2 iphones and an ipod

K, I have two iphones and an Ipod, do I have to set up itunes on 3 different computers to load music to each device?
If so how do I delete itunes from our main computer as it syncs with a iphone and I want it to sync with our Ipod?

Hi Lauracll
As far as I am aware you cannot split, or use separately. What are you trying to archive by trying to have one Apple ID, but separate? Maybe if you can mention what your aim is, there could be a suggested solution.

  • The difference between an iphone and an ipod touch?

i want to know if the difference between an iphone and an ipod touch is just that the iphone is like a phone that has internet and is a phone. or what else is it?

The iPhone includes the same as an iPod Touch but also includes a phone, a camera, and a GPS radio.
In addition to having internet access via wi-fi, the iPhone also has internet access via the cellular network, so as long as you have cellular reception with the iPhone, you have access to the internet in addition to having access via an available wi-fi network.

  • I have an iPhone and an iPod with the same iCloud/Apple ID but I don't want have the same stuff on them?

Ok so I have an iPhone and an iPod which share the same iCloud/appleID. I did this today when I got my new iPhone I put in my iCloud details which put everything I had on my iPod onto my iPhone(I was unaware this happened). I'm happy with all the apps added straight on and my contacts added but I don't want to have all my photos from my iPod on my iPhone. I want to keep the photos from my iPod on my iPod and when I take pictures on my iPhone they stay just on my iPhone. I'm wondering if this is possible as it's with the iCloud? I have previous synced my iPod on my laptop when adding music ect but I don't know if that effects iCloud I don't really know but I'm worried if I delete all the pictures off of my iPhone then sync that then sync my iPod into the same laptop will it wipe those pictures since there off my iPhone? I don't really get how all this works so help is very much appreciated!!  And I hope what I've wrote makes sense to someone!

If you don't want photo stream to sync your photos between devices go settings > iCloud and uncheck photos, do this on each device.

  • Two mac laptops, one iPhone and an iPod touch. Sync apps?

Hi there, between my wife and I, we have two Mac laptops, one iPhone and an iPod touch.  The iPod touch is new- is it possible to get the apps that have already been purchased for the iPhone, onto the iTouch?

but can i then only ever use both the iphone and itouch with that particular mac?
you can use home sharing to transfer media files (incl. apps) between the two Macs. if you and your wife use separate Apple ID's to purchase content, authorize the wife's machine for yours and yours for hers.
is there a way to make both portable devices work with both macs?
by design, iOS devices sync with only one library at a time.
i am hoping the "home sharing" feature will be the answer but so far i have not been able to make it work.

  • My Airport wireless is working for my two MacBook Pros and my daughter's iPod, but our iPad, Iphone and other iPod all say they need to set up an Airport Base Station but do not have the proper software.  I'm not sure what to do to remedy this situation.

My Airport wireless is working for my two MacBook Pros and my daughter's iPod, but our iPad, Iphone and other iPod all say they need to set up an Airport Base Station but do not have the proper software.  I'm not sure what to do to remedy this situation.

This might sound like a silly question, but are you sure the iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch etc.) are still trying to connect to the same network from your own Airport router, as the MacBook Pros are? If you tap Settings on them, is the network name next to where it says Wi-Fi, the right one?
I've got a weird feeling that either in the past couple of days, a neighbour got an Airport device and hasn't set it up yet (causing your iOS devices to try to help), or that perhaps there's an issue with your Airport router and they're noticing it and trying to help out, while for whatever reason, Airport Utility isn't opening itself on the MacBook Pros like it normally should if there's a problem.
If you open Airport Utility on one of the MacBook Pros, does it report any problems with your Airport device, and can you view/edit the settings on it?

Is it possible to run an iPhone and an iPod off of one iTunes account?  I want to buy an iPhone but I also want to use my Ipod Touch

As a clarification, you can have up to 5 devices with iTunes.
Sorry, this is incorrect.  The limit of 5 relates to the number of computers you can authorize to use iTunes, NOT the number of iOS devices you can sync with a single iTunes library.  You can sync as many iOS devices as you like to iTunes.  See whitewater2's post below... he is syncing at least 6 iOS devices with the same iTunes library.

  • What are the functional differences between the iPhone and the iPod Touch, barring of course the differences in service requirements.

What are the functional differences between the iPhone and the iPod Touch, barring of course the differences in service requirements.

For one, their form factors are slightly different as the iPhone has a bit more squarish body whereas the iPod Touch has a tapered back to it.
The iPhone also has much better front and rear cameras. Exact details as to the difference in megapixels depends on whether or not you talking about the iPhone 4 or 4S.  If you would like to get more details, you can always view
each models specs on Apple's online store.

  • Sync 2 Iphone and 1 ipod on itunes

    I curently own 2 iphones and 1 Ipod;
    My question is:
how can i sync each individual unit without loosing the content every time using the itunes software?
i know on Windows, you  hold down shift key as itunes loads up and you can choose from different libraries but how can i do it using Mac OX 10.5.4?
    Thanks.

Holding the Option key lets you start iTunes with a different library. Do you really need to do this to sync different devices? I know I have 2 iPods and I can sync each one and iTunes knows that each device is different. Event the image that comes up in iTunes looks different (one is a blue mini, the other the old white one). Now, I don't have an iPhone yet, so I don't know if that works like an iPod. Maybe with an iPhone you need a different library to sync it.

  • Can icloud sync an app between 2 iphones and an ipod?

I was wondering if the icloud can sync an app between 2 iphones and an ipod under the same ID

Yes per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946 setup iCloud on all devices under the same account and backup to the cloud. If its two iPhones, are they both one owner? If not,it's best to not setup iCloud on a device that is not the same owner.

  • How can I synchronize two iphones and two ipods on one MAC

How can I synchronize two iphones and two ipods on one MAC. My wife and i each have our own iPods and iPhones but share one MAC.

What do you mean by synchronize; music, apps, calendars, email, etc? Do you two share the same Apple ID on all devices? An Apple ID can support up to 5 computers and many iDevices.
    I hope this helps.

we have an ipad two iphones and an ipod nano can we sink all of them to one itunes the items have different itune accounts

Did you change the email address or create a new Apple ID?
If the email address associated with the account was merely changed, sign out of the Apple ID on the devices and sign in using the new credentials.

  • I have an iphone and an ipod touch on my account.  i need to reset my ipod but don't want to reset my iphone.  is this possible?

i have an iphone and an ipod on my account.
i need to reset my ipod only.
if i do the reset steps, will it also reset my iphone?

You will have to do a restore in iTunes. Likely, to bypass the passcode, you will need to place the iPod in Recovery Mode. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
