2 iPhones one Mac Pro

Hi, I've been trying to figure out how to add another iPhone to the iTunes on this Mac Pro. We have 2 iPhone and 2 iPads, but only this computer that we both use. I haven't mad it past the prompt that the music she purchased with be deleeted if I push OK. I did make us seperate accounts and seperated our contacts and Photos. Any ideas how to sync her phone, but not lost any of the date on the the phone. My main goal is to back up all our devices through the iTunes.

The above suggestion is fantastic as well!
Authorize the computer with her apple ID first via:
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH1730
Once that is done, prevent auto-matic syncing:
Mac- http://support.apple.com/kb/PH1764
Windows- http://support.apple.com/kb/PH1677
Connect the phone ot the computer, if you have been using the phone, and it has never been connected to the computer before, it may ask you to "set it up". Just set up as new, this will not affect any of the info on your iphone. After that is done, create your back up as per:

Here is a list of articles that will assist you in managing your information between your phone and computer (Some articles may be repeats of what I posted for you already, however all is useful)

  • Can I move hard drives from one Mac Pro to another?

I have two mid-2010 Mac Pros that I work with daily - one 8-core on 10.7.3 and one 12-core on 12.7.4.  I would like to take all of the drives out of one Mac Pro and put them in the other and vice versa, essentially trading their content.  It probably sounds pointless, but I would like to build the more powerful one out from scratch, and right now the less powerful one is nearly empty.
Can I simply shut off both machines and swap all of the drives in one for all of the drives in the other?  I would keep them in the same bays in the machine I'm trading them with, but I'm unsure if I will screw something else up.

I've moved drives from a Mac Pro 1,1 to a 5,1 and they were able to boot the newer Mac, but to ensure that the OS was configured for the newer machine, I ran the appropriate combo updater once the drive was installed. If you're planning to stick with the drive rotation, doing that shouldn't hurt and might help even though the machines are of the same vintage. Note, however, that some commercial software keys in on machine specifics and/or the serial number to prevent piracy, so swapping drives can cause other problems.

  • One MAC PRO 2 displays

Is there any way of having one MAC PRO and having 2 displays connected to it... one directly and the other one via WIFI (I already have a TIME CAPSULE)... OR anybody can help how I can have one tower (maybe I need an XSERVER) and 2 displays connected to it... one directly again and the other wifi... As usual thanks for the great advice I get here..

"WI-FI' does not support monitor connection, need to find DVI extension cable.

  • Can I remove a CD Rom from one Mac pro and re-install it in another mac pro

One mac pro, my computer has a CD ROM that doesn't open and my brother's old Mac Pro has a CD ROM that still opens and closes how easy would it be for me to remove the CD ROM from my brother's old Mac Pro and re-install it in my Mac Pro

2008 and previous used ATA/IDE DVD Readers.
2009 and later used SATA DVD Readers.
You cannot cross the line without changing the cabling, which may be more expensive that just replacing the drive with a new one.
You both should be sure to update to 10.6.8 if you have not already done so, to provide enhanced malware protection. If you cannot do that, turn off JAVA (not javascript) in all your Browsers.

  • Just uploaded apps from iPhone to Mac Pro but i can't open apps on mac pro?

Just uploaded apps from iphone to Mac pro but i can't open the apps - Why?

    Hi richard915,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
Do you mean that you transferred your purchases from the iPhone to your Mac pro?  You can also set your Mac's iTunes preferences to automatically download purchases made to it.  You'd have to check the specifics for the app that you are having an issue with, but some apps that are designed for the iPhone won't work on your Mac. Developers usually create two versions of their software.

  • New to MAC - trying to sync iphone and Mac Pro with imac

    Hi,
Just made the switch to Mac. Purchased my Mac Pro yesterday, loaded .Mac, and plugged in my iPhone to the computer. Followed the steps to Sync iCal and contacts from iPhone and although it is registering there is a phone and downloading photos, it is not syncing anything else.
The steps I took were System Preferences, .mac, and checked the relevant boxes. It indicates syncing is taking place but the calendar on iPhone and Mac Pro are not syncing.
Could anyone help with advice? SHould I be able to sync easily between the iPhone and the Mac Pro with .mac?

You use iTunes to sync an iPhone - not *.Mac Sync* or iSync.
*.Mac Sync* is for syncing between Macs, and iSync is for syncing third-party mobile phones and PDAs.

  • Two iPhones + One Mac = One Shared Photo Stream (Impossible?)

Please can someone give me a straight forward answer to this question? I have read through the other similar forum questions and I still don't feel that I have found a definitive answer / solution.
Is it possible to do the following please:
Two iPhones + One Mac = One Shared Photo Stream (i.e. three devices that all have access to and update the Photo Stream as photographs are taken)
    If so, how?
If not, am I really the only person that wants to do this?
    Thanks (in anticipation).

Create a free email account at gmail, yahoo, outlook.com, or one of the other email services and use that to create the second Apple ID.
Also, create separate user accounts on your computer for each of you to avoid unintentionally mixing up your data.

  • Iphone and ipod on one mac-pro.

I ordered my iphone today, it should be here within 10-21 days, I hope.....my question is this. My wife has all of her songs in itunes on our mac-pro, I am planning on using this same computer for my iphone. I don't want all of her music on my iphone, and she will not want my music on her ipod. We have completely different musical tastes. I this going to pose a problem for us? Should I have her move her music onto her laptop or on to the other hard-drive I have on this mac-pro with windows set up for her. I would appreciate any help on this one, I want to be prepared when my iphone gets here.

You won't have to move any of her music onto a different hard drive or even on to a windows PC. If you go into System Preferences, you can click on accounts and will be able to add a new user in the left pane. This way it's like having two separate Macs, none of your music will mix with hers and vice versa. Hope this helps.

  • Difference in Wifi-speed between iPhone and Mac Pro

    Hello.
Have just moved in to new studio and having some problems with the wifi-signal on my Mac Pro.
Not the most technical guy so not sure what to do here. Basically we've extended the airport express which we're using as the router with another Aiport Express. The base airport express is situated upstairs from me now so not expecting a full signal but bought another airport express to extend the signal. Now to my problem: basically my workstation is a Mac Pro Early 2009 which we at the time put a wifi card in. If i do a speedtest at exactly the same position with my Mac Pro and with for example my iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 gets a speed result of around 20mbit/s and the Mac Pro only gets around 5-6mbit/s.. Why is that? Could it be that the wifi card in the Mac Pro is too old or something? The Airport Expresses are both purchased in the last month or two so they are the most up to date ones avaliable. Do they run on different signals or something?
    Thanks!
    /markus

Depends how you sync.  If using iCloud, set it in the iCloud settings on the phone.  If syncing with iTunes, set in on the Info page of your divice in iTunes

  • HT1752 I both one Mac Pro 15" March 2009  and five month ago I have to change the harddrive and put some actional memories, since I have to make the upgrade for Lion IOS. Now the motherboard fails. What should I do or expect from Apple to solve this probl

Hi everyone. I both a Mac Pro 15" in March 2009. Five month ago I  was forced to buy by one new hard drive and extent the memory, because I had to make the upgrade (and pay) to install the new Lion operation system. Four days ago the Mother-board fails. To change it will cost a fortune. What should I do or expect from Apple to solve this problem? I am very disappointed because my trust on Apple was destroyed.

I am not sure why you are upset with Apple. Electronics equipment does fail. If the product is out of warranty or you do not have AppleCare there's not much you can do with Apple. Apple will charge you for the repair. Suggest you look for a third party repair store since they are usually less expensive than Apple. Alternatively you can buy one for about $850US and install it yourself. Sorry, but there aren't many choices in this situation.

  • IPhone accessing Mac Pro's shared internet via Bluetooth

I have an iPhone 4 which is running without an ATT contract (no cellular) and acting like an iPod.
I can access the Internet using the wifi arrangements on the iPhone, and this works easily.
But I would like to turn off the wifi on the iPhone and configure the iPhone to access the Internet
via the shared internet service on my Mac pro, connecting via bluetooth.
I am starting to think this is not possible, and the tethering can only go the other way, That is to
say that the iPhone can share it's cellular net access with the Mac via personal hotspot, or possibly
using bluetooth PAN or some other bluetooth connection service.
I have tried creating PAN network interfaces on the Mac Pro, and then I go to the iPhone and set
up a paired connection between the iPhone and the Mac Pro. But I just can't seem to guess the
right set of settings so that the iPhone can use the Mac Pro's internet via the PAN service.
Does PAN service only serve the iPhone's internet to an external device (like a notebook), or can
it be used in the other direction to allow the iPhone to request IP packet service from the Mac Pro?
    Thoughts?

I've been having the same problems as everyone else here. Trying to share internet connection from my ethernet wired iMac to my MacBook and my iPhone. Tried all the workarounds, but nothing works, or lasts very long.
Yesterday, I finally talked with AppleCare for over an hour. All their suggestions (trashing preferences, changing settings, etc.) failed, as well. The AppleCare person then put me on hold to speak to an engineer, who told her that Snow Leopard no longer supports Internet Sharing as of 10.6.1.
Not willing to accept that answer, I had them set up an appointment at the Apple Store Genius Bar for me, and after chatting with the Genius for a while, he also confirmed that Internet Sharing is no longer supported under Snow Leopard. Apparently, there were many hardware issues that the engineers decided to circumvent, and so did not include support for Internet Sharing with the internal airport in Macs. They said that the Airport it is intended to receive, not to send a signals! Yet, it worked fine, doing just that, under Tiger and Leopard! The only fix he could offer was to wipe my drive and take me back to 10.5, which I declined.
However both the guy at the Genius Bar and the lady at AppleCare inferred that Apple "may" release another update to fix this issue, if they get enough complaints and bug reports.
So, there you have it. Apple no longer officially supports Internet Sharing in Snow Leopard.
