2 GB Ipod Nano HELP with OTHER SPACE

I have 694 mb of audio/song space used on my ipod. The "other" space takes up over 680mb of this space. I only have 185 songs on my ipod of the possible 500 yet there is not enough free space to put that many songs on it. Could somebody please tell me what the Other Space is and how to get rid of it? It cant be just the settings...
Help pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Ipod nano help with syncing music to new computer?

I have two ipod nanos, one 6th gen. the other 7th gen, and the laptop I had all the music on and synced from cant be accessed anymore, so how can I get the music onto a different computer and be able to sync new music to them?

Thanks!  I did it again using my iPod again.  (I couldn't find an external drive large enough)
What am I supposed to do with the iTunes folder that is now on my desktop from the step below:
    Copy music to new computer
To copy all your music files (including the library file that holds all your playlists and other settings) to your new computer:
Locate your Music folder (Mac OS X) or your My Music folder (Windows) on your new computer:
    Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music
    Windows: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
Drag the iTunes folder in this location out to the desktop.
    Can I just delete that?

  • Ipod Nano Help with what is possibly wrong!

I will try to explain what has happened in the last 2 days so you can possibly diagnose the problem. Thanks
Yesterday August 10 I plugged my Ipod into an ipod charger I have never used produced by Panasonic. It was a universal attachment for both ipods and cell phones and there where warning labels to connect the USB attachment correctly else it could create reverse polarity. I did not notice the lable when I connected my ipod usb into it and than the other end into my ipod. I was wondering why it wasnt charging and then i noticed the label. I thought that it ruined my ipod right there burning out the circuity. So I decided to plug it into a different ipod FM/Charger adapter to see if it would charge. It did and i was relieved and it charged for about an hour. I listened to it for about 10min than went to bed.
Next day: I did not touch it until later today (august 11) when i noticed it would not turn on. I tryed to charge it with the Panasonic Ipod charger and it did nothing. When I got back home i attached it to the computer via the usual USB cable and tried to charge it and nothing happened and then connected it to an ipod boombox type dock and it allowed me to acess and listen to music. I allowed it to sit there for about 30min to see if it would hold a charge and once i removed it, it had very little charge. I hurried and connected it to my pc and it began to charge through the USB but when I ran a diagonstics check it said that the ipod connection status failed and the ipod did not show up in "my Computer."
So basically I believe that the battery is shot do to the reverse polarity but does anyone know if there is a safety on the ipod since it worked after I did that? Or anything else i should try!
    Thanks

I've stopped and started the service, and also have performed cold reboots.
Nothing seems to have helped the situation.

    Hello Lisa,
Double check your iPod's sync settings from under it's TV Shows tab in iTunes.  Make sure it is not set up to sync only unwatched episodes.

  • I purchased an used iPod nano 4th with many many songs on it,but when i hooked the usb cable to try and change the name, something went wrong.i had to reset it,thinking my music would still be there, but i lost everything! Is there any way to get these back

I purchased an used iPod Nano 4th.with many, many, many songs and albums on it,but when i plugged the usb cable into my laptop(i am a new comer to computer) i thought i was changing the name and thought i was syncing but something went wrong and everything was gone! is there any way possible to get these back? Please I need Help!!! Thank you!

Was the music purchased via your iTunes account and/or did you buy it from other sources or copy it from your own CDs, or did the music belong to the previous owner ? If the music was yours then you can sync it back to the iPod via your computer's iTunes. If the music is not still on your computer then have you got a backup of it ? If not then for iTunes purchases you might be able to re-download it depending on which country you are in. If the music was put on the iPod by the previous owner then you will need to buy your own copies of it.

  • Does ipod nano work with ipod photo dock, s-video out?

Does the ipod nano work with the ipod photo dock, with an s-video out? Will apple make one for the nano specifically?

The iPod nano cannot show photos on an external device, I suspect Apple have not built this feature into the hardware. The options for showing to a TV are not in the photo menus either.

  • Is new software around for Ipod Nano 5G with the Nike sensor and Polar wearlink HeartRateMonitor to get spoken feedback on heartrate-zone, so you get a warning if your heartrate is higher or lower than the predefined range.

    I have:
Ipod Nano 5G with Nike+ sensor and Polar wearlink Heartrate monitor:
works fine, linking is easy, but....
Software is rather minimal: Heartrate is on the screen and you get feedback when the center-button is touched.
To get better results, more functions would be useful, like defining a heartrate zone (like Polar`s own-zone) and automatic spoken feedback if the heartrate is out of the pre-defined range. Also automatic spoken feedback on actual and average heartrate every pre-defined time-interval would be very useful: like the spoken feedback on distance and actual pace I get on my Iphone with Nike+GPS
    Anyone have any suggestions ?

I have the same issue! I purchased a nano 6th, polar hrm so I could run and receive spoken feedback when my heart rate was outside my preset zone.  My suunto t3 used to beep when outside the preset zones.  Automatic, periodic beeps or spoken feedback is the most important information to receive during exercise. I hope apple can update the software to add this simple yet critical feature.
