this.
In the install guide for essbase 9.3.1 it mentions not to use the user 'admin' when firing up essbase server console mode for the first time if you intend to externalise security to shared services in the future.
I have followed this recommendation and used a different username 'essadmin' for the first time essbase server is started up. While still in native security mode, I sign in via EAS 9.3.1 and create myself another admin account just in case.
I cold backup shared services SQL repository and OpenLDAP repositry before externalising essbase security. Also I backup the essbase sec and cfg files just in case.
Then I start it all up, go into EAS and select to externalise security, this takes a few seconds, and all seems well.
Now in shared services I can see the essadmin user ID and everything appears to be OK. However when I look under the projects node, I see "Analytic Servers:myhost:1", then below that another green icon "Analytic Servers:myhost:1", but when I click on the second green icon I get "Login fails due to invalid login credentials".
What have I done wrong ?

I don't think you've done anything wrong. You just need to provision your shared services user with access to Essbase. Right-click on your user, select provision and then give them the required Essbase rights.

USB2 powered external 4 port hub shuts down my notebook???!!!

Hi to all, first time user of this forum.
I recently bought a Satellite P505D-S8930 notebook and it works great, however, I needed more USB2 ports so I bought an externally powered 4 port hub. The hub works great but when I close the lid on my notebook the whole system shuts down rather than the notebook going into sleep mode. I open the lid again and the notebook is dead!! Pressing the ON button doesn't even wake the notebook up. I actually have to unplug the external hub, take the battery out and then put it back in, and then wait approx. 5 minutes before the notebook will power back up again. I decided not to use the external hub and see if there were any problems and the notebook works like new. I also noticed the battery had drained whilst the external hub was plugged in and the notebook was in sleep mode. Anyone got any ideas why this is happening?? And is there an external multiport USB2 hub that is specifically good for our Toshiba notebooks??? Very eager to find out if anyone else has had this sort of problem. Try this. Open Device Manager (devmgmt.msc), expand Universal Serial Bus controllers, right-click on a USB Root Hub, click Properties, and look on the Power Management tab.
If there's a setting like this, uncheck it.
Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
You may need to play around with these a bit.

Starting external programms via SAP XI

Hello everybody,
is it possible to start external programms via SAP XI?
I have following scenario:
A user in a webapplication should approve a process. Then a file which is on a fileserver should be encrypted und should be sent via ISDN (external programms are responsible for this doing).
Can SAP XI handle this requirement? Does it make sense? Or should the webapplication starts this programms without SAP XI?
