2 isdn lines on single bri

Is it possible to have two isdn lines(total 4B 2D channels) running on a single physical bri interface using dialer profile (or any possible method)?
I have seen cisco example which provide hub-and-spoke topology design but no indication whereby single bri on each end of the router supports multiple isdn.
Any help or advice will be deeply appreciated.

hi
its not possible to have 4B channels and 2D channels in a single physical isdn line,it does come with 2B and 1D channel.
i feel you are trying to pool 2 or 3 isdn lines under single dialer profile and want to use for some dialin/dialout purpose, thats very much possible in clubbing them like this.
But do throw some more lite about your requirement so that more inputs will be keyed in..
but still to startup with do find the link attached which speaks about different scenarios in the dial technology.

  • ISDN Backup without ISDN Line

    Hello,
I have big problem. My client has to have ISDN back-up but there is no possibility to get ISDN line to my client location. Router has WIC 1B S/T and should call in to the another router with PRI interface when there is a problem with main line (FR).
How can I resolve this problem?? Where can I plug ISDN line?
    Best regards,
    Jarek

    Hi Jarek,
If there is no ISDN service where the remote site is then you will have to forget about using ISDN backup from that particular site.
Your best way to get dial backup would be to use something like a WIC-1AM or WIC-2AM (analog modem WICs) at the remote site, connected to normal POTS phone lines. You would then need to install some digital modems into the router with the PRI (NM-6DM etc). In this way the analog modems can dial into the PRI, whereby the PRI router will direct the call internally to the digital modems.
This won't give as good a performance as a BRI ISDN circuit, but it will at least allow you to implement a dial backup solution.
    Hope that helps.

  • Monitoring ISDN Line

    Hi,
Can any one guide me how to verify the status of ISDN link when it is configured as backup with dialer interface?
I have CISCO 3640 routers. I had configured E1 links as primary. ISDN lines are configured as backup lines.
ISDN line kicks in whenever serial line is down. Dialer interface is configured & binded to BRI interface in the router.
I would like to monitor/know the status of ISDN line automatically, now & then.
I know this is possible by non-intrusive manual testing.
I can not bring down the serial line to verify the status of ISDN.

    hi
Quite sometime back we did face this kinda situation and we did overcome the same by dialing out the isdn line without distrubing the functional E1s.
if you have backup interface command or floating static route coded in your config the isdn state will be deactivated,if you can remove them off in off-peak hours it does comes active and u can check out the condition of ISDN lines.
And again i m not sure about any h/w boxes or automated commands to monitor the isdn line but peopl out here may be knowing more on the same line ofcourse their feedbacks would also help u out..

  • QoS on isdn line

    Hello,
I have an isdn line as a backup with the following policy
    policy-map backup
    class preced-5
    priority 45
    class preced-4
    bandwidth remaining percent 30
    class preced-3
    bandwidth remaining percent 30
    class preced-2
    bandwidth remaining percent 20
    class preced-1
    bandwidth remaining percent 10
    class class-default
    bandwidth remaining percent 10
I can see drops at the critical class even when the offered rate is 1000 or 5000bps, while it should allow untill 45Kbps.
    Virtual-Access1
    Service-policy output: backup
    Class-map: preced-5 (match-any)
    354 packets, 252724 bytes
30 second offered rate 1000 bps, drop rate 1000 bps
    Match: ip precedence 5
    354 packets, 252724 bytes
    30 second rate 1000 bps
    Queueing
    Strict Priority
    Output Queue: Conversation 40
Bandwidth 45 (kbps) Burst 1125 (Bytes)
    (pkts matched/bytes matched) 354/252724
    (total drops/bytes drops) 141/156991
    Class-map: preced-5 (match-any)
    268 packets, 189684 bytes
30 second offered rate 3000 bps, drop rate 3000 bps
    Match: ip precedence 5
    268 packets, 189684 bytes
    30 second rate 3000 bps
    Queueing
    Strict Priority
    Output Queue: Conversation 40
Bandwidth 45 (kbps) Burst 1125 (Bytes)
    (pkts matched/bytes matched) 268/189684
    (total drops/bytes drops) 114/130919

It should allow an /average/ of 45kbps. If your traffic is bursty you are going to see drops even though the 30 second offered rate is low.
If you are putting Voice into your LLQ make sure you are provisioning for the layer 3 header as well as the traffic. This will be about 80kbps for a standard G.711 call and 24kbps for a single G.729 call.
You may want to change the interface to
    if#max-reserved-bandwidth 90
This shouldn't be affecting your problem, but it could eliminate any problems with the default-class percent versus the other non-priority classes.

  • HP Laserjet 4100 PCL 5E keeps "phoning home" and tying up our ISDN line

We have a couple of HP Laserjet 4100 printers that connect to the hospital via an ISDN line (can't upgrade at this time as that is all that is available at that location) and which we pay for by the minute (not much but still by the minute).   The problem we are having is that the printer keeps "phoning home" about every 30 seconds or so unless we unplug them.  The queue for them is located here at the hospital so I'll assume the printer is "phoning home" so that it can update the status in the queue and whether or not it is online/offline.   We have other HP printers out in the field that don't have this problem and yes they do show offline in our queue they still work fine and have worked fine for over a year now.
My question is how does not stop the printer from constantly "phoning home" so that it can report its status.   The current driver we are using the is the Laserjet 4100 PCL 5E.   Thanks!

The product you have seems to be a commercial printer. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!
You may find the Commercial Laserjet board here.

  • How to comment several lines in single go in LSMW?

    Hi,
How to comment several lines in single go in LSMW? in SE38 we can select the code and CTRL+< . But in LSMW this will not work out. So how to comment several lines in single go?
    Regards

    Sreekanth,
I've worked with LSMW for awhile but never found an easier way.  The editor is old so you won't even see multiple comment command.  I figure that you can select a block and cut it and put on se38 and do the comment from there then paste it back into lsmw.
    Good luck.

  • Need multiple lines in single column of header using alv oops

    Hi
I am using alv oops in a report.
I need multiple lines in single column of header.
In header of my report i am using 9 columns.
In the second column i need to split the line
    Notification description/activity/work/activity long text/
    as
    Notification description/
    activity/
    work/
    activity long text/
Please guide me to achieve this functionality.

It is not possible to break the column description in the ALV  disply.
Actually, if you have a longer description in one of the seltext_* field of the fiels catalog, it will automatically display it as a tooltip, if you put the mouse over the heading. In ALV OO, you can explicitly set the tooltip text.
Also you can get more help on the field pressing F1: If you use DDIC fields, it it automatic, otherwise you can do it as you like.

  • BT Infinity over ISDN lines?

    Hi
I'm considering BT Infinity, but have a query regarding it's positioning.
The existing cable comes up from the ground by the front door, through the wall, then under the concrete hallway floor, and reappears on an internal wall - unfortunately in a wireless 'dead spot'.
I would prefer to be able to connect my desktop PC via Ethernet upstairs where I work, which obviously means moving the master socket.
However, at the point where the line enters (by the front door), there is a separate cable running around the outside of the house, which, many years ago, used to host an ISDN line. This is where I'd like the new master socket to be located.
My first question - would the ISDN cable be capable of hosting Infinity, or is the ISDN a different type of cable?
Secondly - if the cable is OK, would it be a trivial (free) job to switch the wiring over to the ex-ISDN cable, and use the old upstairs socket as the new master?
    Many thanks
    Mark

    Hi mark,
AFAIK there's no difference between the wires that ISDN lines use and those that normal telephony/xDSL services use. The only thing with ISDN is that there is equipment installed on either end to ensure the signal remains digital (instead of digital/analogue/digital for xDSL). As long as this equipment has been removed (and there is no ISDN "Tag" on the line) you should be fine. If not, or if there is no active telephone service on the line (i.e. if you can't get a dial tone if you plug in a normal telephone) you'll need to address this first.
For your second query, it completely depends on what way you have your internal wiring configured. Some engineers who install Infinity are happy to move around pre-existing internal wiring however they are not obliged to do so, so if your internal wiring setup is quite complex they may refuse. You may be better to have this addressed before getting Infinity installed to make 100% sure everything is to your liking.
    Hope this helps

  • Table control: Line selection single issue

    Hi experts,
I have created a table control and in the screen painter I have defined the line selection as "Single" for table control.
The table control can display upto 20 lines in a screen and i can select a single record only which pertains to my requirement. if I try to select two records it will not allow.
Issue: consider  i select a single record from the first 20 lines displayed in screen, then i scroll the records in the table control so that it displays the records from 21 to 40. if I select a single record now from line 21 to 40, the first record that i selected is not getting deselected. That is, totally two lines are getting selected.
    How to overcome this issue
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Anand

    Ok
    The "problem" is here:
    Types: Begin of ty_ic,
      ic(20),
      desc(20),
      sel(1)                                 <--------------------------------
    End of ty_ic.
You've ha a field for selected line and that field is used in table control definition as you've written:
"Note: wa_ic is the structure used in table control and wa_ic-sel is the mark field defined the table control attributes"
So you're using the structure WA_IC as header line of internal table IT_IC and also as input/put field of your table control (I mean the screen fields of table control are based on WA_IC).
You don't need any code in PBO to move the data from internal table to table control, because the headerline of IT_IC and field of table control are the same, infact you've implemented only the code in PAI to save the data from table control to IT_IC:
    Loop at it_ic.
    Modify it_ic from wa_ic index tc_ic-current_line
    Endloop
t's a good solution if it needs to transfer all data to table control automatically: it doesn't need any code in PBO
but, of course, there'll be a problem when you don't need to display something, in this case you have to think a solution, I mean you have to write a code in order to avoid to display those data.
It's the case of the selected line: in your situation all selected lines keep the selection, because the code to clear IT_IC-SEL is missing: only the user can deselect a line, but if he doesn't do it, the line will remain selected after navigation.
So you make to be sure to clear all selected lines are not displayed.
You need to create a code in PAI out of the loop of table control where you clear the flag SEL, in order to do it you need to consider:
    - The index of the first record displayed in table control is stored in field TC_IC-TOP_LINE
    - The index of the last record displayed in table control can be calculated: the variable SY-LOOPC indicates how many rows can be displayed in table control, so the last record will be: TC_IC-TOP_LINE + SY-LOOPC.
So you need to clear the field SEL for all records not displayed, a code like this:
    PROCESS PAI.
      LOOP AT IT_IC.
         MODULE GET_LOOPC.
      ENDLOOP.
      MODULE CLEAR_SEL.
      MODULE GET_LOOPC..
          TOT_LINE_DISPLAYED = SY-LOOPC.
      ENDMODULE
      MODULE CLEAR_SEL.
    * Here you need to clear the selection of the records before of TOP_LINE
           IF TC_IC-TOP_LINE > 1.
              LOOP AT IT_IC INTO WA_IC  TO TC_IC-TOP_LINE.
                 CLEAR WA_IC-SEL.
                 MODIFY IT_IC FROM WA_IC.
              ENDLOOP.
         ENDIF.
    * Here you need to clear the selection of the records after the last one:
          LAST_INDEX = TOT_LINE_DISPLAYED + TC_IC-TOP_LINE.
         DESCRIBE TABLE IT_IC LINES SY-TABIX,
         IF SY-TABIX > LAST_INDEX.
              LOOP AT IT_IC INTO WA_IC  FROM LAST_INDEX.
                 CLEAR WA_IC-SEL.
                 MODIFY IT_IC FROM WA_IC.
              ENDLOOP.
         ENDIF.
      ENDMODULE.

  • Multiple PR line to Single PO line - Possible?

    Hi,
We have scenario where we get generate multiple PR lines for a material (from MRP) for same Vendor. Now Need to convert these similar line in a Single PO line. Is there any way to Group by Material to Single PO line?
Actully in our system we do not allow to have multiple PO lines for same material in one PO due to some WMS store complication.
    Appreciate.
    Thanks,
    Jain.

    Hi Rama,
Looking for ONE PO LINE per Material for multiple PR lines.
We instructed buyer to put only one line per material per PO, and now if they need to use one PO for multiple PR lines (same material) then they have to club all pr line qty and create one PO line with total qty. (Split may mention at Line delivery schedule).
This process was ok before we had weekly MRP but now there are many many PR lines for same material and not convenient to convert each line in to new PO.
    INV-WMS process we follow:
Actually we do GRN per material per PO, that is because supplier shipment contain information Material#, PO#, and Qty# only, they never supply the line number, so we do not know that shipment is for which that for which PO line exactly. And one shipment qty may be full fill more then one line.
In between Pr-GRN and GRN we have IQA process (vias custom screen) where user key in the box information, LP number, IQA number; which used later for binning and TO creation.
We setted up box as storage unit. So in case of partial shipment we can not spilt box qty between PO lines as we have one LP number per box.
So, need control function which can help buyer to have one line per PO per material for multiple pr lines.
    Thanks.

  • ArcGIS Text: what determines single line vs. single letter?

Hello! Please see the attached and notice that some text is presented as individual letters, and other text is presented as a single line (I have selected the text so you can see the vertices).  Clipping mask is released, everything is ungrouped. These labels have no difference I can find inside of ArcMap10, but something is clearly differentiating them in Illy.  Any ideas? And any idea how I can export to achieve grouping neither by letter nor phrase, but by individual whole word? Thank you!

Thanks; I do appreciate the input!  ArcGIS is similar to a drafting program like AutoCAD in some ways, but its most distinguishing characteristic is its spatial awareness--its lines and points know where they are geographically, according to projections and grids and all that good geo stuff.  Think GPS, Google Maps, etc. "Mxd" is the file extension for a map document generated by Esri ArcGIS software, a leading developer/supplier of geospatial tools.  Thanks again for taking a look!

  • Add Internal Table Multiple Lines into Single Line

    Hi Gurus,
Before post this thread, i hav searched SDN but i could not find the exact solution.
I hav an internal table, i want to add the records of this internal table into single line (string variable), separated by tab operator.
can any one give me suggestions to solve this?

    Hi,
Program should be some thing like below:
    REPORT  ZTEST36.
*-- test program to concatenate internal table to string.
    DATA:STRING TYPE STRING.
    TYPES:BEGIN OF TY_ITAB,
          WEEK(15),
