2 layers reveal hide using the mouse

Hi there, Im thinking about making my first thing in Flash. The problem is I have no clue what so ever how to do the following:
I have 2 pictures or 2 movies I want to play on top of each other. I want to drag the top movie to right or left to hide or reveal the movie layer.
It will be used to watch 2 seperate movies at a time, so changes between the 2 moviews can be clearly seen, while dragin with the mouse.
Do this make sense at all?
Thanks
PEter

Look into the startDrag() and stopDrag() methods.  Beyond offering that, it's not really clear what you are having a problem with.

  • How to dismiss the spelling dialogue without using the mouse

I'd appreciate the right tip from anyone on how to dismiss the spelling dialogue in Mail without using the mouse. (I'm one of those guys who likes to use the keyboard as much as possible.) Here's the scenario:
I open a new message in Mail, type my text, press Cmd-Shift-D, then (because I have it set to check spelling when I "click send") up pops the spelling dialogue. That's fine as far as it goes, but many times I don't need any corrections because either I don't care or because the words are fine but just not recognized by Mail. So until now what I do is use the mouse to click on the far left one of the three round buttons in the upper left corner of the dialogue. I would like not to have to use the mouse, but pressing Esc or any other keys I try doesn't work to make it go away.
    Your advice is welcome! Thanks.

Well, that window is actually a floating window, which means that it is meant to hang around. Notice that if you move Mail to the background (without hiding it), the spelling window hides itself, then shows itself again when you bring Mail back to the front. Floating windows are kind of in their own little world, meant to float above windows while not interfering with keystrokes sent to the frontmost window.
I would argue that it shouldn't be a floater, because nobody's going to want it around once they're done checking spelling. But that's kind of a matter of opinion, and obviously Mail's designers thought differently.
BTW, in the course of writing this, I discovered something -- if you click in the spelling window, so that you could type in the field there, Command-W will actually close the floater. But, of course, that still requires a click in the window with the mouse.

  • How to get the position of a selected cell in a table without using the mouse event?

    Dear All,
I have a question about table:After clicking the cell of a table, the cell is into the edit status. How to know the row number and column number of the cell, when I click a button?
The link below is using the mouse down event:

Is there any other way to do it? Having tried to using the "edit position"  property, but it seems not working well.

after i have downloaded an album from iCloud to my new macbook pro. Itunes will only play one song at a time. If i hit the fast forward or back button will not do anything. I have to use the mouse to hit the next tidal in the album then hit play for it to play the next song. Or put it in the UP NEXT.

First, make sure these items have checkmarks next to their names in iTunes. Continuous playback only works on checked items. Itunes will play all checked items in a list whether or not they're from the same album.
If you see that nothing in your library is checked and you want to check everything, hold down Ctrl while checking an item. This checks everything.
Next, fixing the "1 of 1" problem is easily. Select all the tracks that make up the book/album. Let's say there are 15. Press Ctrl-I. Doublecheck that the album box is filled in with the name of the book, and if not, type it there. Enter "15" in the box for the total number of tracks. Click OK. Now all the items should be "1 of 15," "2 of 15," and so on.

  • When adding bookmarks and trying to changing its name, Firefox won't allow using the mouse; Firefox will only allow using the arrow keys (MAC OS 10.5, Firefox 3.6.8)

When adding a bookmark sometimes the web page name is too long. I used to be able to use my mouse, highlight the letters/words that I don't want, then use delete to truncate the desired bookmark name. Since the latest update/upgrade, Firefox won't let me use the mouse to click anywhere in the popup box. I can only use the arrow keys and the delete key.
Nothing other than updates (using Mac Software Update and Firefox Update) has been done to this computer (it's a 2002 Power Mac G4-Dual 1.25GHz).

  • Using the mouse wheel to scroll, now jumps a few albums at a time unlike before

help!  Using the mouse wheel to scroll, now jumps a few albums at a time unlike before ><
In the past I was just able to go into the mouse control settings in control panel and reduce wheel scrolling to 1 page at a time.  Now i'm not able to scroll one album at a time anymore, even though my mouse control panel is still set to scroll at one page at a time.  Its skipping two albums ahead now and I can't pin point to the album I want now unless if I click on it.  I haven't used ituens in awhile so it must be something new on the last 2 updates, I don't see anything in the perference menu.
    thx

I can't use the keyboard to scroll. I need to keep my hand on the mouse, otherwise I'd never get anything done. Since I have no problem getting Firefox to scroll one page at a time, and I'm constantly jumping between 3 browsers, it would be nice to be able to scroll a full page at a time in Safari, just like I can in Firefox. Thanks.

  • Captivate 4 - Use the mouse and keyboard at the same time.

    Hello, good people.
There is a way, in C4, to use the mouse and the keyboard at the same time?
    An example, in software simulation:
"Hold the Shift key and click with the mouse in the other object to select it too..."

    Hi all
I also understand the need for such a feature. Not saying I need it myself, but that I do understand it.
What really needs to happen here is for everyone else that would need to use such a feature to request it from the Adobe Captivate Development team. See, the thing is, it's like a big election system. The more folks that request a specific feature, the higher it ranks on the Adobe development radar.
So anyone that wants to see this feature should request it using the link below.

  • How to select rows or columns of tables without using the mouse?

    2nd post ever! Yeah! \m/
In Excel, I can select entire rows or columns of data WITHIN TABLES--i.e., not selecting entire sheet rows or columns--by going to any cell on the perimeter of the table, holding down shift+ctrl, and clicking a direction arrow. So for example, if I have a table in columns D-G and rows 1-5, I can highlight row 4 by going to the first or last cell of that row, holding down the shift+ctrl, and hitting the appropriate direction arrow. You might think this is superfluous given that you can use the mouse to select cells. But that becomes cumbersome with large tables, and this method can be more efficient even with small tables.
Similarly, it's often useful to navigate tables, particularly large ones, by moving from any cell within the table to the end or beginning of that row or column by holding down ctrl and hitting the appropriate arrow key. In Excel, this ctrl+arrow key method also allows you to skip blank cells, which is another very useful navigational feature.
I tried numerous combos involving shift, ctrl, command, alt/option and the arrow keys. Haven't found a way to do any of this yet.
    Anyone?

    Hi Josh,
Numbers is organized differently than Excel, and the navigation tools are different too. Many of us miss our particular favorites from spreadsheets past, but this is Numbers, not a clone. The biggest adjustment is to go from huge monolithic sheet-tables containing virtual sub-tables to a simple blank sheet with small tables, sometimes many per sheet. Navigating is no big deal in these small tables and neither is getting from one small table to another, using the Sheets pane.
Selecting a particular Table is as easy as clicking on the table's name in the Sheets pane. Selecting a particular row, or column, or ranges of rows or columns is done by clicking on the table's row and column labels, left side and top side once a cell is selected in the table.
Numbers is weak at handling large Tables and documents that are large overall. We know this and many of us still prefer it to the alternative when the tool fits the task.

  • Delete song from iTunes 6 without using the mouse?

Hi. My iTunes was just updated from 4.7 to 6.0.2 by Apple during a repair.
I'm going crazy because the keyboard shortcuts aren't the same. Ugh! In iTunes 4.7 to delete a song I'd use CMD-Del followed by a quick Y (for yes). Now it's like being pestered by a little kid: do you really want to delete this? [makes you use the mouse to click delete] do you want to remove it from iTunes or keep it? [makes you use the mouse to click remove].
Grrrr... why would I click delete it if I didn't want to delete it and why can't I just OK it with the keyboard? This is extremely annoying.
Does anyone know how to delete stuff from iTunes with no more than 2 keyboard commands and no mouse action?

Yeah. I found that list - lots of changes who knows why. And what's with all those Option combos? Yours was the undocumented one that I direly needed. I'm filing this new phenomenon away for future reference: try the first letter of whatever new dialog Apple comes up with.
I'd enabled all the Universal Access features and everything trying to figure out how to avoid the mouse clicking. I was ready to downgrade to 4.7. There was no way I was going to mouse click twice to delete things.
    Thanks again.

  • How to move object in z direction using the mouse

I have some problems with java3d. Could you please help me with it?
I am designing a user interface and so would like to allow the user to
interactively move the objects in the 3d world, using the mouse. But
presently I can allow them to move it only in the xy plane. How can I
move them in any other plane also?
    Thank you

Take a look at the class com.sun.j3d.utils.behaviors.mouse.MouseZoom. Also look at "Getting Started with the Java 3D API", chapter 4 on interaction, which can be found on the Java3D collateral web page.

  • In facebook, When I access a picture directly, I am unable to advance the photo forwards or backwards using the mouse/cursor or the arrow keys.

I am using Firefox 16.0.1 on a macbook pro using 10.7.5 software.
When I access a picture directly, I am unable to advance the photo forwards or backwards using the mouse/cursor or the arrow keys. The same is true if I use an external mouse.
If I use Safari as the browser, I don't have this issue.
This problem just started a couple of days ago.
    All had been working fine.

  • Drawing connected direct lines using the mouse

    Hallo all,
What I want to do is, to draw connected lines on a graph using just the mouse...
First I will define min and max values for (x,y) -graph range- using the property node...
Then using the mouse I want to draw frequency ramps over time like in FMCW modulation... For example it will just draw the ramps by connecting several points marked by my mouse clicks on the graph. Moreover I need the (x,y) values that I click on the graph...
    Thanks,
    Ogulcan

Hmm, this does not sound very clear. Do you want the cursor to follow the mouse even when the mouse button is up. If you have multiple cursors, which one should be followed? What should happen if you move the mouse outside the window? How do you release the cursor from the mouse when done?
I think it is much easier if you just drag the cursors via the normal mechanism. It is most direct and intuitive. See attached LabVIEW 7.1 example. For another example of moving points, have a look at this older thread..Message Edited by altenbach on 06-28-2005 10:13 AM
