2 iPods on same iTunes/computer

I have an iPod video and it works great. But, I'm fat and need to start training so I'm looking at getting a new shuffle. Can I use both on the same computer and the same iTunes? If I can, how do I do this? Thanks...

If you are adding a second iPod for your own use, just connect it to your computer and it will update from your existing library.

  • How do i sync different ipods on same itunes/computer?

I have an ipod classic and shuffle. Shuffle was purchased afterwards.
I managed to create a separate library and added songfs into Shuffle's library. Now i'd like to sync, but forgot how
to bring up each account, but can't open that library. Little help>???? Thanks.

With iTunes, you can only run 1 library at a time. Libra allows you to create more than one library and switch between them. You will have to use something like Libra to import your other library, the one that you create for your shuffle and have libra switch to it. The problem that you will run into is that if you switch to your other library, when you plug in your ipod classic, iTunes will tell you that it was synced with another library and you will need to erase and sync. If you want to sync both ipods to the same library, 1 of the them will need to be erased and synced.

  • Two iPods on Same iTunes

I have a 30Gb iPod Video, and my bro just bought a 4gb Nano. Is it possible to use both of them on the same iTunes, since I only have about 700 songs on it? Or do I have to put iTunes on my other computer aswell?

  • IPhone and iPod on same iTunes library

I'm interested in a iPhone 3G, currently have a iPod classic. I need to have my iTunes library stored on both. The iPod is used for the car. Because the connection for the iPod is in the glove box, I have to have both to be able to easily use the phone in the car. Is this possible?

I ahve both an iPod and an iPhone, bith synce to the same iTunes libary, granted the phone cannot sync everything given it's 16GB limitation, but you can certainly use both without a problem.

  • Can I use a nano and video on same iTunes computer and library?

If I have an ipod Video and I currently download songs from my iTunes to iPod, is it possible to just select a certain folder in iTunes to have put on my husband's nano. I was told to just changet he preferences in iTunes but do I need to do anything with the nano before doing that...it is still in the box!
Thanks in advance...I just need explicit directions so I don't mess this up.
I might try setting up a different user name for him and transfering my library into his but I am not sure if I can do that...
    Thanks

No problem using multiple iPods on a single computer as you may setup diferent preferences for each of them: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300432 "Method Two"

  • Sync iPhone and iPod on same iTunes?

I just got a new iPhone. All of the instructions say to download iTunes but I already have iTunes for my iPod. When I connect my iPhone, it should sync with my existing iTunes (I think).
After my iPhone syncs with my iTunes, will my iTunes still recognize my iPod? I want to keep the iPod up to date with my music since it is a component in my home sound system.
I cannot find any help topics that address this. I am concerned that my iTunes will not want to recognize more than one device.
If anyone knows the answer please let me know asap! Thanks!

iTunes will recognize any number of iPods and iPhones. However, you MUST have the latest version of iTunes so if you have not yet upgraded it to v 7.5 do so.
The only limitation (and it is for iPhones only) is that all iPhones synced to the same iTunes library must have the same options set. This is NOT true for iPods.

  • 2 IPODS to Same Itunes

    I just received a 160GB IPOD. I already have a 40GB Click Wheel.
My question is can I also put the new one on my laptop where my itunes library is and down load those songs to it? That is where is use my 40GB.

Yes; just plug the second iPod in, update iTunes if needed, and go through the iPod Setup Assistant. If you want to transfer different content to each iPod, click here for options.

  • Having an iphone and 2 different ipods on same itunes, syncing iphone

Is there anyway that there can be 2 itunes programs on 1 computer? The reason i ask, is that its a pain to sync the iphone after syncing an ipod. To sync the ipod you just select everything in the library. With the iphone's lesser memory you have to select, basically, one song at a time. This is a huge pain to do with nearly 6000 songs. Having 2 itunes programs that maintain to seperate library lists but used only 1 library would make syning much more painless. If there is a current way of doing this could someone let me know. Thanks.

My first suggestion would be that you read the users guides for both iTunes and the iPhone and/or search help for "playlists". You can easily make custom playlists for each device that you synch to the same copy of iTunes. The online video tutorials on iPhone support will also show you how to do this.
When your iPod, or iPhone, are connected to the computer, click on that "device" in the left hand column and you can select what you want synched from the "options" at the bottom of the page, and from any of the "tabbed" categories noted at the top of the window.
My kids synch two iPods, and two iPhones, to iTunes on one computer. They each have separate playlists for their individual iPods, as well as their individual iPhones. Another benefit of this arrangement is that they freely "share" their music, videos, and podcasts with each other (of course...it's really MY music as I paid for all of it.)

  • Can you install apps on multiple iphones/ipods from same itunes account?

Hello, My first post so please be gentle. I will be picking up my 3g in an hour or 2 and have a few apps lined up including super monkeyball. My wife has an 8g touch. We have seperate pc's each with their own library and installation of itunes although both signed in to my account. Itunes has let me download super monkeyball on both pc's ( same account ). Will it let me install the game to my iphone and my wifes touch? I'm pretty new to itunes and have never even purchased music through it yet but I understand purchased music can be downloaded to 5 seperate pc's and unlimmited ipods? is that correct? I would be surprised if this was the same for applications.

Your answer is yes although you were going to attempt it in a few hours anyway so why bother asking? Oh that's right you're excited

  • Need help transferring iPod data to iTunes (computer virus wiped me out)

The AIM virus wiped my computer out last week and my help desk restored everything but my music. I've got all the tunes on my iPod but can't figure out how to transfer the music back into iTunes on my rebuilt laptop. Any way to do this? Your help is much much appreciated!

You can't sync your music back from an iPod to iTunes, the transfer of music is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the files from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.

  • Different ipod with same itunes

i recently broke my ipod and my sister gave me her ipod mini to keep. I wanted to erase her songs and jus add my songs to her ipod by plugging it into my computer. Her ipod had been hookd up to a different computer. When i plugged it into my computer it said that computer does not recognize device and nothing else popped up. SUGESTIONS???

Start by uninstalling iTunes and the Ipod setup software and download and installing the latest versions. Try connecting again if it still doesn't see the iPod try resetting it and then put it into forced disk mode before connecting. You could also try posting to the right discussion - this one is for the older, regular iPods. You have a mini.

  • Ipod mini and ipod on same itunes?

I've had an ipod for a while and used it with my iTunes succesfully. I just got an ipod mini and for some reason the iTunes won't recognize it even though my computer does. It is up to date on updates but it just won't get recognized while my iPod is still being recognized. What do i do?

You may also want to try other usb ports, and also try resetting the iPod whilst it's connected.

  • Using Multiple iPods on Same iTunes Library

I'm using iTunes 5.0 with one library that I use to manually sync two iPods to. One iPod is a 40gb photo, and the other is 1st Gen. iPod (10gb)model. Not sure what is going on, but at for the longest time I was able to connect each iPod and manually sync to the library. I can now hook up my 40gb photo ipod and sync it, but when I hook up the 1st Gen. ipod, and try and drag and drop purchased music (from iTunes), it won't allow me to transfer the music. I've made sure the firmware is up to date. I'm running iTunes on my Windows pc running XP Home. Thanks for any help!

I just ran iPod updater and it's showing firmware version 1.4 (and that it's up to date). Is there a new updater with a more recent firmware version?
