2 ipods 1 big problem!!
My daughter has an ipod registered on our computer,now I have gotten one and registere it. The problem is that Her music is now missing off her ipod and my music is showing up under name and wanting to load on her ipod. How can we have seperate itunes accounts and keep our music seperate from each others. Also we have seperate accounts on the computer she has got itunes on both hers and mine but on her name she can download music but not transfer to her ipod. She has to have it on my account to do so please help me figure this out!!

From the link Bryan provided, you need to download the updater, install to your computer, run the updater program, connect the iPod when prompted (not before), and format it for Windows use.
From your posts, it's not clear (at least to me) that you are doing this. -
New computer, old ipod, big problem
I used to have all my music on my old computer, but my old computer got damaged so i can not use it anymore. it is obsolete. I still have ALL my music on my ipod, but now I can't put it on the computer (or maybe I just don't know how??). I have purchased ALOT of music via iTUNES and I don't want to lose any of it. Can someone PLEASE tell me how I can load all the music on my iPOD onto my new computer? PLEASE!!

Open up iTunes 7. Plug in your iPod. Once the iPod shows up in iTunes select "File" from the top menu. In the list select "Transfer purchases from iPod".
That should transfer all your purchased music from your iPod to iTunes. No software to download or purchase. This is a new feature in iTunes 7.
Then I would suggest backing up your music collection to disc or a spare hard drive for safe keeping. -

You're not confusing this with a shared Photo Stream...?
Because the short answer is no, photos don't appear unless they were put there by someone with your Apple ID credentials. To rule out that possibility, change your Apple ID password by carefully following all these instructions:

If you decide to change your password, and you also want to change your Apple ID, I recommend you do not concurrently change your Apple ID until sufficient time has passed and you are confident the password change has been effected on all your iOS devices. 24 hours ought to be more than enough.
It is not necessary to change your Apple ID unless it is an email address you no longer wish to use. -

You can use the alternative called assistive touch to enable assistive touch go to settings>general>Accessibility>scroll down to the bottom of the page and enable assistive touch a white dot at the bottom right of your screen will appear press the white dot and you will see the home button

Cannot install itunes AND Apple Mobile Device (BIG PROBLEM)
Ok so there is a BIG problem, 3 weeks ago, itunes was working perfectly, and then i got a problem and i had to delete itunes and i also deleted Apple Mobile Device and bonjour and quicktime, but when i try to reinstall itunes, i can't, it just skips the installation and i tried to download apple mobile device separately but it wont work too, i just want to put music on my ipod touch (PLEASE HELP) Thanks
How are you doing the itunes install, BOSS? Are you using Apple Software Update for Windows, or are you downloading and installing itunes from the following location?

Well I've a big problem with a 4th gen Ipod. The prob is that the Select button on the middle doesn't work.
I've tried everything : Did a reset, a complet restore from Itunes 7, but it was unsuccesful.
I don't really understand the problem, I was using the Ipod normally then suddenly the button didn't work !!
Please help me. In addition, I cannot carry it to the Apple Centre because I live in Algeria.

I've tried to open it as well, I've unplugged all the connectors, cleaned it with alcohol, but the button still not responding.
Do you think that the problem would come from the logic board ?? Because the button itself worked (I used a METRIX to test it), and I can make a reset with no problem (the reset needs the central button).

Is this a big problem or one that will go away? Small lines on screen
I have a row about 2 or so pixils big, halfway across my screen. You can barely notice them on the background, and I dont notice them when I move my safari window over it. But I have changed my desktop background to different things, solid colors, photos, random photos apple had in there, and the lines were still there.
It is about 4 rows, very thin, different lengths, right side, just below the center of the right side of the screen.
Is it the beginning of a big problem? I was thinking of calling up applecare then going to an apple store to have the screen replaced.Thanks. I will back up my data this wednesday, install snow leopard on friday (i doubt it would do any fixing... want to see it though, cant wait to install it :P). Then on the 8th I will schedule an appointment and go to the apple store. That way I can make 1 trip. I plan on getting my ipod touch replaced, the battery for some reason doesnt hold a charge too well, last night on wifi the youtube app drained 25% in 20 minutes.

ITunes/iPod/USB problem after installing AVG 8.0 Antivirus

I have recently installed AVG 8.0 as a replacement to my pevious Antivirus software. I now seem to have some kind of a problem with 'disappearing' USB attached storage.
The first problem I had, was that my Walkman was no longer recognised. I resolved this by uninstalling it in 'Device Manager' and then running 'Add Hardware'. Windows successfully found the new hardware and installed it OK. My big problem is that the same thing is happening to my three iPods (Shuffle, Touch and 30Gb Video). When I connect them, iTunes detects them, opens and then seems to perform the usual software version check OK. However, if I then try to tranfer a track to them, or delete a track, I get the message 'Disk not found'. I have updated iTunes to 8.01, but that hasn't resolved the problem. I have also tried uninstalling the iPods and then letting Windows install them again. This doesn't resolve the issue either. The iPods have the most current software update loaded onto each of them. My Windows XP Home is running SP3 and all of the current Critical Updates. There is no other unexpected behaviour by the PC.
I have searched around and there is talk of some kind of (possible) AVG 8.0 related problem, but I can't find a resolution. Please can anyone help. Thanks in advance.
IanI have exactly the same problem since downloading the upgrade earlier today. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled to try to fix it but all I keep getting after it has nearly completed loading (which takes a frustrating amount of time each time) is a repeat instruction to re-boot in order to complete the configuration and I've had enough of the endless 'loop' that you refer to. It worked fine before the upgrade but I can't go back!

Big problem with playing videos on Vista
I have a big problem with iTunes and Quick Time on Vista. I know other people in the german cmmunity who have it, too.
If ich want to play a video with iTunes or Quickt Time my PC starts wokring very heavy. Then the programm shut down. Sometimes there is a bluescreen, too.
In iTunes it is enough just to leftclick on a video an the programm is freezing without an error message.
I bought a new iPod classic some days ago. With this error i can't use it and 350 € would be thrown away.
I installed both prgramms again and again but that's no use.Seems to be a hard drive issue. I sometimes get the blue screen of death or a message that one of my 2 raid0 hard drives is starting to fall down. If I restart the PC (3 seconds on the power button... since iTunes blocked everything) and declare the hard drive is OK using the Intel Matrix soft provided by Dell on their website, everything is back to normal (as long as I don't use iTunes). Problem only occurs with iTunes. I am currently doing a backup of my complete HDD to an external drive. I'll try moving my iTunes library to this drive and see if it works better from a non raid 0 drive. Will keep you informed. But an external drive is always VERY slow compared to an internal so it can only be a degraded mode solution to the problem. Apple please do something!!!

Very big problem: all titles deleted

i hope you can help me because i´ve got a really big problem (as my ipod is part of my life, haha)
so..
my ipod was nearly full when i added some more titles to my library. that was too much for my ipod nano (2 gb). it asked me whether i´d like to add just an selection (that itunes would automatically choose for me) to the ipod. i chose yes. itunes created a playing list (?) named "itunes auswahl" (itunes selection?) so far everything went well - all "old" titles plus some of the new ones were on my ipod. but that playing list blocked all my other ones (e.g. top 25, my favorites...) so i deleted the "ipod auswahl"-list. that was the big error, i guess. because after then, none of the titles (except 3 podcasts) existed on my ipod anymore (but in the library, phew!). what a shock. i tried to update my ipod, but it didn-t work - there´s always this message saying that the ipod can´t be updated because the playlist for that doesn´t exist anymore. then i keep on switching the options from "ausgewählte wiedergabelisten" (update only chosen playlists) to "alle titel und wiedergabelisten" (update everything). then i try to update it again, but then it says: "der ipod "ipod" kann nicht aktualisiert werden. dieser datenträger ist weder lesbar noch beschreibbar." (this ipod can´t be updated. this data medium is neither readably nor recordably.) so - what to do? i tried to put back the ipod, to install it new (i´ve got the newest version of itunes now), but nothing worked.
please help me really quick. would be so nice.
and please don´t look at my mistakes - i´m just a pupil from germany.

but it doesn´t work yet!! it´s the same problem. when i put the ipod in, in the music settings there´s the setting that it shall just sync the titles from selected playlists. but there isn´t any playlist ticked. so i tick the playlist "-ipod" which i created and try to sync it then. but then there´s always the message which says that the ipod isn´t recordably nor readably.
i think the problem is that my pc can´t remember the music settings because everytime it´s switched to what it was in the beginning. and after changing that the ipod can´t be synced (?) well you know what i mean i guess

1.2.1 Ipod Update Problem and AC Adapter
I have a 30GB Ipod Photo, I plugged into my PC at work, ran Itunes and it said I should update my Ipod. I ran the updater, and it updated my Ipod.
BIG Problem: It said I had to have an AC Adapter to "Flash" my Ipod. I'm at work, dont have an AC Adapter, so the entire day can't use the ipod, can't restart it, nothing works. Get home, can't find the AC Adapter. So what, basically I can't use my Ipod until I get an AC Adapter?
Anyone at Apple test this update?? How about a warning BEFORE you install that says you need an AC adapter to complete. I've done several updates to my Ipod and never got this message.hi elgoom!
I did this update and then my iPod told me to plug it into an AC adapter. I did, however, nothing happened... It still displays the "plug it into an AC adapter" icon.
i just did the 2006-01-10 update with attractive beast earlier today. what you should be seeing is the adapter icon replaced with the Apple icon. then a little progress bar shows up under the Apple. when it completes you get your standard display back.
... let's try checking on some simple things first. have you tried plugging the AC adapter into a different wall socket and seeing if the flash will go through then?
do you have a different AC adapter available? if so, will the flash complete if you plug the ipod into that one?

Like I say I'm the title... A little part "colour" on my iPod5 came off after I dropped my iPod on a stone table.
I just want to know that can Apple repair it or it doesn't count on the guarantee? It's not a big problem but I just got it few month ago...It's brand new! Do that's why I'm curious..:) and if they can repair... Will it gonna be free?When you get your iPod repaired / replaced... do yourself a favor, spend a few more bucks and but a case, like a Lifeproof or Griffin Survivor. Both cover the entire iPod and offer protection against drops and falls, weather, sand, dust, etc. and will at least minimize if not prevent damage to your iPod. Good luck.
