2 iPhones on 1 computer.

I need to share my music & photos to 2 iPhones. We each have our own log in, but can't get music to the other account. Do you have any suggestions?

Why have two sign-ins?
You can sync as many iphones as you like to one library/account/computer.
If you need to use two users for some reason:

  • Multiple backups of same iPhone on one computer possible?

Moved this over here from a different area in hopes of getting more eyeballs on it.
Does anyone know if it is possible to have multiple backups of the same iPhone on your computer? I have tried changing the name of the phone (ex. my_iPhone, myiPhoneA) but it still only lists one phone (the most recent name) in the "iPhones backed up on this computer" list in itunes. If anyone has been able to do this, or just knows it could be done, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, does anyone know where the computer actually stores the backup info. Assuming I could overwrite an existing backup file with them, being able to navigate to and save those files would allow me to do pretty much what i am looking to.
    thanks,
    christian

Yes. It's possible to have more than one backup of your iPhone on your computer. The backup is stored in this folder: Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup in your users profile. You have to disconnect your iPhone, navigate to the folder, move that folder to another part of your computer, and then plug your iPhone back in. This should create another backup in that folder. Then if you add the folder that you moved back in. You'll have two different backups. This is a link to the article where I got this info from. It also has the other places backups are kept on your computer.

  • De-authorizing itunes? Several of my authorized pc's have died, and have no way to deauthorize iTunes on them. Now I am unable to synch purchases on my Iphone to new computer with iTunes because I already have 5 computers authorized. What can be done?

Several of my authorized pc laptops and desktops have completely died over the years, and have no way to deauthorize iTunes on them. Now I am unable to synch purchases on my Iphone to new computer with iTunes because I already have 5 computers authorized. What can be done?

Deauthorise all to reset to zero, then authorize again.
    Following quote from Apple Support:
If you need to authorize your new computer and are unable due to already having five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all computers by doing the following:
Click iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than two authorized computers. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact iTunes Store support via email (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/).

  • Is there any way to copy email messages from an iPhone to a computer (pc or mac)?

My pc with my mail database was formatted and the mails lost. I have about 1000 mails on my iPhone that I desperately want to transfer back to my desktop.
My mail was on a POP server and I have no copies anywhere other than on the iphone.
I am not concerned about future email messages  - my question is about transferring existing messages from the iphone to a computer.
Any help is much appreciated, in have googled this to death and can't find a solution!!

  • How can I transfer Voice Memos from my iPhone to my computer?

    Dear Iphone users,
I have a very nice Iphone. I know how to transfer the pictures on my Iphone to my computer but I do not know how to transfer my "audios" (from the "dictaphone" function in French). How can I do that ?
    Thank you very much

iTunes automatically syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer. This lets you listen to voice memos on your computer and provides a backup if you delete them from iPhone.
Voice memos are synced to the Voice Memos playlist. iTunes creates the playlist if it doesn’t exist. When you sync voice memos to iTunes, they remain in the Voice Memos application until you delete them. If you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.
You can sync the iTunes Voice Memos playlist to the iPod application on iPhone using the Music pane in iTunes.
Sync the Voice Memos playlist to iPhone:
    1. Connect iPhone to your computer.
    2. In iTunes, select iPhone in the sidebar.
    3. Select the Music tab.
    4. Select the “Include voice memos” checkbox and click Apply.

  • Unable to back up iphone to the computer

There are two iPhone 5c's in my home.  I am able to back up one to my computer with no issue.  I get an error with the other (16GB, running iOS8) that I am unable to back up the iPhone to the computer.  I have tried this iPhone on THREE computers and get the same error each time.  One of computers never had iTunes installed on it before and I was still unsuccessful.  Following the instructions provided on this site for this issue has not helped and resetting the lockdown folder only prevents iTunes from connecting to the iPhone at all.
I have noticed this error in the log file:
    [com.apple.console AppleMobileBackup.exe] Unable to move temporary file "C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\Logs\MobileBackup-unknown-20140918-212429-Backup-Com puter.log" (3)
    [com.apple.console AppleMobileBackup.exe] Unable to move temporary file "C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\Logs\MobileBackup-05351e3d71b2ce92eea74258a6d3361009 a32275-20140918-212429-Backup-Computer.log" (3)
    [com.apple.console AppleMobileBackup.exe] WARNING: Backing up 05351e3d71b2ce92eea74258a6d3361009a32275
[com.apple.console AppleMobileBackup.exe] ERROR: Backup message response: 104 Multiple errors uploading files (MBErrorDomain/104)
This folder doesn't exist.  The path exists down to Backup, but there is no Logs folder.  Creating the Logs folder to the create the hierarchy does nothing.
When I delete the 05351e3d71b2ce92eea74258a6d3361009a32275 folder which actually does contain files and try to back up the phone, iTunes will actually recreate that folder and begin writing files to it.  It seems to get partway through the backup process and then report the error that it cannot back up the phone.  Something corrupt on the phone?  I've deleted all, but four photos on the phone.  I believe I read in one thread that some people were having success by deleting photos.  Unfortunately, I did not.
Since this is happening on all three computers, I would have to say that something is up with the phone.  Normally I would throw in the towel and wipe the phone and start over, but my wife just lost her mom and there are text messages on this phone from her mom.  I have to be able to back up this phone so when she gets a new phone she can take those texts with her.  Someone out there must have an answer for this.
    Thanks.

    Coleman,
I had a similar issue.  I was neither able to back up to iCloud nor to my computer through iTunes.  When I tried to do so to my laptop, iTunes would display the following message:  "iTunes could not back up the iPhone [myiPhone] because the back up could not be saved on this computer."  I looked at the system log and saw the same error as you.  When I tried to do so to iCloud, my phone would display the following message:  "The last backup could not be completed."
On my laptop, I did the measures suggested by this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2529?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
    None of that worked.
On my iPhone, I tried the following:
Turning off backing up for the camera roll.
Deleting the backup for the iPhone in iCloud.
    None of that worked.
I did not want to do a factory restore, so I decided to contact Apple Support.  My case got escalated to a senior advisor.  He suggested that I turn iCloud backup off (Settings > iCloud > Backup > iCloud Backup) and reset all settings on my iPhone (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings).  Once that was done, I reset my phone (press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo) and reenabled iCloud backup.  I was finally able to back up both to iCloud and my computer.  Fortunately, all of my content, including messages, was preserved.
    I hope this helps.

  • If I plug my iPhone into a computer, and just want to play non-manually managed music, why does that computer have to be authorized?

My home base computer has been authorized to play music my friend has downloaded from iTunes.  I can upload that music to my iPhone and play it on the phone without any issue.  When I am at work, I plug my iPhone into my computer and play music through my work computer.  But the music is not manually managed, nothing is being stored on that computer, it simply streams through to the headphone jack, allowing me to use iTunes as a control panel for the phone's music library.
I can play my own music just fine (because my work computer is authorized for my account).  But I can't play my friend's music, because my work computer isn't authorized for HIS account.  Nor should I expect him to waste one of his 5 authorizations on my work computer.
But why does it need to be so?  If I'm already authorized to play his songs on my iPhone, then what difference does it make if it's streaming through my work computer or not?  Why does Apple care, and why are my music playing rights being unnecessarily infringed?  I am currently a very unhappy iTunes customer because of this.
We don't have to buy music from iTunes you know.  If I buy the CD, I can upload it without any of these play rights issues.  I can give my friend my CDs while he gives me his and all of this goes away.  The harder and more user unfriendly playing music from the iTunes Store becomes, the less likely we'll be to buy it.  This is a very simple fix.  If my home base computer is authorized and I can put music on my iPhone, I should be able to play that music off the phone anywhere at any time, so long as I'm not making a copy.  And I am not making copies.  Fix this or we shop elsewhere.

I spent an hour on the phone w/ apple support this morning. I went through all the trouble shooting and it appears everything is working fine...until you plug the phone in and try to use itunes. Then they put me on hold for 20 min. While they did this i had a guy at work who had an older version of itunes on his cpu plug my phone in. Voila! It popped right up in iTunes. Their product specialist told me to uninstall and reinstall iTunes 8.2. Didn't work. Then they told me to uninstall and reinstall an older version of iTunes. That way I could get music on my phone, but I would not be able to update to the newest version of the iPhone OS. That's great and all, but it really hasn't solved any problems. I'm giving apple the benefit of the doubt due to the fact they just released the newest version of itunes, a new iphone, and a new iphone OS; so there's bound to be bugs and fixes. But that goodwill probably won't last to long. So if they won't fess up to the fact there's a problem w/ the new iTunes soon and fix it I guess they're going to have to give me a new phone.

  • Just updated to IOS 7 and two issues:  First when I connect my iPhone to my computer I get this error message:itunes was unable to provider data from sync services".

Just updated to IOS 7 and two issues:
First when I connect my iPhone to my computer I get this error message:itunes was unable to provider data from sync services".  I'm not sure what this really means...
The second issue is when I try to select "Manually Manage Music"
The iPhone "My iPhone" is synced with another iTunes libary on "MY-PC".  Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?  An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time.  Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."
So... I don't want to do that, but I do what to be able to Manage my music.  I'm not sure what it means by being synced to another iTunes unless it means to an older version of itunes?
    Anyone have any ideas?

I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it. See if this support document helps you out. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1535

  • I can't sync my iphone to my computer. when i connect to the computer it says 'sync in progress' and on computer it says 'backing up your iphone' but that goes on forever and nothing happens....what to do?

I am having trouble syncing my Iphone to the computer. Everytime I connect it....it says 'sync in progress' and on Itunes it says 'backing up in progress' but nothing really happens. It goes on forever...I end up disconnecting......please advise.

If you ever want to cut down on back up times eject your SIM card before starting...you should see the over all time go down a noticable amount.
Disclaimer: this does not mean that it will zip like lightning, just move faster than it dies with the card in...
let me know what you see happen.

  • How do you move the iphone from one computer to another.

I am having a lot of trouble with a computer so I started using a different one. I have never had an iphone on this computer. When I hook up the phone and try to put anything on it, like a ringtone, it says that the phone is using another iTunes and it wants to erase all the content of the phone. I searched the internet and it says to just move it and all will be good. This I have found is not true!!

You need to transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to the new or different computer per the instructions included with this link. Transferring your iTunes library from your old computer to the new or different computer you will be be using now to sync your iPhone with per the instructions included with this link (along with authorizing the new or different computer with your iTunes account with iTunes) will prevent any iTunes content on your iPhone that was transferred from your old computer from being erased from your iPhone with the first sync with iTunes on the new or different computer.
