2 ipods on 1 computer, but only 1 works.

My boyfriend and I both got ipod nanos, he got his first so we installed everything onto my computer and his is working just fine, it updates when we download new music and has no problems. Then I bought mine and assumed it would work just as well, but it doesnt. The only thing it does when I connect it to my computer is either charge or say that its already charged, i can't get any music from itunes into it. The cable it gave me to connect to my usb port freezes my cursor when I connect it, so I tried using my boyfriends cable, but nothing happens, it just charges it. I've read almost all of these forums and have tried a million different tips (different usb port, reinstalling the software, creating a new account, etc.) but it doesnt make a difference. Any reason why one works and the other doesnt???

My ipod classic (80 GB, from 2006) is connected to a new computer, but only sync 241 songs, out 1825.  I have restored several times.  How can I fix this?  my old computer is damaged and the new one run on Windows 8.

I ran into this same problem earlier with my new iPod classic 160 gb. Turns out it could be your files show in iTunes but they aren't connected to the location those music tracks are actually located.
    Does this make any sense?
You basically have to make sure iTunes is picking your songs from the right music folder via your preferences.
Option 1: If your iTunes is completely wiped blank and your music is stored in a safe place, backed up, etc. You can do the following:
Step A. Preferences > iTunes Media Folder Location > choose folder
**** please be sure to pick a location that is new or different from where you ACTUALLY stored your music to prevent your files from deleting itself as it updates****
For example, if you stored your music on your Desktop then you wouldn't choose your music folder to be the one in Desktop. You choose the folder where you want your music to go such as C:\My Music or in Mac, you choose the music folder.
Step B. Once you choose the folder where all your music is stored and you check the box that says "Keep iTunes Media Folder organized" and "Copy Files to iTunes Media when adding to library."
Step C. This is the part that will make sense. Drag the folder on desktop that houses all your music into iTunes. Because you checked the box "Copy Files to iTunes Media when adding to library," iTunes will copy all the backup music you dragged into the folder location you designated it in "Preferences > iTunes Media Folder Location > choose folder."
---- once all that is done, your itunes will have ALL your music tracks linked to the right location on your computer and your iPod will sync with as many or all of the music you desire.
    Hope this helps.

  • I connect my ipod to my computer-it only charges instead of downloadinsongs

    HELPP
when i connect my ipod to my computer, it only charges instead of downloading my songs
it is now fully charged and it still wont download my songs
    please help me someone.
    pleasE?

They are all in the same place. If you pick preferences in iTunes, you have a bunch of tabs. When the iPod is plugged in, one of the tabs will be for the iPod. You can also get there by right clicking on the iPod name over on the left side of iTunes and picking iPod options from that pop-up menu. But either way it gets you to the same place, and that's where you can check if it's in automatic or manual update mode.

Can anyone help me figure out how to sync my ipod with my purchased music?  I have used several computer and at one point synced my ipod with a computer that only had about half of my music.  My other computers are no longer working.  Not sure how to get my purchased music back onto my ipod?

    Hi kimcinma!
Your previous purchases are saved on iCloud even if you bought them on another computer. If you can't find them on your current computer, you might need to unhide them. Go to iTunes preferences, and click on Store Preferences. Then click the box for "show iTunes in the Cloud purchases". Then click on OK, and everything you've ever bought from iTunes on that Apple ID will show up in your library. You will need to download them from iCloud first before you can synch them to your iPod Classic. To do this, click on the little cloud with the arrow in it next to your song, and it will download to your computer. When you have the music that you want downloaded, plug in your iPod and synch away. Hope this helps!

Try force rebooting it, hold down the power and home button for 10 seconds until the apple boot logo comes up. If that doesn't work, try rebooting your computer.

Photo Stream has 500+ photos on computer but only 11 come up on Apple TV

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • Created 2 slideshows, but only 1 works??

    Hi there
I have created two slideshows, but only one works. I have

that does not work, but that is not what my client wants.
The one that works can be viewed at

I am using the same player in both cases. I have tested both
on my laptop using all browsers I could think of. After I FPT'ed
the files to the hositng server, the Gallery does not display
anything in the "Image Viewer". Thumnails, headers, etc are
    displayed.
Any suggestions? I am at a complete loss.
P.S.: I am using Fireworks and Dreamweaver CS3.

  • If i plugged my ipod into my computer but unplugged it to fast and only 25 songs synced and i lost 100 of my songs, can i get those back somehow?

If I plugged my ipod into my computer and unplugged it to fast and only 25 songs synced onto the computer, then is there any way to get my lost 100 songs back?

Were these songs purchased from iTunes? If so,you can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
    Hope this helps!

  • IPod recognised by computer but not by iTunes, Please Help!!

When i connect my iPod to my computer, the 'do not disconnect' screen appears , and my ipod is shown in 'my computer', but not on iTunes please can anyone help and give suggestions. All replies are gratefully appreciated.

    Peter,
Peter. I had the same problem (only after installing 5.0.1). The only solution I found to work was to uninstall 5.0.1 and install the previous version that came on the packaged disk.
Something I noticed, however, is that you can still download and successfully run the most recent iPod updater software. The 9/23/05 iPod updater release works just fine with iTunes 4.7., but it would not recognize the iPod when running 5.0.1 (iPod service error). There is clearly a commong problem with many Windows users with the 5.0.1 release. Don't know if it's a bad iPod service script or what...but it doesn't work for a lot of users (although I, too, had access to the iPod as an external drive in explorer). Haven't seen anything from Apple on it, though.
Would like to see this fixed, soon!
