2 Libraries on one computer. Can I merge them?

Here is the scenario in short:
I have a 5th Gen Video iPod that I bought in 2006 (works like a champ!) that has a library of 14k songs with swell playlists, podcasts, etc.
I have a 4th Gen iPod Touch with a library of a bunch of apps, and used as a pocket computer; email accounts, contacts, calendars, etc.
When I got my 1st iPod Touch (2nd Gen) I though it would be a great idea to have two separate libraries so never the twain shall meet. I was wrong! I've never used my Touches for playing music. I use the old tank of a 5th Gen iPod because its indestructible. I sleep on the thing every night. Now I'd like to avoid having to switch libraries each time I plug in to sync each of my two iPods. How can I merge my iPod Touch library with my default iTunes library? Every Google search comes up with folk concerned about merging their music. My Touch library has no music; I just want to move the apps, backups, data, etc. to my primary iTunes library. Can it be done? How?
TL;DR:
How do you transfer IOS apps and setting to a different iTunes library on the same computer/user account?

That did the trick! Thank you.
The free trial is all I needed to migrate my iPod Touch library into my main iTunes library. For those that want to use this tool for the same needs there are some things that need to be moved manually, e.g. Apps. But you can do it within the program very easily. Also iBooks/PDFs etc. need to be moved manually. The help section will point you in the right direction.
No more switching iTunes libraries for me.

Yes but you may run into issues if you want them both to run iTunes Match or automatic downloads.

  • I have two cell phone, different numbers.  Each has their own apple id.  How can i merge them so apps on one show on the other but keep their emails addresses separate on their own phone?

Have two cell phones, different numbers.  Each has their own apple id.  How can I merge them so apps purchased on one phone show on the other.  But.as each has their own email address, I want to keep these email addresses separate on their own phone?  Thanks.

We do this in my family now.  We have one account for purchases, so it is used to share music and apps (I think that is in Settings/iTunes & App Stores).  Each iDevice has this configured.
Then, each of us has our own iCloud account that is configured under Settings/iCloud.  That then allows us to have our own Mail/Contacts/Calendars/Reminders/Safari Bookmarks/Notes/Passbook/Photo Stream/Documents & Data/Find My iPhone/and Backup.  That Backup piece is pretty sweet and comes in handly if you replace your iDevice.  You can just restore from it.
So we all share the Apple Store account but we all have our own iCloud accounts to keep the rest seperate or things like you mentioned are a nightmare.
In answer to what iCloud does for you: http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/
Think of it as an internet based ("cloud") area for all of those items listed in my response.  What you need to remember is photo stream only maintans the last 1000 pictures so don't count it as a complete backup solution for your pictures.  Even though I rarely sync with a computer these days, I do still try to sync my phone with iPhoto (I have an iMac) so that I have copies of all of my pictures.  1000 may not stretch as far as it sounds.

  • I have iTune accounts under two separate Apple IDs.  Can I merge them into one account under one ID?

I have iTune accounts under two separate Apple IDs.  Can I merge them into one account under one ID?  I have purchased music and video in both.

No, it is not possible to merge accounts.  Choose one as the primary account and keep a local backup of all purchases so you don't get into the mess where you encounter a 90 day freeze on re-downloading past purchases from multiple accounts.

  • How do you encript voice memos in the itunes library so no one else at the computer can listen to them?

How do you encrypt voice memos in the itunes library so no one else at your computer can listen to them?

iTunes has no ability to encrypt anything. You'll need to search for encryption software appropriate for whatever type of computer you have. Or, you could set up separate accounts for other users of your computer and password your account.

  • I have 2 Apple ID's. I bought all my music on first one. Now, update/sync doesn't pick up musiuc bc using a new Apple ID.... can i merge them onto my iPhone?

I have 2 Apple ID's (the old one and my newer one - attached to a new email address).
I bought all my music on first one.
Update/sync doesn't pick up music bc using a new Apple ID.... can I merge them onto my iPhone?

    No.
Content bought using one Apple ID cannot be merged or transferred to another Apple ID.
All content is forever tied to the Apple ID used to obtain them.

I have two itunes accounts, can I merge them?

If you are using a username for your account, you will need to change it to an email address that is required by the system now. If both your accounts are using the same email, you will need to provide another one as you will not be able to use an email for multiple accounts.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT4847 I have two iCloud accounts, one with 10GB and one with 20GB...how can I merge them into the 20GB plan?

I have two iCloud plans.  One with 10GB that backs up my 1Phone and iPad.  I also have a 20GB plan for my iMAC and MAC BookPro.  How can I merge them so that I only have one plan and one iCloud to manage?    My first instinct is to delete the one on my iPhone/iPad and add the iMac plan, but I don't want to do it without an expert opinion.

No, accounts cannot be merged.  Am I an expert?  I only know what I've read here numerous times regarding merging of plans - the answer is always emphatically NO.  Since this is a user-to-user forum (Apple doesn't participate here), you'll have to do some searching about on this topic and either accept or reject the "common" advice.

I ahve two itunes accounts with different Apple ID's.  How can I merge them into one account?

Apple has no provisions for this. You cannot merge multiple Apple ID's into one ID. Content is always tied to the Apple ID that was used to purchase it.

  • Can you run iTunes twice on one computer?  Run two libraries on one compute

My roommate and I both have iPods and share a computer but we have vastly different tastes in music. How can we both have our own iTunes libraries on one computer?

There are a couple of ways you can do this, have a look at this guide: "How to use multiple iPods with one computer" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300432

I have just used migration assistant to import photos (using an ethernet cable) from my PC. It has worked but they have gone into a new user on my MacPro. How can I merge them into the one user account.

How many pictures (or how many bytes) are we talking?  Now that the pictures are imported one way to cross users is to use a removable drive (although large volumes of files preclude this).
The other is to login as the user where the pictures are, then copy them into the public drop box of the user where you want the picture.
The arrow is showing (in ths example) copy files from the Pictures folder for my user to the guest user accounts public dropbox.  When you do this you may have to authenticate and you won't be able to see the results of the copy until you log in as the other user.
All users are in the folder "/Users/"

  • I have 2 icloud accounts, can I merge them and just keep one?

I have 2 icloud accounts, can I merge them and just keep one?

    The simple answer is no
But some info can be saved and merged.
When your signed into one account, sign out and save the data you can, to the device.
Sign into the other account and merge the info.
    Best of Luck

a single iTunes can be authorized for up to five iTunes store accounts (Apple IDs). a library thusly set up will sync content purchased with any of the five Apple IDs to any device.
