2 iphones & 1 macbookair

hi, i am new to this icloud stuff, i just got a macbook air, my wife and i each have an iphone5,
i am trying to figger out how to use both icloud accounts on the one mac.
in particular, we wanna download photos from the photo stream , in order to free up the backup storage space on th icloud !
any advice,,?!

You can set up separate user accounts for each of you on your Mac, then each sign into your iCloud account within your user account.
Also, photo stream photos are not stored in your iCloud account and are not included in your iCloud backup (only camera roll photos are). Deleting them will not free up storage in your account. IP Address Conflict error - help please

Hello. I have read many related threads but to no avail for fixing my problem.
I have a home wireless network. It worked flawlessly until a few days ago, and now I'm having problems. When I noticed I was having problems, I opened airport utility, and it prompted me to upgrade my routers to 7.6.1, which I did, but the problems still exist (and I believe they did before the upgrade).
I'm having two problems, maybe related or not
* my wife's iPhone cannot connect to the network anymore
* my MacBook Air cannot connect anymore, and occasional shows an error: "another device on the network is using your computer's IP address".
Other computers -- my iMac, my iPhone, my iPad -- seem to still connect with no issues
Steps I have taken:
* reboot router
* reboot iPhone
* reboot MacBookAir
* Per community issues with 7.6.1, I did a hard factory reset on the airport extreme, then downloaded Airport Utility 5.6 and used it to roll back the firmware to 7.5.2
* Tried opening network prefs on the MBA, and renewing lease. No IP address is displayed before or after, as I think it doesn't have a lease to renew
* Confirmed that Configure IPv4 is set to "Using DHCP"
* Changed the name of the wireless network
* Tried unsecuring the wireless network
* Changed the channel of the wireless network
* Tried specifying a manual IP addrss in the same range for the MBA
None of these things has been effective in getting to the network -- something I had no issues with until a few days ago. Also, with the MBA, I can still connect to other wireless networks per usual.
Any ideas?

After Mountain Lion install, Mail does not import

I installed Mountain Lion over a clean installation of Lion. All went well. Entered my AppleID and password, which work fine on my iPhone and MacBookAir. Mail 6.0 (iCloud server) does not import my old mail. iCal and Contacts imported fine. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Under what circumstances does mail "not leave the mails on the server"?
If you mean that you delete them (or move them out of the inbox) on one device and then find them not in the inbox on the server when you look from another device, that's how IMAP is supposed to work. (Note that the deletion or moving might be the result of rules you have set up in Mail.)
If you mean something else, please explain your issue in more detail.

IPad mini will connect to wifi WAN, but not wifi LAN?

Connecting to Sierra Hotspot, mini will only stay connected with Internet access turned on: won't connect to wifi LAN without internet access? iPad and even iPhone and MacBookAir have no problem... The mini redirects me to turn-on the Internet network when trying to connect to the wifi, and this isn't always necessary or available, and it won't allow me to do anything else until the "Internet connection issue is resolved".
I've tried all of the usual things: reseting the iPad mini, various connection techniques, even an AirPort Express bridge...

This was resolved by entering network setting manually.

Hi Rosdy, to get the most out of iCloud it is recommended that you use the same account between devices. Thus whenever you buy something on your phone it becomes accessible from your laptop regardless of whether your synced it over usb or not. *

How can I take my iPhone & iPad backups from my iMac at home with me while travelling using my Macbookair (128Gb SSD) with an ext. HD? I want to continue to back up my devices including those of my wife while travelling without using the cloud and not returing home for several weeks.

You can use any Mac with a recent copy of iTunes to back up an iPhone or iPad. It doesn't have to be the one you usually synch with, so long as you don't let it try to do a synch.
Just take fresh backups on the MBA. As for how to get the backups onto the external drive, I'll have to leave that to others; I've never tried.

Connect the iPhone via the USB cable to the MacBook Air. The iPhone will be seen as a camera and you can transfer the photos.

Can't get photos in iPhone 5C to connect with my MacbookAir through photo stream

I have the new iPhone 5C and I have always needed to download my photos onto my Macbook Air mid-2013 by plugging it in witht the USB cord. I want to use the Photo stream feature, but my mac and my phone don't seem to recognize each other as iOS devices and Photostream is turned on on both. I can't even get them to connect by AirDrop. Is this a problem with iCloud's photostream or is it a device problem? If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Your Mac will recognize your phone as a digital camera when you connect it with your usb cable.
Make sure you signed into the same iCloud account in Settings>iCloud on your phone, and System Preferences>iCloud on your Mac, turned on My Photo Stream in Settings>iCloud>Photos on your phone, checked Photos in System Preferences>iCloud and checked My Photo Steam in iPhoto>Preferences>iCloud.
Do you have these set correctly?
Also, AirDrop currently does not support iOS to OS X transfers.

Just started using MackBook Air, love it. Can someone guide me please. When i send an email from MacBook Air, it does not appear in the "Sent" folder on the iphone or other computer?
How can i fix this issue, so that whatever email i send using yahoo or etc, appears on all, ie MacBook Air, iphone, windows.

That will happen under two conditions:
You have an IMAP mail account, such as iCloud.
You select the option to store sent messages on the server in the account settings.

Cannot download purchased app on macbookair and iphone 5

I cannot download purchased apps such as keynote, numbers and pages on my macbook air and couldn't download these as well including purchased whats app on my iphone. Pelase help.
When I clicked on the 'purchases' tab in itunes store, it says no apps purchased. BUT when i checked purchased items, there it lists all the items i purchased.
I went to itunes and tried to purchase whats app once more using macbook air, there it says 'downloaded' but nowhere to be found. This confused me.
I have contacted i tunes store many times byt they couldn't help me.

Usually this means that you have more than one iTunes account, and you are logged in to the wrong account (or a different account than the one the apps were purchased with).

Shared calendars are showing up on iPad and iPhone but not on iCloud or her new MacbookAir, any suggestions?

I just got my wife a Macbook air, and cannot figure out why our shared calendars work with both of our Ipads and Iphones, on my icloud account but not her account or her new air.

Using a DLinkVWR (Vonage enabled) router, I just secured the home WiFi with a WEP password. No problem in establishing a WiFi connection on my MacBook Air (OS Mountain Lion 10.8.2) or with my iPhone using iOS6. They both accepted the password and connected directly.
Not so with my wife's MacBook Pro, using the latest version of Lion, 10.7.5. It can find the WiFi, but upon attempting to connect, the alert is shown that there is no internet connection. This is unique to this MacBook Pro. The drop down menu shows the router checked and 4 bars, but the Alert remains: No Internet Connection.
What am I doing wrong? This MacBook Pro connected without problem before I secured the router.

WEP as a security measure is laughable nowadays. Even a kindergarten kid with a netbook can crack the password in a few minutes. Try using WPA2 if available on the device. And the Macs will be quite happy connecting with that protocol.
