2 iphones + 1 nano

just converted to the Mac & was looking for some help here.
I would like to use the Macbook as the primary laptop to sync with both my wife's iphone and mine
I have already synced mine with the Macbook, and am trying to do the same for my wife's
Tried doing so and was prompted upon connection that the contents will be erased on her phone.
Can anyone share with me what possible ways can be done to sync 2 iphones on the same Macbook?
Thanks

configure iTunes to manage content manually: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone.
to prevent a sync when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - hold down the option and the command ( on a PC that would be the shift and ctrl ) keys when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - keep pressing the keys until the iPod is listed under the devices list in iTunes.
this will be helpful, too: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495?viewlocale=en_US

how can i import contacts from my regular sim to iphone 5 (nano sim)

Sync the phone with the regular sim to the appropriate program on your
computer. When you set up the iPhone 5 in iTunes on that computer, you
will be offered the chance to import the contacts, etc.
Or take old phone and new iPhone to your wireless provider. They have the
    equipment to do this quickly.

All I can say is that I REALLY like my Touch 4th gen because I have all sorts of capabilities in a small form: e-mail, web browsing, news, weather, books, magazines, etc. etc.  Plus lots and lots of apps out there, including so many free ones.  I use the Cloud a lot so it's great to have everything sync'd to my MacBookPro (e-mail, Evernote, Pocket, etc.)
It would be easier, though, to do some of this, especially magazines, on the iPad mini, but, again, I love the small size of the Touch.
As for the 5th gen instead of the 4th, the fifth has Siri and the 3D feature in maps, which are great.  And I'm sure it's a lot faster in iOS 6 than the 4th gen.  And cool colors!
    Don't know if this helps . . .

  • Can only move audio to iphone OR nano ...

Unless I delete my SC Info folder and reboot my PC each time, I can only move ituens purchassed audio files (music/audiobooks) to EITHER my iphone 3gs 32gb OR my nano (1st Gen 4gb). Trying the other device (after authenticating to itues with the first one) gets me back into the reauthentication loop until I delete sc info again ...
I'm on Win7, latest itunes (confirmed uninstall followed by fresh install) and latest s/w on both the iphone and nano. Transferring podcasts and audible.co.uk items works fine on either or with both plugged in simultaneously.
I've tried deleting sc info and then plugging BOTH devices in - but it only recognises one - and WILL then move files to the other, but only when the originally recognised device is plugged in.
Any ideas how I can get itunes to allow me to move itunes audio to either of my devices without having to delete the sc info folder and/or plug the other device in?
    Many thanks,
    Chinski
ps - imagine the pain I was in before I discovered the "delete sc info folder" thing!

not sure if it works with appletv's but not sure what use it would be to use it from one as it don't not have any music stored on itself
but you should check the app in app store called airfoil speakers touch that should at least make it work from a computer to the iphone

  • Could any one tell me nano sim can be cut from Normal sim like micro sim. I heard new iPhone uses nano sim

    Hi All,
My friend told me he will get unlocked new iPhone on first week of launch .He is in Canada and i am in India. I heard new iPhone features nano sim. It is possible to cut nano sim from normal sim like we do for micro sim. iPhone releases in India only in November so if we cant get nano sim  from normal sim , then i have to postponed my new iPhone purchase

No one here knows Apple's plans regarding any new iPhone & what type of sim that phone may or may not use. As to whether a Mico sim can be cut down to Nano size, the answer is yes. I suspect cutters will appear on the market shortly after such is released.
The real question you should be asking is why, if you live India, are you looking to purchase an iPhone anywhere else other than India. iPhone warranty & support is country specific, only valid in country of original purchase. You purchase an iPhone in Canada, you prepared to physically bring the phone back to Canada for ALL warranty & support issues? You can't mail it back to Apple. Makes no sense to me.

  • IPhone and Nano syncing...

I currently have my iPhone synced to my laptop, and my nano synced to another laptop.
I am now wishing to get rid of the iphone and the old laptop, and wondering if I will be able to easily sync my nano to my new laptop with little bother?
If I remember correctly, I can put the music on my nano onto the current laptop or vice versa - is this correct?
When I synced my iPhone with this laptop, I'm sure I saw something about it being my 4th authorised computer - will that have implications for my nano or the person why buys my iPhone?
Many thanks in advance for any helpful answers!

    Hello Lou1985,
If I remember correctly, I can put the music on my nano onto the current laptop or vice versa - is this correct?
Yes, you can copy the music from your iPod to your computer
When I synced my iPhone with this laptop, I'm sure I saw something about it being my 4th authorized computer - will that have implications for my nano or the person why buys my iPhone?
No. This is referring to the number of computers you have authorized to play your iTunes content. The limit is 5. All you will have to do with the Nano is copy the music currently on it to your computer and then restore it, so you can sync all the old back to it plus any new content.
And as long as you restore the iPhone, whoever purchases it from you should have no problems.
    Hope this helps.

  • Ipod touch / iphone / ipod nano won't connect to iTunes (not recognized)

Up until yesterday everything was working fine. But now when I connect my ipod touch, iphons (1st), or ipod nano to iTunes, my PC recognizes them (show up in Windows Explorer), but iTunes does not recognize them anymore.
    I don't know what changed.
    I have reset all devices.
I have completely removed and reinstalled iTunes. (I've tried iTunes 10.5.1 and 10.5.2)
I have shut down and rebooted the PC (several times).
I have tried different USB ports and different cables.
My Windows 7x64 is fully updated.
Does anyone know how to help?

Sorry, I followed both guides and uninstalled everything - rebooted, reinstalled iTunes like your second link instructions said.
PC sees all devices fine in Windows Explorer (and makes the pling sound when I connect them, they just do not show up in iTunes.
(ipod nano, ipod touch 32GB, iphone 1st gen, ipad 1st gen)
Manually starting or restarting all itunes/ipod related services doesn't do a thing either, nothing will sync.
    I'm at a loss.

  • IPhone syncs, nano won't

Is there something different about the code in iTunes that syncs a nano, relative to that which syncs an iPhone? My iPhone 2G syncs reliably, but every time I try to sync the new purple 8gb nano I bought for my fiancee, my computer (XP, SP2) hangs.
I have the nano directly connected to a USB port on a PCI card with an NEC chipset and correct drivers.
I have restored the nano within iTunes (didn't help) and by formatting the nano's drive in Windows then restoring (synced one podcast episode, then froze when I tried an album).
This is a hard freeze- no CTRL-ALT-DEL possible, required a hard reset to reboot the PC.

I spoke too soon. Itunes wouldn't sync a 60-song playlist to the nano ths morning without my computer freezeing. The same playlist syncs just fine to the phone. XPSP3 didn't resolve the issue, but installing it ate half my morning. I split the playlist into 4 10-5 song lists, which I was able to sync to the nano, one at a time. What a pain.

  • Can I use my iPhone 5 nano Sim in my iPhone 4?

I broke my iPhone 5.  My 6 plus isn't due for 2 weeks.  Can I take the nano sim from my 5 and with an adapter put in it in my 4?
Is the adapter something a Verizon store would have?

    Tried that and got:

  • New Sprint iPhone 5 nano SIM - is it removable?

Does anyone know for certain if the Sprint iPhone will have a removeable nano SIM (like the 4S has a removable micro SIM)?  I had read some rumors that it would be non-removeable, which means any world roaming would incur huge roaming charges to Sprint, as opposed to popping in a SIM from another carrier.

Thank you!! I knew they were the same size, but I just called again to a different rep who said the same thing- they are not interchangeable (she said flat out that if I put the nano sim from my iPhone 5s into the Moto X it will not work or be able to activate)... She couldn't explain exactly why except that "Apple" nano sims are singular and don't work in other devices.
I hope you are right and wouldn't mind the voicemail thing as long as I could interchange them easily :)
Thanks again! I am wondering if anyone has tried it?

  • IPhone & iPod Nano 3G - Vista Home Premium

    Hi
I'm having trouble syncing both my iPhone & iPod, am I to assume you cannot have both sharing the same library? Thanks for any help given.
    sewnot

You can sync multiple devices to a single library, I sync three different iPods to mine. If you post details someone may be able to help. If there are any particular error messages or issues, you might get more appropriate advice from either the iPod or iPhone forums

  • Verizon iPhone 4 & Nano 5G - interchange chargers, USB cables, & earbuds?

After Googling around, I'm confused about whether I can safely:
    - use the Apple-supplied Nano5g USB cable to sync & charge my (Verizon) iPhone4?
    - use the Apple-supplied Verizon iPhone4 cable/wall charger to charge my Nano5g from an AC receptacle?
    - use a 3rd party "made for iPhone" car charger with my Nano5g?
This seems like the best place to get an accurate answer.

use the Apple-supplied Nano5g USB cable to sync & charge my (Verizon) iPhone4?
    Yes.
use the Apple-supplied Verizon iPhone4 cable/wall charger to charge my Nano5g from an AC receptacle?
    Yes.
use a 3rd party "made for iPhone" car charger with my Nano5g?
    Should work fine.

  • Audio Clarity: iPad 3 vs. iPhone 4 vs. Nano 3/4

've got 2 pairs of CX880 Sennheiser in-ear headphones. One with a broken left speaker, the other speaker is working completely normal. The other headphone is in mint condition. The working speaker is absolutely normal. I'm testing 2 devices at the same time, alternating the speakers and headphones (stereo reasons)
These CX880 Sennheisers aren't $30 junk although they aren't professional headsets.
    EQ used: Acoustic
I'd rank these devices in terms of audio quality in this way.
    Acoustic (Bass vs. Sound Clarity)
    Bass
    Clarity
    1. Nano 4 (VERY punchy and strong bass)
    1. Nano 3 (crisp, clear vocal reproduction, 'hi' instruments can be heard clearly')
    2. iPhone 4 & Nano 3 (Very close performance, strong bass)
    2. Nano 4 (crisp, clear vocal reproduction, 'hi' instruments can be heard clearly)
    3.-
    3. iPhone 4 (very good, clear vocal reproduction, 'hi' instruments can be heard clearly)
    4. New iPad (Strong bass, more mid than other devices)
    4. New iPad (vocals sounded like muck)
Why I conducted this test? I never played real racing 2 on phone until recently. The usual device used for entertainment & games was the New iPad. I always thought the game SFX sounds like it was produced from tin and thought it was the game developers. I've just tried Real Racing 2 on my iPhone 4 and to my horror, it sounded so much better. Then I decided to find my previous iPods for audio quality comparisons, the Nano 3 & 4 were working so I included them.
    Conclusion
Clarity with acoustic, a high-bass EQ preset differs amongst the listed devices. In general, these devices fared pretty well in clarity when their bass was turned from flat to Acoustic, very audible. The Nano 3 & 4 stood very closely in terms of clarity, the iPhone wasn't as good but its still very acceptable. Nano 4 had very punchy bass and some people do like the strong punchy sounds, despite the strong bass, audio quality is maintained. I'd say more people would go with the sound produced on the Nano 3 or iPhone 4.
However the device that stood out like a sore thumb to me was the New iPad!!! Comparing how audible these devices are, the New iPad isn't even crisp... At first, it sounded pretty normal on a flat EQ. However when I amped up its EQ... I could have gotten the crap sound it produced through the CX880 on a cheap $30 dollar super high bass earpieces with poor vocal clarity while on my previous devices!
This is such a disgrace in my opinion. Why is the New iPad's audio quality so poor???
    Anybody has views on this?

Hi James, you posted your opinion on sound quality and that was what I was looking for. Appreciate the reply. But what were the headphones you used?
On what I've said on "muck", it was basically muffled vocals after the Acoustic EQ was turns up. Normal to deep men vocals were experiencing poorer qualities the most.
My in ears are a pair of Bose IEs. The original model not the current. VERY pleased with them. I've also had a pair of Seenheiser 280s on the iPad (borrowed) and had no issues. Sounded great.  Also routinely route to the sterio suing the a run of the mill splitter. Stereo systems are both quite old and a combination of Bose and Sony equipment. I do NOT tend to use the EQ settings and have not noted any issues with vocal quality. Music collection runs the gamut from classical to jazz to alternative to rock etc.
I have found with ripped CDs, there is a substantial quality difference if use a bit rate of at least 256. I tend to use 320.
