We have 2 iPod touches. should we set up 2 I tunes accounts?

One account for iTunes music/movies/TV show as well as App purchases means you can share any items purchased easily. Settings -> Store -> Apple ID (tap on your Apple ID to change it)
You can get a 2nd account for iCloud. Settings -> iCloud -> Account

I havent seen anything confirming this but I suspect not. that would require you keep logging in and out of the two accounts since you can only sign in to one at once. In iTunes on your computer if you log into another iTunes account you can't log into another one for 90 days. As I say I've seen nothing confirming this on a mobile device, but I suspect it will be the same.

Launch iTunes on your computer.
From the menu bar click Store / View My Account
Click the Edit button next to: Edit Payment Information
You can edit your billing information there.

Can you access the account on another device?
Have you tried when connected to another network?
Have you tried deleting the account from the iPod and reentering the settings since it is easy to make an error.

Setting up two iPod Touches on one account with gift cards for app and in-app purchases

I have multiple devices on one account - 2 iPod classics, one iPhone 3G and two recently acquired iPod Touches for my 8 year old boys. They want to make in-app purchases (for Dragonville). They each have their own gamecenter ID. I want to set up each of them with gift cards for their purchases. Is this possible?
If not, what is the recommended approach to manage all devices in one place while allowing individual devices to have a seperate payment mechanism?

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.
To make sure you only sync the media yoo want, configure iTunes syncing so that only checked media is synced to the idevices.

Hello. My current itunes account syncs completely to my Ipod classic (much music and many playlists). I also have a ipod shuffle which I have set up to sync ONLY to its own designated playlist in the same account. I have just aquired an ipod touch which I plan to use primarily for apps, games, videos and internet. I do NOT want any of my current itunes music/playlists to load onto it (at least not initially). How can I set up this new ipod touch in my existing account and have it sync ONLY to apps that I will download for it? Thanks for your help. Cheers!

The Account is registered to me, but whenever he plugs his in to put new music on or take music off, it deletes his "On The Go" playlists. My iPod doesn't lose anything whenever I put it in, but just in case, I've selected to "Manually" sync music with both the iPods, and it still happens to his iPod. i downgraded to iTunes 9, because iTunes 10 did not recognize my iPod touch (1G) anymore.
more or less all went fine, playlistes are here and so on...
my ipod is recognized , but with an different user! and: iTunes does not find the apps on my mac -> empty.
ho can i define in iTunes where are the are (~/music/itunes/mobile applications)? and how can i teach iTunes to use the user of the iPod touch and not this news (empty) one?!?!
a synch would delete all the apps and music on my iPod!

Go to Settings>Store and sign out of existing account and sign into another account..
However, you should complety erase/restore the iPod to factoery defaults/new iPod since the contents of the iPod do not transfer with the sale of the hardware.

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.

NEED HELP ASAP! Transferring ipod touch from 1 account to another.

My children just returned from trip to dad's where they each received ipod touches that dad synced to his account instead of waiting till they got home to sync to mine. We already have a very well established account we have had for years so I need to pretty much reset their ipods to my account. Not too worried about the 2 apps that were bought will just replace those. Can anybody help me with this issue. Thanks!

You Don’t Want to Sync Info on iPod touch to Your Computer
Replace contacts, calendars, mail accounts, or bookmarks on iPod touch with
information from your computer.
Replace iPod touch information:
1 Open iTunes.
2 As you connect iPod touch to your computer, press and hold Command-Option (if
you’re using a Mac) or Shift-Control (if you’re using a PC) until you see iPod touch in
the iTunes sidebar. This prevents iPod touch from syncing automatically.
3 Select iPod touch in the iTunes sidebar and click the Info tab.
4 Under “Replace information on this iPod touch,” select Contacts, Calendars, Mail
Accounts, or Bookmarks. You can select more than one, if you like.
5 Click Apply.
Information of the selected type is erased from iPod touch and replaced with what’s
on your computer. The next time you sync, iPod touch syncs normally, adding
information you’ve entered on iPod touch to your computer, and vice versa.

All other media content will be erased when you sync for the first time with your Mac and replaced with what's in your itunes library.

IPod touch duplicating Email accounts and mail boxes

iPod touch 2nd generation running 4.2.1
I have 7 email accounts and 7 mailboxes in the mail program on my iMac. I have the iPod touch set to sync all of them. Somehow 5 of the 7 mail boxes and accounts are being duplicated on the iPod touch. I don't use the iPod much for email and want to eliminate all but 2 of the accounts and mailboxes from it but I can't figure out how and I don't know why they are being duplicated.

IPod Touch Stolen and Account is frequently disabled

My iPod Touch was stolen several weeks ago and I frequently get locked out of my Apple account (including access to the iTunes Store). I always go to reset my password only to get locked out again later. I'm assuming it has to do with someone using my stolen iPod. Is there anything I can do to make this stop happening?

Clearly if the account is getting disabled its because this person does not know the password. I don't really want to have to switch all of my apps and content to another account.
Also, how does one contact Apple? Navigating support for an Apple ID on apple.com is painful and not exactly the kind of usability this company is known for.

Transfer ipod touch to new account

My son just received a new computer for Chirstmas and he was using my iTunes account for music and apps. He just created his own account and my question is can I move his music and apps from his iPod Touch to his new account. If so, how can I do it. Thanks.

If you are talking about moving iTunes purchases to another Apple ID, then that's not possible. Sorry.
Your son will need access to your Apple ID and password to update and sync his previous purchases.

IPOD TOUCH & APPLE MAIL ACCOUNT

I Updated software to 4.0 on my 8 GB IPod Touch and when I did the apple mailbox on the touch does not show the sent, trash or junk folders.
How do I get them back? Now all I show in the Apple mail account is the in box.
This however is not true of my Yahoo Account. It kept all 17 folders that I have in that account including the sent, trash & junk folders.

I have the same issue. At least we know it not just us. I did have issues when upgrading. My iPod immediately went through a restore after installing the upgrade but couldn't complete due to an error. Couldn't sync music due to "could not be found". Restarted the computer and it solved that problem. Don't know if I can restore but don't need to now.
Supposedly another update is coming this week to fix the bugs. Then another will release to fix the new bugs and so on. Such is life with software.
