2 ID's (Email Addresses), 1 Email now Non-Existant.....Help

So a few years ago, we had one email address that was my user ID and that apps were downloaded to. Then I got a new phone, cancelled that email provider (not thinking about my phone and itunes) and signed up with Gmail, therefore giving myself a new email address, new phone now, and therefore a new Apple ID. I started using my phone, syncing it with the new Itunes under my new ID (forgetting about the old one) and all was good. Then my husband used his laptop that had the old ID (Old Email address info) still within his itunes and sync'd my new phone, thinking this would put my old app purchases on here from my old ID with the new app purchases from my new ID. My phone has been screwed up ever since.
Now when I got to my phone's App Store to update Apps, one ID will pop up and I download those apps updates, no problem. That would be my current and newest ID (the working Gmail acct). Then it comes time for my old apps (which by the way did merge and make it onto my phone somehow) to update so then my old Apple ID pops up asking for a password. I have no clue what that is. I try to retrieve it with birthdate and that doesn't work with anyone in the family. I try by answering security questions and no go either. I can't do anything with email because that acct is dead.
I guess my question becomes, how can I cancel or have cancelled the old acct all together and have all those apps from the old acct moved to my new acct so I can not be bothered with this crap any longer? I mean really? Apple makes things pretty difficult when you screw up; and sometimes even when you don't.
If anyone could help, that would be extremely appreciated.

i have the same issue with having 2 email addresses and only one being valid. the current apple id somehow is linked to my old music too. not sure how when i have not used that original email in over 5 years. i can no long access it either. you should try going to appleid website directly, not from your phone to reset the email if it will let you. i have tried, but it will not link to my current still valid email from my old email. i keep getting messages that my computer needs to authorize the song i'm trying to play the music on...good luck!

Changed my Apple ID email, but ICloud does not recognize my new login, only my old one (which is now non-existent) and requires the password to do anything. Everytime I go onto the ICloud page it shows my old email and requires the password, but I can't exactly type in a password because that won't work. I can't find a way to change my email or delete ICloud.

If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

Tools menu (ALt+T) > add-ons and select check for updates for the add-on. It probably missed the boat somewhere along the line.

IPhone 5 email using non-existent outgoing mail server.

I've had my work email address on my iPhone 5 running IOS 8.1 for about a year. Yesterday I tried to reply to an email and received the message: Cannot Send Mail. The user name or password for "*****account*****" is incorrect.
The account referenced above was from an old job, and has been deleted from my phone.
I've tried deleting, restarting, and re-entering my email parameters. Still getting the error message.
Any ideas?

IPhone 4 showing 662 unread emails but non exist!!

After upgrading to ios7 (BIG mistake, it is horrible, icons look like a child has designed them and the colour scheme is terrible) one of my email accounts is showing 662 unread emails but there are non there.
I have tried switching the account of, rebooting then back on again as I read on the forum but it didn't work.
Any ideas?

Found the solution and it was really simple.
When you do actually have a new mail in the mailbox go to edit>select all> mark as unread
Then go back and edit again, this time select all>mark as read
And the notification of 662 unread mails dissapeared:)

Aero Glass is now non-existant!!!

This post was about having updated the primary email address on an iTunes account via a computer - if you do that you might need to log out of the account on an iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in with the updated version of the account for that email address change to be recognised on your iPad. If you don't log out and back in then an iPad (or iPhone or iPod Touch) might continue to show the old version of the iTunes account id.

Apple does not transfer content bought with one Apple ID to another Apple ID. Apple will not merge two Apple IDs.
If most of your content was bought with the Yahoo! Apple ID but you now want the Gmail address for your Apple ID, the trick will be to change the address used for the Yahoo ID with the Gmail address. However, to do that you must first free the Gmail address from that other Apple ID. Use the instructions from Apple to substitute another address that is not used as an Apple ID for your Gmail address in the Apple ID with the Gmail address. Then, when the Gmail address is no longer used in an Apple ID, you can use the same instructions to substitute the Gmail address for the Yahoo address in the Apple ID with the Yahoo address.

Each email address can only be on one iTunes account, and all purchases are tied to the account that buys them. If you want to have separate iTunes accounts on each then you will need separate email accounts for each iTunes account

You might want to try contacting Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click See All Products and Services>iTunes>iTunes Store>Passwords & Security Questions>Lost or Forgotten Apple ID password. They should be able to explain what's going on and help you reset the password for the old ID if necessary. The call should be free.

If you are trying to change the iCloud ID on yoru phone from an old ID ("email address") to your current ID, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
