2 iphone 4s on the 1 itunes account

Hi I have 2 iphone 4s that are sharing the same itunes account, one is mine and the other is my nieces. The problem I'm having is that everytime she texts me or any other iphone my email address comes up instead of where her name should be. Why is that? and how do I stop that or change it back to her name?

Since you are sharing the same iTunes account/Apple ID, what does she have selected for her iMessage Caller ID on her iPhone at Settings > Messages > Receive At > Caller ID?

It wasn't my phone, hence the reason we didn't want to share/take each other's content (apps, contacts, music, photos, etc.). But the owner's phone hadn't been able to update because of a computer crash/no access to a stable computer. So, I just wasn't sure if we could do an update without sharing content.

If underage and not i)S on all devices then you have to create an ID for here under your name and supervise it use:
Create a NEW account using these instructions so yo do not have to use a credit card.
Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

No. Purchase always remain with the account they were purchased with.

No. If you connect his phone to your iTunes account/computer, ALL iTunes content on his phone will be erased. By design, iPhone syncs or manually manages iTunes content with ONE computer at a time.

Yes. Sign in to the iTunes Store with the same Apple ID you used to buy the music in settings on the phone.
Then tap on "purchased" in the iTunes app on the phone and download the music to your new iPhone.

Can I connect two iPhones to two different iTunes account on the same iMac?

I have one (1) iMac and two (2) iPhones and two (2) iPads...
I have set up two (2) login accounts on the same iMac... one for myself and another for my wife.
Likewise I have setup iTunes account for myself and for my wife in both the logins... the problem occurs when I try and sync my wife's iPhone to her version of the iTunes...
By the way I have authorised the same iMac with both the iTunes account so that me and my wife can have a individual setups and not mess with each others apps / music.
Any help would be welcome.

Each iTunes account is linked to a different Apple ID. Setup one iPhone with the Apple ID for your wife and the other with the Apple ID for yourself. Then sync the iPhones to their respective login/iTunes accounts on the Mac.

You can't reset it. If you don't konw the password then you can't use that backup

I would like to change the account I have linked to my phone, so my son can use the iTunes account I currently have (Since we had it when he had an iTouch, and all his paid apps are on it.) I was just wondering if I created a new iTunes account, if the apps I have installed to the phone would uninstall if I logged out, and logged into a new account.

They won't uninstall even if you change accounts. However, you may not be able to update them while signed in to a different accoutn than the one who purhcased the apps.

Thanks for the reply. I did think that could be the case but then other books would also show up as apps on phone but not counted as an app. Maybe book apps downloaded from the app store work in this way whereas books bought from the ibooks app show in ibooks and not as apps.
I guess that would make sense, it must be because they are books but downloaded from the app store rather than the book store so they are visible as an app but don't actually get counted as an app.
Would you think that's the case too?

I let my ex keep my Apple ID as he had purchased a large amount of music, so he uses it on his Iphone and computer, and I started a new account on my Iphone, and I'd like to use that one on my computer, but I can't figure out how to log out of my old Apple ID and use the new one.

If the desired iTunes library is in a different Mac OS X user account, choose to log out from the Apple menu and then log in.
If the desired iTunes library is in the same Mac OS X user account, launch iTunes with the Option key held down and specify it.

If you enabled Find my iPhone then you should use that. If not, I'm afraid you're out of luck for finding it.
To manage your devices, go to Your Account in iTunes.
