2 iphones 2 apple id's 1 computer

Hi all,
I've got a bit of a problem and not sure what the solution is...
My wife and I both have iPhones, and we both have our own Apple ID's. We both use my MacBook to sync the phones. Currently we have our own user accounts on the MacBook so we have separate iTunes libraries, however this doesn't work very well.
Currently if I buy music on my iTunes account I have no idea how I then get that to appear in my wife's iTunes (I can do it with music I've imported from CD's), and then be able to sync it to her phone without having to pay for it twice. I'm thinking I might be better off deleting her user account on the Mac, just have one account, with one iTunes library. Will I then be able to sync both phones with the one library even though we have separate Apple ID's? And will I be able to share music bought with one iTunes account on both phones even though we have our own separate Apple ID's?
Basically, I don't want us to have seperate music collections and I want us to be able to share one iTunes library, but both purcahse music individually with our own Apple ID's and both be able to listen to each others purchased music.
I like buying my music from the Apple Store but if I can't figure out a way of sharing the music one of us buys then I'll have to go back to buying CD's and ripping them!
Thanks for your help!
Tom
